“For the first time in our history, voting for the 49th NAACP Image Awards was open to the public,” said Derrick Johnson, NAACP President and CEO. “Through our Hollywood Bureau, the NAACP fights for diversity and inclusivity in front of and behind the lens. Engaging the public in the selection of the Image Awards winners is a natural extension of that mission. I am thrilled but not surprised that more than a million individual votes were cast for nominees in 36 categories. We look forward to celebrating the winners they selected on January 15th.”

For 2018 – Cliffs and Castles, Food and Fiddles

Permeate Newly Crafted Itineraries
For Vagabond Small Group Tours of Ireland

Inquisitive adventure travelers would be wise to put Ireland on their tour map for 2018. Vagabond Adventure Tours, Ireland’s award-winning tour operator serving fit and active travelers, and its complementary division, Driftwood Journeys of Discovery that emphasizes unique scenery, culture and history at a more relaxed pace, have added new tours and itinerary embellishments for the coming year.

“From the addition of unique accommodations to totally brand-new tours, 2018 is shaping up to be our most exciting new year!” says Amy Rankin, co-founder and director of Vagabond Small-Group Tours of Ireland (http://vagabondtoursofireland.com/).

New from Driftwood Journeys of Discovery

With multiple departures scheduled for May into September 2018, Vagabond’s Driftwood Journeys of Discovery is launching a new leisurely paced 7 Day Kerry UnCorked Tour through Ireland’s southwest including two nights in Ireland’s foodie capital, Kinsale, where guests savor sea food, visit craft breweries and enjoy whiskey tasting in a local pub. Another stop with plenty of time allotted for exploring is Dingle where galleries and pubs (54 at last count) abound. The itinerary embraces visits to ancient ruins and lunar landscapes, planting a kiss on the Blarney Stone, watching the centuries-bred instincts of working sheep dogs, strolling through stately homes and gardens, being spell-bound by the green fields and stone walls of Dingle and Ireland’s wild and rugged Atlantic coastline where near the Cliffs of Moher in the Burren original Irish music still emanates. The gateway city is Dublin. The per person double rate is €1,699 (€300 single supplement). For more details see: http://vagabondtoursofireland.com/tour/cultural-ireland-tour-7-day/.

Driftwood Journeys of Discovery’s 6 Day Northern Island Tour lavishes guests inclined to leisurely paced culture with castles and manor house estates on whose walls is written much of Northern Island’s resiliency. Appetites for grandeur are whetted on Day 1 at two Palladian-style estates, Castletown House on 550 acres maintained by the Guinness fortune, and Strokestown Park and The Irish National Famine Museum. Sweet dreams this night are within the confines of Markee Castle Hotel. After extensive renovation to become an accommodation, as of 2017 this family-owned castle-hotel is the fourth member of Romantic Castles of Ireland and a new addition to this itinerary. Guests also get tweedy in Donegal, home of the famous weave and Donegal Castle and they’re imbued in clan lore at Dunluce Castle, the McDonald stronghold. One night they sleep with ghosts in 17th century Ballygally Castle. Another recent addition to this tour is a night at a Victorian red brick masterpiece right on the beach, Slieve Donard Resort and Spa. Over six days guests enjoy jaw-dropping vistas atop Atlantic Ocean cliffs; the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Giant’s Causeway; Celtic myths and monasteries; walks on the beach along the Wild Atlantic Way; fiddle-filled pubs, tours of cultural hubs and more. The gateway city is Dublin. Scheduled departures run from April through October. The rate per person double is €1,509 (single supplement €210). For details see http://vagabondtoursofireland.com/tour/6-day-northern-ireland-tour/.

  • morning walks on Ireland’s holiest mountain
  • bike rides along the famous Western Greenway
  • museum visits

Also beginning in 2018, all tours that include Galway will linger a bit longer here giving guests at least two hours for exploring and shopping in this bustling city. From Eyre Square, a walk down Shop Street is a must. Onlookers are treated to entertainment from buskers as well as countless small cafes and shops, including the shop famous for Claddagh rings that promise love, loyalty and friendship. Not far from Spanish Arch is the impressive Galway Cathedral, which is home to interesting art and design. The Vagabond Adventure Tours inclusive of Galway include 7, 8, 11 and 12-day programs.

On all its tours, the Vagabond staff will curate locally owned accommodations, pubs and restaurants that help serve their goal of authenticity. In the end the mission is to have guests “love Ireland as much as we do.” Transport is in a custom 4×4 Land Rover or Mercedes ‘Vagatron’ that allows access beyond where regular tour buses go.

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton Miami Design District will be the only store in the US to prelaunch the Men’s Spring Summer 2018 collection on January 10th before the official launch on the 19th.Inspired by the idea of exotic islands and travel, Kim Jones’ Spring Summer 2018 collection is overflowing with colorful prints, technical details and light weight fabrics.

In the spirit of the collection, Louis Vuitton has redesigned an iconic VW bus which will be parked outside the Design District store fromJanuary 10th to 22nd, before it departs for Rodeo Drive and lastly heads to Waikiki Gump.

Miami-themed limited edition bumper stickers will be gifted with each purchase from the Spring Summer 2018 menswear collection. Louis Vuitton Miami Design District will also be the first store in the US to offer the SS18 surfboard. Additionally, exclusive Monogram Pacific leather goods will be available for purchase only at the Miami Design District store.

The fabrics are lightweight, modern and fluid. Technical skills, tonic mohairs and seersucker, a paper-thin “scuba” lambskin leather bonded with neoprene – fabrics that travel well and are practical, both demanded by the modern island-hopper and emblematic of the functional, technical roots of Louis Vuitton. Colours contrast the signature Monogram palette of earth tones with shades of khaki and flashes of sports-inspired neon, all “surrounded” by the deep ocean blue.

The key theme of fusion is literally echoed in the accessories. The new style, the Monogram Split, contrasts different colourways of Louis Vuitton’ s iconic Monogram canvas, emphasized with a centre seam. The style is offered in classic Keepalls, re-engineered with a lateral seam; or the tidtotee with an oversized style split vertically, including the handle, which is taken from those traditionally used on the trunks. From mountains of trunks, to hand-luggage only- this is another journey, from past to present, charting the needs of the contemporary bigger.

New colourways and treatments of the iconic Monogram are introduced – Pacific, a cobalt-blue, Oceania-inspirwd iteration and Reflect, whose hi-vis reflective finish is influenced by high-impact sport.

The importance of the sportswear theme-surfing, scuba and trekking- is underscored by a new technical, sports inspired line, “Monogram Outdoor”, which mixes canvas with sports webbing, scuba, zips, cording and hardware based in the coloured metal if a climber’s carabiner clips, creating new styles infused with the energy and and dynamism of outdoor pursuits. Other styles play with the recent archive – blowing up the ‘Noe’ bag into oversized backpacks, and revisiting clog style shoes first offered for women. The footwear cross-breads these clogs with hiking boots, Harajuku with Honolulu. The construction of Louis Vuitton trunks inspire soles in dovetailed lightweight ash and nailhead metallic details – as modern today as they seemed 163 years ago.

The soundtrack is as unique as the clothes: the musician Drake has recorded a song inspired by this collection, to be premiered at the show. Another fusion – between music and high fashion.

RONNI HAWK × 360 MAGAZINE

Ronni Hawk can be seen on the hit Disney Channel series “Stuck in the Middle.” Opposite a talented cast, Ronni plays the pretty, yet self-absorbed Rachel; the eldest of the Diaz’s seven children. “Stuck in the Waterpark – The Movie” will share the Diaz family adventures as they embark on a family vacation that doesn’t exactly go according to plan! The movie will also be available on Disney Channel’s multiple on-demand platforms including the app and Disney Channel vod.

In light of her newfound success, Ronni, who has considered herself an environmentalist since a very young age, is eager to use her position in the public eye to give back to those in need. Influenced by her father’s philanthropic work providing dental services and basic needs to communities in third world countries, Ronni has recently partnered with Thirst Project to raise funds and awareness surrounding the worldwide water crisis. With the launch of her campaign, Ronni will call on her fans to join her in raising money to fund projects building wells in communities where water is scarce.

Following in the footsteps of her mother, Ronni fell in love with performing while studying ballet as a young child. Ronni danced six hours a day, dividing her time between the Bak School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida, and the Boca Ballet Theatre. It was here that she discovered her interest and abilities in acting in an effort to expand her range of performance. During a weekend acting workshop for aspiring actors, Hawk connected with two acting coaches from LA who encouraged her to pursue her newfound passion and suggested she try Hollywood.

At the age of 13, Ronni seized an opportunity and flew to Los Angeles to meet with agents and managers. The first agent she interviewed with signed her on the spot in all categories, TV/Film, Commercial, Print and Voiceover. With the support of her friends and family, Ronni flew between the two coasts for auditions and training. At 15, she booked the role of “Rachel” on “Stuck in the Middle” and stayed in Los Angeles and began shooting the Disney sitcom.

Ronni’s experiences as a young dancer taught her the importance of self-control and prepared her for performing in front of large audiences. It was Ronni’s spirit and determination that prevented the rigors of the industry from having a negative impact on her self-confidence. Hawk equates much of her drive and focus as an actress to the intensity and strictness necessary to perfect the craft of dance. Ronni is also quick to thank great coaches, tutors and her family for all of their help, support and encouragement. For her current role, Ronni references TV favorites including “Vampire Diaries,” “The Originals” and “Peaky Blinders,” but looks forward to growing into dramatic roles as her career matures. She looks to the careers of film icons such as Leonardo Dicaprio, Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie and Robin Williams and classic works like “The Dead Poets Society” for inspiration.
