A Beginner’s Guide To Off-Roading Near Denver

You have just purchased your first Jeep or ATV, and you are ready to take it for a spin. You are in luck if you live in or near Denver, Colorado. The area is a paradise for ATV enthusiasts, and you can really test the limits of your vehicle in this area. Make sure you have the right truck rims for the job by purchasing any truck parts online you need. Once you are all set, follow this handy guide to lead you to a weekend of fun.

Bill Moore 4×4 Loop and the Empire Area

The Bill Moore Lake area offers a lot of beautiful scenery for you to enjoy. Even if you have lived in Colorado your entire life, you will see a side of it you have never witnessed before. There is a network of trails around here you definitely have to check out. The three main trails in this area include Red Elephant Hill, Mill Creek and Bill Moore Lake. Red Elephant Hill is recommended for advanced offroaders only. You can check it out once you have some experience under your belt, but for the time being, Mill Creek and Bill Moore Lake are plenty of fun.

Yankee Hill Network

You can get a full day’s worth of enjoyment out of the myriad of trails on the Yankee Hill Network. Most of them are perfect for beginners, so you can drive around to your heart’s content. The most popular route for locals to take is to start at St. Mary’s Glacier and drive over to Central City. As you head along this trail, you can take various side routes and develop your own loops. One point to keep in mind is that rocks generally litter the trails. You need to make sure you lower the air pressure in your tires before heading out so that you can increase your traction. Just make sure you avoid Miners Gulch.

Rampart Range

If you do not mind traveling a bit further away from Denver, then you should absolutely visit Rampart Range, located in the eastern Colorado plains. You can take your vehicle along the main road, which is appropriately named Rampart Range Road. It is a simple dirt road to drive across, but you should bear in mind that it does close down seasonally. As long as you visit the area during the right time of year, you can drive down it as well as the dozens of other service roads in the park.

There are numerous trails to visit around Denver. Before you head out, make sure you purchase all truck accessories Denver you may need. Additionally, it is vital to remember that if you do not feel comfortable taking a certain trail, then there is no shame in turning around. When you are just a beginner, you do not want to push your luck. You could end up stranded in the middle of a park, which is the last thing anyone wants. As long as you buy everything you need from a reputable online ATV shop, you can enjoy greater peace of mind.

In an immersive and impactful 360 experience, the giant billboards in Times Square went dark, creating a disruptive blackout moment. Hôtel Plaza Athénée, NYC, 360 MAGAZINE

Hôtel Plaza Athénée

As of late, 360 Magazine attended a mixer held to mark the newly restored Bar Seine, Arabelle Restaurant and Spa Valmont at Hôtel Plaza Athénée.

By Armon Hayes × Vaughn Lowery

Since 1984, elite travelers and celebrities alike have referred to Hotel Plaza Athénée as their ‘home away from home.’ Nestled in Manhattan’s Upper East Side (in tight proximity to MOMA and the Central Park Zoo), it’s heavily revered for its decor and 5-star services. A tranquil treasure and best kept secret for over 30 years.

Hôtel Plaza Athénée sets the gold standard with it’s onsite dining – curated by Chef Oliver Keegan. The “Athénée sliders” are the perfect appetizer made with black angus, smeared with Sriracha mayo will make your taste buds tango.

After devouring our starters, we were whisked over to Bar Seine for handcrafted cocktails. A signature Gin Martini deeply infused with floral accents was dubbed as a “Hendrick Midsummer Solstice.” Splashed with cherry liqueur and garnished with edible flower buds, it was an effortless blend of both femininity and masculinity.

Shortly after, we stepped over to Spa Valmont. Stocked with Valmont cosmetics (which are exclusive to the property) for both men and women to topple the signs of aging alongside of therapeutic sessions which encompass natural resources from Switzerland.

In short, this 143-room stately accommodation comes with an array of suites and amenities which would be sure to enhance your stay while in NYC.

Hackers Covet Your Identity; 5 Ways To Thwart Their Efforts

Each day people take a virtual trip through the internet to do their banking, make hotel reservations, shop for a new car, or engage in a myriad of other activities important to them.

It’s so routine that it’s easy to forget that you need to be just as careful about protecting yourself on those virtual journeys as you would on an actual one. “Hackers are creative about dreaming up new ideas for stealing your identity, so it’s important that you stay vigilant even if you already have taken action to guard yourself and your data,” says Chris Hoose, an IT consultant who works with small businesses.

Hoose says a few steps you can take to protect your identity include:

Use a password manager. One problem with passwords is that people often use simple ones that are easy to remember, but also easy to hack. A password manager  provides an encrypted database where you can store unique, long, complex passwords for each of your online accounts, and access them when you need them. “With a password manager, you can have better passwords that are harder to hack, and you don’t have to memorize them,” Hoose says.

Do your online activities with a VPN. Worried that your online browsing will lead identity thieves right back to you? One solution, Hoose says, is a virtual private network (VPN), which lends you a temporary IP address and hides your true IP address from every website or email you connect with. “It also prevents the sites you visit from learning your physical location,” he says. “You just need to remember to connect to it when you want to use it.” A VPN usually costs about $40 to $50 a year, he says.

Be wary on social media. Most people check in on social media routinely to catch up on family news, connect with college buddies, or perhaps to share photos of a new puppy. Unfortunately, cyber thieves lurk in the background. “They know that social media platforms are an excellent source for personal information and information about your contacts, which makes identity theft that much easier for them,” Hoose says. To stay safe on social media, he suggests you check to see if you have already been compromised; avoid password reuse; update your security settings regularly; and limit your connections because the more you have, the more potential for a fraudulent or compromised account to send you a malicious link.

Keep tabs on your credit report. One way to make sure no one has taken on debt in your name, and damaged your credit in the process, is to request a full credit report from any of the three major agencies: Equifax, TransUnion and Experian. You can get a free copy from any of them through the site. Also, it might be time to get off the mailing list for all those credit offers you receive that say you are pre-approved. “Those offers are a gold mine for identity thieves,” Hoose says. You can opt out of pre-approved credit offers by visiting.

Be sure to install anti-virus/malware software. Your first and best line of defense against identity theft on your computer remains anti-virus software and anti-malware software, Hoose says. When choosing one, he suggests making use of the trial period most companies offer. “That way you can try them out and decide which one works best for you,” he says.

“The more people try to foil identity thieves, the more sophisticated those thieves seem to get in their methods,” Hoose says. “But by being watchful and attentive, you can stay safe and enjoy your time online.”

Pirelli P Zero Named As Best Performance Tire

PIRELLI P ZERO NAMED AS BEST PERFORMANCE TIRE BY EVO MAGAZINE

P Zero set fastest wet and dry lap times but was also judged to be safe and communicative by evo’s experienced testers, who say you can “feel the grip”

The Pirelli P Zero tire has beaten all its leading rivals in an important tire test organized by evo magazine, underlining Pirelli’s hero product as the undisputed world leader when it comes to ultra-high performance.

Evo, whose slogan is ‘the thrill of driving’, was founded in 1998 and is published in several international editions, making it the magazine of choice for performance car enthusiasts worldwide.

During its eagerly awaited summer tire test, evo compared the leading performance tires currently on sale, pitting the P Zero against seven other well-known rivals from established tire manufacturers in a series of probing challenges.

These tests were designed to assess key aspects such as handling, acceleration and braking under a variety of different circumstances, both in the wet and the dry. The test included both objective measurements – with tire performance measured in a controlled environment – as well as subjective assessments, where a variety of experienced evo road testers drove on the tires to evaluate driver feedback and feel how they interacted with the car and surface.

THE FASTEST ON WET AND DRY

The Pirelli P Zero stood out as the overall test winner by a convincing margin. “Scoring no fewer than six top results, the Pirelli was especially impressive in the wet and by far the most impressive tire subjectively,” wrote evo. “It set fastest laps in the wet and the dry and you could feel the grip.”

The evo tire test was carried out with the latest P Zero in 18-inch size, one of the most popular measurements in Pirelli’s performance range – which will also be the diameter that FIA Formula One World Championship adopts with Pirelli from 2021 onwards. Pirelli P Zero sizes start in 18-inch size and go all the way up to 22 inches, equipping some of the most desirable supercars and hypercars in the world.

CHOSEN BY MAGAZINES AND BY PRESTIGE CAR MAKERS

The evo test win backs up another important test win for Pirelli earlier this year, when the P Zero was judged to be the best of 11 summer tires by renowned German publication Auto Bild, which praised its: “excellent performance with no weak points.”

P Zero tires are now chosen by more than 50% of the world’s prestige cars as original equipment, meaning that over half the world’s most desirable cars leave their factories on Pirelli tires. Currently, there are more than 1.100 homologations of P Zero.

Maintaining Your Dog’s Youthful Joints

Sourced in New Zealand, GLM is the Superfood Dog Owners Are Talking About

Millions of dog owners could be unaware their pet is suffering from pain and mobility issues- because they’re unable to identify tell-tale signs.

“Dogs don’t show how they’re feeling in the way humans do and can’t tell us when they’re hurt or uncomfortable,” said John Howie, CEO and Co-Founder of Lintbells. “Their signs and symptoms of joint stiffness unfortunately often go unnoticed by pet parents who want the best for their dogs, but just don’t know there’s an issue to address in the first place.”

Some commonly overlooked signs of stiffness or joint difficulty in our dogs, according to Howie include: lagging behind on walks, difficulties rising after rest, sleeping more, irritability, anxiety, or being reluctant to walk, run, jump and play.

But, it’s not just identifying the problem that has confused dog owners over the years, but finding the right solution to care for the problem has been just as confusing- if not more- to everyday dog owners.

“With more and more negative stories in the news about pet food companies, and pet product aisles nationwide saturated with options, it’s hard to know which products are best, and can be trusted to back up the claims being made,” said Kerry Sutherland, pet lifestyle expert and America’s Dog Mom. “We’ve been reading ingredient labels on our own food and wellness products, and it’s time to pay the same level of attention when it comes time to buy something for your pet.”

Today, the go-to ingredient for dog joint and mobility issues in the pet health and wellness circles is Green Lipped Mussels (or GLM).

GLM is a superfood rich in essential fatty acids from the purest sources in New Zealand- but not all GLM is created equal. Lintbells own ActiveEase™ Green Lipped Mussel contains more Omega 3’s than any other, and has extraordinary properties that improve joint function, mobility, and eases discomfort in our dogs.

This unique ingredient is naturally anti-inflammatory, meaning our dog’s stiff joints are eased naturally.

“Made from all-natural, human-grade, non-GMO ingredients, our secret to YuMOVE Hip & Joint Supplements’ success comes from Lintbells own “ActivEase™ GLM”. This joint supplement that promotes joint and cartilage health in dogs of all breeds and sizes contains significantly more Omega3’s than standard varities, and can be incorporated into any dog’s diet or routine and given once per day for guaranteed, visible results,” Howie said.

And, seeing is believing. One popular dog blogger, Rachel Phelps of Preston Speaks, recently shared the experience she had with her Westie, Elvis, and YuMOVE Hip & Joint Supplements.

“Elvis is moving again, he wants to go on more and more walks, and we have seen a real difference in his mobility,” Phelps said.

It’s those visible results, seen even in her own before and after video of Elvis, that has the pet owners so excited about GLM.

“I’ve given my dogs supplements over the years, and found it so hard to really know or measure if they’re working,” Sutherland added. “After about six weeks on one Lintbells YuMOVE Hip & Joint Supplement per day, there was no question- my dog was happier, more playful and running around the backyard.”

YuMOVE Hip & Joint Supplements are available in 30-day packs, and three sizes: Small Dog (up to 35lb), Medium Dog (36-65lb) and Large Dog (over 65lb). YuMOVE Hip & Joint Supplements start at $24.50 and can be purchased online at US.Lintbells.com.

California Dips to 43rd in Highway Report

California Dips to 43rd in the Nation in Highway Performance and Cost-Effectiveness The 24th Annual Highway Report, based on data that states submitted to the federal government, ranks each state’s highway system in 13 categories, including traffic fatalities, pavement condition, congestion, spending per mile, administrative costs and more. California’s highway system ranks 43rd in the nation in overall cost-effectiveness and condition, according to the Annual Highway Report published today by Reason Foundation. This is a one-spot decrease from the previous Annual Highway Report, where California ranked 42nd overall.

In safety and performance categories, California ranks 18th in overall fatality rate, 19th in structurally deficient bridges, 48th in traffic congestion, 47th in urban Interstate pavement condition and 45th in rural Interstate pavement condition. On spending, California ranks 40th in total spending per mile. “The traffic congestion in California’s large cities hurts the overall ranking, but, in addition to reducing congestion, the state could significantly improve its ranking by reducing fatalities on rural highways, improving its pavement conditions, and lowering its administrative costs,” said Baruch Feigenbaum, lead author of the Annual Highway Report and assistant director of transportation at Reason Foundation. “Compared to nearby states, California’s overall highway performance is worse than Arizona (ranks 29th), Nevada (ranks 27th) and Oregon (ranks 12th). Compared to the other most populated states in America, California ranks ahead of New York (45th), trails Florida (40th), and ranks well behind Texas (ranks 23rd).”

California’s best rankings are in overall fatality rate (18th) and structurally deficient bridges (19th). California’s worst rankings are in urban arterial pavement condition (49th) and urban area congestion (48th). California’s state-controlled highway mileage makes it the 15th largest highway system in the country. Utilizing data that states submitted to the federal government, Reason Foundation’s 24th Annual Highway Report measures the condition and cost-effectiveness of state-owned roads in 13 categories, including pavement condition on urban and rural Interstates, deficient bridges, traffic fatalities, administrative costs, and spending per mile on state roads.

North Dakota ranks first in the Annual Highway Report’s overall performance and cost-effectiveness rankings for the second year in a row. Virginia and Missouri, two of the 20 most populated states in the country, are second and third in overall performance and cost-effectiveness. Maine and Kentucky round out the top five states. The highway systems in New Jersey (50th), Alaska (49th), Rhode Island (48th), Hawaii and Massachusetts rank at the bottom of the nation in overall performance and cost-effectiveness. The full Annual Highway Report, complete rankings in each category, and historical data from previous editions are available here.

California’s Complete Results Ranking (out of 50 states)

Overall Rank (*see explanation below): #43

Overall Rank in Previous Report: #42

Urban Area Congestion* – #48

Structurally Deficient Bridges, Percent* – #19

Overall Fatality Rate – #18

Rural Fatality Rate – #47

Urban Fatality Rate – #21

*The Annual Highway Report is based on spending and performance data submitted by state highway agencies to the federal government for 2016 as well as urban congestion data from INRIX and bridge condition data from the Better Roads inventory for 2017. For more details on the calculation of each of the 13 performance measures used in the report, as well as the overall performance measure, please refer to the appendix in the main report. The report’s dataset includes Interstate, federal and state roads but not county or local roads. All rankings are based on performance measures that are ratios rather than absolute values: the financial measures are disbursements per mile, the fatality rate is fatalities per 100 million vehicle-miles of travel, the urban congestion measure is the annual delay per auto commuter, and the others are percentages. For example, the state ranking first in structurally deficient bridges has the smallest percentage of structurally deficient bridges, not the smallest number of structurally deficient bridges.

Reason Foundation’s transportation experts have advised four presidential administrations, along with numerous state and metro transportation departments and planning organizations. Baruch Feigenbaum is lead author of the Annual Highway Report and his bio information is available here.
