WIINSTON releases video for LALA

Dark yet humorous, WIINSTON’s official video for Lala extends the single’s commentary on social dynamics in Los Angeles. Alexander Andersen, who plays Ivar the Boneless in the hit HISTORY drama Vikings, is cast as a megalomaniac TV host who continually sabotages his interviews and violates the personal boundaries of his guests in an effort to assuage his feelings of inferiority and need for recognition.

His guests include WIINSTON, an author (played by Julie Christiansen) and an actor making a comeback (played by Daniel Wagner). Producer/songwriter Alfred Thomas and singer/songwriter Daniel Richards, the two longtime friends behind WIINSTON, once again partnered with directors Joachim Morre and Sren Kahr and producer Christian Lenhart, who helmed videos for the singles Rosa, Canada, and Mio. Variance Magazine proclaimed Lala addictive and noted, It’s brimming with sunny vibes, effortlessly capturing the lure of L.A. nights, poolside romance and fast flings. VENTS Magazine hailed it as another certified slow-burning banger. Aupium observed, Lala is about the glorious & soul-crushing narcissism of Lalaland. Hillydilly said, “The Danish duo won us over with their silky soundscapes and emotional songwriting, yet, now, they’re revealing a more upbeat side of their sound with Lala.”

WIINSTON’s three previous singles: Rosa, Canada, and Mio have nearly four million streams combined on Spotify. The duo made its Capitol Records debut in February 2018 with Rosa. Earmilk praised the song and accompanying video as full of modern soul and predicted, The Danish group are slated for a massive breakout in the States.

The hypnotic Canada landed on Spotify’s tastemaker playlist Weekly Buzz soon after its release and also appeared on multiple New Music Friday playlists. The Line Of Best Fit hailed it as an expertly crafted R&B track taking cues from the pop world with its infectious hook. Mio, a hip-hop inspired song with a dreamy melody, prompted Clash Magazine to observe, Bristling with flouro-soaked tones, the sheer ambition is something to behold. All three tracks were accompanied by videos created by WIINSTON and their collaborators, which showcase their image-driven artistry
