You have spent so long building up your business, so the last thing that you want is for something to come along and ruin that. This is especially true if that something is you, or your employees. To avoid this, you’ve got to make sure that you’re offering the best on the market, that you’re marketing your business well, and even more.
That’s what we’re going to be focusing on today, so business owners have a more solid understanding of what steps can be taken to stop your business from blundering. So, if you’re ready, we’re going to get into it now.
Have A Plan For Future Success
The first thing that we want to talk about is having a plan for future success. You can’t just wing being a business owner, as this isn’t going to work out for you. Sure, you may be able to find some short-term success here, but that’s not the ultimate goal. The long-term should always be the priority, and that’s why a plan for future success is necessary.
We’re not saying that you have to come up with a plan right when you start your business and stick to it to the letter throughout your entire business life, as this isn’t always possible. You should be open to adapting your plan as needed, but still using the sense of direction that it gives.
Research What Customers Actually Want
The next thing that we want to talk about is researching what your customers actually want. It’s no use providing a product or service that nobody is actually interested in, as this isn’t going to spell out business success. So, if you’ve seen a sharp downturn and you’re wondering what the problem is, you should start here.
Get started researching what your customers want, what they are looking for when they search online, and how you can cater to this. Also, take a look at what other companies similar to you are offering, and what makes them a good option. Use all of this information to regroup, and see if you can adjust accordingly.
Make Use Of Technology
Technology is your friend, it’s not your enemy, and yet there are still business owners acting as though the latter is true. You need to work on changing your mindset, and start embracing technology as a part of business life, because it is. We live in the age of tech, and you simply can’t run away from it anymore.
Tech is helpful across all industries, with things like Slack eDiscovery assisting the legal world, specific pieces of tech and equipment being needed for engineering, and then the more general tech and software applicable to all businesses. Do your research here, figure out what you need, and start investing in it.
Hopefully, you have found this article helpful, and now have a more solid understanding of some of the things that you can do to stop your business from blundering so badly. It’s hard, we admit, but it’s possible if you put your mind to it.
American Federation of Arts Honors Three Champions of the Art World at Annual Gala & Cultural Leadership Awards in New York
The American Federation of Arts (AFA), the leader in traveling exhibitions worldwide since its founding in 1909, presented the 2025 Cultural Leadership Awards to three champions of the art world: Christian Levett, Howardena Pindelland Ann Temkin at its annual Gala on November 10. The event gathered leaders in art and culture to celebrate the outstanding contributions to the arts by these three honorees, at Guastavino’s in New York. Proceeds benefit the AFA’s Women in Art Initiative, which advances exhibitions and programs that elevate women artists. Proceeds also support the AFA’s nationally touring exhibitions and public programs that reach millions of museumgoers across the country.
“The American Federation of Arts is honored to present our 2025 Cultural Leadership Awards to Christian Levett, Howardena Pindell and Ann Temkin – three distinguished voices whose advocacy, collecting, and curatorial vision are instrumental in elevating women artists on the global stage. Each of these three honorees has played a pivotal role in shaping a more equitable world,” says Pauline Forlenza, Director & CEO of the American Federation of Arts. “The AFA’s mission is to propel art exhibitions to communities far and wide, so that people may benefit from broader access to art – especially artworks from underrepresented voices. It is especially meaningful that the AFA’s signature event pays homage to this mission by honoring these three champions of the art world,” adds Forlenza.
The marquee annual event brought together the country’s leading artists, museum directors, philanthropists, collectors, and art professionals to celebrate the AFA’s heritage and the honorees.
Among the arts leaders and influencers at the stellar event: Elizabeth Belfer, Kimerly Rorschach, Pamela Joyner, Monique Schoen Warshaw, Beth Rudin DeWoody, Judy Glickman Lauder, Ellen and Bill Taubman, Stephen Reily, Legacy Russell, Axel Rüger, Christophe Cherix, Jill Deupi, H. Alexander Rich, Dustin Yellin, Alexis Rockman, Mary-Kate O’Hare, Storm Ascher, Bonnie Lautenberg, Helena Guindo, Kathleen Goncharov, Gracie Mansion, Roberto Juarez, Reynier Llanes Marquez, J. Henry Fair, Tina Rivers Ryan, Helen Stoilas, Sarah Cascone and Alina Cohen. A table of MoMA curators was also present, in honor of the late Agnes Gund who generously supported the gala before she passed, including: Connie Butler, Stuart Comer, James Grooms, Ana Janevski, Michelle Kuo, Cara Manes and Smooth Nzewi.
“I feel deeply privileged and profoundly grateful to be recognized at the American Federation of Arts Gala and Cultural Leadership Awards, particularly given the extremely distinguished company that I am so lucky to find myself in,” says Christian Levett. “The American Federation of Arts is a true powerhouse in the art world, championing access to the visual arts for over a century through traveling exhibitions, publications, and educational programs. Their enthusiasm, professionalism and dedication to our project – Abstract Expressionists: The Women – a two-year touring exhibition of my collection highlighting the pioneering women of the New York School, has been nothing short of inspiring.” Levett is a British art collector, philanthropist, and founder of the Mougins Museum of Classical Art in France, which he established in 2011. His collection spans antiquities, modern, and contemporary art, with a particular focus on women artists. In 2021, he transformed his museum to highlight work by female painters and sculptors, building one of the most significant private holdings of women’s art in Europe. Levett is also an active supporter of institutions including the Ashmolean, the Courtauld, and the Fitzwilliam Museum, and funds initiatives to broaden representation in the arts.
“It is an honor to accept this award, especially in the company of such esteemed co-recipients. I am grateful to the AFA for its support of my work,” says the artist and educator Howardena Pindell. She is a pioneering artist, educator, and advocate whose work spans painting, collage, film, and installation. Pindell is the last living artist among the nationally acclaimed artists in Abstract Expressionists: The Women, the AFA’s new touring exhibition. A trailblazer in addressing issues of race, gender, and equity in contemporary art, she is celebrated for both her abstract, process-driven canvases and her powerful political works. Pindell was a curator at MoMA for over a decade before joining the faculty at Stony Brook University, where she is Professor of Art. Her work has been presented in major solo exhibitions at the Shed, MCA Chicago, and the Hirshhorn, and is held in the permanent collections of leading museums worldwide.
“I am delighted to join in celebrating the work of the AFA as an honoree at this year’s Gala,” says Ann Temkin. “The AFA has a remarkable history of connecting art and people, and this history resonates powerfully with issues that are top of mind today: how to position art and culture at the center of building community, how to share resources across institutions, and how to serve audiences across broad geographies. I look forward to the work ahead and extend my warmest gratitude to the AFA,” says Temkin. She has served as Chief Curator of Painting and Sculpture at The Museum of Modern Art since 2008. Her reimagining of its galleries features dynamic rotations and broadening acquisitions to include women artists, artists of African descent, and voices beyond Europe and North America. She has curated landmark exhibitions such as Matisse: The Red Studio (2022), Judd (2020), and Picasso Sculpture (2015), and co-edited Inventing the Modern: Untold Stories of the Women Who Shaped MoMA (2024). Previously Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, she is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and holds degrees from Harvard and Yale.
The AFA would like to thank our event sponsor Chargeurs Museum Studio: “The AFA’s mission to make art accessible to all resonates deeply with our own at Chargeurs Museum Studio. Together, we celebrate the power of design and exhibition-making to connect people and ideas across geographies and generations, honoring those who expand the reach and relevance of art today,” says Vincent Larnicol, the Deputy CEO of Chargeurs Museum Studio.

The 15th anniversary celebration of Merry Christmas II You marks the start of what is sure to be a stunning holiday season for Mariah. This year, the singer’s beloved end-of-year anthem “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” has re-entered the Billboard Hot 100, marking its earliest re-entry in chart history. Ever since it was first released in 1994, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” has been a permanent fixture in pop radio and in culture. The Christmas smash has more recently topped the chart every holiday season since 2019 and currently holds the record with 97 total weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Meanwhile, Mariah officially kicked off the holiday season with her annual “It’s Time” video, this time directed by Joseph Kahn and featuring comedian Billy Eichner as a makeup-pilfering elf. Later in the season, Mariah will spread an abundance of holiday cheer at her recently announced Christmas Time In Vegas residency, where she’ll perform songs from both Christmas albums — 1994’s Merry Christmas and 2010’s Merry Christmas II You — at Dolby Live at Park MGM from November 28 through December 13.
In addition to the Amazon-exclusive version of Merry Christmas II You, Mariah has teamed up with Amazon Music to launch the Christmastime by Mariah Holiday Collection, a holiday-themed merch assortment featuring a party-ready “All I Want For Christmas Is You” sweater, a warm and cozy PJ set, fluffy socks, tree ornaments, and, for anyone who loves to bake, a festive apron and three-piece spatula set. The merch collection also features a very special “All I Want For Christmas Is You” musical snow globe inspired by Mariah’s classic music video, plus the return of fan-favorite items like the official Mariah Carey lawn inflatable, a bedazzled Tumbler, and Mariah-themed blankets and earmuffs.
Mariah’s latest Christmas celebration caps off a monumental year for the performer. In September, Mariah released her 16th studio album, Here For It All, which received widespread acclaim and debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, becoming the singer’s 19th top ten album on the chart overall. Here For It All also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart and at number 31 on the UK Albums Chart, becoming Mariah’s 20th top 40 album in the UK.
Earlier this year, Mariah celebrated the 20th anniversary of her multi-platinum 10th album, The Emancipation of Mimi, home to era-defining pop/R&B singles “It’s Like That,” “We Belong Together,” “Shake It Off,” “Get Your Number,” “Fly Like A Bird,” and “Say Somethin.’” The deluxe vinyl box set featured three bonus LPs of remixes, including “Don’t Forget About Us” by Kaytranada, which was just nominated for a GRAMMY for Best Remixed Recording, plus Mariah’s unforgettable performance of “Don’t Forget Us” / “We Belong Together” from the 2024 American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special.
Heading into the 2026 GRAMMY season, Mariah has been named MusiCares’ Person of the Year. The 35th annual Person of the Year benefit gala will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, two nights before the 2026 GRAMMY Awards at the Crypto.com Arena.

Drones these days are just “emerging tech;” they’re now an integrated part of many businesses and sectors. They’re more than just novelty gear your amateur photographer plays with for fun — they’ve embedded themselves into normal operations across a wide section of genes.
From construction to agriculture, tourism, and media, drones are going quite literally where man can’t and helping companies revolutionise how they operate and the results they can deliver. Let’s take a look.
Agriculture Monitoring & Crop Health
Few sectors have seen such dramatic changes thanks to drones in agriculture. Precision farming went from a future concept to an everyday workflow with ease, and for farmers who need to squeeze every bit of efficiency out of their large acreage, they are integral tools for improved operations.
NDVI imaging, heat mapping, water distribution patterns — sensors translate fields into data, and that data shows things like early stress signals— sections not draining properly or a fungal pattern starting. And thanks to the aerial view the drones capture, problems are visible long before they would be at ground level.
Emergency Response & Public Safety Operations
Search and rescue teams have always been the people ready to jump in feet first to help those in need. And now, thanks to drones, the aerial visibility has helped them to be more responsive and get immediate overhead assessments to enable them to make better decisions and avoid going into situations blindly.
Drones enable responders to track heat signatures, where debris has shifted, and get a bird’s-eye view before feet on the ground even get close, so they can anticipate what lies ahead.
Fire departments use drones for wildfire mapping or post-fire scene evaluation. Police departments use them to monitor hazardous scenes without putting officers in direct danger.
Emergency managers use them during storms to identify road blockages, stranded vehicles, and the safest route for emergency responders to take in difficult situations.
The thing is, time matters in emergencies, and drones shave those minutes down.
Media, Film & Creative Production
Media is always a place where tech has felt accessible, and this is where you’re likely to find the most cutting-edge technology and advances. It’s little wonder that drones have been a common part of media, film, and creative production for a long time now.
Aerial shots went from big-budget only to something a two-person crew could manage. This has led to drones becoming a common part of things like film production sets, weddings, travel content, and documentary sequences — all of it now easier due to drones replacing crane hires and helicopter rentals.
And these drones aren’t just here for your hobbyist models — they care about the gear, meaning flight stability, compact sizes, and ease of control are practical details that matter when it comes to delivering results. That’s why they gravitate towards certain drones that offer what they need. This is why smaller crews especially choose to buy the DJI Neo 2 mid upgrade because it fits that sweet spot between portability and capability,
Lastly, one sector that is seeing massive success with drone footage is real estate. Real estate markets now also rely heavily on drones. Everyone is familiar with those smooth overhead neighbourhood sweeps and tight exterior orbits these days. They’re a standard in listings and help properties stand out by capturing footage that can really show off a property in its best light.
Environmental Monitoring & Wildlife Protection
Conservation work always struggles with two things: terrain and distance. You can’t walk miles of dense woodland every week, and you can’t check coastline erosion manually without delays. Drones, however, can. They have changed how ecologists track ecosystems — not because they make the work easy but because they make it possible.
Wildlife teams also use drones to observe sensitive species without disturbing them. Nesting zones, migration pathways, and herd movement — all monitored with minimal impact. Rangers use drones to detect illegal logging or poaching activity that might otherwise be missed until it’s too late.
When it comes to drone usage within environmental agencies, drones help collect data on coastline erosion and monitor flood mapping, and more. Climate impacts move fast, and traditional surveying just cannot keep up.
Logistics & Delivery Testing Programs
This is the sector with the biggest gap between potential and regulation. But even with slow progress, the trials have been promising. Remote location deliveries — medical supplies, essential equipment, lab samples — already happen in controlled programs. Rural communities gain faster access to medication. Hospitals can move small but time-sensitive items without typing up vehicles.
Drone parcel delivery testing is still restricted, but major carriers keep leaning into controlled pilots. Drones can cut last-mile delivery times in sparsely populated areas where vans are inefficient. Urban deployment is trickier, obviously, but the momentum isn’t slowing.
But even with this full-scale rollout, logistics teams have used drones for things like warehouse yard management, inventory assessments in large industrial zones, and traffic flow optimization within distribution centers. They don’t replace vehicles, but they cover the tasks the vehicles weren’t able to fully handle in the first place.
Security & Surveillance for Large Sites
When it comes to security for large sites, drones were adopted through necessity. Some sites are just too large or too remote for traditional security patrols. Think rail yards, ports, industrial plants, solar farms, and stadiums — places with wide perimeters and multiple blind spots.
Instead of relying just on cameras, drones provide real-time mobile surveillance to monitor thermal abnormalities at night and document suspicious movement. This removes the secrecy intruders rely on, as they can’t predict blind spots as accurately as they once did.
Event organisers use drones for crowd flow monitoring — It’s not too intrusive, it’s just practical. By seeing bottlenecks and areas safety teams need to be aware of faster, it means more eyes on the ground helping where it’s needed and when rather than after it becomes a bigger problem.
The most interesting thing here is the wide range of applications that you can employ drones in, and as technology evolves, so too will drone capabilities. All it took was for one sector to see the benefits of drones, and many more followed suit — a pattern you expect to see in the future as drone usage becomes more widespread and accepted.

Launched in 2016, the Rolls-Royce Black Badge family was created for individuals who refuse to be defined by traditional ideas of Rolls-Royce ownership.
These motor cars were designed and engineered for those who set their own rules, who see luxury not as perfection on pristine city roads, but as the freedom to carve their own path, wherever it leads.
Black Badge amplifies that spirit with heightened performance, darker aesthetics, and a dynamic presence that defies every convention of the marque.
Earlier this month, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars brought ten guests to a special Black Badge Adventure to demonstrate this image in the most unexpected setting: the open desert. Black Badge Ghost, Black Badge Cullinan, and the all-new Black Badge Spectre — the most powerful Rolls-Royce ever built — met sand, gravel, and salt flats with poise and purpose. No one expects a Rolls-Royce to be slicing through the wilderness or kicking up dust on closed desert roads. But those are the old rules, today this is exactly where Black Badge feels at home.
Spectre soared across the landscape with refined force. Cullinan showed its ultra-luxury confidence while offering more than its share of fun. Ghost carried its iconic refinement into terrain no sedan has any business mastering — and did so effortlessly. The dried lakebed offered no boundaries, the core of Black Badge.
Black Badge is not about rebellion for rebellion’s sake. It’s about identity. These are motor cars for the bold, the unscripted, the ones who reject the stereotype of what a Rolls-Royce “should” be. Last year in the United States, around one-third of Rolls-Royce clients chose to express themselves through Black Badge. It’s not for everyone, it for an individual.
Luxury isn’t staying inside the lines — it’s choosing your own horizon. Black Badge is for those who dare to live beyond expectations.
