New York City Fashion Designer Terry Singh shows at NYFW announced via 360 MAGAZINE

GURU: TERRY SINGH

Terry Singh exhibited his gender-neutral SS23 collection during NYFW at Daylight Studio on Friday, September 9.

Vaughn Lowery has taken Singh to heart in a two-part series on 360 MAG Amazon | Google | Spotify | Apple podcast. They have a meticulous discussion about the new world order and how it will redefine gender norms.

Native New Yorker, Terry Singh, is reshaping the way the world views masculinity, diminishing society’s view of how a man should look.

After a six-month tour of India as a Yogi, Singh had a revelation. During a morning ritual at the summit of a mountain, his swami changed forever his male state of mind while bathing him while the sun kissed his skin.

After his spiritual journey, Singh defied his Western imposition of love, giving birth to his eponymous mark. He was inspired to recreate this sense of release through a dhoti, an ancient garment worn by leaders and warriors. “I was inspired by the freedom to wear a dhoti because it flows and it also somehow brought me to this space,” the cultural curator said.

In addition, Terry explains that nature is the essential motivation for his capsule. ‘‘I would say that we are always evolving and changing tomorrow, you can watch a documentary, you notice something in nature, and you feel something, and that feeling that comes to you is so intrinsic that it only needs you,’’ states Terry.

Upon his return to New York, he received a new direction: reintroduce the perspective of men’s clothing. This deep movement enabled Singh to proudly wear his dhoti alias the NYC wrap. His vision was to impact world culture. According to the designer, dhoti is a reflection of his transforming experience and the way we enter into ourselves over a period of time.

Terry Singh, a father of four, identified his suits as his signature, pairing them with his elegant salt and pepper hairstyle. While designing the pieces, Singh constantly ensures that he preserves a certain masculinity in the room. Instead of wearing a belt, he added adjustable buttons to the waist strap.

No doubt, Terry Singh, alongside other progressives like Pyer Moss and Telfar break down the barriers in fashion. Lowery continues, “You are saving lives.” After all, the statement of classy masculine figurines on a stage like NYFW will encourage others to do the same, creating a domino effect. And, perhaps put an end to the intimidation which Jaden Smith, Harry Styles and Machine Gun Kelly continually encounter in the mass media rocking skirts.

In the very near future, Terry Singh expects men of all ages to reach for his suit of armor instead of a traditional tuxedo.

Listen PT2 of Singh on 360 MAG.

Machine Gun Kelly stars in Dolce&Gabbana casa home goods campaign via 360 MAGAZINE

MGK DG Casa

The Dolce&Gabbana Casa Collection is presented through a series of images that combine a classic aesthetic and a contemporary sensibility. The first Advertising Campaign of the new line dedicated to the art of home living transports the viewer into a dreamlike dimension where the objects of our everyday life meet inspiration and become pieces of unique design and creativity. The Blu Mediterraneo, Carretto Siciliano, Leopard and Zebra themes dominate the scene with their iconic patterns and references to Dolce&Gabbana’s most authentic DNA.

The photographs, shot by the duo Mert&Marcus, recall the traditional imagery of the Renaissance artistic nudes, while alluding to the aesthetic of the Dolce&Gabbana 2000s campaigns. The models’ silhouettes delicately blend with their surrounding, bringing out the Collection’s uniqueness. The campaign’s pictorial style draws the spectator into the oneiric and artistic world of Dolce&Gabbana’s furnishing creations.

In the campaign’s video contributions, the poetic aspect is further emphasised by the words of a love letter: Dolce&Gabbana Casa thus becomes the ideal space in which emotions and sensations find expression through the creativity of special objects. The collection showcases Machine Gun Kelly at the forefront. Demonstrating MGK in a new light, he is undoubtedly a key player in the campaign images that display a surplus of body types.

JOHN K – A LOT

The RIAA-certified platinum pop singer/songwriter John K celebrated the new year by releasing his hot new single, “A LOT.” Listen to the song HERE via Epic Records and watch the music video HERE.

The track produced by WYNNE [MGK, Jaden Smith] was created and written in collaboration by John and songwriter Steph Jones. Steph, too, co-wrote John’s critically acclaimed single, “if we never met.” Throughout his new single, “A LOT,” John seemingly sings out to an ex-lover while guitar riff blends in the background. John references his ex directly, pondering, “Do you ever wear my sweatshirt when it’s colder?” As the chorus sets off, John declares, “I think about you a lot.”

John spoke about the single and its meaning, stating, “I never realized how often I say the word ‘a lot’ until I wrote this song. The story is about that feeling when you can’t get someone out of your head, except for now that person is out of the picture. It’s about replaying memories over and over, thinking about the person you wish you never lost. A simple concept really, but I felt like it was one my fans would relate to right away. You ever mess something up so bad and then all you have left is the memory of how good it used to be? That’s A LOT.”

The music video was directed by Erik Rojas [Jessie J, Dillon Francis] and illustrates the lyrics that John sings to a tee. Throughout the video, the camera cuts to reminiscent times shared between lovers to scenes of John alone at the bar.

John joins Marc E. Bassy on his North American winter tour. The tour is set to begin on February 14 at the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis, MN, continuing through many top locations throughout the country, concluding March 12 in San Diego, CA at Observatory North Park. The full list of tour dates will be below, and you can visit www.ticketmaster.com to snatch up tickets.

WWE x Rolling Loud image provided by Ivy Awino for use by 360 MAGAZINE.

Rolling Loud x WWE

Call it the ultimate mashup.

The newly announced partnership between Rolling Loud and WWE will see hip-hop’s biggest names performing alongside WWE SmackDown wrestling. This partnership is the first of its kind. No other time in history has seen a collaboration between wrestling and a large-scale music festival.

This is how it’s basically going to go down. On July 23, SmackDown will feature a split FOX broadcast with two matches being held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami (same venue as Rolling Loud) while the rest are at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland.

I’m honestly extremely intrigued by the thought of A$AP ROCKY, Travis Scott, and Post Malone performing in between or alongside a LIVE wrestling match. With that caliber of a lineup, concert-deprived fans, and throw in some of the world’s most entertaining wrestlers? The energy all around is bound to be ELECTRIFYING.

So what does this mean for the future of collaborations between live music and sporting events?

I think the opportunities are endless. But before I go any further, I should clarify that while I am an enthusiast of the virtual space – I don’t foresee in-person gatherings becoming null and void, ever. There’s just something that comes with having human energy together collectively in one space. Let’s explore a few of my ideas.

Most sporting venues also double as concert venues. Could this be the beginning of seeing mega venues that could concurrently host a live music and sporting event? I see this being easily achieved even more specifically in the world of e-sports.

Or even take for example the current format of sporting events. In some capacity, small-scope performances already take place during sporting events i.e. halftime, national anthem singers, etc. Might we start to see longer pre or post-game concerts? To reference a basketball analogy, a 2 for 1? Will we see tours scheduled around team calendars? A league that is primed to do this would be Ice Cube’s Big 3.

Not all people who go to live music and sporting events go to actually listen to music or watch the game. They go to socialize and network. They may possibly have been enticed by promotions or a giveaway. They may simply want to make an impression or maybe they are big fans of an artist or team after all. No matter the circumstance, I think the ultimate draw to such collaborative efforts is the fusion of audiences and the power of sport and music to unite.

As told on WWE.com, “WWE has a rich history of integrating music into all aspects of its brand and collaborating with some of the most celebrated artists in the world. Over the years, world-renowned hip-hop artists including Snoop Dogg, Diddy, Three 6 Mafia, MGK, Wale, and many others have performed at WWE’s biggest events.”

I know that I have a bias but music has always played a very important role in sports and vice versa. I think it was Drake that said “Damn, I swear sports and music are so synonymous. ‘Cause, we want to be them, and they want to be us.”LOL!

I will definitely be tuned in on the 23 to see how this looks like in actuality. I am also eager to see the continuation in the development of how to further collaborate across the music and sports landscapes from the live production and programming standpoint.
