ABOUT LOLA BROOKE 

Few have been able to stay true to the roots that is Brooklyn, New York while also possessing the necessary charisma and talent to transcend its world-renowned identity. However, Lola Brooke has shown herself to be just that, while also making a stand-out case as one of the new heavyweights in a city that might just boast the best legacy in all of Hip-Hop. Though short in stature, her lyrical presence and personality cast a skyscraper-sized shadow over the game. With quotable lyrics and unforgettable bars, she delivers street-influenced songs with an unwavering confidence and an unpredictable cadence that evokes an essence reminiscent of the golden age of Hip Hop as she leans into the future of music with genre-busting fire.    

Lola’s love for rap started at an early age. Inspired by artists such as Meek Mill, Lil Wayne, and Foxy Brown, she began writing music as early as eight years old. Lola dropped her first music video to a freestyle titled “2017 Flow” and instantly started to build a buzz in the city. She continued to release numerous songs, each one displaying her incredible rapping skills and starlike persona; but it was her song “Don’t Play With It” that really started to grab people’s attention. Soon after, she started to perform at events such as Rolling Loud NYC, Break The Internet Fest, and HOT97’s “Who’s Up Next” showcase as well as a halftime performance for her beloved hometown team the Brooklyn Nets. She closed out the 2022 year pulling up to Future’s sold-out show at Barclays Center in her hometown of Brooklyn, NY eliciting massive roars from the crowd as soon as she hit the stage. During the first half of 2023, Lola embarked on her first nationwide tour with A Boogie wit da Hoodie, signaling her rising super-stardom status felt outside the East Coast. Later that year, she embarked on her first international touring stint, taking center stage on festival stages at WOO HAH! X ROLLING LOUD Festival in Rotterdam, Rolling Loud Portugal, Rolling Loud Germany, Splash Festival in Germany, Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park, London, Openair Festival in Frauenfeld Switzerland, and brought the efforts back to the states with acclaimed performance at Hot 97 Summer Jam, Rolling Loud Miami and Broccoli Festival.

SEA LIFE NJ

While countless football experts are weighing in from land, SEA LIFE New Jersey is plunging into their own pick for the big game! SEA LIFE New Jersey is having one of their smartest sea creatures make its own football prediction!

Their football-predicting spider crab has been making his picks all season for the Jets and Giants games on SEA LIFE’s Instagram page. He has an impressive 67% success rate.

The Aquarists at SEA LIFE continue to put his football expertise to the test by placing the teams’ helmets into his exhibit ahead of the big game. Without any hesitation, he quickly decided that the Kansas City Chiefs would be the winner for Sunday’s game, by making his way over to their helmet.

While many things are on the line during the big game on Sunday, now there is one more thing to add to the list – the name of the crab. The crustacean will either be named Brock, after Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers or Patrick after Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, from the winning quarterback.

Five-time JUNO Award nominee TALK – whose debut single “Run Away to Mars” soared to No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay chart in 2023 – launches his first-ever North American headline tour tonight at El Club in Detroit. Eccentric, flashy, and colorful, TALK has already established himself as a powerhouse on stage, touring with such artists as Imagine Dragons, Shania Twain, The Lumineers and Young The Giant.

The shows promise to be epic as TALK brings his debut album, Lord of the Flies & Birds & Bees, to life. The 35-date run includes shows at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles (February 22) and New York City’s Irving Plaza (March 8). Zinadelphia will support. TALK has created “I’m One of the Rest,” to score CBS’ trailer promoting the debut of the Original series “Tracker,” which stars Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw, a lone-wolf survivalist who roams the country as a reward seeker, using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all manner of mysteries while contending with his own fractured family. The new series will premiere on Sunday, February 11, after SUPER BOWL LVIII, on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+. “I had the pleasure of working alongside the CBS “Tracker” team to bring this song to life,” says TALK. “It was an extremely enjoyable collaboration and I’m honored it’s playing such a big role in launching the show. They gave me pieces of the story to go on and I used those moments and feelings they expressed to craft this song as one of my own.”

TALK is nominated for five JUNO Awards, making him one of three artists with the most nominations. Lord of the Flies & Birds & Bees is nominated for Album of the Year and Alternative Album of the Year while “A Little Bit Happy” is up for Single of the Year. TALK, who will perform at the March 24 ceremony, also received nods for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.

“History,” another track from Lord of the Flies & Birds & Bees, has attracted the attention of Elton John, who recently played the song on his Apple Music show, “Rocket Hour.” TALK has played festivals around the world including Lollapalooza (Chicago and Berlin), RADAR Switzerland, Boston Calling, Festival d’été de Québec, Calgary Stampede and more. Rolling Stone caught up with him during festival season. Released by Capitol Records and available HERE, Lord of the Flies & Birds & Bees also includes the hit single “Run Away to Mars.” The hard-hitting collection shoots for the stars—and stadiums—with inspiration from Meatloaf, Broadway and ‘80s/’90s rock. While the album navigates a flood of emotions—both good and bad—it ultimately sees hope prevail.

LuisaViaRoma Celebrates the Lunar New Year together with the artist Sean Wu via 360 MAGAZINE.

Sean Wu’s Bamboo Install

On the occasion of the 2024 Lunar New Year, LuisaViaRoma celebrates the Year of the Dragon with an immersive in-store installation in collaboration with the Chinese designer Sean Wu.

Sean Wu’s bamboo installation for LuisaViaRoma weaves together eastern aesthetics and sustainable materials to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The Year of the Dragon starts from February 10th and it is one of the most popular out of the twelve zodiac signs. According to Chinese culture, the dragon symbolizes good fortune, excellence and determination, dignity and divinity, power over weather and water, and a pioneering spirit.

The core element of the dedicated installation at LuisaViaRoma store is the bamboo, an extremely symbolic material for Chinese culture, representing toughness, grace and harmony.

Alongside the entrance of the store, immediately under the arch, an ornamental bamboo sculpture invites the visitors to immerse themselves into the peculiar masterpiece by Sean Wu, while the screen right behind it is reproducing video footage of bamboo artworks. To set up the main in-store installation, the artist crafted the bamboo sticks in order to recreate the undulating, waving dragon shapes, made even more attractive by an inner lighting system as artistic embellishment to let visitors dive into three different spatial artistic plans. 

The dragon installations, crafted from organic materials, highlight Sean Wu’s focus on sustainable designs. The spatial experience showcases the captivating dragon motif to celebrate the Lunar New Year. 

“I believe that creativity has the power to touch hearts and create connections between people. Just like the spirit of a dragon, it lies in the ability to connect and unite,” says Sean Wu.

The installation is on display at the LuisaViaRoma store in Florence from February 6th until the 21st.

Super Bowl Soulful Celebration

The vibrant Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Resort Casino set the stage for a historic evening of inspiration and entertainment as the “Super Bowl Soulful Celebration” celebrated its quarter-century milestone. Hosted by the dynamic duo Cedric the Entertainer and Tichina Arnold, and under the musical direction of Emmy Award-winning and Grammy-nominated Adam Blackstone, the event was an electrifying fusion of faith, fellowship, and football, directed by the talented Leon Knoles. The one-hour special premieres tonight, Saturday, February 10 at 8 p.m./9c on CBS and streams on Paramount+ (*live for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers) as well as on demand on Pluto TV and cbs.com for 90 days after the special airs.

In his acceptance speech, Stroud expressed how he discovered his purpose to serve the Lord and inspire youth, driven by the talent instilled in his heart. Encouraging others to use their burning passions as fuel for God’s calling, he emphasized how a mentor empowered him with these words of wisdom: “Your passion is greedy but your purpose is for others!”

Nate Burleson was honored with the Lifetime of Inspiration award, with CBS Mornings Host Gayle King attending in support and participating in the presentation via a video package.

Earth, Wind & Fire and T-Pain’s collaboration undoubtedly stole the show, setting a high standard for the energy and excitement of the upcoming Super Bowl. The event’s emphasis on the significance of national HBCUs further highlighted its commitment to celebrating diversity and fostering unity.

In collaboration with the Dream Wheel, LEGOLAND® Discovery Center New Jersey is hosting a free celebration for National Ferris Wheel Day on Tuesday, February 13.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center invites parents and kids of all ages to a free LEGO® building filled afternoon from 4:00pm – 6:00pm to learn how to build a LEGO Ferris Wheel from the attraction’s Master Model Builder. The event will be held outside of LEGOLAND Discovery Center Admissions at American Dream (Court A, Level 1). Guests can also participate in a raffle and enjoy a meet & greet with a LEGO character.
