G-SHOCK x Clear Camo Collection

Today, Casio announces the release of a new line-up of men’s G-SHOCK models with striking translucent, metal camouflage prints. The new models share the strength and design features of three of G-SHOCK’s most popular silhouettes, the origin G-SHOCK 5600, the DW6900, and GA110, bringing a nostalgic, yet eye-catching new look to these iconic models.

The new transparent camo series arrive in a one-of-a-kind look with a premium, laser-engraved camouflage metal bezel and fully translucent camouflage-printed band. The GM5600SCM-1 features the renowned square case of the original G-SHOCK, while the GM6900SCM-1 and GM110SCM-1A bring superior strength in updated styles with forged metal bezels that accentuate the translucent camouflage pattern.

In addition to this updated look, the latest line-up from G-SHOCK comes with the brand’s most up to date technical capabilities, including an EL backlight to provide enhanced visibility for any time of day, and the GM110SCM-1A boasting magnetic resistant technology.

G-SHOCK released a new watch just this past month. The 360 MAGAZINE announced that “G -SHOCK announces the release of the MTGB1000VL-4A, an all-new, limited-edition to the popular MT-G line up of premium men’s watches. The new model boasts a striking, multi-colored design and rainbow ion-plate bezel that represents volcanic lightning.”

The G-SHOCK watches are revolutionary for the Casio offering “electric shock resistance, gravity resistance, low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, water resistance, shock resistance and toughness,” according to the companies site. The G-SHOCK watch was created by Casio engineer, Kikuo Ibe, in 1981 when he had broken a pocket watch his father had given him.

He then set out to make a watch that could go through stress without breaking. After 200 prototypes, Ibe released the G-SHOCK watch.

Since the creation, multiple models have been released offering something for every one. His watch has truly proved to be indestructible. InsideHook reported that, “Just over two years ago, officials from Guinness World Records drove a 24.97-ton dump truck over a Casio G-SHOCK in order to test the ticker’s claim to be the world’s toughest watch.

Though the massive truck Guinness used for the test gave the DW5600E-1 model quite a licking, the iconic square-case watch kept on ticking, setting a new world record for the heaviest vehicle to drive over a watch without breaking it.”

Now with a new model of watches being released this October, Casio, G-SHOCK and Ibe are continuing to revolution watches.

The GM110SCM-1A will retail for $230, and the GM5600SCM-1 and GM6900SCM-1 will retail for $210 each. The models will be available this October at select G-SHOCK retailers, G-SHOCK Soho Store, and gshock.com
