Alison Wonderland Kicks Off Headline Tour

Tonight, Alison Wonderland will launch her summer U.S. headline tour with a sold-out show at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, CO. A second Denver show has been added on August 4. The run includes concerts at Seattle’s WaMu Theatre (August 10) and Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles (August 17). See below for itinerary. Tickets are available at alisonwonderland.com.

The outing follows Wonderland’s performances at numerous festivals. Run The Trap hailed her set at Belgium’s Tomorrowland as “a work of art, unforgettable.” Dancing Astronaut named her as one of the “artists you can’t miss at Spring Awakening” and ran this Q&A with WonderlandThe Chicago Tribune said, “Alison Wonderland, the only woman appearing on a main stage this year, ushered in the evening with a buoyant set that featured her singles ‘Church’ and ‘Easy.’ Billboard ranked her performance among the Top 5 Dance Highlights at Coachella and noted, “Wonderland came to the table with nothing but a home run on the menu.”

Naming her as one of the “breakout musicians ready to rock your summer,” Elle observed, ‘Wonderland’ punctuates lyrics about self-worth and self-care with soul-thumping beats.” She is touring in support of her sophomore album, AWAKE (Astralwerks), which entered Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart at No. 1 a feat she also accomplished with her self-titled 2015 debut album, Run.

Wonderland brought her writing and producing skills to each of AWAKE’s 14 tracks and was joined in the studio by a red-hot roster of collaborators, including Joel Little (Lorde), Illangelo (The Weeknd), Party Favor (Mad Decent) and long-time friend Lido. Kaivon who found his audience with a striking series of singles based on the theme of rebirth has also remixed “Easy.” In a track premiere, YourEDM.com said, “Kaivon keeps the emotional tone while pumping up the energy just a bit, turning the more ballad-like original into a future bass climax. The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering

The Great Lancias

Founded in 1906 by racing driver Vincenzo Lancia, the Turin based automaker has cultivated a history of dynamic rally cars, invigorating racing machines, and performance-oriented street vehicles that embody true Italian flair. The first production Lancia automobile was the 28 horsepower Tipo 51 (also known as the 12 HP). After World War I, Lancia began work on the Lambda. The Lambda was a technological marvel at the time, featuring the first production monocoque construction on a road car, as well as the first use of independent suspension on a production car.

Building upon the success of the Lambda, Lancia debuted the Aurelia in 1950 in Turin. The Aurelia continued Lancia’s tradition of innovation by utilizing an industry first production V6 engine paired to another groundbreaking innovation, the rear transaxle. The Aurelia would go on to achieve class victories at Le Mans and the Mille Miglia. In conjunction with the street car division, Scuderia Lancia was launched to campaign the all new D24 race car. With legends like Juan Manuel Fangio, Alberto Ascari, and Piero Taruffi behind the wheel, the D24 would claim victory at the Carrera Panamericana, Mille Miglia, and Targa Florio.

As Lancia continued to evolve and develop their automobiles, they became legends on world wide rally circuit. Icons like the Fulvia HF, Stratos HF, 037 and Delta would dominate rally racing in the 1970’s and 80’s. Fine examples of Lancia’s street and racing machines will be showcased on the lawn of The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering this year.

Fireside Chat Profile: Laura Brown and Tamara Mellon

Laura Brown, editor-in-chief of Instyle Magazine, will participate in the “Fashion in the Fast Lane” Fireside Chat Panel. After graduating from Charles Sturt University, Brown began traveling around the world to cover the world of fashion. As the editor-in-chief of Instyle Magazine, Brown educates an audience of 30 million people on the latest trends and styles. As one of the leading voices in fashion today, Brown will be joined on stage by Tamara Mellon as they discuss the parallels between fashion and the automotive industry.

Tamara Mellon, OBE, founder of Tamara Mellon Brand, will also join the “Fashion in the Fast Lane” Fireside Chat. After being born in London, Mellon would split her time between California and the UK. A passion for style developed into careers at several fashion magazines before becoming an esteemed luxury women’s shoe designer. Mellon acts as co-founder and CCO of her namesake direct-to-consumer label.

Culinary Spotlight: New Carmel Valley Culinary Tent

Guests will enjoy a main dish of spice rubbed salmon with caramelized Meyer lemons grilled on wood slabs over the cast iron cowboy cauldron. This will be accented by marinated fregola sarda, sweet pepper and almond pesto, baby spinach, roasted cauliflower and more. Robb Talbott and the Moto Talbott Motorcycle Museum have become iconic partners of The Quail events and his Talbott Logan Pinot Noir and Sleepy Hollow Chardonnay will be paired with the offerings at the Carmel Valley tent. In addition to the diverse culinary offerings stationed throughout this year’s event, the Carmel Valley culinary tent will play host to a decadent afterparty following. Denver-based artist Nick Miller, known professionally as Illenium, has signed to Astralwerks and makes his debut on the renowned dance label with the highly personal single Take You Down. After hearing from many fans about how his music has gotten them through dark periods, he felt compelled to share how music saved his life, too, following a heroin overdose six years ago.

In a letter to fans, posted HERE, Illenium explains, “Take You Down is about my struggles with addiction and what it can do to families and loved ones. It’s more specifically about my mom, and how no matter what, she never gave up on me. To anyone struggling like I did, not just with addiction but anything in life, I hope you guys can find peace in your struggles and know that anything can be overcome. I’ve been clean since that overdose and I owe that to finding my passion and being surrounded by the most loving people I could ever ask for.

Fresh off a sold-out tour of Australia and New Zealand, Illenium will perform at Lollapalooza tomorrow, August 4. In addition to a full slate of festival performances, including Outside Lands, Bumbershoot, Electric Zoo, Lost Lands, Austin City Limits and EDC Orlando, he will play a sold-out headline show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO on August 29. Reviewing Illenium’s Coachella 2018 performance, Your EDM.com noted, “In the hour long set, Illenium played his heart out to tens of thousands of fans, some of whom were probably only at the festival to see him. Mondo Cozmo’s Tour Bus Live Sessions Video

American singer and song-writer Mondo Cozmo releases his second Tour Bus Live Sessions video that includes a performance of “Your Motherfucker.”

The video is filmed, of course, in his tour bus which is as “homey” as it gets–there’s no place like home! It presents a recording of each band member as they start to get into the music where the camera films from their angle. Not only is this different from most music videos we see, but it presents itself as unique and creative as this occurs throughout the video.
