Desenio AW21 Collection

Interior design group, Desenio, has launched four trend collections for autumn and winter this year, AW21. Each collection has a distinct color scheme and vibe, so no matter your taste, there is a fit for everyone. Easily match prints together to create a beautiful gallery wall and find your favorites in all of their palettes.

WOODLAND RETREAT

The Woodland Retreat trend invites you to imagine taking time to experience the purity of nature. Walk through dewy forests filled with birdsong, breathe in the cool, pure air, and take time for yourself.

“Sustainability and natural materials continue to be a huge trend in interior design. The Woodland Retreat trend ties together rustic elegance with an eco-friendly approach to design,” says Annica Wallin, Executive Creative Director at Desenio.

If you feel at your calmest when surrounded by nature, this is the trend for you. Complete the look by adding luscious plants and cozy textures to a room that features the Woodland Retreat collection of wall art.

CLASSIC CONTRASTS

The Classic Contrasts trend is all about juxtaposing shapes and textures for the ultimate elegant touch. Mix soft beige shades with defining darker tones for a balanced, classic finish.

“The Classic Contrasts collection hones into one of the key interior trends we’re seeing for AW21. Timeless elegance takes a modern twist to bring about a refreshing take on the monochromatic look,” says Annica Wallin.

If you’re someone who prefers to choose statement pieces rather than gravitate towards the latest styles, the Classic Contrasts collection is the perfect choice. After choosing your favorite prints, add the  monochromatic accessories to your home to achieve a sophisticated look.

ROMANTIC REBELLION

The Romantic Rebellion collection enables you to bring your personality to life in your home by choosing art that’s as bold as you are. Whether you want to create a beautiful thematic experience in your dining room or add radiant pinks to your bedroom, it’s time to get creative and reimagine your walls.

“The Romantic Rebellion trend is a chance to embrace glamour and opulence within your interiors. Baroque imagery is remixed with a modern and edgy twist to create a playful vibe,” says Annica Wallin.

The Romantic Rebellion collection is the choice for you if you want to make your home feel glamorous and feminine with a hint of edginess. Pinks, purples, and hints of gold is the way to embrace this to its fullest. Alternatively, you can go for a more pared-back look by choosing prints as statement pieces in a more minimalistic room.

SOFT MOMENTS

The Soft Moments trend is about breathing into the present and resetting your space with warm tones and relaxing neutral prints. Sink into soft blankets with a hot drink and a good book because the world can wait.

“The Soft Moments trend collection celebrates elegance and serenity through a curated and clean nordic style with a Japanese touch. Natural browns and shadow grays come together to create a comforting, natural, and modern space where one can be at peace,” says Annica Wallin.

Choose the Soft Moments collection if you crave a calming space to retreat to after a hectic day. The quotation prints from get you in the right headspace and you can style your room with neutrally-toned accessories for the ultimate zen.

Popular Wall Art Types to Display in Your Home

By: Paul Williamson

Walls are the perfect way to harmoniously unite your interior while transforming the entire feel and tone of your home.

However, one issue many homeowners struggle with when it comes to decorating their walls is choosing the perfect wall art decoration. This is mainly because there are so many types, which makes people feel uncertain about which one will best fit into their decor.

To help you make the right decision, here is a brief list of the five most popular wall art types you can display in your home.

Canvas prints

If your home is decorated following a modern or traditional interior design style, canvas prints are an excellent choice. They are very versatile as they come in many sizes, colors and designs. You can easily match or contrast your canvas prints with the rest of your decor. You can hang canvas prints above the living room sofa or your bed to make them the focal point in the room.

Wall mirrors

Wall mirrors have recently become a very popular wall art decoration. A major reason is because they have the ability to reflect light, which helps increase brightness in the living space and widen even the smallest, darkest rooms in the house. They also come in many sizes, shapes and designs, and can be flawlessly incorporated into every room of your home.

Tapestries

If you are looking for an original wall art decoration, then tapestries are the perfect option for you. One of the reasons why people choose them to refresh their interior is because they can add art and color to a room without having to paint the walls. They are also available in any size and shape, and can be hung in many creative ways.

Hanging plants

If you want to avoid hanging traditional pieces of art, you have the option of decorating your walls with hanging plants. The best thing about this wall art type is that you can be innovative. You can make your own art display using plants and various colored flowers. You can also opt for multicolored plant pots to hang from rope or a wooden branch.

Lighting fixtures

Another less traditional wall art type you can opt for are lighting fixtures. You can find them in many sizes, shapes and styles. You can place lighting fixtures either next to or above another wall art decoration to illuminate it’s presence. Wall sconces are among the most popular types of lighting fixtures, of which you can easily incorporate into a living room gallery wall.

Final thoughts

Having a well-decorated wall is the perfect way to provide a homey finishing to your living space. It gives you the opportunity to make your home both polished and functional at the same time. In case you need inspiration, you can use our post as a reference to choose the most suitable wall art decoration for your interior.

AEDITIONS INTERIOR DESIGN STUDIO

AEDITIONS launches art-infused, one-of-a-kind, décor & furniture

In a creative step for two illustrious London brands, Bergman Interiors and HOFA Gallery are launching AEDITIONS, their new joint design project on May 20 2021. Inspired by their appreciation for contemporary art and bespoke luxury interiors, AEDITIONS will specialize in creating one-of-a-kind décor and furniture designs in collaboration with the world’s most remarkable contemporary artists and designers.

This new bespoke interior design studio is spearheaded by Bergman Co-founder Marie Soliman and HOFA Co-founder Elio D’Anna, and is set to release a range of collectable limited-edition designs including consoles, table lamps, standing mirrors, mini bars and the deluxe ‘Lapis’ Chessboard set designed by Soliman herself.  With remarkably intricate details, uber-luxe finishing, and excellent craftsmanship, each creation will be a work of art in its own right. Moreover, all 50 limited editions of each design will be accompanied by a certificate of authentication, in addition to being numbered and signed by the artist.

Among the first designs to be released this spring are creations by celebrated sculptural painter, Zhuang Hong Yi, whose signature 3-dimensional flowerbed paintings are coveted for their sensational color vibrance and emphatic homage to flowers. Hong Yi has created unique table light, chair and console designs fit for any nature-lover’s dream. The phenomenal Ilhwa Kim, painter of sculpted, biomorphic seed universes, will also début a cigar and mini bar design which encapsulates her unique vision of nature and the subjectiveness of perception.

Prolific contemporary portraitist and surrealist painter Loribelle Spirovski, is also part of the maiden cohort of artists, with her unmistakable artistic style beautifully embodied in the ‘Emissary Mirror & Screen Divider’, which features a unique silkscreen print and brass finishing, and the ‘Homme Table Lamp’ made of elegant Carrara marble and steel.

Commenting on the launch, Co-founder of AEDITIONS Marie Soliman said, “AEDITIONS creates an entirely new and interactive way of experiencing art. It’s the possibility of creating unique luxury interior designs that fuse art and function that drives the whole concept.”

Echoing the same sentiments, Elio D’Anna, Co-founder of AEDITIONS, said, “Combining art, design and interior décor is what AEDITIONS will be about, and each collection will be impeccably designed and exquisitely made. We have created a bold, new way for people to incorporate fresh contemporary art into their home interiors.”

How to Avoid Disgusting Bathroom Smells

The bathroom is probably the most challenging area to maintain at home. It usually smells bad. If you want to avoid a disgusting bathroom smell, these tips will help.

Use air fresheners

You can use air fresheners to help maintain a good scent in your bathroom. The problem is that some fresheners contain chemicals that might damage your health. The good thing is that there are organic options available. If you can find them, they’re perfect for your bathroom. Make sure you only spray a little each time, there’s no need to coat your floor with air freshener. Keep your children and pets away from the bathroom while you spray. Don’t allow them to come inside for a while.

Maintain good ventilation

Allow good ventilation in your bathroom. The key is to use a vent fan since it keeps the foul smell away. It also helps to keep the door open when no one is using it. If someone uses the bathroom, it won’t have a terrible smell anymore.

Keep the towels dry

You might not be particular about it, but damp towels can also lead to a bad smell. Make sure that the towels are dry all the time. After using one, you should put it in the laundry bin. Don’t keep it in the bathroom because wet towels will produce a bad smell. Remind your entire family about this so that they become responsible.

Light a candle

Look for scented candles that you can light to keep the bathroom smelling good. The smoke that comes from the candle can help neutralize the odor. However, some scented candles may contain harmful chemicals. Therefore, you have to be careful in choosing which candles to use. The good thing about having a scented candle in your bathroom is that even if you don’t use one, it looks good. It can be a part of your bathroom decorations.

Clean the bathroom regularly

The best way to keep your bathroom free from bad smells is by cleaning it regularly. Empty the bin each day. Feminine products, wet wipes, and used tissues may cause a terrible odor. You also have to wipe the toilet bowl and sink. There are times when they may look clean, but they’re not. Make it a habit to clean your bathroom a few minutes each day before you bathe. Otherwise, you will spend a long time cleaning the bathroom during the weekends.

Invest in quality bathroom furniture

While you’re thinking about ways to improve your bathroom, you should consider investing in bathroom furniture. Imagine having a new freestanding bath or bathroom enclosure. They will be perfect for making your bathing experience more comfortable. You can check them out at JT Spas.

You won’t have to deal with a disgusting and messy bathroom anymore once you implement these changes. Try to be consistent in following these strategies. Otherwise, it will only take a few days before the disgusting odor comes back. Your family members should also try to do their share of bathroom upkeep.

GRAPHIC ART TRENDS FOR 2021

Artwork is often the center of a home and brings life and character to a space. As time progresses, artwork trends change and as the new season approaches new art trends are arising.

With the start of a new year, Desino is excited to present the graphic art trending this spring! Abstract art is at the forefront for the coming season, with organic shapes, arches and geometric lines adding an artsy element to our walls. Check out the latest graphic prints created by our very own Design Studio.

ARCHED DESIGNS

The rounded arch can be spotted through architectural history, and this year the classic curved shape is leading the way in the interior world. Arched furniture, doorways and home accessories are being spotted everywhere! This spring we’ll be decorating our walls with arched designs that bring a classic and stylish feel to our homes. Many people have used the arched design as a makeshift headboard, a DIY that blends in with the trends.

ORGANIC SHAPES

For abstract art lovers, the organic shapes coming this spring are the perfect addition to your walls! Featuring warm, earthy tones, this graphic art featuring soft shapes and curves will bring a fresh feel to your gallery wall. These pair perfectly with less abstract pieces of art and tie together any gallery wall.

FIGURATIVE FUTURE

In contrast to the abstract art trending right now, figurative art is coming on strong this season. With a more simplistic approach to this art style, we’re loving these simple portrait drawings honoring our human shapes. These pieces of art encapsulate the beauty of human features.

GEOMETRIC STRIPES

Monochrome art complements all kinds of interior styles and this season we’re embracing these geometric patterns in black and white. A great choice if you want a modern accent piece for your wall, these graphic prints will look great in minimalist and colorful homes alike. Pairing these with silhouettes, as seen in the gallery wall below, instantly creates a beautiful contemporary wall.

Graham & Brown Announces Wallpaper and Color of 2021

GRAHAM & BROWN ANNOUNCES WALLPAPER AND COLOR OF THE YEAR 2021

Each year, the UK’s leading wallpaper and paint specialists, Graham & Brown, announces its Wallpaper of the Year and Color of the Year. Drawing upon seventy five years of design and manufacturing experience in the field, the in-house design studio identifies key movements in the interiors sector and forecasts the future trends that will shape the Graham & Brown collections for the coming months.

Launching the 2021 collection from its design headquarters in Blackburn in a globally streamed digital showcase, the heritage brand presented Wallpaper of the Year: Timepiece and Color of the Year: Epoch, an expert fusion of archive material and contemporary components.

GRAHAM & BROWN WALLPAPER OF THE YEAR 2021: TIMEPIECE AMETHYST
Full of movement, color, and exuberance, the Graham & Brown Wallpaper of the Year marks the start of the 75 Anniversary celebrations of the brand which will run throughout 2021. Piecing together fragments from the Graham & Brown archive, Timepiece is an amalgamation of prints dating from 1946 to the present day. The result is a bold, innovative wallpaper that represents the essence of the Graham & Brown design philosophy.

Timepiece evokes an environment that is opulent, glamorous, and indulgent. Reminiscent of the lavish blooms and tangled stems of Dutch flower painting, the rich, jewel-toned color palette is enlivened with flashes of sunlit petals and vividly striped tulips. Hyacinth florets form an inviting textural juxtaposition to the large-scale arrangements featuring elegant magnolia blooms.
In addition to the Amethyst colorway, Timepiece is also available in Moonstone and Midnight palettes. For the first time ever the design can also be produced as a made-to-measure bespoke Mural of the Year: Timepiece, highlighting just how far wall covering production has developed from the fixed repeat surface print machines of 1946.

The Wallpaper of the Year and Color of the Year are shining examples Graham & Brown’s perfectly partnered paint and wallpaper offerings. Each wallpaper in the extensive Graham & Brown collection is mirrored by a perfectly matched hero paint color and three coordinating hues for a complimentary full room solution. Complementing the Wallpaper of the Year is the Color of the Year: Epoch, along with partnering shades Spiced Mulberry, Fondue, and Whale Tail.

“Design innovation has always been the driving force and the heartbeat of Graham & Brown throughout the years. The studio team love to delve into the pattern and print archives and discover hidden treasures that we can then reimagine with modern production techniques and new color compositions, presenting a twist on the latest interior trends. A great deal of craftsmanship goes into the making of each archive artwork and we believe that is something to be cherished and celebrated,to be able to breathe new life into this material and let it have a new place within our history is something we love to do.”

-Maryanne Cartwright, Design Studio Manager at Graham & Brown

GRAHAM & BROWN COLOR OF THE YEAR 2021: EPOCH

To complement the Timepiece wallpaper design, Graham & Brown has announced its Color of the Year 2021: Epoch. A directional shade of plum, Epoch pinpoints the richest purple tone in the Timepiece wallpaper and amplifies it, channeling the revelry, regality, and luxury associated with the shade. A calming, cocooning tone, Epoch echoes a wider interior trend which looks to create restful spaces for healthier, happier homes.

“Time is an overarching theme that winds its way through each thread of our 2021 Trends Forecast. As the world we live in continues to shift and evolve at an ever-increasing rate, we look toward the future through the lens of nostalgia. We’ve explored how the future has been envisioned throughout history and how time is often considered the most precious commodity of all. Both Timepiece and Epoch contemplate on the passing of time and what can be discovered should we embrace the opportunity to recharge, reflect, and rediscover our history.”

-Paula Taylor, Color & Trends Specialist at Graham & Brown

Abby Hesketh, Product Manager and Paint & Color Specialist at Graham & Brown has shared her expert tips for styling the Graham & Brown Color of the Year: Epoch within the home:

● “Tonal pairings are a great way to make use of rich, expressive shades while still keeping things fairly safe. Epoch works brilliantly when used as a feature wall partnered with lighter hues of lavender and heather – this will soften the impact of the darker color while ensuring that all walls of the room tie together cohesively.

● If drama is your goal, then try pairing Epoch with other equally vivid colors. Partnering Epoch with shades of teal will result in an opulent, peacock-inspired look, while adding pops of peach can shape a playful yet sophisticated space.

● Color-blocking is a creative way to incorporate Epoch into a space. Below you’ll see a super easy geometric design using just three Graham & Brown paints – Epoch, Spiced Mulberry, and B aby Powder; the result is a light and airy feature that would make a fun addition to a kid’s bedroom, playroom, or even a lounge.

● A trend we’ve noticed gathering momentum is pale walls paired with skirting boards and doors painted in a darker shade. This is a great way to highlight the architectural features of a room and adds a cozy element while still building depth and structure as we head into the autumn and winter months. Use Epoch across all the woodwork within a room and pair with either a lighter shade of purple for a sophisticated tonal scheme, or with a mid-grey with warm undertones for lightweight feel.

● Finally, consider creating a drop ceiling effect by using Epoch on the ceiling but then continuing the color down to picture rail height – this is one of my favorite interiors trends and will work well with any of the perfectly partnered Graham & Brown paint shades.”

About Graham & Brown:
For over seventy years, Graham & Brown has inspired people to think differently about their walls through continuous innovation, creativity, and craftsmanship. Founded by two friends – Harold Graham and Henry Brown, the business has been family-run from its Headquarters in Blackburn,Lancashire since 1946.
