Morgan Wallen – Dangerous: The Double Album

MORGAN WALLEN UNLEASHES TRIPLE THREAT PREVIEW OF DANGEROUS: THE DOUBLE ALBUM

HOTLY ANTICIPATED SOPHOMORE ALBUM PRE-ORDER LIVE NOW

Big Loud Records’ CMA New Artist of the Year Morgan Wallen barrels forward full speed ahead this week, launching the pre-order for his highly-anticipated sophomore album Dangerous: The Double Album and dropping a triple shot of brand-new music today.

The trio – “Somebody’s Problem” (writers: Wallen, Rodney Clawson, Jacob Durrett, Ernest Keith Smith), “Still Goin Down” (writers: Wallen, Michael Hardy, Ryan Vojtesak), and “Livin’ The Dream” (writers: Wallen, Ben Burgess, Jacob Durrett, Michael Hardy) – continues to crack open the broad range of Wallen’s 30-track double dip.

“Somebody’s Problem” is a twisty, deceptively sweet love song, where “Still Goin Down” adds to Wallen’s collection of signature, Tennessee-pride-riddled, hometown anthems, touting the lifestyle he knows from experience. “Livin’ The Dream” is Wallen’s most self-reflective slow burner to date, gripping from the start and brutally honest.

LISTEN TO “SOMEBODY’S PROBLEM,” “STILL GOIN DOWN,” AND “LIVIN’ THE DREAM

Following fan favorites “This Bar” and “Heartless,” and current singles “More Than My Hometown” and “7 Summers,” the Joey Moi-produced trifecta of new music builds on the sonic foundation laid by Wallen’s PLATINUM #1 debut album, If I Know Me, combining modern production styles with traditional Country lyricism and instrumentation, exuding “an authenticity fans can feel” (PEOPLE).

PRE-ORDER DANGEROUS: THE DOUBLE ALBUM HERE

This weekend, Wallen is nominated for two American Music Awards, Favorite Male Artist – Country and Favorite Album Country (If I Know Me), and performed an exclusive version of his verging #1 single “More Than My Hometown” for Xfinity in celebration of the big night.

Releasing January 8, Dangerous: The Double Album is already becoming one of 2021’s most exciting new releases, with Billboard anticipating, “if Wallen’s sophomore LP sounds like ‘More Than My Hometown,’ country music is likely going to have a new superstar.”

KEEP UP WITH MORGAN WALLEN

Sheppard, Australia, republic records, 360 MAGAZINE

SHEPPARD RELEASES ALBUM

Australian hitmakers Sheppard have had a whirlwind 12 months – after releasing their #1 ARIA sophomore album Watching the Sky (June 2018 via ), the band – Amy, George, and Emma Sheppard along with Jay Bovino – went on to perform shows all over the globe, appear as an Australian finalist in the Eurovision song competition, and spark a global body positivity movement with #kissmyfatass this summer. Now, the band is back with new single “Die Young,” which is out today, October 18th, via your preferred listening service. Sheppard has also shared a stunning new video for the track, watch here.

In late February, the band took a break from performing after George was diagnosed with a throat injury. After spending months on vocal rest, it became clear that he required surgery, which he underwent in September. The forced rest and songwriting sessions led him to consider what kind of artist he was outside of Sheppard, culminating in a two-week long silent retreat in the mountains. At the same time, Amy was igniting an important conversation about body shaming and beauty standards with the global #kissmyfatass campaign.

“We began to ask what we wanted next, for ourselves individually, for the band and for our fans. We wrote ‘Die Young’ as though it was a ‘final’ Sheppard song; a song about appreciating each day and living it as though it was your last,” George says. In the midst of this introspection, the band’s core team of Amy, George and Jay came together again to record “Kiss My Fat Ass,” a chance for the trio to reconnect creatively after many months.

“When Jay, Amy and I finally got back into the studio to record ‘Kiss My Fat Ass,’ it was such a fun new sound for us and the three of us worked great together,” said George. “It was clear each of us had been on our own individual journeys of reflection and growth. It reminded me of the early days of writing for the first album and how much fun it was to rediscover ourselves musically.”

Together, the band realized that far from being an artistic shackle, Sheppard was a vehicle of creative energy and foundation for each of their individual pursuits. “Die Young” sees Sheppard in top form – lush production, full vocal harmonies, and an existential optimism parallel with the band’s own journey throughout the last year.
Listen to “Die Young” now and be on the lookout for more from Sheppard soon. For the most up-to-date information, please visit www.wearesheppard.com.

Alison Wonderland Kicks Off Headline Tour

Tonight, Alison Wonderland will launch her summer U.S. headline tour with a sold-out show at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, CO. A second Denver show has been added on August 4. The run includes concerts at Seattle’s WaMu Theatre (August 10) and Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles (August 17). See below for itinerary. Tickets are available at alisonwonderland.com.

The outing follows Wonderland’s performances at numerous festivals. Run The Trap hailed her set at Belgium’s Tomorrowland as “a work of art, unforgettable.” Dancing Astronaut named her as one of the “artists you can’t miss at Spring Awakening” and ran this Q&A with WonderlandThe Chicago Tribune said, “Alison Wonderland, the only woman appearing on a main stage this year, ushered in the evening with a buoyant set that featured her singles ‘Church’ and ‘Easy.’ Billboard ranked her performance among the Top 5 Dance Highlights at Coachella and noted, “Wonderland came to the table with nothing but a home run on the menu.”

Naming her as one of the “breakout musicians ready to rock your summer,” Elle observed, ‘Wonderland’ punctuates lyrics about self-worth and self-care with soul-thumping beats.” She is touring in support of her sophomore album, AWAKE (Astralwerks), which entered Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart at No. 1 a feat she also accomplished with her self-titled 2015 debut album, Run.

Wonderland brought her writing and producing skills to each of AWAKE’s 14 tracks and was joined in the studio by a red-hot roster of collaborators, including Joel Little (Lorde), Illangelo (The Weeknd), Party Favor (Mad Decent) and long-time friend Lido. Features include Chief Keef on “Dreamy Dragon” and Trippie Redd on “High.”

One of the latest remixes from AWAKE is from Valentino Khan. One of EDM’s biggest names, Khan has collaborated with the likes of Diplo, Skrillex and Steve Aoki and regularly flips the biggest tracks from the world’s biggest stars. His thunderous remix of “Good Enough” pushes up the BPM to fever pitch, combining his impeccable production chops with the ghosts of UK bassline and hardcore. Check out Khan’s up for it, rave-ready remix of “Good Enough” HERE.

EDM Tunes praised London-based duo Billion’s ‘dance ready remix’ of “Easy.” Billion comprising Ed Butler and Robbie Lamond are known for their eclectic blend of garage, house and techno and have earned support from the BBC’s Skream, Annie Mac and Mistajam. Download / stream “Easy” (Billion Remix) HERE.

Kaivon who found his audience with a striking series of singles based on the theme of rebirth has also remixed “Easy.” In a track premiere, YourEDM.com said, “Kaivon keeps the emotional tone while pumping up the energy just a bit, turning the more ballad-like original into a future bass climax. It’s not hard to imagine the pyrotechnics that might accompany this track in a set, or the reaction from the crowd when it’s dropped.” Download / stream “Easy” (Kaivon Remix) HERE.

STREAM NEW SONGS “ALL I WANNA DO” & “COME AT ME”

Multi-platinum recording artist, DEV is set to release her sophomore album, I Only See You When I’m Dreamin’ (IOSYWID) September 8, which is available for pre-order now HERE! Fans who pre-order the album will receive two new songs, the sassy-sweet “All I Wanna Do,” and the female anthem “Come At Me.” This will mark DEV’s first album to be released simultaneously to retail and streaming platforms. With a crew of collaborators that include Sarah Hudson (Katy Perry, Halsey, Rita Ora), MNDR, Marko Penn and producers Sam Sumser, Ritual, Isaac Valens and Mike Mac, the album finds Dev reclaiming her bass-heavy hip-pop beats that shot her to chart stardom, but with a reinvigorated sense of singer-songwriter swagger.

(Album artwork; Photo Credit: Maezee Tailes)

“All I Wanna Do” prompts the familiar Dev-like bounce, while lyrically the track ventures into Minaj-worthy raunch, but it’s Dev’s vocals and harmonies that shine through the sass. “The balance of how bouncy it is, but with how sexy and girly the lyrics and melody are fit really well,” Dev says of the track. “Usually a lot of male driven songs will usually be like ‘I wanna F you!’ so this will be so fun to perform from my point of view.” The additional release, “Come at Me” is somewhat of a yin to “All I Wanna Do”’s yang. Lyrically, Dev urges a “don’t-take-any-BS” attitude over a highly catchy melody.

In it’s entirety, IOSYWID, serves as ode to Dev’s past—the good, the bad, the fun and the sad. Inspired by dreams and thoughts about those who she has since lost touch with, the vibe of the album radiates a theme of self-reflection from her current perspective. Dev takes listeners on a full-circle journey from late night sexting (“Drunk Texting” – OUT Thursday 8/4!) to piano-laden heartbreak (“Alone Again”)

This full-length album follows Dev’s break-out 2012 debut album, The Night the Sun Came Up, which features the platinum “In the Dark,” and landed her critical acclaim, spots on influential end-of-year lists, numerous brand syncs and commercial success. In 2013 and 2014 she released two complimenting EPs, Bittersweet July Part I and Bittersweet July Part II. 2016 saw the release and success of “#1” f/ Nef the Pharoah, which peaked at #15 on the rhythmic radio chart. With over 350M video views, a Billboard #1 hit, multi-platinum & gold certified song successes, and countless collaborations, IOSYWID promises to propel Dev as the sleek, speak-sing, pop pioneer of her generation.

Q&A’s

Tell us about your new album. How did it come together? Who did you work with?

  • My new album! It’s called I Only See You When I’m Dreamin’ and I had an awesome opportunity to work with a bunch of different people on this project. Amazing artists, writers and producers. Everyone involved in this album helped to push me out of my comfort zones and create everything I could’ve wanted. I had such a specific vision for this project. I was having vivid dreams of someone who I no longer speak to and these songs reflect that person and specific moments of my past. I’m so happy with the overall outcome and I’m so excited for everyone to listen!! Shout out to Marko Penn, Isaac Valens, The 87’s, MNDR & Rey Reel

—Do you have a favorite track or tracks on the album? Why?

I love them all for different reasons! There’s some slaps, some with more emotional vibes and even a couple voice notes from people close to me. It was a process of gathering these songs over the course of two years so they’re all special to me.

—It’s been 5 years since your debut album. Since then you’ve put out some mixtape EPs and singles. Why the long gap in between LPs?

  • Honestly, the timing never felt right to release album 2 until now. I had been through a lawsuit for a year and a half where I couldn’t release music, my daughter was born with a gnarly birth defect that had us living in and out of the hospital, I never stopped touring and I was in the studio a bunch, so everything felt very intense for a few years. I needed to keep living, experiencing and finally come around to putting together songs that felt right. I had the opportunity coming off of having successful songs in the past to be true to myself and be patient. And one day the list of songs came together, the title and I knew it was right!

—How have you changed since your debut album? Musically and personally?

  • I’ve grown up a bit since my first project. I’ve grown more aware and appreciative of life and opportunity. I still love to pop bottles though lol! But I think the lessons I’ve learned in the past 5 years have been crucial to me becoming the BEST ME & I’m getting there.

—How do you think your fans will react to this new body of music? And do you feel like it’s different from the previous music you’ve put out?

  • I hope they’ll love it! I hope it makes them happy and want to have a good time! I think this project isn’t as “dancey” if you will – as my first project, but the core of who I am is still very present. Times have changed and music continues to change, so there’s obvious differences, but it’s still allllllll me!

—Can fans expect to see you on tour soon?

  • Yes! I’ll be announcing dates very soon! I can’t wait to get back on the road.

—Any fun stories from the studio you can share?

  • So many fun times recording this project! I’ll never forget the night I was working on ‘come at me’ and when I was finished we opened all the doors to the outside are and played it super loud and I remember feeling infinite. All of a sudden all the crazy shit I went through in the past 5 years didn’t matter/we’re okay. I felt strong. I’m sure the neighbors hated that I played it 100 times haha but I couldn’t help it. It was awesome. That feeling is why I make music, it’s pretty indescribable.

—What are the most important lessons you have learned on your journey in the music industry?

  • The most important lessons: stay true to yourself, no one else can ever be you even if they try! Surround yourself with the right people, people who believe in you even when you might slightly question yourself. Work hard and then work even harder. And live in the moment! Music is a magical thing.

—Any particular people you’d like to collaborate with in the future?

  • Robyn. Karen O. Nelly Furtado. Gwen Stefani. Flume. Mnek. Mo. I don’t know I’m a fan of so many people!

—Describe the sound of the new album.

  •  It’s light. Wild. Fun. Top down on an unexpected road trip type album.
