After a successful 6 year NFL career as a former leader with the Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos, 34-year-old Marquette King has decided to pivot from punter to hip-hop star. While playing for the Arlington Renegades of the XFL, his 107.1 KISSFM interview aired. He stated, ‘I want no regrets.’ King intends to fully immerse himself into the music. In 2018, via TMZ, he jokingly says, “I could be bigger than Chris Brown…” A statement made related to the length of time it took to become a star athlete vs a professional performer.

Seven months ago, he released Sit Down, which resulted in 75,000 views. Shortly after, he dropped One or Two shots. The official audio has already received fifty-two thousand views in two months. Despite the naysayers, he continues to witness an increase in engagement and consistently builds out his repertoire. On certain tracks, he sings while on others, he raps.

Four weeks ago, he uploaded Sweet Tea to his YouTube channel. Nearly 800K views have already been accumulated. It’s obvious that this Georgian has found his voice based on the numbers. It’s one of his best, largely due to his musicality, lyrical content, and a definitive country twang.

The song was conceived after hearing his cousin’s unused track while sitting on the porch during COVID-19 lockdown. The visual storyboard for the track follows the same pattern. It’s an upbeat Americana anthem featuring a multicultural cast. Overall, the progress is evident.

As a Spotify verified artist boasting 33,910 listeners, Marquette is a bona fide musician. And, if you pay close attention to his 360 MAG podcast, his focus on creating a medley of music to make people feel good seems to be on point.

Lastly, Marquette King possesses enough self-confidence to turn down a lucrative sports contract in pursuit of becoming a global music icon. It may seem far-fetched to many, but for others, it’s no less tangible than being listed as one of the top punters in the league’s history.

In recent news, the brand named Shaq himself as President of Reebok Basketball.


“When I joined the brand back in ’92, never did I think I’d be sitting where I am today,” commented Shaq. “This is a true full circle moment for me, and I couldn’t be more proud or more excited.  I’ve had a lot of different roles in my life, but this one is probably the most special.”

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao hosts an international symposium on environmental sustainability strategies

  • On October 3, the Museum will bring together leaders from museums and foundations from all over the world to share the most innovative environmental sustainability strategies
  • Organized by World Art Foundations (WAF) in conjunction with the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, the symposium will examine environmental sustainability initiatives and good practices from prominent international museums
  • The symposium will conclude with a lecture by the artist Olafur Eliasson

On October 3, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao will bring together the leaders of international museums and foundations with the goal of presenting their environmental sustainability strategies, share good practices, and provide the participants with answers and solutions ready to implement so they can embark upon their own road to sustainability.

The symposium is being organized by World Art Foundations (WAF) in conjunction with the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao within the context of the urgency prompted by the climate crisis. It will conclude with a lecture by the internationally renowned artist Olafur Eliasson on how art can inspire climate action.

Suhanya Raffel, director of the M+ museum of Hong Kong; Whitney McGuire, Associate Director of Sustainability at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum of New York; Rosa Ferré, co-director of the TBA21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary Foundation; Juan Ignacio Vidarte, Director Genera of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao; and Daniel Vega, Deputy Director of Exhibitions and Conservation at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao are just some of the leaders participating in this event.

The symposium will take a practical approach, with a number of sessions that will examine issues like the creation of “green teams” in institutions, the need to create realistic environmental sustainability action plans, measuring the carbon footprint, financing opportunities, strategies to improve buildings’ energy efficiency, recommendations on climate control, proposals to offer visitors a more environmentally-friendly experience, managing exhibitions in line with environmental goals, and more sustainable solutions for packaging and transporting works of art.

In addition, professionals from the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao will explain in depth the environmental sustainability initiatives that have been implemented at the museum.

The symposium will conclude with a lecture by Olafur Eliasson entitled “How art can inspire climate action.” In 2020, the Museum hosted the exhibition Olafur Eliasson: In Real Life, in which the artist questioned the way we perceive our environment and reflected on timely issues like the climate emergency. Convinced that art can exert a considerable influence on the world outside museums, for years Eliasson has been involved in different artistic actions that aim to raise awareness of climate change.

World Art Foundations

World Art Foundations (WAF) is an organization founded in 2014 with the goal of creating synergies between museums and art foundations so they can share ideas, work together to solve problems, and have opportunities to make contacts within the international art community.

Environmental sustainability is one of the main commitments of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao’s 2021–2025 Strategic Plan, with the goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2030. This international symposium is framed within the Museum’s focus on sustainable development, which entails including a space for reflection on the environment and ecological awareness in its public programs and exhibition and educational programming.

A Meyers Manx Sage Vaughn Art car was up for auction at a recent Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art fundraising auction held in honor of Annie Liebowitz and sold for $200,000 on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023.

The Meyers Manx Sage Vaughn is part of a five-car series commissioned by Phillip Sarofim, founder and CEO of Los Angeles-based venture capital firm Trousdale Ventures and Chairman of Meyers Manx. While all of the body shells for the series have been completed, the remaining cars in the set will be assembled and displayed to the public. The sold vehicle is the only car in the series that has been completed. Vaughn is a Los Angeles-based artist known for his graphic, collage-like paintings.

Explaining the rationale for his donation, Sarofim stated, “Arts education is a cornerstone for fostering creativity and diversity of thought. I am so proud to see the sale of this Meyers Manx, an emblem of California’s artistic legacy, contribute to the educational programming provided by Crystal Bridges. This car encapsulates 60 years of California creativity: from its original designer, Bruce Meyers, to Sage Vaughn whose works I hold in high regard. I am so excited to unveil the remainder of this series to the public and am thrilled that this Manx is staying in Bentonville.”

This Meyers Manx Buggy is constructed utilizing the recycled chassis of a 1960s-era Volkswagen Beetle. It is representative of the historically significant buggy that Bruce Meyers designed in 1964 and that became a part of the zeitgeist of the 1960s. Meyers created the first compact, fiberglass dune buggies as well as helped popularize the sport of off-road racing after setting a highly publicized record for the fastest vehicle down the Baja Peninsula. Manx buggies, known for their superior quality and traditionally built by hand, are frequently used as a creative canvas by their builders, who are still able to purchase self-assembly kits from the company. This vehicle, the first of a series featuring artwork by Sage Vaughn, exemplifies the individualized nature of these highly personable vehicles.

The Party at Crystal Bridges brought together a variety of guests, including art industry professionals, cultural icons, and more, for an evening that raised more than $2 million in funds for the museum’s art education programs. The theme of the event, A Dance with the Light, was inspired by legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz on the occasion of the Annie Leibovitz at Work exhibition at Crystal Bridges.

Trousdale Ventures purchased Meyers Manx from the founder and original designer, Bruce Meyers, in 2020 with an eye towards rebooting the legacy brand as an electric vehicle manufacturer.
