APPLE MUSIC TO BAZZI

Today Bazzi becomes Apple Music’s Up Next artist; Releases highly anticipated album COSMIC

In just a few short months Bazzi has embarked on a meteoric rise to the top of the global Pop charts. Today he officially joins Apple Music’s Up Next class of emerging, global and GRAMMY-nominated artists as he debuts his highly anticipated album, COSMIC, streaming on Apple Music right now.

In an exclusive interview with Beats 1, the 20-year-old singer described the Apple Music honor: “It’s really exciting. Things have been moving really fast. After a year of work and putting everything in order we’re here and it feels really good.” Tune in to Beats 1 right now to hear the full interview.

Additionally, on Friday, May 4, Apple Music will release a special short film featuring Bazzi as well as a brand new acoustic performance video of his hit single “Mine.”

Apple Music’s journey with Bazzi began last summer when the service’s Pop Curator Arjan Timmermans came across Bazzi while browsing Instagram. From there, Apple Music fully championed Bazzi throughout the service from radio and playlists to Beats 1. In October 2017, Apple Music was the first streaming platform to debut “Mine,” which quickly skyrocketed after placement on the popular Today’s Hits and A-List: Pop playlists. By January 2018, Bazzi held the #1 spot across all Apple Music Pop playlists.

“Bazzi’s fine sense of melody and honest storytelling capture a singular, genre-defying vision that is truly one of a kind,” said Timmermans. “He is without a doubt one of the biggest and most important new pop artists to emerge in 2018.”

This spring Bazzi will join Camilla Cabello as a special guest on the singer’s sold-out Never Be The Same Tour.

“When I first listened to ‘Mine’, it stood out from everything that was out- it sounded so honest and original and coming straight from his heart,” Cabello said. “I listened to all of his songs after that and was hooked! I think he has such an original style and it sounds so effortless for him. I think he’s a breath of fresh air in pop music and it’s been so amazing to introduce him to my fans on tour.”

Sick To Death!

This first of its kind film shows the filmmaker’s personal struggle with thyroid disease and the medical confusion and negligence that surrounds it.

The award-winning documentary Sick to Death! exposes the medical incompetence surrounding the treatment of one of America’s most common illnesses as experienced by New Orleans filmmaker Maggie Hadleigh-West, and debuted online January 18, 2018.

Sick to Death! has received a Guggenheim Award and three Impact Doc Awards prior to the world premiere sold out screenings at the 2017 New Orleans Film Festival.

“Thyroid disease is THE MOST misdiagnosed disease in American medicine, ” said New Orleans physician Dr. Charles Mary, II in Sick to Death!

“I cried when I realized I should have been diagnosed as a child, but when I realized that millions of people were sick, undiagnosed or misdiagnosed despite medical information being available, I was angry and change became my mission.” said Hadleigh-West. “The purpose of the film is to expose the problem through many people’s stories, experts, historians and statistical data.”

In Sick to Death! Hadleigh-West unflinchingly exposes her 30-year struggle to regain her health. Sick to Death! is both a call-to-action and a quirky, raw film which examines the maze most patients face in seeking treatment in today’s disturbing medical reality. This film uses thyroid disease as a metaphor for all illnesses and provides the viewer a roadmap for how to negotiate their individual health challenges.

Sick to Death! is available on VIMEO

4 Reasons Electric Cars Will Become Mainstream

As automakers try to plug into consumers’ future needs, electric cars are stirring boardroom curiosity – but not a lot of sales.

Some car manufacturers are banking on a different story in the future, though.

Electric cars comprise less than 1 percent of U.S. auto sales, yet some major automakers are planning to manufacture many more electric models in the near future. According to an article on Bloomberg.com, General Motors plans to roll out 20 models by 2023 and

Toyota 10 by early in the next decade. Researcher LMC Automotive predicts 75 electric models will be produced in the U.S. over the next five years.

“The 21st century will see the return of electric cars, as we are witnessing with Tesla, Porsche, GM, Ford, and others,” says Ted Annis, manager and co-founder of Transducing Energy Devices, LLC (www.tedmagnetics.com) in Ann Arbor, Mich. “Environmental, economical and market factors will meet to make the electric car prominent in the American culture.”

LMC forecasts gasoline-powered engines will still make up about 85 percent of U.S. new car sales in 2025, but that electric cars’ market share will continue to accelerate. Bloomsberg New Energy Finance’s Electric Vehicle Outlook 2017 projects electric cars will comprise over 50 percent in sales of new light-duty vehicles by 2035.

Annis gives four advantages of an electric car that will increase its popularity:

• Fuel cost savings. Electric cars are entirely charged by the electricity you provide, meaning you don’t need to buy any gas ever again. An average American spends $2,000 to $4,000 on gas each year. “From the gas standpoint alone, the electric car makes a lot of sense,” Annis says. “Keeping these cars charged isn’t free, but overall the electric car is far cheaper in operating costs.”

• Environmentally-friendly. Cars and trucks are responsible for roughly 24 percent of U.S. greenhouse gas pollution, according to Scientific American. With no emissions, electric cars are eco-friendly as they run on electrically powered engines. “The growing popularity of these cars is partly an outgrowth of our global environmental concerns,” Annis says. “You’ll be contributing to a green climate. And some manufacturers will offer incentives through the government for going green.”

• Low maintenance. No more oil changes, spark-plug replacements, or the many repair possibilities associated with an internal combustion engine and transmission. The electric car motor has far fewer moving parts. Brakes on electric cars receive less wear and tear. “Expensive engine work is a thing of past,” Annis says.

• Quiet. Engines of gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles contribute to noise pollution, which is harmful to health. A study published by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) reported that nearly 100 million Americans had annual exposures to traffic noise that were high enough to be harmful. Electric vehicles are extremely quiet.

“The advantages are many,” Annis says.

“Technology tailored to a changing consumer base is steadily making improvements in electric cars, and in the next decade the roads will be filled with them.”

What Should I Do after I’ve Been in a Traffic Accident?

Going through a traffic accident is a traumatic experience that can leave a lasting effect on you and your car, which might need serious collision repair after the accident. If you’ve been involved in a car crash, a surge of adrenaline is the first thing you are going to feel. After the initial kick it gives, you are left in shock and slowly start putting the pieces together.

After the shock has subsided, you are left in a very unfavorable situation of clearing up the mess. But not everyone knows who to call first, what to do and when to leave the accident. If you find out that any party has sustained an injury you need to contact the emergency services immediately.

If both parties were fortunate enough to avoid any serious injuries, this article will explain the steps you need to take immediately after an accident.

Clear the Traffic and Call the Authorities

Once you’ve made sure no one got hurt in the accident, you should move the vehicles from the road to avoid disturbing the traffic if they are still drivable. Park the vehicles and turn the engines off. If you won any safety items like warning signs or cones, set a perimeter around the vehicle. Even if your injuries might not be apparent, you might have sustained an injury like a whiplash that might not manifest right away. That’s why if you feel any pain or discomfort, stop moving until the emergency arrives. Contact the police even if the damage is minor. Their report is crucial for the insurance claim.

Exchange Information with Other Participants

After the collision shock subsides, you should make sure you exchange all the information with other participants in the crash. This information includes:

●Names and contact information
●Vehicle description including model, year and color
●License plate and drivers’ license numbers
●Insurance Company information
●Accident scene address or location
●Witness’ names and contact information
●Police officers’ name and badge ID.

Try to be polite and respectful, but never admit fault until the police have finished their report. If you have a good phone camera, take pictures of the vehicles that were involved in the crash. Make sure to get good shots of the damage and the scene. Don’t sign anything unless the police or your insurance company agents ask you to.

Contact Your Insurance Company

Before departing from the scene where the accident happened, make sure to contact your insurance company representative or agent. Be as honest as possible because you risk your claim being denied if it turns out you were lying. If you can safely drive away from the accident in your car, let the insurance
company know that. If not, the company will refer you to a towing company and probably recommend a respectable collision repair service to take care of the damage to your car.

If you are found at-fault for the accident, you will have to pay the deductible stated on the insurance policy once you’ve picked your car up at the body shop. If however, you believe the other driver was at fault don’t agree to close the insurance claim but hire an experienced attorney to represent you instead.

$uicideboy$ New Single

$uicideboy$ are back with their second single of 2018 Either Hated Or Ignored, and haters, they ain’t trying to be your fuckin’ friend. Against a hauntingly melodic electronic backdrop, the New Orleans-based rap duo delivers a raw message to its detractors. Released today by G59 Records/Caroline, Either Hated Or Ignored; is available for download/streaming HERE.

Ruby da Cherry of $uicideboy$ explains, “Either Hated Or Ignored is our favorite track from a batch of songs we recorded in late 2017 when we were starting to work on the new album. While our success has brought us respect from our fans and a lot of material rewards, that doesn’t automatically translate into happiness. We’re still looking to gain respect in the industry, but we also realize our happiness isn’t going to come out of what other people think of us. It’s something we can only find by digging deeper inside ourselves.”

The duo’s new album will be out this summer. Featured artists include Lil Wayne. $uicideboy$ have racked up more than one billion streams worldwide across their entire catalog and have more than 3.5 million followers across social media.

The duo founded by $crim and his cousin, Ruby da Cherry, in 2014 is from Louisiana’s Seventh Ward, a violent, neglected, crime-ridden section of New Orleans. Their name is a reference to a pact the cousins made: if they didn’t make it by age 30, they would end their lives. Hailed by XXL Magazine as “one of the fastest growing acts in hip-hop right now”; $uicideboy$ have played Lollapalooza and completed sold-out tours of the U.S., Europe and Asia.

$uicideboy$ make the kind of music parents just don’t get a point that the Beastie Boy Mike D recently brought home when he told Vulture, “It was weird to me that I wasn’t hearing things that my kids related to that I couldn’t embrace. When they did hit on something,I was like, Finally! When they started listening to $uicideboy$ I was like that is it. That checks the boxes. It is really loud, I can’t really relate, I don’t really want to listen to it. I understand exactly why it’s good and I see exactly the music it is combining, but I don’t need to participate and I’m good with that.”

The single FUCKALLOFYOU2K18, released in February, has more than two million streams worldwide. Video views on For The Last Time surpassed four million in less than a month. The song is part of the; Kill Yourself Part XX: The Infinity Saga, a five-EP collection released on September 11, 2017. Combined views of $uicideboy$ videos average 30 million a month.

Keep up with $uicideboy$
