ROLLS-ROYCE CEO RETIRES

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced today that Torsten Müller-Ötvös is to retire as its Chief Executive Officer on 30 November 2023. He will be succeeded by Chris Brownridge, currently Chief Executive Officer of BMW UK.

Torsten joined Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in 2010, making him the company’s longest-serving Chief Executive since Claude Johnson, the man who brought Charles Rolls and Henry Royce together in 1904.

Commenting on the announcement, Torsten said, “Leading Rolls-Royce for almost 14 years has been the greatest privilege and pleasure of my professional life. To have grown the company and its world-class people to the position it is in today, at the pinnacle of the luxury industry, has been a remarkable adventure. I am proud of the role my exceptional team and I have played in contributing significantly to the UK economy and to the global recognition of Britain’s ability to produce the world’s best luxury products.”

Oliver Zipse, BMW Group Chief Executive, said, “Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is a jewel in the crown of our organization. Torsten’s outstanding leadership, unswerving commitment, clear vision, and exceptional ability to build a strong, focused team have helped make Rolls-Royce the world-class luxury brand it is today. We wish him the very best for his future endeavours.”

When Torsten took up his appointment, Goodwood produced just two models, Phantom and Ghost.  Under his leadership, Rolls-Royce Wraith and Dawn were introduced, as was Rolls‑Royce Cullinan, the first SUV in the marque’s history. This year sees the introduction of Spectre, the world’s first ultra-luxury electric super coupé that begins the marque’s transition to a fully electric product portfolio by 2030. Torsten also saw Black Badge, the edgier, more subversive Rolls-Royce alter-ego, conceived and launched – a bold venture that has broadened the brand’s appeal significantly.

Using Mobile Apps to Invest: This Is the Way

In the fast-paced world of modern finance, the concept of investing has evolved significantly. With the rise of technology, investing in the present day has become more accessible and convenient than ever before. One of the key enablers of this convenience is the plethora of mobile apps designed to simplify investing. This article explores the importance of these mobile apps in today’s investment landscape, emphasizing their role in helping individuals make informed financial decisions.

The Rise of Mobile Apps in Investing

In recent years, mobile apps have revolutionized the way people invest. These applications have made it possible for investors to access their portfolios, execute trades, and monitor market trends from the palm of their hand, regardless of their location or time zone. Such accessibility has democratized investing, enabling both beginners and seasoned investors to take control of their financial futures with ease.

Accessibility & Convenience

One of the most significant advantages of using mobile apps for investing is the unparalleled convenience they offer. Investors no longer need to be tethered to a desktop computer or reliant on a traditional brokerage firm to manage their investments. Instead, they can trade stocks, bonds, cryptocurrencies, and other assets at their own convenience, 24/7. This accessibility has opened doors for individuals who may have previously found investing intimidating or time-consuming.

Real-Time Information

Mobile apps provide investors with up-to-the-minute information on market movements, news, and trends. This real-time data empowers investors to make informed decisions swiftly, thereby capitalizing on market opportunities and minimizing risks. Furthermore, many of these apps offer customizable alerts and notifications, ensuring that investors never miss a critical development in their portfolio.

Diverse Investment Options

Investment mobile apps typically offer a wide range of investment options, allowing users to diversify their portfolios according to their risk tolerance and financial goals. From stocks and bonds to exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and even alternative investments like real estate and commodities, these apps offer a diverse selection to cater to various investor preferences.

Key Considerations When Choosing an Investment App

While the convenience and accessibility of mobile apps have transformed investing, individuals should exercise caution and due diligence when selecting an app to manage their finances. Here are some key considerations:

Security

Investors should prioritize apps that provide robust security measures to protect their sensitive financial information. Look for apps that utilize encryption, two-factor authentication, and other safeguards to ensure your data remains confidential.

User-Friendly Interface

The ease of use of an investment app is crucial, especially for beginners. A user-friendly interface simplifies the navigation process and ensures that investors can access the features they need without confusion.

Fees & Charges

Different investment apps may have varying fee structures, including trading commissions, account management fees, and expense ratios for ETFs and mutual funds. It’s essential to understand these fees and choose an app that aligns with your budget and investment strategy.

Customer Support

Access to responsive customer support is invaluable in case of any issues or inquiries. Ensure that the app you choose offers accessible and knowledgeable customer service channels, such as live chat, email, or phone support.

Summary

Investing in the present day is all about embracing the convenience offered by mobile apps. These apps empower individuals to take control of their financial future, providing accessibility, real-time information, and diverse investment options. However, investors must carefully evaluate their options to choose the app that best aligns with their needs and financial goals.

As technology continues to advance, the role of mobile apps in investing is likely to expand further, making it even more accessible and efficient for investors. In this dynamic financial landscape, staying informed, and adaptable will be key to achieving long-term financial success. Whether you’re a seasoned investor or just starting your journey, the world of investing is at your fingertips through these innovative mobile applications.

Tamar Braxton

“We stay on the front lines, yeah, but we’re still here, after the bomb drops/We go so hard, we lose control/The fre starts, then we explode/When the smoke clears, we dry our tears/Only in love and war,” Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Tamar Braxton sings on the title track of her 2013 comeback album Love and War – her first album in 13 years that she describes as “a true description of who I am as a woman and as an artist.

Though the album successfully debuted at #1 on the Bilboard R&8 Charts and #2 on the Billboard 200 Charts, selling over 114,000 units in the first week, the truth is, nobody else could get back in the game like she did. The album came out just 3 months after the June 6 delivery of her first child, Logan (Braxton has been married to Vincent Herbert since 2008), and she had already broken a blood vessel on each of her vocal cords by then. Experiencing five failed record deals and being dropped from numerous record labels before the Love and War release. However, she refused to step back even a bit; rather, Braxton went on a national SIX-week tour with John Legend. In the midst of the tour, furthermore, she released her first Christmas album, Winter Loversland, and a month later, she won three titles at the 2013 Soul Train Awards, including Best Female R&B/Soul Artist. “It was just really, really hard. I’m just glad that I’m not there anymore and I’m on the mend,” Braxton says of the vocal issues. “They are not bruised anymore, but I just have to stay very disciplined. I can’t really have alcohol. I can’t really go out. I can’t smoke. And, I have to be quiet during the day to just kind of get through but it’s all worth it.’

After hitting the road with R. Kelly earlier this year, she embarked on her very own Love and War Tour. “Stay focused and definitely stay organized getting your life because if you are all over the place, you’d never get anything accomplished, so that’s my number 1 ‘Get Your Life’ rule,” affirms Braxton.

The 37-year-old R&B vocal powerhouse kicked off her career when she founded R&B group The Braxtons in 1989 with her sisters Toni, Traci, Towanda and Trina. In 1991, Toni left the group to pursue a solo career, and the remaining Braxton sisters became backup singers for Toni. But, it was none other than Whitney Houston, who quickly recognized the infallible sign of talent in then 14-year-old Tamar.

“I remember seeing her in the audience, and she kept pointing at me, but I didn’t know what she was pointing at. After the show backstage, she was like, ‘Good! Go girl! You can sing! You are going to be a star one day!” I just remembered that when she passed away – those words she said to me, and it’s really encouraged me thus far,” she looks back on the encounter with Houston.

To complement her astonishing achievements as an artist, she’s also been an accomplished reality TV star on WE tv’s Braxton Family Values and Tamar & Vince as well as a brilliant talk show host on The Real on FOX (also in a second window on BET). Additionally, Braxton released a relationship book Love and War (co-written by her “husbanger Vince Herbert, of course) last November and has had her own fashion line, Get Your Lite (“the clothing that would make you feel confident and dope”), since 2012.

“I love every single job that 1 have, and they all appear in different roles. On Braxton Family Values. I play a sister, and that’s the role that you see me in. And, on Tamar & Vince, you see me as a wife, and now a mom and an entrepreneur trying to do my things as a woman,” she adds. “And, on The Real, you see me as Tamar, your homegirl, your girlfriend, the person you’d go out and have a Martini with to talk about things you care about like entertainment, fashion, relationships, and fun things like that.”

As the aforementioned Love and War success has certainly cemented Tamar Braxton as one of the strong forces in the current R&B scene (the album and its title single garnered her three Grammy nominations), here’s her response to Whitney Houston right now: “You are an amazing singer, and thank you so much for sharing your gift with the world. I love you so much. And, I hear you in my head every single day, especially the wonderful kind words that you gave me when
was younger.”

Ed Sheeran released Autumn Variations (photo by Annie Liebowitz) via 360 MAGAZINE.

Ed Sheeran – Autumn Variations

Global superstar Ed Sheeran has unveiled “Autumn Variations (Fan Living Room Sessions),” an extended version of his just-released album “Autumn Variations” featuring live performances of each track captured at surprised fans’ homes during the record-setting, North American leg of his Mathematics Tour – each song title on the new collection pays homage to the fan by name (see full track listing below). “Autumn Variations” and “Autumn Variations (Fan Living Room Sessions)” are both available everywhere now. STREAM/DOWNLOAD HERE

To further his commitment to supporting music education programs in schools, Ed is donating a portion of the proceeds from sales of “Autumn Variations” (both the original and Fan Living Room Sessions) purchased at his webstore to music education non-profit Save The Music, aiding in their mission to help students, schools, and communities reach their full potential through the power of making music. For more information, visit Ed’s webstore HERE. In the days leading up to last week’s release of “Autumn Variations,” Ed teamed up with Save The Music on surprise visits to 5 different schools in Los Angeles and New York City, donating guitars to each of their music departments. Watch Save The Music’s highlight reel of his NYC visits HERE

To celebrate the arrival of “Autumn Variations (Fan Living Room Sessions),” companion videos of all 14 intimate performances will be released at 1pm ET today on Ed’s official YouTube channel (HERE), with an official trailer set to launch HERE in advance at 5am ET.

Produced by Aaron Dessner, “Autumn Variations” marks Sheeran’s seventh studio album and first full length to be released on his own Gingerbread Man Records.

Ed said of “Autumn Variations” – “Last autumn, I found that my friends and I were going through so many life changes. After the heat of the summer, everything either calmed, settled, fell apart, came to a head or imploded.”

“When I went through a difficult time at the start of last year, writing songs helped me understand my feelings and come to terms with what was going on, and when I learned about my friend’s different situations, I wrote songs, some from their perspectives, some from mine, to capture how they and I viewed the world at that time. There were highs of falling in love and new friendships among lows of heartbreak, depression, loneliness and confusion.”

“My dad and brother told me about a composer called Elgar, who composed ‘Enigma Variations’, where each of the 14 compositions were about a different one of his friends. This is what inspired me to make this album. When I recorded Subtract with Aaron Dessner, we clicked immediately. We wrote and recorded non-stop and this album was born out of that partnership. I feel he has captured the feeling of autumn so wonderfully in his sonics and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.”

Ed recently wrapped up the North American leg of his Mathematics Tour, setting attendance records in 13 stadiums, including his biggest U.S. show to date at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, in front of over 89,000 fans.
