Chrishell Stause × DSW Collection

By: Kai Yeo

“I am thrilled to partner with DSW so I can show people how to get that designer look without the designer price tag.” – Chrishell Stause on her collaboration with DSW.

We got the opportunity to celebrate Chrishell Stause and her DSW curated collection last night at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles. Decked out in the Mix No.6 Mesha Sandal from her collaboration with the brand, the Selling Sunset star was joined by celebrities and influencers including Katrina Bowden, Amanda Stanton, Ashley Wahler and more.

Guests admired the new collection at the carnival-themed cocktail party as they posed for photos at the shoe wall, played ring toss (where Chrishell saw us win a teddy bear!) and indulged in specialty cocktails and light bites. The cotton candy bar was also a fan favorite, and constantly had a line forming. The candy floss was shaped into funky animal shapes such as an elephants, unicorns, and even just fun rainbow swirls! Personally, the claw machine was the go-to hot spot. Reminiscent of carnivals and arcades, it was set up with $25–$100 gift cards and socks as consolation prizes; even if you didn’t win a gift card, you’d want to at least go home with some socks (guilty as charged).

Known for her feminine, fun, and flirty style, Chrishell ensured her curated collection was fashionable without sacrificing function– offering trendy as well as timeless options, and a touch of her signature sparkle. “I feel like we finally get to go out again and dress up. And so, I really wanted to have fun and pick colorful pieces that really reflect the summertime and just, you know, summer fun and color,” Stause told FN.

Within the collection, Stause picked a range of styles from slides to sneakers and strappy heeled sandals. The pieces are available on DSW’s ecommerce site and in all 500 stores! The curated capsule collections consist of footwear and accessories that will bring back high wattage glamour in a big way this summer.

We also got the chance to exchange a couple of words with Chrishell herself. She talked a little bit about wanting to be comfortable and having fun in whatever she wears, especially since we haven’t been able to do much in the past year. P.S.: She is so super sweet!

Not only were we served delicious hors d’oeuvres, but there were also classic sliders and truffle fries available (who can resist a good truffle?), as well as amazing Oreo ice-cream to perfectly end the evening. And we were even gifted a Shiraleah Ombre Lucia Tote goodie bag each to go home with! Perfect for the summer and so easy to pair with everything.

MDee Beauty

MDee Beauty has lipsticks, matte liquid lipsticks, and lip glosses developed for every skin type. MDee Beauty uses paraben-free ingredients, pampers lips, including vitamin E, shea butter and avocado oil, keeping lips smooth and moisturized, for long-lasting results. While founder Deidra Smith was choosing the colors and tints, she kept in mind daily life for the everyday woman, regardless of ethnicity. For summer lipstick trends, Deidra recommends using bold reds and sultry pinks, with a pop bright orange and some neutrals.

She says, You can wear your hair pulled back in a cute ponytail, down curly or straight, with a natural glam face and a natural, yet golden eye. Apply concealer on lips first, along with a red/pink lip pencil for bold look.

Smith also recommends preventing lipstick stains on teeth by rubbing translucent powder over lipstick application or taking one finger in between lips and pulling through. This will remove product inside of lips and prevent it from transferring to teeth.

Which is the best MDee product for long-lasting wear? Matte lipstick is ideal for full day wear and minimal smudging. What Mdee products to blend? Glosses and lipsticks pair amazingly together. You can match any color for a glam lip slay or  pair a casually glam graphic tee, distressed jean and pump heel for a fierce girls night or sexy slip dress and kitten heel for a hot date night.

For a natural shine, apply one or two coats onto the center of lips and brush towards the outer corners. The product is buildable, so if you desire more color, add another coat. The cost of the lipsticks are $12 and the lip glosses are $14. The liquid lipsticks are $19.

Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy

In the March 22nd issue of InStyle, Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy speak on the loyal sisterhood they’ve created including Rowan Blanchard, Dakota Fanning and Shailene Woodley with their darkly romantic designs.

“There are very few houses led by women, and I think that’s unfortunate… The few women I see in those positions worked really long and hard to get there, and I don’t see that with our male counterparts. Someone does one cool collection as a young male designer and they are in a house. We can all leave it to our imaginations as to why that is,” says Laura Mulleavy.

“My sister and I have always been able to relate to Kate and Laura in a special way because the four of us understand the power of a sisterly bond… I’ve always been fascinated by the inspirations for Kate and Laura’s collections,” says Dakota Fanning.

“No matter how niche or specific they may be, they are always uniquely present in each piece… I’m not sure I’ve met any two more authentic women in the fashion industry,” says Shailene Woodley.

“It’s romantic and feminine, and there’s an underlying edge to it, something that’s off… We’re always looking at the ideas of traditional beauty and nontraditional beauty and how they can be seen together,” says Laura Mulleavy.

The issue hits newsstands nationwide March 22nd. Photographs by Amy Harrity. See the full online interview here.

Quintessential Linen Jumpsuits

Linen has always been a popular material when it is bout sarees, but the current western trend presents women with the best Linen jumpsuits of all times. Linen jumpsuits are a phenomenal sensation among women now that has almost become the regular attire for many. The levels of comfort you get in these outfits are incomparable, and only those can relate who have tried it! In fact, these pieces have made its place in the wardrobes of elderly women as well. They come in different sizes, designs, colors and cuts and leave no one behind when it comes to suitability. Young mothers are really fond of linen jumpsuits as they find these extremely easy to carry and yet pace along with the new-age trends. Speaking of which, check out some of the coolest linen jumpsuit trends that are literally ruling the fashion world right now.

The loose and casual style jumpsuits
Dressing casually is a fashion statement itself in today’s time that is mostly opted by the millennial nowadays. It is all about setting the trend rather than simply following it. The casually styled jumpsuits are incredibly comfortable but let you flaunt your fashion statement in a carefree way. Gone are those days when you have to overwhelm yourself with a prim and proper attire to exhibit a notion of impressive dressing sense. Fashion is properly defined the moment you start feeling relaxed, confident and comfortable in it. The casual linen jumpsuits are a perfect example of such phenomenal dressing style. All you will need is to

Baggy pants Lenin jumpsuit
Baggy pants are just the forte of guys? The idea is far from being true in today’s fashion world. Girls are literally nailing it when it comes to flaunting their loose-fitting, voluminous pants. These pants look just perfect on most body type and much more impressive if you have a proper height. We are mostly used to in seeing jumpsuits that have a pencil or moderate width when it comes to the bottom part, but the baggy pants linen jumpsuits are an exception to the existing outlook of jumpsuits. They are easy to wear, and you do not have to put even a little bit of effort to slip into these pieces. If you ask about the best part, you can move around like a free bird in it as this plus is missing in most feminine attire. You do not have to be conscious of how you are looking or even the fitting as it is completely stretchable.

What makes the linen jumpsuits so special out of all categories?
Coming to the most important part now, jumpsuits being the most comfortable attire, the linen jumpsuits can be considered as a cherry on top. Linen is one of the most skin-friendly materials that is admired and used by one and well. There is no doubt about it because in a nation like India, it becomes highly difficult to beat the heat irrespective of whatever outfit you are wearing. This is precisely where the pluses of the extraordinary linen fabrics come into the picture. These fabrics just fit you like your second skin. This is mainly because of their smooth, flexible and extremely light texture. Even if you are out at the beach, or doing some window shopping in the scorching summer heat, a trendy Google and a bag are all you need to go with it. There are some kinds of dresses that are simple and stylish in their own ways and require no extra accessories or make-up to enhance its charm. You can consider the linen jumpsuits as one of those!

Extremely comfortable cotton linen jumpsuits
The cotton-linen jumpsuits are a new invention of the textile industry. The blend of the two most skin-friendly materials makes these jumpsuits exceptionally comfortable to wear. There is also a men’s jumpsuit that is available in the same material. The cotton-linen jumpsuits are available in a variety of textures and serve gold when it comes to longevity and durability. Now coming to the most exciting part; that ladies are highly concerned about; these jumpsuits exhibit a mix of structured and unstructured or loose-fitting look. To be more precise, they set smoothly on your skin surface and are really good to cover up the bulky areas. The material

Strapless Linen jumpsuits
These jumpsuits are a perfect choice for those who keep a knack for cold or off shoulders. Strapless linens hold an incredibly stylish look and can make you look perfect in shape even if you have a bulky structure. The shoulder cuts are available in a variety of trends. Some have a semi-slanting cut while some are entirely off-shoulder. You can also spice up the look of these with some trendy contrasting colored inners. Off shoulders, linen jumpsuits are also available in the dress form if you are not much of a pant person. These pieces are far from being boring and dull, and you are going to just love the trendy floral prints they come in. Floral is the foremost choice of ladies when it comes to exhibiting a feminine get-up and these pieces are simply incomparable. Apart from the floral prints, there are also other designs that you can definitely check out. Some of the most popular designs include the plain solid colors, striped, geometric prints, Aztec prints, animal prints, polka dots and the list goes on. A bright but light neckpiece and kitten-heeled footwear are all you will need and you are good to go!

To wrap up, if you incase prefer shortcut jumpsuits and not really fond of the full-length pants, you must get your hands on the short and trendy linen Rompers. These are just perfect for getting into that ‘girl next door get up’ in case a guest has just appeared or you need to reach a place within a few minutes. Only women know how they waste a considerable amount of effort to only get that perfect piece out of their wardrobe that will make them feel both comfortable and stylish. Consider the struggle is over now and pamper your wardrobe with some cool collection of linen jumpsuits.
