EDEN – isohel

Vocalist/producer/multi-instrumentalist EDEN releases “isohel” today via all digital partners. “isohel” is the fourth track from his upcoming sophomore album – no future- out February 14th via Astralwerks. His wandering guitar work and gently devastating vocal performance channel the ache of reminiscence.  Download/Stream the track HERE.  A video for “isohel,” filmed in Kazakhstan and directed by EDEN’s frequent collaborators Zhang + Knight, was also released today. “Isohel’s are lines on a weather map that connect all the areas that receive equal sunlight,” EDEN explains. “Light and sunlight have been an odd obsession for me since I was a teenager; I’ve always felt like I was moving toward some unreachable horizon. The song ‘isohel’ is about wishing the best for the people you’ve left behind but knowing that you’re probably better off where you are now.”


”isohel” follows the previously released album tracks, “untitled,” “projector” and “‘love, death, distraction’ which V Magazine deems, “a hauntingly beautiful slow jam that doubles as a reflection of our relationship with our phones, brought to life by the strums of a guitar and Ng’s euphonious ennui…As with everything he creates, EDEN’s thoughtful and methodical approach can be both seen and felt. His knack for succeeding at it is what all great artists should aspire to.”


On his new album, EDEN (Dublin-bred artist Jonathon Ng) takes an outward-looking perspective with the looming threat of the climate crisis informing much of his songwriting. But while its songs often return to themes of finality and loss, no future unfolds with an unlikely splendor that ultimately makes for a transcendent listening experience. As with all his music, no future was recorded and self-produced in EDEN’s home studio in Dublin.

The visual bottles the frenetic energy of the song. Awash in blood-red hues, the band thrashes about in silhouette as distorted bass echoes amidst thunderous drums and jagged riffing. The video was shot over the course of their UK/European tour earlier last year. As the soundscape tosses and turns, singer Jamie Bower proclaims, “I’m on ‘The New Insane, you’ll never be like me’.
 
The song also arrives hot on the heels of the critically acclaimed single “It Gets Better.  The song’s positive message turned heads on both sides of the pond with KERRANG! praising the tune as “incredibly wholesome.

On their own terms, COUNTERFEIT. staked out a spot at the forefront of modern music. Igniting a catchy combo of genre bending melodies the UK outfit turned up with a universally acclaimed full-length debut in 2017 entitled Together We Are Stronger. Not only did it receive acclaim from Rock Sound, but KERRANG! proclaimed frontman Jamie Bower among the “50 Greatest Rock Stars.

Additionally, they won “Best Live Band” at the AIM Awards and received a nod in the category of “Best British Newcomer” at the KERRANG! Awards. They also smashed stages everywhere from

The official soundtrack for the first season of the Disney+ original series, High School Musical: The Musical: The Seriesis out today, available HERE. The songs from the Walt Disney Records soundtrack have already amassed over 60 million streams (audio and video combined).  The cast of HSMTMTS have performed on ABC’s Good Morning America and the ABC Christmas Day Parade.  The series, and its music, has garnered press coverage from cream of the crop media outlets such as People, Entertainment Tonight, Entertainment Weekly, E! Quinn XCII – Two 10s

Quinn XCII returns today with his new single “Two 10s” via Columbia Records. “Two 10s” is the first taste of Quinn XCII’s upcoming third album, which is set for release later this year. Along with the song, he also released the official video, directed by Symone Ridgell. The song was co-written by Quinn XCII alongside Jorgen Odegard (The Chainsmokers, Julia Michaels), Wayne Serman (Imagine Dragons), Andrew Tolman (The Moth & The Flame), and JT Daly (Paper Route).
 
“A lot of my upcoming album, as with my last single Stacy, is inspired by nostalgia – from the topics, to the sonics,” Quinn XCII says. “My newest single “Two 10s” is about asking your parents for $20 as a kid to go hang with friends, and feeling like you were rich and could do anything with it. The song has a vintage feel and I’m experimenting with a lot of new sounds and textures that I’m really excited to bring into this next album phase.”

TLE CINCO – Self Conscious

Today, Alabama native TLE Cinco drops his sophomore project Self Conscious via 300 Entertainment. According to Warren, through conservation efforts, the Grey whale population in the Pacific continues to rebound and grow. After departing from San Diego in a private plane for Scammons Lagoon, participants spend the better part of three days scanning and interacting with migrating California Gray whales by boat. This is where guests often get to actually “pet friendly whales” in their natural environment. Two nights are enjoyed at a cozy B&B in the small village of Guerrero Negro. Days Four and Five are spent desert hiking, kayaking, birdwatching and snorkeling with sea lions and dolphins. Boat excursions from Las Animas provide an added opportunity to view several types of whales, including Blue and Fin whales (the two largest species in the world).

After crossing the peninsula via a scenic 2-hour drive through the Valley of the Cirios (Valle de los Cirios), a large wildlife protection area filled with exotic Cirio cactus, guests arrive in Bahia de Los Angeles (Bay of the Angels) on the Sea of Cortez. A boat transfer follows, past bird-filled deserted islands and bays to Las Animas Wilderness Ecolodge. TOYOTA – WOVEN CITY

At CES, Toyota revealed plans to build a prototype “city” of the future on a 175-acre site at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan.

Called the Woven City, it will be a fully connected ecosystem powered by hydrogen fuel cells.

Envisioned as a “living laboratory,” the Woven City will serve as a home to full- time residents and researchers who will be able to test and develop technologies such as autonomy, robotics, personal mobility, smart homes and artificial intelligence in a real-world environment.

“Building a complete city from the ground up, even on a small scale like this, is a unique opportunity to develop future technologies, including a digital operating system for the city’s infrastructure. With people, buildings and vehicles all connected and communicating with each other through data and sensors, we will be able to test connected AI technology… in both the virtual and the physical realms … maximizing its potential,” said Akio Toyoda, president, Toyota Motor Corporation.

Toyota will extend an open invitation to collaborate with other commercial and academic partners and invite interested scientists and researchers from around the world to come work on their own projects in this one-of-a-kind, real-world incubator.

“We welcome all those inspired to improve the way we live in the future, to take advantage of this unique research ecosystem and join us in our quest to create an ever-better way of life and mobility for all,” said Akio Toyoda, president, Toyota Motor Corporation.

For the design of Woven City, Toyota has commissioned Danish architect, Bjarke Ingels, CEO, Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). His team at BIG have designed many high-profile projects: from 2 World Trade Center in New York and Lego House in Denmark, to Google’s Mountain View and London headquarters.

“A swarm of different technologies are beginning to radically change how we inhabit and navigate our cities. Connected, autonomous, emission-free and shared mobility solutions are bound to unleash a world of opportunities for new forms of urban life. With the breadth of technologies and industries that we have been able to access and collaborate with from the Toyota ecosystem of companies, we believe we have a unique opportunity to explore new forms of urbanity with the Woven City that could pave new paths for other cities to explore.” Bjarke Ingels, Founder and Creative Director, BIG.

Design of the City

The masterplan of the city includes the designations for street usage into three types: for faster vehicles only, for a mix of lower speed, personal mobility and pedestrians, and for a park-like promenade for pedestrians only.  These three street types weave together to form an organic grid pattern to help accelerate the testing of autonomy.

The city is planned to be fully sustainable, with buildings made mostly of wood to minimize the carbon footprint, using traditional Japanese wood joinery, combined with robotic production methods. The rooftops will be covered in photo-voltaic panels to generate solar power in addition to power generated by hydrogen fuel cells.   Toyota plans to weave in the outdoors throughout the city, with native vegetation and hydroponics.

Residences will be equipped with the latest in human support technologies, such as in-home robotics to assist with daily living. The homes will use sensor-based AI to check occupants’ health, take care of basic needs and enhance daily life, creating an opportunity to deploy connected technology with integrity and trust, securely and positively.

To move residents through the city, only fully-autonomous, zero-emission vehicles will be allowed on the main thoroughfares. In and throughout Woven City, autonomous Toyota e-Palettes will be used for transportation and deliveries, as well as for changeable mobile retail.

Both neighborhood parks and a large central park for recreation, as well as a central plaza for social gatherings, are designed to bring the community together. Toyota believes that encouraging human connection will be an equally important aspect of this experience.

Toyota plans to populate Woven City with Toyota Motor Corporation employees and their families, retired couples, retailers, visiting scientists, and industry partners. The plan is for 2000 people to start, adding more as the project evolves.

The groundbreaking for the site is planned for early 2021.

Halsey – NA Tour

GRAMMY® award-nominated, multi-platinum artist Halsey will launch the North American leg of her world tour on June 2 at White River Amphitheatre in Seattle, WA.

Produced by Live Nation, the headline run will include shows at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles (June 10), Forest Hills Stadium in New York (July 15), Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena (July 24) and Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre (July 27).
