GUCCI ATTACHE

Gucci Attache, the house’s latest bag style. The Attache Bag is characterized by an adaptable “G” clasp at the bottom of the strap which transforms the silhouette into a stunning half moon shape. This style draws upon a playful 1970s aesthetic and reaffirms the house’s ongoing efforts in gender inclusivity, offering eight distinct unisex styles.

A piece of contemporary design created from the awareness of a modern attitude and of the intentional revival of a historical object from the archive: Gucci Attache is a bag that reinterprets tradition and the system of House codes while transporting a silhouette, which draws from an intuition and an attitude of the 1970s, into the present through a narrative and gesturality outside the confines of gender, feminine or masculine.

Attache, like the French word for “hook,” like the geometry with which, through the power of symbols, can be defined as onomatopoeic because it closes onto itself like a hook. Or like the metallic hook that attaches the two corners. Attache, therefore, is the bag that progresses from a half-moon design encompassed by the Web, distinguished by a metal G that opens and closes its silhouette.

Versatile as a symbol, in shape, and in volume, the Gucci Attache is presented as the essence of a very current attitude and gesturality. Both in its medium and small sizes and in the diverse ways it can be worn, either on the shoulder or across the body, the line presents that appeal that only objects with dual functions can have.

“I was fascinated by the bag after having laid upon it a casual and fleeting glance while I was in the archive… Immediately, a desire took shape to reinterpret it and include it in the Love Parade collection for the fashion show in Los Angeles because its silhouette, typical of the Seventies, projects a very modern attitude that convinced me to draw out an eclectic symbol that could express the idea of a dual function. It is its G-shaped clasp detail, with its mechanical origin, that makes it the joining link between a bourgeois spirit, typical of an object of this kind, and the functionality of the world of utility,” says Alessandro Michele, Creative Director of Gucci.

With its interchangeable straps, in leather or the Web, that allow it to become both a shoulder bag and a handbag, the Gucci Attache is an item of design that is both transportable and ergonomic, living in contact with the body, a perfect silhouette to add to a hypothetical collection of objects of desire. In other words, of those wonderful, useful, inseparable objects that in the culture of contemporary living, have become bags.

The Gucci Attache is featured in a campaign that Art Director and photographer Max Siedentopf shot against a metropolitan backdrop, underlining the same symbols that form the meaning of this bag: references and perspectives that together, know how to create that glam-utility that is the expression of a culture of appearance and practicality. Two elements that create a desire for beauty.

M·A·C Cosmetics NFT

M·A·C Cosmetics Partners with The Keith Haring Foundation to Launch First-Ever NFT Collection

Limited-edition VIVA GLAM x Keith Haring NFTs will mint on National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day to support healthy futures and equal rights for all

In honor of National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on April 10, M·A·C Cosmetics has created its first-ever NFT collection featuring the work of the late iconic artist and activist, Keith Haring. Available from April 10 to June 1, 2022, 100% of the purchase price from primary sales of the VIVA GLAM x Keith Haring NFT collection will be donated to the M·A·C VIVA GLAM Fund to support youth impacted by HIV/AIDS and through January 15, 2023, 2.5% of the purchase price from all secondary sales on OpenSea will go to The Keith Haring Foundation.

“VIVA GLAM is as iconic to M·A·C as our lipsticks and as our relationship with technology evolves as a society, we must also expand how we fundraise for the campaign. This will be the first-time in VIVA GLAM’s 27-year history that fans and supporters in the U.S. will be able to contribute to VIVA GLAM without buying a physical lipstick. This is an exciting moment for us and we hope that this limited-edition NFT collection will help us reach a new audience and raise more funding for VIVA GLAM,” said André Branch, M·A·C Cosmetics General Manager, North America.

The Keith Haring Foundation is a natural partner for M·A·C to  enter  into the metaverse: Haring’s inimitable street pop art sprang into the epicentre of New York’s artistic subculture in the 1980s, right when M·A·C launched as the definitive rule-breaking Artistry brand. It’s their shared connection to the fight against HIV/AIDS that forms the most meaningful bond. Haring himself was diagnosed with HIV in 1987 at a time when the disease was still a source of fear and apprehension. Equal part activist and artist, instead of hiding behind his diagnosis, Haring used his art to raise awareness about the AIDS crisis and talk about his own illness, which helped destigmatize AIDS and bring impacted youth together to advocate for change.

“This is exciting in so many ways. First, it is M·A·C’s first ever dab into the metaverse and the world of NFTs and we are thrilled to anchor it to giving back to a cause so close to the heart and soul of the brand,” said Aïda Moudachirou-Rebois, Global Chief Marketing Officer, M·A·C Cosmetics. “Additionally, we are honored that the Keith Haring Foundation agreed to join forces with us to carry forward Haring’s mission of using art to drive positive change for those most in need of support and are proud that his legacy lives on through VIVA GLAM.”

The limited-edition NFT collection features three animations of M·A·C VIVA GLAM lipsticks decorated with Haring’s most famous artwork. Created in partnership with blockchain technology leader ConsenSys, each NFT is available at three different rarity levels and price points to attract a diverse and inclusive range of metaverse consumers.

  • Keith Haring Red – Rare ($25 each up to 5,000 pieces minted on demand): Animated illustration of red lipstick featuring Haring’s artwork.
  • Keith Haring Blue – Exclusive (250 total pieces at $150 each): Animated illustration of blue lipstick featuring Haring’s artwork. Rare NFTs also include a digital face chart tutorial of a Keith Haring-inspired makeup look created by a M·A·C Senior Artist.
  • Keith Haring Yellow – Icon (25 total pieces at $1000 each): Animated illustration of yellow lipstick featuring Haring’s artwork. Legendary NFTs also provide access to a 30-minute personalized M·A·C Artist consultation and complementary physical product.

“Keith Haring and M·A·C Cosmetics are really a perfect match,” said Gil Vazquez, Director of the Keith Haring Studio. “Both the artist and the brand have long stood for equal rights and self-expression for everybody. We are happy to team up with M·A·C to continue supporting a cause he cared about so deeply.”

M·A·C VIVA GLAM was created in 1994, at the height of the AIDS epidemic, by Frank Toskan and the late Frank Angelo, the original founders of the brand, who saw the HIV/AIDS epidemic directly affecting their community. They came up with a very simple, yet powerful concept: Make a lipstick and dedicate 100% of the selling price to organizations directly serving people affected by HIV/AIDS. Thanks to this powerful mission and support from the M·A·C community, the campaign has raised over half a billion dollars for organizations all over the world helping women and girls, the LGBTQIA+ community and those affected by HIV/AIDS.

MDee Beauty

MDee Beauty has lipsticks, matte liquid lipsticks, and lip glosses developed for every skin type. MDee Beauty uses paraben-free ingredients, pampers lips, including vitamin E, shea butter and avocado oil, keeping lips smooth and moisturized, for long-lasting results. While founder Deidra Smith was choosing the colors and tints, she kept in mind daily life for the everyday woman, regardless of ethnicity. For summer lipstick trends, Deidra recommends using bold reds and sultry pinks, with a pop bright orange and some neutrals.

She says, You can wear your hair pulled back in a cute ponytail, down curly or straight, with a natural glam face and a natural, yet golden eye. Apply concealer on lips first, along with a red/pink lip pencil for bold look.

Smith also recommends preventing lipstick stains on teeth by rubbing translucent powder over lipstick application or taking one finger in between lips and pulling through. This will remove product inside of lips and prevent it from transferring to teeth.

Which is the best MDee product for long-lasting wear? Matte lipstick is ideal for full day wear and minimal smudging. What Mdee products to blend? Glosses and lipsticks pair amazingly together. You can match any color for a glam lip slay or  pair a casually glam graphic tee, distressed jean and pump heel for a fierce girls night or sexy slip dress and kitten heel for a hot date night.

For a natural shine, apply one or two coats onto the center of lips and brush towards the outer corners. The product is buildable, so if you desire more color, add another coat. The cost of the lipsticks are $12 and the lip glosses are $14. The liquid lipsticks are $19.

7 Ways To Make Your Face Look Younger

Everyone wants to live forever, but NO one wants to grow old. Well, at least no one wants to LOOK old! That paradox has been ingrained in most of us from the moment we feel the effects of aging!  It is a deep-rooted desire to fight the process of growing old tooth and nail. While it’s true that no one can stop maturing, there are ways that we can slow it down or at the very least look younger. Here are some suggestions.

1. You Are What You Eat

Or, you are what your body absorbs. If you are eating foods that are prohibiting you from absorbing needed nutrients, then that can most definitely be the culprit to looking older. That is why consuming a diet that is nutrient-dense is so important! Avoiding sugar is something you may also want to consider. A diet that is low in sugar keeps insulin levels low. It is important to understand that a consistent spike in insulin levels accelerates aging.

2. Sleep

It is no secret that the body needs sleep but not just any old sleep will do. Our bodies require six to eight hours of recuperative sleep every night. If we regularly deprive ourselves of that then we will begin to age faster, and it will show! If you are suffering from long-term sleep deprivation it is best that you find the root cause and resolve it because sleep is vital to our longevity.

3. Let’s Get Physical!

There is a reason why exercise is often advised when wanting to look younger. That’s because regular exercise dramatically slows the aging process in our chromosomes (thread-like structures housed in the nucleus of each cell). Our telomeres (caps placed at the end of chromosomes like shoelaces) controls aging. As we age, our telomeres become shorter. Regular exercise halts that process helping us maintain longer telomeres which are linked with a prolonged existence. Not to mention that exercise also relieves stress and anxiety which can take its toil and show on our faces prematurely aging us.

4. Water

Hydration is very important in maintaining our youthful appearance. Especially when you consider that the human adult body is 60% of water. Not only does water cool down the body but it also delivers nutrients to the cells and removes waste. Along with drinking water, you can also eat fruits and vegetables with high water content such as watermelon, grapefruit, and cucumber.

5. Protect Your Skin

The sun is a great source of Vitamin D which is necessary for our immune health and absorbing calcium, however, the sun also ages our skin due to its harmful ultraviolet (A and B) rays. These are the types of sun rays that reach the earth’s surface. UVB rays produce sunburn and are associated with the formation of most skin cancers. UVA rays are also the cause of some cancers in the skin. Finding a sunscreen with SPF 15 (at least) that protects against both rays is ideal, also wearing hats and using umbrellas will help.

6. Skin Care: Gel

Keeping in line with skin protection, there are products that can be used that can help with the skin’s appearance. If you are having difficulties with your skin texture or if you have scars, you can use natural solutions like aloe gel or coconut oil. These can be very effective in helping the skin to heal properly and natural. Also, a good scar gel will help.

7. Make-up

How you apply your make-up can make a significant difference in how young or old you appear. Advice on make-up tips can be found all over social media platforms such as Pinterest, Facebook, or YouTube. Be sure to incorporate good habits like removing your make-up and cleaning your face before going to bed and make sure that your make-up is not too old or unsanitary.

What is all comes down to is that, we have to live a healthy lifestyle. I know that we hear this advice over and over again to the point of it being a cliché; however, there is a reason why we hear it often; BECAUSE IT’S TRUE! There’s really no way around it. If we want to look youthful yet live as long as possible, we must develop good lifestyle habits.

BOY SMELLS

Sensuous, accessible and bright, Boy Smells products elevate your intimate world.

Packaged in pink and conceived beyond the gender binary, Boy Smells candles and intimate apparel make loving your identity a daily ritual.

In 2015, Boy Smells began as an experiment in candle-making in the Los Angeles kitchen of co-founders and real-life partners Matthew Herman and David Kien. Herman and Kien– both fashion veterans who worked in design (Herman) and product development (Kien)– began by making the things they’d want to use on a daily basis, products that were fluid and essential.

“We wanted to have products that were embracing masculine and feminine simultaneously in a simple and straightforward way that wasn’t overtly targeted to one gender,” the founders say. “It’s a permission to harness your power from wherever you want it.”

Founder-invented scents like Cinderose, a union of rose and smoke, and Gardener, a compilation of tomato vine and honeysuckle, wrap traditionally masculine scents in a prettier bouquet. Burn up expectations, release clear intentions.

Boy Smells candles are all developed and mixed in the founders’ home in Los Angeles with essential oils, all-natural coconut and beeswax. The candles hand-poured in a reusable glass vessel, and hand-labeled in Los Angeles, California.

In 2018, Boy Smells launched Boy Smells, Unmentionables their first collection of intimate apparel, a new direction in the brand’s study of closeness. Made for all genders and all sizes, Boy Smells light jersey underwear are made in Peru from luxurious Pima Cotton, and dyed with an eco-friendly process to a palette of neo-natural colors that are skin-tone adjacent and inclusive.

Beginning in 2019, Boy Smells will branch into apothecary, introducing a set of new products that make daily habits therapeutic and self-affirming.

Currently carried in over 200 retail locations worldwide, with 16 original scents, votive sets, and 9 Unmentionables styles.

Nicki Minaj × Vogue Arabia

Nicki Minaj Covers September Issue of Vogue Arabia.

A fully-fledged member of rap’s fashion royalty, Nicki Minaj, who has more than 90 million followers on Instagram, has returned following a hiatus of nearly four years to drop her fourth album, Queen. In this moment when the fashion industry discusses inclusivity, diversity, and equality, it was only fitting that the cover story was shot in New York, just a few days before the Met Gala, by an all female-team. Renowned photographer Emma Summerton was behind the lens, while the styling was done by Anna Katsanis and overseen by Vogue Arabia fashion director Katie Trotter. The hair and makeup looks were created by Kim Kimble and Sheika Daley respectively.

Aaliyah × MAC Makeup Kit

In honor of the late singer Aaliyah, fans had been petitioning MAC on change.org to release a makeup line for her. The petition gained over 26,000 signatures in the process and helped fans make their wishes into a reality. The only downside is as soon as the collection was put out on MAC’s website at 11 a.m. ET on June 20, the $250 set was sold out within an hour. The pyramid-shaped set is inspired by Aaliyah’s own makeup kit and comes with a bandana similar to the one she wore, as well as a poster of her. The eyeshadow palette is combined of different colors which include neutrals, purples, and metallics while the lipsticks include neutrals, reds, and black. There are 12 products in total that MAC Cosmetics has commemorated in her name and they have all been approved by Aaliyah’s brother Rashad Haughton prior to the official release.
