Colonel Sanders The Muse For Iconic Designer

Kentucky Fried Chicken® has collaborated with iconic fashion designer (and KFC fan) NIGO to create a one-of-a-kind collection of quality fried chicken streetwear for the fashionable, finger lickin’ hypebeasts of the world.

As a fan of Colonel Sanders and the iconic KFC brand, Hypemaker, Hypebeast LTD’s global creative studio, worked alongside NIGO to help combine his passion for the brand and streetwear to create the Human Made x KFC Capsule Collection, a KFC twist on NIGO’s Human Made brand inspired by Americana and workwear style.

For design inspiration, NIGO visited the KFC headquarters in Louisville Kentucky, spent time at the Colonel Sanders Museum, in the KFC archives and in the kitchen learning to make the Colonel’s world famous fried chicken.

“When we heard of NIGO’s obsession with Colonel Sanders, we had to invite him for a rare tour of the Colonel’s personal archives to help inspire him,” said Steve Kelly, Director of Media and Digital Marketing. “We’re humbled to work alongside both Hypemaker and NIGO in debuting this collection and are proud to have been a small part of his creative process.”

With his entrepreneurial spirit and world-famous designs, NIGO was the perfect designer to curate KFC’s streetwear debut with a fashion line that would make the World’s Most Famous Fried Chicken Salesman, Colonel Sanders, proud.

The Human Made x KFC Capsule Collection includes a Colonel shop jacket, 70s style racing jacket, hoodies, t-shirts and more ranging from $20 to $375.

Fans will be able to purchase Human Made x KFC Capsule Collection items at a pop-up shopping experience on Friday, Nov. 16, at a KFC restaurant in Manhattan (242 E. 14th Street, New York, NY 10003). NIGO will make an appearance at the opening of the pop-up.

For those unable to make it to the shopping experience, a limited number of items will also be available on HBX.com on November 23, just in time for Black Friday, while supplies lasts. The collection will also be available at the Human Made store in Tokyo starting November 23.

Angelo David “This Place”

With so many young up-and-coming singer/songwriters in the Pop/Alternative world nowadays, it takes real genuine talent to stand out amongst the crowd and have the music world take notice. But that was just the case for Angelo David, who at only 16 has been writing and producing dynamic new tracks that brought him to performing for sold-out crowds and catch the ear of Britney Spears’ music Director Marc Delcore in 2013. Now with an EP and multiple singles under his belt including his latest “This Place” and the soon-to-be-released “The Inside”, he’s continuing to write and produce hot new tracks.
With a unique ability to convert his personal experiences to powerful lyrics and catchy musical transitions – singer/songwriter, producer, and keyboard player Angelo David began writing socially conscious songs at only 8 yrs old in his native Boston, MA.
The Britney Spears’ Las Vegas band backed Angelo at the Topsfield Fair in 2013 and he performed at Webster Hall in New York City in 2015. In September of 2017, Angelo headlined the Hard Rock stage in Boston to a sold out crowd. Over the past five years, Angelo has performed at festivals, charity events, and award shows.
Angelo released his first EP in 2013, along with his first music videos, “House Is Burning Down” (a song about being bullied) and “Mirror” (an introspection). On June 8, 2013, “House is Burning Down” trended at #4 worldwide on YouTube as one of the most popular music videos around the web. Catching the ear of Marc Delcore, music director for Britney Spears, Delcore offered to produce Angelo’s next single, “Heard it at Sunset,” a moving song about the Boston Marathon bombing. The song and video were released at the one-year anniversary of the bombing with all proceeds to benefit the One Fund.
His musical and acting talents have also been recognized by film festivals internationally. In 2014, “Heard it at Sunset” won Best Music Video at the Long Beach Indie International Film Festival and “Mirror” won Best Music Video at the Indian Cine Film Festival in Mumbai, India. In 2015, Angelo’s music video “Lonely” won Best Music Video at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival.
In 2017, Angelo was asked to write a song about togetherness for the Hatfield’s and McCoy’s Foundation, a nonprofit organization to benefit unemployed coal miner families in Kentucky and West Virginia who are struggling with depression and opioid addiction. He’s also been interviewed by NBC-10 TV, WSVN-TV Miami, Dirty Water TV, WBZ radio, the Boston Globe, GoodMusicAllDay, One Magazine, and other publications.
While he frequently continues to release new singles, including the upcoming “The Inside”, it’s certain that Angelo David is a rising talent that will continue to take the Pop Music world by storm!

Dallas Mavericks Hosts SEATS For SOLDIERS Tonight

The Dallas Mavericks, American Airlines and Nick & Sam’s are proud to partner again for the 14thAnnual Seats for Soldiers, a one-of-a-kind experience to honor our nation’s heroes. More than 100 wounded service members from Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio will join reserve troops from the Dallas/Fort Worth area to enjoy dinner at Nick & Sam’s Park Cities, as well as courtside seats at the Dallas Mavericks vs. Utah Jazz game, tonight Nov. 14, at American Airlines Center.

“Our annual Seats for Soldiers night is a reminder that we don’t get to enjoy the game we love without the incredible sacrifices our soldiers make,” said Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. “This game is one small way for the Dallas Mavericks and our season ticket holders to say ‘Thank You’ and acknowledge the bravery of the men and women in uniform.”

The concept for Seats for Soldiers originated with Dallas Mavericks season ticket holders Neal and Jamie Hawks, who, along with other front-row season ticket holders, have donated their seats – valued at $350,000 – year after year to host the wounded service members. After the game, the soldiers get the opportunity to meet and take photos with Mavericks players, coaches, dancers, ManiAACs and DJ Poizon Ivy.

The day begins with American Airlines providing charter transportation from San Antonio to Dallas/Fort Worth though Fuel Smart, the airline’s team member-led fuel conservation program that helps provide flights for injured service members, veterans and their families using funds generated through team members’ everyday actions to save fuel. In addition, American’s pilots and flight attendants volunteer their time for the occasion.

“Giving back to the men and women who serve our country is a tremendous honor for the 130,000 team members of American Airlines,” said David Seymour, American’s senior vice president – Integrated Operations, and graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. “American is honored and humbled by the sacrifice these individuals have made and it is our privilege to partner with the Mavs and Nick & Sam’s to give them a much-deserved night of great food and NBA basketball.”

After arriving at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, the group of soldiers will be treated to a four-course dinner at Nick & Sam’s Park Cities, prior to attending the Mavs vs. Jazz game. This year’s menu, created by Nick & Sam’s Corporate Chef and Partner Samir Dhurandhar, features a first course of shrimp and grits, creole crab cakes with a Cajun remoulade, prime beef egg rolls, and a sushi platter consisting of kung pao lobster rolls, crispy tuna and shrimp tempura rolls. The second course is a Caesar salad. The main course features an Allen Brothers 10 oz. prime filet with sides of mashed sweet potatoes, green beans with almonds and creamed corn maux choux. The meal concludes with Dallas Mavericks seven-layer cake, pecan pie and pumpkin pie. Beverage service will also be provided, all free of charge to the service members, and the Nick & Sam’s staff will also volunteer their time to host the group.

Kings Trade Tanner Pearson to Pittsburgh

By Reid Urban

Tanner Pearson has had his struggles this season but it looks like those struggles may have cost him his tenure in Los Angeles.

On Wednesday, the day after the Los Angeles Kings lost 5-1 to the Maple Leafs, the Kings traded Pearson to the Pittsburgh Penguins for forward Carl Hagelin. Pittsburgh is expected to retain about 6.25% of Hagelin’s contract, which amounts to $250K.

While the Kings certainly get rid of a player who hasn’t done much for them this season, they do get a speedy forward, who should be an upgrade over what Pearson brought.

General Manager Rob Blake said about the trade, “Our team is obviously not in a position that we are comfortable with in terms of how we are playing. This is a change to our line-up that gives us an additional amount of speed. With Carl Hagelin his number one asset is speed and getting to holes, and we think he will play a big role on the penalty kill for us going forward.”

In addition to that trade, the Kings have also recalled Matt Luff from the Ontario Reign.

Hagelin is likely to get his first action with the Kings on Friday when they play in Chicago.

SKYY® Vodka Partners With John Cena To Continue Its “Proudly American” Campaign

The WWE Superstar, Actor, Television Personality and Humanitarian John Cena joins SKYY’s Progressively Bold Campaign, Debuts “The Pledge” Video

See the John Cena “The Pledge” Video here!

SKYY® Vodka, the San Francisco born premium vodka in the cobalt blue bottle, announces the addition of WWE Superstar, Actor, Television Personality and Humanitarian, John Cena, to its “Proudly American” campaign. Debuting a new digital video starring Cena, “The Pledge,” SKYY continues its positive platform in telling the stories of those who believe in celebrating the spirit of today’s bold Americans.

SKYY’s “Proudly American” campaign, which launched earlier this year, explores the values–and the evolution of those values–on which America was founded, and what they mean to today’s optimistic citizens. The campaign juxtaposes iconic phrases from American culture, such as “Home of the Brave,” with powerful, vivid imagery featuring people who shine brightly in the face of adversity, celebrate diversity, and are proud to inspire today;s articulation of being American,

The campaign reflects SKYY’s core beliefs which stem from the brand’s San Francisco roots–celebrating a progressive, diverse and innovative society.

This latest phrase of “Proudly American” features John Cena narrating a lighthearted take on the nation’s traditional pledge. Inherent freedoms such as ‘writing your own history’ and ‘you being you’ are overlaid against a background of a lively and inclusive America. Pairing smart humor with cinematic style, award-winning female director J.J. Alder captures John’s entertaining and celebratory personality as he inspires all to live their version of the American dream–whatever that may be. The spot is set to the music of Jai Wolf, a Bangladeshi-American artist whose family moved to America when he was one year old.

“I have always been proud to live in a country that promises people can live love, and thrive without restrictions,” says John Cena. “I am inspired by fans every day that share their stories of conquering adversity and believing who they are. SKYY’s dedication to embracing the ever-evolving America and offering a podium to those who embody, and at times even redefine, what it means to be American is a cause I stand proudly behind.”

“John Cena exemplifies SKYY’s Proudly American persona with his incredible spirit, work ethic, charisma, and dedication to inspiring others,” says Melanie Batchelor, Vice President of Marketing, Campari America. “He uses his considerable worldwide platform to encourage inclusiveness and positivity. We are honored to partner with him to carry forward the next phrase of SKYY’s Proudly American storytelling.”

As the newest partner with SKYY Vodka on this campaign, Cena joins a growing family of influencers and activists who have helped shape the “Proudly American” message, including out-and-proud Olympian Gus Kenworthy; writer and cultural curator Kimberly Drew; and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” talents, Trixie Mattel and Dusty Ray Bottoms.

The latest chapter in SKYY’s integrated campaign will launch before Thanksgiving, and will include out-of-home, digital, social media, PR and event activations. A full social media campaign @SKYYVodka will support Proudly American and connect those who are proud in their daily lives to share their stories and show their bold, optimistic American of today.

Tzu Chi USA Spreads Love After California Wildfires

The Camp Fire, which began on November 8, is now the deadliest wildfire in California history with 44 fatalities. It razed through more than 117,000 acres in Northern California and destroyed over 7,000 buildings. The Woolsey Fire, too, has burned through more than 93,000 acres and destroyed at least 435 structures in Los Angeles County.

Once these fires started, Tzu Chi USA’s Northwest Regional Office volunteers quickly mobilized. On November 9 & 10, they distributed emergency supplies including 550 blankets to residents sheltered at the Neighborhood Church of Chico to offer residents physical comfort as the flames continue. Some slept in their own vehicles and others were forced to sleep on the lawn.

In Southern California, too, Tzu Chi volunteers assessed the situation at shelters across Los Angeles (including at the Palisades Charter High School, Taft High School, Pierce College, and Canoga Park High School) to see what they could do to help.

There is still a concern for the region’s safety, as fierce winds lingering in the region are anticipated to start two major wildfires west of Los Angeles, including one that has already killed two in Malibu. Starting Tuesday, November 13, these winds may escalate to hurricane-like force. Residents of this region are still at risk of critical danger, and Tzu Chi USA’s headquarters has already completed its first assessment and is ready for its next steps.

Until further aid may be given, Tzu Chi volunteers from across the country will head a street fundraising campaign this weekend across the US to raise funds for those who’ve suffered severe losses through California’s fires. Volunteers from Tzu Chi’s Northwestern Regional office will also continue to distribute blankets to help residents stay warm.

Still, our volunteers will need your help. Contributions can help provide someone with a warm blanket, a hot meal, or a cash card to let a family decide what they need most to move forward. Help us combat the California Wildfires and instead ignite compassion at www.tzuchi.us/donate/disaster-relief

360 Magazine: Johnny Orlando

In 2011, an eight-year-old boy in small-town Ontario posted videos with his older sister covering pop songs on YouTube. Seven years later, that boy, Johnny Orlando has a channel with 3.4 million subscribers and 5.65 million followers on Instagram.

As a kid, Orlando was quite the athlete. He enjoyed playing hockey, soccer and wakeboarding at the lake near his hometown. He always loved music but would not have described himself as a musical kid. He developed a love for music by listening to his father’s old mixtapes.

“I didn’t realize I wanted to continue and make music a career until I was a little older. I was eight years old when I started and did not really know what was going on. I remember hitting 1,000 views on my first video in a week and I was like, ‘oh my God that’s really cool!’ When I was ten or 11, I realized I loved music and wanted to pursue it as career,” Orlando said.
