The Spider-Verse Is Coming To A End via Mark Bagley for use by 360 MAGAZINE

END OF SPIDER VERSE

THE END OF THE SPIDER-VERSE IS UPON US! In the aftermath of EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE, the upcoming limited series that explores and introduces Spider-heroes from across the multiverse, comes a new ongoing series by two of Spider-Man’s most legendary creators—Dan Slott and Mark Bagley! Just in time for Spider-Man’s 60th anniversary, the two Spidey masterminds will be teaming up for the first time on Spidey to unleash the full potential of the Spider-Verse and its beloved heroes in SPIDER-MAN #1! The new saga will kick off when a threat emerges that will change the fate of Peter Parker and all his fellow Spider icons such as Spider-Woman, Ghost-Spider, Miles Morales, Silk, and more, including the new heroes that will debut in EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE. The series will also tie directly into the events of Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr.’s AMAZING SPIDER-MAN run, picking up plot elements such as Spidey’s new costume and his mysterious association with Norman Osborn!

Morlun is back and he is not alone. Allied with one of the most powerful beings known to the Spider-Verse, the scariest Spider-Villain of all time is making his biggest play and no Spider is safe. Especially not the Chosen Spider himself, Peter Parker. With Peter working for Norman Osborn and using a glider…does he have it coming?

Here’s what Slott had to say about his grand return to Spider-Man:

“How does it feel to be writing Spider-Man again? Like I’m home. Like there’s nowhere else I’d rather be. How does it feel to be working on it with Mark Bagley, one of the greatest Spidey icons of all-time?! Honored, excited, and unstoppable! Mark and I are two guys who live to tell Spider-Man stories. Cut us and we bleed Spider-Man. And now Marvel has entrusted the two of us to bring back their monthly– adjectiveless– SPIDER-MAN title!

“We are not going to let you down. We’re going to take BIG swings in each and every issue! And the first thing we’re doing, right out of the gate, is the Spider-Verse comic to END all Spider-Verse comics!

“THE END OF THE SPIDER-VERSE will see Peter, Miles, and your favorite characters from previous Spider-Verse stories, along with all-new characters from the upcoming EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE mini, slam them all together, and bring the entire SPIDER-VERSE saga to a fiery close! It’s going to have lots of action, surprises, but most of all, it’s going to have a lot of heart! Even though this story will be epic, it will also have a profound effect on Peter Parker. You are not going to want to miss this!”

“Dan and I have been wanting to work together for years, and having the opportunity to be the artist that is there to wrap up his Spider-verse storyline is really exciting,” Bagley added. “Further, I’m thrilled to see where this book takes us from there.”

Be there for the latest evolution of the Spider-Man mythos when SPIDER-MAN #1 swings into shops this October! For more information, visit HERE.

DAVID BOWIE LP

AVAILABLE FOR THE FIRST TIME AS LIMITED EDITION PICTURE DISC

RELEASED JANUARY 29, 2021 BY UMe/DECCA/DERAM EXCLUSIVELY VIA HERE.

Deram Records originally released David Bowie‘s self-titled debut album on June 1, 1967, the very same day as The Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club Band. While it was not a hit at the time, over the past 50 years it’s gained a reputation for being a perfect snapshot of the time and has earned plaudits for being one of the first contemporary pop albums to be sung in an English accent. Bowie himself revisited songs from this era in 2000 re-recording the likes of “Silly Boy Blue” for an album called Toy which remains unreleased.

The album may not have been a huge success but there were music writers who saw something in Bowie, the NME called it “All very refreshing” and that he was “a very promising talent.”

The biography prepared at the time describes David Bowie thus “His remarkable powers of observation enable him to write with humour and wit about the people, loved and unloved, and the attitudes, lovely and unlovely, that constitute today’s society. A recent bout of ‘flu enabled him to pen half a dozen songs to go on a forthcoming Deram LP. In fact, David is one of the very few artists commissioned for an album before a single. Simultaneously, David is writing songs and situations for a colour film in which he is to star and putting the finishing touches to a unique cabaret act.

The album will be released for the first time as picture disc on January 29th and will be made available exclusively HERE.

ABOUT DAVID BOWIE

David Bowie was an English singer-songwriter and actor. He was one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, and was acclaimed by critics and musicians for his work during the 1970s. In the UK, he was awarded ten platinum album certifications, eleven gold and eight silver, and released eleven number-one albums. In the US, he received five platinum and nine gold certifications. In addition, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996, and Rolling Stone placed him among its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. Naming him the “Greatest Rock Star Ever” following his death in 2016.

On April 24, 1992, Bowie married English musician Iman (a Somali fashion model, actress and entrepreneur) in Lausanne, Switzerland.  They have one daughter, Alexandria Zahra Jones, born August 15, 2000 in New York City. Iman is also stepmother to Bowie’s son from a previous marriage, Duncan Jones.

Sadly, on January 10, 2016 Bowie passed away from liver cancer in his New York City apartment. He had been diagnosed 18 months earlier but had not made the news of his illness public. He is a legend that will be remembered for years to come and has permanently left a mark on the music industry.

M.O.D.O.K. HEAD GAMES

Showrunners for the upcoming Hulu series about the popular Marvel villain M.O.D.O.K. will also spearhead a brand new comic series with the character as the lead.

M.O.D.O.K. HEAD GAMES comes from Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum, who will showcase the leader of the terroristic organization AIM.

M.O.D.O.K. will be outsmarting the rest of the Marvel universe on his way to victory and domination, but this story is a bit more personal. He is haunted by memories of a family he doesn’t know, putting his power, and his brain, at risk.

You can see everything Oswalt and Blum had to say about the supervillain story in an exclusive interview from Marvel by clicking right here. You can also see brand new, never-before-seen pages of the interior of the books from Scott Hepburn, the artist of the upcoming run.

Oswalt said the writers of the show created such an amazing world for M.O.D.O.K. that they had to go further.

“We had so much creativity to burn that Jordan just said we should fill this in in a four-issue comic series as a background. I always love that, to be able to go even deeper into that world,” Oswalt said.

Blum added that he was excited to write the 616 version, or our world’s version, of M.O.D.O.K. specifically.

“We leapt at the chance to write the M.O.D.O.K. who had been there since Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and put our spin on him and pull from a lot of the other versions of M.O.D.O.K. in the past. The character is very flexible and I think you can do a lot with him,” Blum said.

The premiere issue of the series will hit shelves of comic book shops everywhere Dec. 2, and you can keep an eye out for the series starring the historic villain streaming on Hulu in 2021.

To find a comic book shop near you, you can click right here.

You can also follow Patton Oswalt on Twitter and Instagram, and you can follow Jordan Blum on Twitter.

New West Symphony Concert

To honor the heroes among us, as well as those who have come before, the New West Symphony will be holding a free Memorial Day Concert on May 25. The virtual concert, which will be broadcast LIVE from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and will take place live at 7 p.m.

People who register are invited to submit the name of a service member, in memory or living; and their name will be shared during the live event.

Memorial Day is a time to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives in the defense of freedom. They are among our nation’s heroes, said Symphony CEO Natalia Staneva. Today, as we confront a war of a much different kind, other heroes are emerging who are putting their own lives on the line in a courageous battle against the coronavirus. This live, online concert is designed to help celebrate those who make us proud by their unselfish actions, their incredible spirit and their uncommon sense of purpose.

The virtual Memorial Day concert comes on the heels of the New West Symphony highly acclaimed virtual Mother’s Day concert, which was viewed by more than 5,000 people.  As with that concert, the May 25 performance is being curated and will come under the direction of GRAMMY-winner and Music Director Michael Christie.

Program highlights will range from patriotic favorites America the Beautiful, You’re a Grand Old Flag, America and others to Copland poignant songs Zion Wall. At the River and Simple Gifts to Bernstein
Somewhere from West Side Story. These and other numbers will be lovingly performed by Sean Chen of Oak Park at the piano, Woodland Hills raised soprano Jessica Rivera and New West Symphony musicians. A bugler from the Air National Guard Band of the West Coast will close the concert next to the Reagan Library Gold Star Families Memorial Monument.

As with all performing arts organizations, the New West Symphony has had to creatively pivot its artistic endeavors to comply with state guidelines regarding social distancing and avoidance of large gatherings. To help music lovers continue to enjoy the beauty of music, each week Maestro Christie collects some of his favorite music performances including his personal video introductions and posts them on Michael Christie’s Jukebox. In addition, the New West Symphony is continuing to create original content and making it available online through social media, the blog and at NewWestSymphony.org.

We are looking forward to the day when we can once again gather in our concert halls for the shared experience and lifting of the human spirit that music uniquely brings, said Staneva. Until then, we will continue to find creative and engaging ways to bring the joy of music to our community as we together navigate these difficult and uncharted waters.

The New West Symphony is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary season. It draws its players from the rich talent pool of accomplished Los Angeles-area musicians and performs under the artistic direction of GRAMMY-winner Maestro Michael Christie. Its mission is to inspire passion for symphonic music through live performances and education initiatives that engage and enrich its diverse audiences. Mariah Carey – “Hero” Petition

DOCTOR FROM HOMETOWN OF SUPERSTAR MARIAH CAREY WANTS SONG “HERO” DEDICATED TO LONG ISLAND’S TENS-OF-THOUSANDS COVID-19 HEALTHCARE WORKERS

A doctor from Huntington, Long Island, the birthplace and childhood home of Mariah Carey, wants her to perform her “Hero” dedicated to the Long Island healthcare workers fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.  Dr. David Buchin, Director of Bariatric Surgery at Northwell Health-Huntington Hospital, is launching a petition for the Grammy-Award winning artist to help boost morale and awareness for healthcare heroes. Huntington is among the hardest hit New York City suburbs, with thousands of cases of COVID-19.

Mariah Carey, a 1987 graduate of Harborfields High School, had to put her big 50th birthday (March 27) celebrations on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. In 2001, in the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, “Hero” became an anthem for the police, firefighters, and emergency personnel responding and helping America recover. Now, as America faces another crisis and acts of hospital heroism are spreading on social media, healthcare workers are worthy of the badge “hero.”

Petition: Mariah Carey: Perform Your Hit-Song “Hero” & Dedicate to Healthcare Heroes!
