Njomza Announces Signing To SinceThe80s/Motown Records

Chicago chameleon, Njomza, has announced her signing to SinceThe80s/Motown Records. The singer/songwriter celebrates the news with a brand new music video for single “Lonely Nights” which comes off her sophomore EP, VACATION, out today via Motown Records. The haunting visuals showcases Njomza’s pension for vibey R&B that compliments her syrupy vocals which coats the track throughout. The video, which first premiered via Billboard, can be seen HERE.

Speaking about the visuals, which was directed by Chad Tennies (Migos, 2 Chainz, Future), Njomza had this to say: “I had a vision for the “Lonely Nights” video and Chad helped amplify that vision. I was playing with the concept of “vacation” and how a vacation can be anywhere or anything. I can take vacation in my mind all from the comfort of my couch. The video really introduces that concept, which is a theme throughout the EP. It’s the beginning of the visual story.”

Njomza gained notoriety after Mac Miller caught one of her uploaded covers, promptly signing her to his Remember Music label. Settling in Los Angeles, she cameoed on “Planet God Damn” from Miller’s acclaimed 2016 offering, The Divine Feminine. Thereafter, 2017 saw Njomza unveil her acclaimed debut EP, Sad For You, which received early praise from the likes of Noisey, Complex, Pigeons & Planes, Office Magazine, and more. Now with a new label and a vigor to create new music, Njomza kicks off her continued rise with all new perspective.

Fun Lovin’ Criminals Release “Daylight”

Multi-platinum New York trio Fun Lovin’ Criminals return with new material for the first time since 2010 with the release of ‘Daylight’ today and upcoming UK/European ‘Another Mimosa’ tour.

A reworking of the Bobby Womack / Georgie Fame classic; ‘Daylight’ features a guest appearance from renowned vocalist Rowetta of The Happy Mondays. ‘Daylight’ is the lead single lifted from forthcoming album ‘Another Mimosa’, set for release on January 18th 2019 in the 20th anniversary year of their cult album ‘Mimosa’. A variation on the theme of the 1999 album, which became a cult classic with Crims fans for featuring clever re-imaginings of classic covers, remixes and rarities, ‘Another Mimosa’ draws on their seminal influences from the last 20 years.

“Another Mimosa is a continuation of a long tradition of the FLC paying homage to those great songwriters that we stand on the shoulders of,” notes Huey, from our love of hip hop, to soul to jazz and rock we humbly offer our fans another taste of our unique cocktail.”

Recorded in London’s Gibson Studios with life-long “fourth member”, the Grammy-award winning engineer Tim Latham (Hamilton soundtrack, A Tribe Called Quest, De le Soul, Lou Reed), ‘Another Mimosa’ is a collection of beautifully crafted, eclectic ‘original covers’. From Tom Petty’s ‘Mary Janes Last Dance’ switched up with HipHop beats and a classic Rock influence, to the raw blues of Freddie King’s “Going Down’; Ice Cube’s classic “You Know How We Do It” is made their own with Huey’s smoky drawl and the grace of Neil Diamonds’ “Hello Again” receives the FLC treatment. Alongside a high energy reworking of their own ‘Love Unlimited’ and ‘Southside’ and a brand new FLC track ‘Sunset’; its an album that turns charms and intrigues.

The Another Mimosa tour kicks off in Birmingham on the 31st January, and wraps up in Leeds on the 31st March 2019, the UK leg of the tour will also see FLC travel to Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Nottingham, Southhampton, Norwich, Worthing, Oxford and London. Tickets for the Another Mimosa tour are available to purchase here .

Still a mainstay on the festival circuit in UK and Europe, FLC are Europe’s best-loved “cousins from New York”, whip-smart story-tellers in smarter Saville Row suits who, through comically tall tales of living large in the neon metropolis, launched a career in music. They burst onto the music scene in 1996, gate crashing the euphoric Brit-pop party with unforgettable finesse. Heralded for their generation defining blend of styles and effortless Lower East Side charm, FLC’s refreshing cocktail of rock n’ roll, funk, blues, soul, hip hop, jazz and latin, gave the Crims a unique timelessness that is still apparent three decades on. The Lower East side trio consists of frontman turned Sony Award winning BBC broadcaster Huey Morgan, his founding partner Brian ‘Fast’ Leiser on bass, trumpet, keys and samples and the groups longest-standing drummer Frank ‘The Rhythm Master’ Benbini.

AJAY HOLBROOK

Ajay Holbrook, formally known as Ambreia Janee Holbrook, is a 21yro from Houston whom has been medically transitioning from female to male over the last 4 years.

Three years ago, he began bodybuilding. Since he’s recognized his newfound passion and love for this sport, he is dead bent on tackling one of the biggest titles,

“‘Mr. Olympia’ … this is especially a challenge because of who I am but I’m not letting anything stop me from reaching my goals. I insanely train and keep my body in top condition at all times. Recently, I packed up everything I owned to move to Los Angeles to pursue my careers in bodybuilding, dancing, modeling and music production. It has been one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make but also becoming one of the most rewarding.”

Dozens of challenges are constantly thrown Ajay’s way and he’s always having to overcome them. Many of which tie into his identity. “I don’t let them entertain me back… I’ve gone viral due to a Men’s Health and Generation Iron publication… And, [I] had so much support, but also a lot of backlash from the bodybuilding community in particular,” asserts Ajay.

Eager to prove naysayers wrong, Ajay has been eating healthy, training and is ready to tread on that stage very soon. “They may have thought they witnessed the last of me, but this is ONLY the beginning!!!”
