DIESEL SS23 PRESENTATION VIA 360 MAGAZINE

DIESEL – SPRING/SUMMER 2023

WATCH THE SHOW NOW.

The Diesel democracy: denim, utility, pop and play, debuting in front of an audience of nearly 5,000. Experimentation for everybody, energy that’s inclusive; this 21st century Diesel reboot has only just begun. It’s a show that breaks a Guinness World Record: at the heart of the runway is the world’s largest ever inflatable sculpture.

“I wanted to open Diesel up to the public, for people who may never have been to a fashion show before. They deserve a spectacle, so we’ve broken the record for the biggest inflatable sculpture in the world. It’s what I believe about the fashion and the state of mind – everybody can be part of Diesel,” says Glenn Martens, creative director of Diesel.

Democratic fashion is everything, with experimentation and subversion for every single day. Denim devoré is created by weaving denim onto a transparent base, like the devoré corset waist of low-slung denim pants. The effect is also created with denim knits, while part-solarised denim is like it’s been left out in years of hot summer sun.

Denim is roughly embroidered with a layer of tulle that’s then torn, while totally distressed denim is held by stitching lines and a sheer lining to bring control to the destruction.

There’s also denim that’s been bonded with a layer of cotton then acid washed, revealing the denim once more. Scans of distressed denim have been taken to create second-skin trompe-l’oeil prints, while many pieces throughout the collection are trimmed with raw denim for pure Diesel energy.

Utility pants with supersized pockets are solarised for attitude, satin cargo pants are future perfect, while little fluid tops are held by wide utility belts. Nylon utility jackets and flying pants have cotton layers that are then cut away; dresses and pants are made from organza layers which are then cut open; double-layer printed T-shirts have smiley holes cut into the top layer to reveal the print beneath.

Acid floral slip dresses are trimmed with lace, as are tank minidresses with frill at the neck and arm. Vivid knits are coated then cracked open, like metallic pop dresses, or sleeveless vests fastened by hook-and-eye. Plasticised denim is waterproofed like jelly, creases left intentionally undyed, and metallic printed coats are like a city reflected in chrome.

Bonded leather jackets are cut with raw edges. Diesel Library denim pieces are bonded and encased in layers of rough-cut denim. Artisanal denim pieces are cut and distressed as if the denim is turning into fur; an artisanal coat is made entirely from over 15,000 distressed and brushed Diesel labels.

Slip-on denim heels have utility pockets to make going out easy. Strappy sandals have sporty soles, while patent boots are finished with a metallic D. Men’s flip-flops are moulded, while Prototype sneakers are cut open for summer. 1DR bags are medium or micro, while D-vina bags are tricked out with sparkling charms, or reimagined with a moulded D.

This season’s Diesel Eyewear collection is a special collaboration with EssilorLuxottica, launching exclusively through Diesel networks in February 2023. Each style, from aviator to wraparound, has colour edging and metallic temples finishing on a perfect D. One limited edition model has been exclusively developed for Diesel Runway and only 55 units will be immediately available through preorder on diesel.com with delivery in November 2022.

The result is a collection of songs that push forward through setbacks and focus on the possibilities worth remembering. Scaled And Icy is Twenty One Pilots’ first studio album in three years and follows their RIAA Platinum certified LP, Trench.

In 2020, Twenty One Pilots surprised fans with standalone singles “Level of Concern“ and “Christmas Saves The Year.” ”Level of Concern” reigned at Alternative Radio for 12 weeks straight and cracked the Top 25 on Billboard’s “Hot 100”chart, while also achieving RIAA Gold certification, and propelling the band to victory at last year’s American Music Awards where they took home the award for “Favorite Artist – Alternative Rock.” ”Christmas Saves The Year” arrived at the tail end of 2020 and debuted on Billboard’s “Alternative Airplay” chart, becoming the first holiday-themed song to make the list since 2012.

Twenty One Pilots scored one final accolade in the final moments of 2020, officially breaking the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for the longest music video with their history-making regenerative visual for “Level of Concern.” Conceived by the band with interactive director Jason Nickel, and award-winning storyteller / director Jason Zada, the first-ever “Never-Ending Music Video” pulled in fan created content from over 162,000 user submissions, in real time, live on YouTube Powered by Imposium, every three minutes and forty seconds a new music video was created and streamed live to YouTube, containing brand new content from fans. Twenty One Pilots’ 2018 LP Trench ushered in a new era for the duo from Ohio Earning Platinum certification from the RIAA, the album was met with critical acclaim with Billboard declaring, “Trench revels in the confounding genre-blurring and cavernous conceptualism that has defined Twenty One Pilots.” A true global phenomenon having surpassed two billion streams worldwide, Trench is highlighted by the RIAA Gold and Platinum certified alternative hits “The Hype,”“Chlorine,”and “Jumpsuit.” “Jumpsuit” stands as the decade’s fastest rising song to reach #1 on Billboard’s “Alternative Songs”chart and earned the duo their fourth GRAMMY nomination (Best Rock Song). G-SHOCK x Clear Camo Collection

Today, Casio announces the release of a new line-up of men’s G-SHOCK models with striking translucent, metal camouflage prints. The new models share the strength and design features of three of G-SHOCK’s most popular silhouettes, the origin G-SHOCK 5600, the DW6900, and GA110, bringing a nostalgic, yet eye-catching new look to these iconic models.

The new transparent camo series arrive in a one-of-a-kind look with a premium, laser-engraved camouflage metal bezel and fully translucent camouflage-printed band. The GM5600SCM-1 features the renowned square case of the original G-SHOCK, while the GM6900SCM-1 and GM110SCM-1A bring superior strength in updated styles with forged metal bezels that accentuate the translucent camouflage pattern.

In addition to this updated look, the latest line-up from G-SHOCK comes with the brand’s most up to date technical capabilities, including an EL backlight to provide enhanced visibility for any time of day, and the GM110SCM-1A boasting magnetic resistant technology.

G-SHOCK released a new watch just this past month. The 360 MAGAZINE announced that “G -SHOCK announces the release of the MTGB1000VL-4A, an all-new, limited-edition to the popular MT-G line up of premium men’s watches. The new model boasts a striking, multi-colored design and rainbow ion-plate bezel that represents volcanic lightning.”

The G-SHOCK watches are revolutionary for the Casio offering “electric shock resistance, gravity resistance, low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, water resistance, shock resistance and toughness,” according to the companies site. The G-SHOCK watch was created by Casio engineer, Kikuo Ibe, in 1981 when he had broken a pocket watch his father had given him.

He then set out to make a watch that could go through stress without breaking. After 200 prototypes, Ibe released the G-SHOCK watch.

Since the creation, multiple models have been released offering something for every one. His watch has truly proved to be indestructible. InsideHook reported that, “Just over two years ago, officials from Guinness World Records drove a 24.97-ton dump truck over a Casio G-SHOCK in order to test the ticker’s claim to be the world’s toughest watch.

Though the massive truck Guinness used for the test gave the DW5600E-1 model quite a licking, the iconic square-case watch kept on ticking, setting a new world record for the heaviest vehicle to drive over a watch without breaking it.”

Now with a new model of watches being released this October, Casio, G-SHOCK and Ibe are continuing to revolution watches.

The GM110SCM-1A will retail for $230, and the GM5600SCM-1 and GM6900SCM-1 will retail for $210 each. The models will be available this October at select G-SHOCK retailers, G-SHOCK Soho Store, and gshock.com

After lighting up stages across North America and around the world this summer on a sold out tour and teasing eager fans about upcoming music releases, THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS released a new song today for the first time in four years. Available globally at 8am EDT on all digital retail and streaming sites, “Walk On Water” marks the first single from the multi-platinum selling band’s highly anticipated forthcoming fifth studio album. The song will debut on alternative radio stations at 8am EDT as well as have an ‘all day premiere’ with iHeart Radio.

Next week, “Walk On Water” will have its world television debut in a can’t-miss performance on this year’s MTV VMAs on August 27th, 2017. The song features a sweeping chorus as a call to arms that embodies the spirit of elite athletes, which made it a natural fit for the band, and in collaboration with ESPN, to use “Walk On Water” on ESPN’s college football programming for the 2017 season. The band’s latest single is slated to be used across a variety of shows, promotions and games on ESPN’s college football platforms—television and digital.

Jared Leto first hinted at new music in a dramatic teaser video unveiled on his Instagram in June. The band then confirmed the new single in August with another video. The record, set for release on Interscope Records, follows the band’s 2013 studio album LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS, which debuted inside the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart.

“WALK ON WATER is a song for all of us. It’s a song about freedom, about persistence, about change and about fighting for what you believe in. It is a call to arms but also full of all the optimism and hope that is such an integral part of the American Dream,” said Jared Leto.

About THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS

Thirty Seconds to Mars then released the fourth album, Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams (2013), to critical and commercial success. The band has sold over 15 million albums worldwide and sells out arenas and stadiums globally.
