Elton John Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour Concludes in Stockholm Tonight July 8 via 360 MAGAZINE.

Elton John – FYBR Tour

Elton John’s record-breaking Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour reached its conclusion tonight with an emotionally charged show at Sweden’s Tele2 Arena. This landmark 330th – and final – date marked the end of a truly historic, ground-breaking tour which sees Elton say goodbye to touring after 50 years on the road. The Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour kicked off on September 10, 2018, in North America and has subsequently seen Elton play to over 6.25 million fans across the UK, Europe, North America, and Australasia.

After leaving the stage in Stockholm, Elton said, “When we set off on my final tour in 2018, I couldn’t have foreseen in my wildest dreams the twists and turns and the highs and lows this tour – and the whole world – would have experienced in the next 5 years. And every step of the way, my fans have been there. They have stuck with me, they have supported me, they have been patient, and they have kept turning out for every single last show. Tonight has been magical. I’m trying to process it, and I don’t think it will sink in for a while yet that I’m finally finished touring. I can’t tell you how much I’m going to miss the fans and how much their support has humbled me – it will stay with me forever.”

Taking the audience on a magical journey through his career for the final time, tonight’s show featured some of Elton’s most beloved songs from his legendary catalog, including “Bennie and the Jets,” “Rocket Man,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Philadelphia Freedom” climaxing in a three-song encore of “Cold Heart,” “Your Song” and a spine-tingling finale of “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.”

During the set, a live video link-up with Coldplay, who were playing live in Gothenburg at the same time, delivered a message of thanks to a clearly deeply moved Elton on behalf of the many artists and musicians he’s supported and platformed during his touring career. Chris Martin said: “Elton, from all of us here (in Gothenburg), from all the bands and artists you’ve helped and inspired, we love you so much. We are so grateful for everything you’ve done for the AIDS Foundation, anytime you’ve been kind to anybody. For everything you’ve done for LGBTQ. Everything you’ve done for fashion and eyewear. Everything you’ve done for sexiness, and love, and dressing gowns! Everything you’ve done for music, everything Bernie has done for lyrics, everything your band has done over the thousands of shows you’ve done. We love you so much, we’re going to miss you so much.”

Elton also gave an emotional send-off to his incredible band, who have joined him on stage throughout the tour – and the previous 50 years – including Davey Johnstone, Musical Director, Guitarist, and backup vocals, Nigel Olsson on the drums, Ray Cooper on percussion, John Mahon on percussion, Kim Bullard on keyboards and Matt Bissonette on the bass.

Having toured relentlessly since 1970, playing almost 4,600 shows in 80 countries in the ensuing half a century, Elton made the decision in 2017 that the time was right to come off the road so he could fully embrace the next important chapter of his life and dedicate more time to his family. The ensuing Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour has subsequently broken records, pushing boundaries and shattering expectations in a five-year period of celebratory activity that has solidified Elton’s status across the generations in the very highest echelons of popular culture. Each leg of the tour has been greeted with an avalanche of critical and commercial success. Highlights include 8 nights at Madison Square Garden, 10 nights at London’s O2 Arena, headlining a sold-out BST in London’s Hyde Park, 2 nights at Watford Football Club’s Vicarage Road (July 2022), and a mammoth 46 dates across Australia. The U.S. leg of the tour concluded with 3 sell-out shows at Dodger Stadium in November 2022. The concert was live-streamed on Disney + in every single territory the channel broadcasts in, a global first. And, of course, there was last month’s historic Glastonbury Festival headline slot. The Sunday night Pyramid Stage closer was widely heralded as one of the greatest performances in the festival’s rich history, attracting one of the largest crowds ever witnessed at the festival. It also received the biggest-ever televised audience for a Glastonbury set, reaching 7.6m overnight on BBC1.

The success of the live tour has been underpinned by release of the commercial and critical hit film ‘Rocketman’ and global bestselling autobiography, ‘ME’ in a sustained 5 year period of unrivaled cultural celebration. Cold Heart with Dua Lipa (PNAU remix) saw Elton top the UK single chart, becoming the first artist to score a top 10 solo hit single in 6 consecutive decades in the process. Diamonds, the Ultimate Greatest Hits Collection, continues to be a permanent fixture in the charts as new audiences discover Elton’s unrivaled songbook. Last week it reached a new peak position of #2 in the UK albums charts, an incredible 5 years after its release, achieving 4 times platinum status in the process.

In Stockholm tonight, the sun finally set on Elton’s illustrious touring career as he bows out at the very top of his powers. Fans around the world can now only wait and speculate on what will follow from a true icon who has consistently challenged the norm, pushed boundaries, and shaped popular culture like few others.

Billy Porter releases new music via 360 MAGAZINE.

Billy Porter – Broke A Sweat

Billy Porter heats up the summer with brand new single “Broke A Sweat” out today via Republic Records/Island UK.  The song precedes his forthcoming album, The Black Mona Lisa, arriving this Fall.

Listen to “Broke A Sweat”HERE.

On the track, bold and boisterous horns set the mood as the funky bass line locks into an upbeat dancefloor-ready groove. Handclaps punctuate heartfelt verses as the momentum culminates on a mic-drop of a chorus, “I haven’t even started yet, I haven’t even broke a sweat.

Billy comments on the new single, “For me, with this album, after being away from the mainstream industry for decades, I wanted to make sure that I was being honest and telling the truth and standing in my own Black and queer power. There was a phrase that came to my mind which is, ‘Winners write the history,’ and I’ve lived long enough to have rewritten the history for myself. So that was where the morsel of the song came from. And in the pre-chorus, it says ‘Winners, write the history. So baby, I win.’ And I’m very proud of that flex. It’s a flex.”

The song lands in the wake of Porter’s 25-city nationwide tour, THE BLACK MONA LISA TOUR: VOLUME 1, which wrapped in June. The show was hugely successful with both fans and critics alike. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel wrote: “Stunning” and “one-of-a-kind,” a “rare kind of performance” with “above all else, transcendent joy.” Louisville’s LEO Weekly called the show “spectacular, inspiring, dazzling.” The Minneapolis Star-Tribune noted Porter’s “panache” and “sumptuous outfits.”

“Broke A Sweat” is the fifth offering from The Black Mona Lisa album. It follows the sultry dazzler “Fashion” and “Baby Was A Dancer,” which was in regular rotation on Gaydio and BBC’s Radio 2. Porter debuted a show-stopping performance of “Baby Was A Dancer” on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

In addition to wrapping his tour in June, Billy served as Grand Marshal at this year’s New York City Pride March, and joined forces with The Trevor Project and The Stonewall Gives Back Initiative to illuminate the Empire State Building in rainbow colors throughout Pride weekend.

Premier Road Plus VI

Reebok’s Revives ‘Premier Road Plus VI’ Retro Runner

From Archival ‘Premier Series,’ Available Now

With the introduction of the ‘Premier Series’ in 2003, Reebok sought to reconnect with its storied running heritage. The result: a series of no-frills performance running products featuring new and cutting-edge technologies that would help reinvigorate a stagnant running footwear market. Premier Road Plus arrived as part of the series that year, with new iterations introduced yearly leading up to the model’s final installment – the Premier Road Plus VI – in 2009.

Reflecting on the end of a pivotal era in Reebok performance innovation, Premier Road Plus VI returns in 2023 featuring a textile-synthetic mixed-material upper, textile lining, TPU midfoot transition plate, two-piece rubber outsole, and DMX Foam cushioning, which (as described by a 2004 Reebok Running ‘Premier Series’ catalogue) “creates dynamic cushioning through air channels molded in foam to deliver a traditional ride in a longer lasting, more lively feeling system.”

Premier Road Plus VI ($100, unisex, 100070272) is available now from Reebok.com and select retailers (with additional colorways available depending on store and location).

More on Reebok’s Premier Running Series:

Launched on February 1st, 2003, the Premier Series line of running shoes sought to reconnect Reebok with its storied running heritage. The running market at the time lacked any serious performance options and desperately craved a no frills, excellent product. Seeing this absence in the market as a perfect opportunity, Reebok created a design team comprising exclusively of runners to keep the end user front-of-mind in the design process and developed of a variety of cutting-edge technologies such as DMX Foam, DMX Shear and Play Dry to outfit the product. The brand’s intuition, product, and approach were perfect – so perfect that the line sold over 1 million pairs in its first year and earned a litany of awards for its excellence.

The first few years of the Premier Series were characterized aesthetically by a focus on metallic detailing and functionality thanks to the implementation of DMX Foam, DMX Shear and PlayDry. DMX Foam was a soft, proprietary cushioning technology that granted immense comfort to the runner. On the other hand, DMX Shear reduced the stress of the heel strike by slowing down the heel on impact. PlayDry, an apparel technology used to wick moisture and help regulate body temperature, was used as a shoe liner that absorbed moisture as it was released during a run. These technologies provided runners both comfort and functionality so successfully that David Lacorazza, the lead designer of the Premier Running Series, would go on to win a 2006 Designer of the Year distinction for his work.

Although the Premier Series was phased out in 2012 to make room for shoes donning ZigTech, Flex, and toning technology, the line’s popularity was strong enough for it to sell through 600,000 pairs each year.
