Elektra recording group Saint Motel have shared their brand new single entitled Preach today. Available now at all DSPs and streaming services HERE, the track appears on the bands forthcoming THE ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK: PART 2, which is due out later this year and serves as the second installment of their three-part album, THE ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK. The quartets New World welcomes fans into a 3D VR chatroom enabled for all headsets and browsers. Saint Motels New World is in its final stages of development and set to launch imminently, upholding what has become a tradition of engaging with groundbreaking technology for the guys. In 2016, they dropped their Elektra full length debut saintmotelevision as the first-ever Virtual Reality album and first-ever Augmented Reality album and accompanied the record with the free Saintmotelevision app.

PART 1 was heralded by the infectious lead single Van Horn. Known for their cinematic aesthetic, the band brought the western-themed official music video for track directed by Saint Motel frontman A/J Jackson to life with an inventive performance on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! Earlier this year, the band sold out their entire North American headline tour in support of PART 1, culminating with hometown finale in Los Angeles, days before the country went into quarantine due to Covid-19.

In recent months, Saint Motel has made a concerted effort to mobilize their fans to join them on a pair of philanthropic causes through special, limited edition merchandise. With blood donations needed now more than ever, the band has partnered with The American Red Cross to offer a Just My Blood Type enamel pin, available for free to those who donate blood. Named for their breakout hit Just My Type, the pins are also available for purchase with 100% of net profits going to The American Red Cross.

Likewise, Saint Motel has joined with the National Independent Venue Associations #SaveOurStages campaign to ask Congress to provide aid to their network of nearly 2,000 independent live music venues across the country many of which the band has performed in that have been 100% shut down with zero revenue due to the pandemic. President Ford’s Birthday

To commemorate President Gerald R. Ford’s 107th birthday on July 14, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation is hosting events virtually this year due to COVID-19, including Facebook Live videos of the annual wreath laying ceremony and a panel discussion regarding the first-ever children’s book about President Ford.

The commemoration begins with a Facebook Live of the wreath laying ceremony at 9 a.m. July 14, at the Gerald R. Ford and Betty B. Ford burial site on the grounds of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. The ceremony is a combination of two traditions. The first, a long-standing presidential tradition of observing each deceased president’s birthday, during which the sitting president sends a wreath to be presented by a military officer. President Donald J. Trump’s wreath will be placed by Brig. General Paul Rogers. The second is a personal tribute established by first lady Betty Ford in 2007, which includes the presentation of a wreath from the Ford family. The family’ wreath will be placed by President Ford’s nieces and nephews. Following the ceremony, the Army Chorus will honor President Ford with a virtual choral tribute. The ceremony is available for public viewing on the Foundation’s Facebook page at 9 a.m.

In addition to the wreath laying ceremony, a children’s book about President Ford will be released to the public. “Truth and Honor: The President Ford Story,” written by Lindsey McDivitt, tells the story of President Ford at various stages in his life, from his early childhood years and his years at the University of Michigan, to his years in the Navy, Congress and then his presidency in the 1970s.

To celebrate the book’s release, the Foundation will host a Facebook Live panel discussion on the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation’s Facebook page. The panel discussion begins at 7 p.m. with McDivitt, and Mike Ford and Steve Ford, sons of President Ford and Betty Ford. The virtual discussion features the Ford brothers candidly sharing some of their fondest childhood memories of their parents and the lessons they learned from them. McDivitt shares her inspiration behind “Truth and Honor,” and the importance of providing high quality children’s books that teach history and provide role models. The panel presentation will be archived on the Foundation’s DeVos Learning Center website to be viewed any time.

Open in Time for One-Year Anniversary

Following the Official County of Los Angeles Department of Health guidelines, Lanea is proud to reopen its doors in time for their one-year anniversary with a new cruise-up take-out option featuring convenient cocktails and tacos for pick-up, expanded outdoor dining, and meal packages, all of which will make it easier and more affordable to safely eat outdoors as well as order takeout and/or delivery. To celebrate their return and one-year anniversary, this beachy Santa Monica cocktail bar and restaurant is launching an all-day “Taco & Tequila Happy Hour” with $2 tacos and $9 cocktails daily throughout the Summer, additional specials for National Tequila Day, and a variety of to-go fiesta meal packs including their Picnic Package, perfect for a day at the park or beach.

Located two blocks from the beach, Lanea is a spirit-driven cocktail bar and restaurant with an extensive variety of over 400 hand-selected Mezcals and tequilas. Their authentic Mexican cuisine is prepared by Petra Zavaleta, who hails from Tepeaca, Puebla, and rose to foodie fame with her underground barbacoa pop-ups, and later opened their eatery Barbakush in East L.A. Praised as one of the best Mexican eateries on the Westside, Petra and her family source their lamb locally from Chino Hills and prepare their barbacoa in an earthen pit, cooking it slowly over an open fire. Offering five different styles of classic tacos on their handmade-to-order corn tortillas, as well as chips and guacamole, they are the perfect complement to Lanea’s unique cocktail menu.

“It’s been a difficult and stressful year for Santa Monica’s small businesses, and I know we will collectively band together to weather all the hurdles 2020 has brought us. Petra and I, who are both immigrants, alongside our other partners, are really thankful and humbled by the local support as we continue to offer a safe, affordable outlet for the local community,” say owner Peter Trinh. “Come by and check out our new to-go small batched cocktails, canned in-house or our handmade gluten-free tacos, as we’d love to have you as our guest again.”

Upon reopening, Lanea has revamped their landscape and dining experience to safely accommodate customers, implementing the necessary protocols, to enhance the safety of patrons with regards to COVID-19. Lanea has added outdoor dining while abiding by the six-foot social distancing mandatory safety guidelines. Additional safety protocols include administering temperature checks to employees and diners, UV-light sanitizing, all staff must wear masks and gloves, hand sanitizer is readily available, and contactless ordering and payment has been implemented.

Lanea will be celebrating their one-year anniversary all Summer long with the launch of their new, all-day “Taco & Tequila Happy Hour,” featuring $2 tacos (of your choice), $9 canned cocktails (regularly $13), and frozen cocktails. Happy hour specials include $6 Chips & Guacamole and $4 Consome, which is bone broth with chipotle chickpeas, onion, and cilantro. Patrons can enjoy a variety of $2 taco offerings including Barbacoa Tacos, wrapped in banana leaves and are pit-roasted underground, served with guacamole; Asada Tacos, grilled steak seasoned with Petra’s seasoning, served with guacamole; Pollo Tacos, grilled chicken seasoned with Petra’s seasonings, served with guacamole, cilantro and onions; Vegetarian Tacos, with mushrooms and spinach; Sopes Tacos, with beans and asada topped with Mexican cream, served with guacamole, cilantro and onions; Pescado Tacos, tilapia served with lettuce and garlic seasoning; and lastly Pescado con Mango Taco, tilapia served with mango, jalapeno, green & red pepper, and avocado. All tacos are handmade-to-order on 100% gluten-free corn tortillas, with the option to make any of the tacos into quesadillas for $2 more. Brunch tacos and quesadillas are available daily until 4pm.

Patrons can choose from a variety of items by viewing Lanea’s full menu here. Guests can also enjoy the “Fiesta Meal-Packs” such as the Picnic Pack which comes with six tacos of your choice, chips and pico de gallo, two handmade cocktails, and a Mexican-themed blanket, all for just $45. Summer menu additions include the Third Street Sling made with Hibiscus Patron Tequila, fresh lemon, passionfruit, pineapple, or the Jungle Bird Scooter with Vida Mezcal, fresh lemon, ginger, Campari. For $9, they can sip on a variety of signature canned cocktails such as the Paloma made with The Chainsmokers’ JAJA Tequila containing grapefruit tonic and Aperol, or the Margarita with Cazadores tequila, fresh lime, demerara, orange liqueur. Lanea is also offering to-go bottles and flasks of a limited edition, rotating selection of craft beverages with bottle art created by local artist, Ryan Gilden.

Ravel Hotel Opens

The trendy, modern Ravel Hotel has opened its outdoor dining spaces for summer 2020, including its brand new Greek Garden Rooftop restaurant, Perivóli, and iconic rooftop pool, Profundo, adhering to COVID-19 sanitation guidelines and at 50% capacity.

This summer, Ravel will be partnering with Vestibular Diagnostics PA (based in Rochelle Park, NJ) to provide private COVID-19 testing for all guests with a reservation, creating a safe haven for families and friends. Before entering all outdoor dining spaces, all guests must comply with test-taking, and test negative before they will be allowed in the area. Testing center is open 7 days a week. The Ravel Hotel is the only hospitality company in NYC that is providing COVID-19 testing for all staff and guests.

A brand new concept launching this summer, the Greek-inspired garden rooftop will transport New Yorkers and guests to the Greek Islands with fresh Mediterranean cuisine from Executive Chef Seth Levine. Dishes like Grilled Octopus and Branzino will be available ala carte in the garden, and small bites, refreshing summer cocktails, and more will be available poolside at Perivóli’s adjacent luxury rooftop pool, Profundo. Perivóli will also be providing disposable menus with QR codes for safe and reduced contact services.

Luxury pool lounge (adjacent to Perivóli) where guests can explore an aquatic sanctuary in the heart of Long Island City featuring custom cocktails, premium poolside food, floating mirror globes, and poolside DJ’s day and night. Tiwa Savage – “Dangerous Love”

Nigerian-born singer, songwriter, and fashion icon TIWA SAVAGE – widely regarded as the ‘Queen of Afrobeats’ – releases her brand new single, “Dangerous Love,” via Motown Records. The song is the first official single taken from her long-awaited fourth studio album ‘CELIA’, aptly named after her mother. Listen to “Dangerous Love” HERE.

Produced by Cracker Mallo and recorded in Tiwa’s home city of Lagos, Nigeria, “Dangerous Love” is the perfect blend of R&B and Afrobeats. With a powerful, enchanting chorus and silky ‘afro’ beat throughout, the mid-tempo record is a representation of Tiwa’s musical growth and preview to her upcoming project.

“Dangerous Love is such a vibe! It’s a song that is basically about a girl who is dipping in and out of a ‘relationship’ with a guy that really doesn’t deserve her time or attention. She knows that he is bad for her but she gambling with her heart anyway,” says Tiwa Savage. “I feel like every girl and maybe guys too can relate to this one.”

Savage’s fearlessness in combining various genres has paid off, earning her abundance of award wins and recognitions. In 2018 she made history by becoming the first female to win the MTV European Award for ‘Best African Act’. She has since earned four Channel O Music Video Awards nominations, five World Music Award nominations, MTV Africa Music, BET & MOBO Award nominations and many more.

In 2019 she signed an exclusive recording contract with Universal Records and in September released her first global single titled ’49-99’ under Motown Records. In May, 2020, Tiwa Savage graced the cover of Billboard Magazine’s first issue devoted entirely to Africa alongside Afrobeat superstars Davido and Mr Eazi.

Tiwa was born in Lagos, Nigeria, where she lived until the age of 11 when her parents decided to move to London. In her early days, like most families, she would attend church with her parents and soon developed a love for performing and relocated to London. At the age of 16, Tiwa found herself singing backing vocals for George Michael. As a result of that session, Tiwa quickly found further work over the years with the likes of Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Emma Bunton and Blu Cantrell.

Despite having already completed a degree in Business Administration at the University of Kent, she was focused to continue pursuing music and received a scholarship at the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. With her newfound strength to push forward with music, Tiwa moved from London to New York City and began taking meetings with various producers and industry professionals. Inspired and stimulated by the lack of true female superstars in her home country, she moved back to Nigeria.

Savage has also been active in her philanthropic endeavors, supporting various youth engagement organizations and breast cancer screening projects across Nigeria and further afield. Tiwa also is very active in #JusticeForUwa, loudly voicing her disgust at the rape of a young girl in a church in Nigeria, and creating an Instagram page @WeAreTiredNg where rape victims can speak out.

Summer Walker EP

After capturing everyone’s attention during the BET Awards with her show-stopping performance and 2 nominations, Summer Walker (LVRN/Interscope Records) teased a new EP titled Life On Earth. The results of this report draw from member reviews on over 592,000 kitchen and laundry appliances purchased between 2009 and 2019. Using information on how many times each member’s appliance broke or performed sub-optimally, CR estimates how well you can rely on each appliance for its first five years in your home. This report allows you to compare the average ratings of different brands, products, and models. It’s important to remember, however, that reliability is only one factor of how a product will serve you, and that CR’s full ratings will help give you a comprehensive picture of individual models.

Each week will bring a new video for a song off the project tied with a charitable component important to Leven. The video will be followed by a “HIGHTEA” episode on Leven’s Instagram channel where he breaks down the video and directs his fans to more information on the charity connected and where to donate.
