“We received a lot of great artwork from the youth in our community,” explains Robert Stinnett, general manager at WonderWorks Myrtle Beach. “We are happy to be able to have some of it on display for the next year. This is a great way to honor our young artists and to inspire others.”

Submissions for the art contest were accepted through December 18, 2020, with the winning submissions going on display January 22, 2021. The theme for this year’s contest was “Time to Think,” which encouraged young artists to think and express their thoughts through art. All of the artwork focused on being unique in concept, design, and execution. All winning artwork will help expand the illusion art gallery in a special section created to highlight local area youth art.

Encouraging youth to engage in art comes with many benefits. According to the National Endowment for the Arts, youth that engage in arts do better in school, are more optimistic, less likely to try drugs, and have higher school attachment. Additionally, youth who engage in art tend to have a higher quality of life, reduced stress and make them feel more involved in the community.

“Art is one of the things that we focus on here at WonderWorks Myrtle Beach,” added Stinnett. “We are happy to offer the area’s young artists a chance to have their artwork on display. Combine that with all the other family fun we offer, and it’s a winning combination.”

WonderWorks Myrtle Beach programs include the WonderWorks WonderKids event,  ART-OLINA Young Artist’s Gallery of the Carolinas, online science worksheets, sensory days, group rates, birthday parties and a homeschool program.

WonderWorks Myrtle Beach offers a variety of STEM- related activities, including virtual learning labs, science fair partnerships, on-site exhibits, activities and more. To learn more about the program, visit the site here. To learn more about the most recent career highlight, visit the site.

Revitalizing Your Relationship

When you have been in a relationship for a long time, you may find that the romance starts to wane. While you may both still love each other, your time is taken up by other things and this leaves little time for romance. Many couples enjoy a lot of romance at the start of the relationship but once they have been together for a long time, this part of the relationship starts to fizzle away. However, it is important to try and keep the romance alive.

When couples want to add fresh life to their physical relationship, they often invest in things such as intimate products. However, when it comes to injecting more romance into the relationship, you need to do things that are from the heart and meaningful. The good news is that you do not have to spend a fortune when it comes to being romantic and showing your partner how much you care. There are various things you can do, some of which we will look at in this article.

Some Romantic Ways to Show You Care

Being romantic with your partner from time to time is important – even though they may know you love them it is nice to show it as well. There are some simple and effective ways in which you can inject a little more romance into your relationship.

One thing you can do is to whisk your partner off for an impromptu romantic picnic one afternoon. You can get some delicious picnic food in, get a cool bag for chilled wine and drinks, and then head to a local park or beach where you can both relax. This is a great way for you both to unwind, spend some quality time together, and enjoy the great outdoors.

Another thing you may want to consider is rustling up a fabulous romantic meal for your partner at home. If the weather is nice, you can even set up your table on the patio and have romantic twinkling fairy lights. While this might sound daunting, you don’t have to have superb culinary skills to cook for your significant other! Just simply follow an online recipes and you will be sure to impress your partner.

Romance can also be about having some fun, so another thing you can do is arrange a fun day out as a couple. You could go to an exciting theme park where you can stroll hand in hand and enjoy the excitement of the rides. Or you may want to go on a fun date to a place you used to go to when you first met such as going to the movies or a favorite restaurant.

These are all great ways of bringing back a little romance into your relationship while also having a little fun.

FERRARI WORLD

FERRARI WORLD: WHERE AUTOMOTIVES MEET CARNIVAL TYPE RECREATION

“IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, YOU CAN DREAM FOR IT”. Picture this. Stalls and booths of classic and supercars parked in rows with kids testing them out. Miniaturized renditions of famous racetracks where you get to drive. A rollercoaster designed with Ferrari in mind considered to be the fastest in the world. What might seem like every gear head’s dream is actually one of the star attractions that shines across the landscape of Abu Dhabi.

The automotive amusement park is home to the Formula Rossa that has an acceleration: 0-240km/h in 4.9sec, 0 -100km/h in 2sec with a G-Force of 1.7Gs, matching that of an actual Ferrari supercar.

But that’s just the beginning. You could enjoy an ebullient change of speed and explore miniature Italy in a small-scale Ferrari 250 California, circa 1958 adorned with cityscapes to famous landmarks and racing venues like Portofino and the Amalfi Coast, Monza Racetrack, the Colosseum di Roma, Venezia, and of course, Maranello.

The amusement park was inaugurated in the year 2010 and is the world’s first Ferrari themed park as well as the largest indoor theme park. The design of the park itself is a homage to the classic double curve side profile of the Ferrari GT body. The United Arab Emirates has a tendency to overdo in terms of world records and even here there seems to be no stone unturned. The Ferrari logo that sits at the complex’s center, a stunning 65m x 48.5m logo,  is the largest Ferrari logo ever created.

Top must see attractions are all centered around Ferrari’s extensive history including the V12, a flume ride, the G-Force tower, which takes visitors to a height of 62m, and the Pit Wall, where participants can make race-day judgment calls. Racing and driving simulators are available as well that might cause visitors to burn away some cash but its entirely worth it.

For the really adventurous, Ferrari World also includes the Paddock, which puts you into the shoes of a Ferrari pit crew on a Grand Prix day, and a museum that tracks the history of the car brand from its earliest days to its current unmatched dominance.

For car lovers and history lovers, UAE is a definite destination to visit and explore. And Ferrari World is just one of the several major setups that deserves a worthy mention. So why wait? Head on down to the heart of a country that rose from the desert to shine at the Arabian Gulf.

SCHLITTERBAHN WATERPARKS

Schlitterbahn New Braunfels Waterpark is the #1 Waterpark in the World for the last 19 Years.

Located on the banks of the spring fed Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas, Schlitterbahn’s flagship waterpark has 51 attractions on over 70 acres. Family-owned and operated, Schlitterbahn provides a staggering variety and miles of river rides, waterslides, and adventures from mild to wild.

Waterpark Location: 400 North Liberty Avenue, New Braunfels, Texas 78130

The Resort at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is open year-round. Guests can enjoy the family excitement and convenience of a resort and waterpark during the summer and the beauty of a Hill Country Getaway year-round. With hotel rooms, one and two bedroom suites, Riverbend Cabins, Treehaus Luxury Suites, and vacation homes, The Resort at Schlitterbahn has a wide range of accommodations for any type of vacation.
Four Adventures – One Waterpark

The Original Schlitterbahn: Home to the signature Schlitterbahn Castle, this section of the park uses springfed water from the Comal River. Nestled beneath a beautiful canopy of trees, this section of the park has eight tube chutes, seven kids’ play areas, a wave pool, and swim up bars with heated pools. On the wild side: the Down Hill Racer and the Soda Straws. On the mild side: the Raging River and the Congo River Expedition.
Surfenburg: Named for the world’s first surfing wave invented 26 years ago, the Boogie Bahn, Surfenburg is also home to the first uphill water coaster, The Dragon’s Revenge – invented 22 years ago. Also in Surfenburg: the Kristal River which circles Squirt’n Sliden, a giant kids’ play area.

Blastenhoff turns 21!: The most award-winning attraction in Schlitterbahn history, the Master Blaster, turns 21 in 2017. Using patented water injection technology, the Master Blaster starts at the top of a six story tower in Blastenhoff. (Two other rides also take off from the same tower.) Surrounding the “Blast Tower” is the Torrent Wave River – also invented 21 years ago – which combines an endless river with a wave pool for unlimited fun.

Tubenbach: Tubenbach features The Falls, the world’s longest tubing adventure. The Tubenbach area features several no-wait attractions and beaches allowing park guests to enjoy the rides without standing in line. Also, several of the Tubenbach attractions are interconnected through an innovative Transportainment® river, which allows guests to float their way throughout the Tubenbach area.

Overall, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels has four times the rides and attractions of any waterpark within 200 miles, and twice the number of attractions of any waterpark within 500 miles. Our naturally landscaped park with hundred-year-old oak, cedar, and cypress trees creates a completely different experience from the typical “hard-scaped” waterparks. We call those old school parks “cement, stairs, and slides” versus Schlitterbahn’s rivers, trees, and rides.

Green Schlitterbahn

Schlitterbahn’s commitment to the environment is long standing. From the way the original park was designed to flow among trees, to the commitment to water conservation (98% of the water is recycled through filtration), to maintaining recycling containers throughout the parks, Schlitterbahn believes in sustainability. The development team, which builds our new parks and attractions at Schlitterbahn, constantly looks for ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Premium Cabanas

Schlitterbahn has expanded the number of available cabanas to include everything from BBQ palapas to super-sized cabanas suitable for ten people to share. Luxury cabanas with mini-fridges and TVs were successfully launched summer of 2015.

Operating Hours

Schedule: Schlitterbahn New Braunfels Waterpark is open for Spring Break March 11-19, 2017 (only our Blastenhoff area), then open weekends beginning April 14, 2017 and daily beginning May 12, 2017 to August 27, 2017. The park returns to weekend operation September 2-17, 2017. Park hours vary throughout the season as does attraction availability. Online Schedule

Lodging Year Round: Schlitterbahn has a wide variety of resort accommodations open year-round. Admission to the waterpark for resort guests is included as a Splash, Sleep, Repeat Package while the waterpark is in operation.

Free Parking and Picnics: At Schlitterbahn parking is free for everyone. Schlitterbahn guests can bring a picnic from home (no glass or alcohol please). There is no charge for tubes, life vests or boogie boards.

Awards

The unique character of the park has led amusement park fans to vote Schlitterbahn New Braunfels the “World’s Best Waterpark” nineteen years in a row. The park’s six-story Master Blaster® Uphill Water Coaster has been voted the “World’s Best Waterpark Ride” repeatedly. The park also won the “World’s Best New Waterpark Ride” Award for four years for; the Dragon’s Revenge Water Coaster (2008), the Congo River Expedition, a heavily themed jungle ride (2009), and most recently The Falls, the world’s longest tubing adventure (2011).

History

Schlitterbahn, which means “slippery road” in German, was opened in 1979 by the Henry family with four water slides starting from a German-style tower. The tower was patterned after the Bergfried Guard Tower at Solms Castle in Braunfels, Germany – home of the original settlers of New Braunfels. The Henry family added the tower and the slides on a hill next to their resort, known back then as the Landa Resort. The family has continued to innovate, creating new ways to have fun with water that are imitated throughout the industry. More History
