Land Rover North America has today announced its newest marketing campaign to introduce the new 2018 Range Rover Velar in North America. The fourth member of the Range Rover family, the Range Rover Velar is a mid-size luxury SUV that delivers new levels of refinement, elegance and technology to the segment.

 
The marketing campaign features strategic media partnerships with The Wall Street Journal, Cool Hunting and Robb Report, which aligns with the Range Rover Velar vehicle’s target audience’s passion points, such as technology, design, style and business. In addition, Land Rover has partnered with Condé Nast for an integrated partnership that will forge an authentic connection between the Range Rover Velar and the publisher’s audience. Architectural Digest, GQ, WIRED and Vogue will create custom content highlighting the Range Rover Velar and the design trends that influenced the vehicle.

 
As part of the Condé Nast partnership, the Range Rover Velar will also be integrated into the 18th annual New Yorker Festival, October 6–8. The Range Rover Velar will be on display throughout the festival weekend at the Land Rover Theatre at SIR Stage37 and incorporated into video content which will be shared across The New Yorker digital channels.

Additional elements aim to bring mass reach to the campaign, including a placement on the CHASE Times Square Digital Board and mobile ad placements through Verve, a technology that uses first party location data to precisely target custom audiences.

September 2, 2017 – Day 2 at the third annual year of Breakaway Music Festival, Columbus, OH. What seemed to be a rainy day, did not stop the thousands who entered MAPFRE Stadium, home of the Columbus Crew. Saturday’s schedule included a Main Stage, a Prime Stage, and a Silent Disco to wrap up a festival filled with color, music, and Buckeye pride.

Breakaway Fest introduced some the hottest new DJ’s/acts as well as top performers. Acts included: Two Friends, Mija, Goldlink, Cashmere Cat, CVBS, Playboi Carti, Kodak Black, Galantis, Diplo and more.

One of the events I am most proud of occurring at Nous Tous happened just over a week ago. Femme Salon reading series launched on August 26th to a crowd that completely packed the space and it was an amazing event. It was a celebration and safe space for femme voices that are all too often silenced and spoken for. I am super proud of the success of the event and really grateful that Nous Tous has become the kind of space that can harbor this kind of event. 

Unfortunately, the producer of the event is facing some financial hardship and instead of simply donating myself (which I did) I thought this might be a great opportunity for a few members of our community to help also. Jade is a working artist transwoman of color and any creative can attest to the fact that gigs are not always stead, so funds do not always appear with good timing.

She is is about $200 bucks short of rent, and that means that 10 people donating $20 dollars should help plenty. I know this is the type of audience that appreciates art and the emotional labor that comes with it. On this Labor Day I would love to encourage you to support, Jade, her daughter, and her work. The Diana Award

The Diana Award launches Anti-Bullying Campaign #Back2School and reveals new bullying survey statistics

This September sees over 10 million children going back to school, with many feeling anxious about being bullied. To kick-off the month’s #Back2School campaign, The Diana Award Anti-Bullying Campaign is encouraging everyone to get involved across social media channels by posting/sharing a picture of them back at school with their advice and if they choose to, text a donation to support the training of young Anti-Bullying Ambassadors in every school.  
A new survey, released today, of over 2,000 adults and 500 young people about their experiences of bullying in school, conducted by YouGov for The Diana Award, reveals:

  • Almost half (47%) of GB adults say they were bullied at school
  • 64% of young people, 8-15yrs, say at least one of their friends has been bullied at school
  • Nearly a quarter, 24% of 15 year olds say their friends are worried about going back to school due to bullying
  • 34% of GB adults and 31% of young people say that Anti-Bullying Ambassadors would have reduced bullying in their schools

As well as reliving their personal experiences of being bullied, celebrities will give their advice and raise awareness of the need for Anti-Bullying Ambassadors in every school. The Diana Award is also providing #Back2School advice and support online and through their social media channels.

World heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua met the Bungie development team for an early look at Destiny 2. One of the most successful new gaming franchises of all time upon release, and BAFTA award winner, Destiny; is a first-person action game that takes the player on an epic journey to defend humanity from annihilation.

AJ channelled his inner Titan whilst challenging gamers on consoles throughout the convention after linking up with project lead, Mark Noseworthy, for an informal back and forth on the game. AJ reminisced about his personal gaming experiences and about how they compliment his training regime. Alongside some soundbites about his prediction on the Golovkin vs Canelo fight.

In the story of Destiny 2, the last safe city on Earth has fallen and lies in ruins, occupied by a powerful new enemy, Lord Ghaul, and his elite army, the Red Legion. Exfoliants I’ve used in the past have either been like sandpaper, or the opposite, where I can barely feel any results. This is just right. It doesn’t feel too rough, but you can tell it’s getting rid of that dead layer of skin. Smells good too!


Step 02: Dual Cleanse & Shave

I’m a minimalist, so I love anything that does double duty like this. It’s a thicker cream, so it takes getting used to when using it as a cleanser. But it’s great to be able to wash your face and then shave at the same time!


Step 03: Oil Free Moisturizer

This is also pretty thick, and you can see the coverage before it blends into the skin, which is great to know your whole face is protected. After it absorbed into my skin, my face felt soft and seemed to be glowing. In fact, after I did this video, someone came to the door, and they commented how refreshed I looked!

September 5th Houston, TX House of Blues Show Is On As Planned!

After the devastating storm that struck Texas, SWITCHFOOT and LIFEHOUSE wanted to do something together to give back and wrote a brand new song titled, “Shine Like Gold,” which exclusively premiered on People.com. All proceeds from “Shine Like Gold” will be donated to aid Houston’s recovery in partnership with Food for the Hungry. SWITCHFOOT and LIFEHOUSE are currently touring with each other for the first time ever on the “Looking For Summer” Tour. The bands will collectively be performing the song together at the September 5th House of Blues show in Houston, Texas.

 

On the new song and upcoming Houston show, Jon Foreman shares: “Jason and I had always talked about writing a song together. When it finally happened, ‘Shine Like Gold’ became a song about everyday heroes fighting their way through the darkness toward the light. On the day we recorded the song, Hurricane Harvey began wreaking havoc in Texas. Sometimes you don’t know what a song is for until after its written. In this case it became crystal clear. As we watched our friends and family in Texas struggle through the aftermath of the hurricane, we knew exactly what we had to do. We LOVE Houston. Houston is resilient and will rebuild. We’re honored to be in Houston next Tuesday to bring hope and healing the best way we know how.”

On “Shine Like Gold” and the upcoming Houston show, LIFEHOUSE’s Jason Wade said: “We can’t imagine what everyone is going through right now in Houston, but they’ve all been in our thoughts and prayers. We look forward to playing this show, standing alongside this amazing city and doing everything in our power to help. Jon and I started writing “Shine Like Gold” at the beginning of this tour, but it wasn’t until we recorded it in Nashville that we really knew what it was about.
