Theft of Picassos revives art-world’s Bouvier Affair

Yves Bouvier’s legal woes just won’t end. In November 2024, a Paris appeals court ruled that the Swiss art dealer must stand trial over the disappearance of 58 Picassos from a storage unit that he rented to Picasso’s stepdaughter, Catherine Hutin-Blay. This ruling adds yet another chapter to what has become known as “the Bouvier Affair”, a saga that exposed some shadowy corners of the art world.

Art dealer Yves Bouvier made his fortune by helping collectors purchase rare and expensive works of art.  Between 2002 and 2014, Bouvier aided Russian billionaire/oligarch Dmitry Rybolovlev in acquiring 38 masterpieces – from the likes of Chagall, Rothko, and da Vinci.

But trust ultimately turned to suspicion, and the Bouvier/Rybolovlev relationship… [read or listen to the rest of the piece here

BVLGARI HOTEL SHANGHAI ITALIAN GLAMOUR

INTEGRATION OF ITALIAN STYLE AND CONTEMPORARY GLAMOUR

The Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai is located on the banks of Suhe Creek with a rich historical and cultural background. It has a delicate balance of pleasant natural landscapes, contemporary design, and classic historical architecture. The historic building, the former Chamber of Commerce Shanghai, has been renovated and integrated with the Bvlgari tower, which is surrounded by abundant natural scenery, to form Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai.

The Former Chamber of Commerce Shanghai

Balancing nature, contemporary design and heritage architecture, the property combines a 48-floor tower, a majestically restored Chamber of Commerce Shanghai building dating from 1916 and lush gardens which surround the whole area. The hotel occupies the top 8 floors of the Tower offering stunning views of the iconic Bund, the sky towers of Pudong’s financial district and the dramatic curvature of Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek. The lower floors are occupied by The Bvlgari Residences. As they did for the other Bvlgari properties, the renowned Italian architectural firm ‘ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel,’ signed this hotel’s design and created a glamorous contemporary masterpiece blending the distinctive Italian refinement of Bvlgari with rich layers of Shanghai history.

Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai

Adjacent to the hotel tower, the historic former Chamber of Commerce Shanghai, built in 1916 and completely restored to evoke memories of its glorious past, houses a glamorous 500 square meter Bvlgari Ballroom with double-height ceilings, the haute-cuisine Chinese restaurant Bao Li Xuan and The Whisky Bar.

Bao Li Xuan Chinese Restaurant

Bao Li Xuan serves exquisite Cantonese classics and local Shanghainese specialties, while the sophisticated Whisky Bar located on the same floor presents an extensive collection of premium whiskies and spirits to be tasted in a warm and distiguished athmosphere akin to a member’s club. Built in Neoclassical Renaissance style, the statuesque landmark forms a serendipitous connection to Bvlgari’s Roman roots and pairs up with a beautiful archway gate from 1920, used as VIPs entrance.

Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai is home to six signature-dining options located both in the hotel tower and in the adjacent historic former Chamber of Commerce Shanghai. The Italian Il Ristorante-Niko Romito is curated by chef Niko Romito, one of the world’s most celebrated chefs with three Michelin stars for his Reale restaurant in Abruzzo and presents a carefully curated canon of contemporary Italian cooking in a seductive 47th floor restaurant overlooking the city lights. At the same floor, The Bvlgari Bar with its iconic oval counter is the place to be for sophisticated sipping and socialising, while the

La Terrazza on the rooftop offers an Italian style informal menu with spellbinding views of Shanghai’s skyline.

Il Ristorante – Niko Romito

On the ground floor, China’s first Bvlgari chocolate boutique Bvlgari Dolci invites guests to indulge in a luxury sweet treat while the refined ambiance of the Lobby Lounge, where a menu of afternoon tea and aperitivo is available, opens up to Bvlgari Dolci, an enchanting outdoor space which welcomes guests with a selection of wines and Italian gelato. Also on the ground floor, a Bvlgari jewellery store displays the brand’s finest creations.

Enjoying an exclusive setting amid private gardens, historic buildings and art galleries, the hotel is just three minutes’ drive from the iconic Bund. The chic fashion boutiques of Nanjing Road, known as ‘Shanghai’s Fifth Avenue,’ and the famous museums and theatres of People’s Square are just minutes away.

La Terrazza

The hotel’s 82 exquisitely crafted guestrooms, including 19 suites which crown the top eight floors of the 48-floor tower, have an average size of over 60 square meters, among the most spacious in the city. Guests experience the exceptional comfort of modern Italian furnishings custom-made by revered Italian brands such as Maxalto, Flos and Flexform, along with state-of-the-art technology which creates a warm residential ambience. Accessed via a private lift, the exceptional 400 square meter Bvlgari Suite offers sweeping views of the Shanghai cityscape and can be extended to create a 570 square meter three-bedroom residence by connecting it with an adjoining suite.

The Bvlgari Spa

The hotel’s 2,000-square-meter The Bvlgari Spa and fitness center is a harmonious retreat to balance the body, mind, and spirit in elegant Italian style. The Bvlgari Spa offers eight spa treatment rooms, sauna and relaxation rooms, and a 25-meter heated indoor pool and vitality pools.

About Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts

Unique locations in harmony with the surrounding areas, the blend of traditional design with dramatic contemporary Italian architecture by the architectural firm ACPV Architects Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and superior service crafted with the same attention to quality that has always distinguished Bvlgari creations. These are the key elements that characterize the Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts collection.

For all the hotels, the approach is the same: the design of the interiors is strongly rooted in the traditions of the place, and careful attention is paid to every detail in a tribute to absolute luxury.

The Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts collection features the distinctive, bold Italian style typical of Bvlgari, reflected in its unique design, its contemporary Italian cuisine, and its lavish spas. It conveys the excitement of the Bvlgari brand, its timeless glamour, and its magnificent Italian jewelry heritage.

“Unzipped” – the first great American fashion documentary that launched an entire subgenre – will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a one-night premiere at Sundance Film Festival, January 28 at the Egyptian Theatre. In “Unzipped,” Director Douglas Keeve goes behind the scenes of designer Isaac Mizrahi’s relentless drive and bold vision to bring his 1994 collection to life. From sketches to runway, this insider’s journey is packed with backstage drama, creative triumphs, and iconic supermodels, including Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and Linda Evangelista.

Director Douglas Keeve established a formula when he chose to follow a breakout designer rushing to create a new collection to launch at Fashion Week. Keeve weaves together a dizzying collection of go-sees, fittings, photoshoots, and fashion shows, riding the whirlwind of Isaac Mizrahi’s work life. Editor Paula Heredia’s rapid-fire style darts between passing moments of glamour, only occasionally slowing down to relish time backstage with icons like Naomi Campbell and Cindy Crawford. The most exciting new UK artist LeoStayTrill is back with his first single, “Selena" via 360 MAGAZINE.

LeoStayTrill – Selena

The most exciting new UK artist LeoStayTrill is back with his first single of the new year titled “Selena” which finds him dishing out bars over a hardhitting drill production. The song was first teased on TikTok on New Year’s Eve, and fans have been loving every minute of it. Since the tease last month, Leo’s “Selena” has helped the rapper garner 11 million views, 1.5 million likes, and 100,000 new followers across all profiles. In addition, fans have left 85,000 comments and created over 3,000 videos to “Selena.”

The song has also given birth to a new viral dance trend that Leo has been doing alongside his friends in various TikTok videos. The dance has been picking up steam with fans creating their own videos and dancing to the infectious new track. “Selena” comes after Leo released “2s N 3s” last November to close out a productive 2024. “2s N 3s” showcases Leo’s multilayered flow and his signature creative flair over a song that samples Clean Bandit’s 2014 hit record “Rather Be.”

Leo has been busy crafting his artistry with also still being in college and fans got to see that live when he took the stage for his first ever sold-out headline show at The Camden Assembly, where he performed an electrifying show and brought along guests such as ArrDee and Tion Wayne. People have been tuning into Leo and his music for the last several months as his Instagram and TikTok follower count has crossed over 1.1 million and he recently tore down the house as a supporting act for Asake’s show at the O2 Arena in September.

Boasting millions of monthly listeners on Spotify, 2M+ TikTok video creations, 35M likes on TikTok and over 60M streams on Spotify alone and over a 100M streams to date before 18 years old. In only a year, Leo has crashed onto the scene in a spectacular fashion. Tracks such as “Jimi Hendrix,” “Honeybun,” “Pink Lemonade,” “Cardi,” “Demure,” and “Lost in Sardinia” show that Leo is keeping his foot firmly pressed on the gas as he continues to rise up the rap music ranks.

More on LeoStayTrill here:

Born to Zimbabwean parents and raised in South London, at first his parents didn’t quite get it. But after seeing him performing to huge crowds while still in primary school, it wasn’t long before they understood he was a natural. “Now they’re fully on board,” he smiles.

Leo taught himself how to produce and started collaborating and creating music as soon as he could. It was his symbiotic collaboration with producer Xeretto since 2019 (when they were 12 or 13) that he credits with bringing his trademark sonics to life in a new way. ‘Honeybun’ came from that and then ‘Pink Lemonade’ as well, so I don’t feel like I need to go elsewhere to get something that we created.” Understandably so, when the recipe has already proved so successful. Coining a contagious blend of UK rap’s best bits, his sound has set him apart from the pack on the international stage already. Pairing the fast-paced percussive vocal delivery of drill with the earworm lightness of afro swing melodies. The innate rhythmic flair of African melodies and the effortless charisma and lingua franca of London’s cultural melting pot.

Teddy Swims + GIVĒON

Grammy-nominated breakout superstar Teddy Swims has teamed up with acclaimed Grammy-nominated R&B artist GIVĒON for a new single, “Are You Even Real,” out now via Warner Records. Listen HERE and watch the video HERE

The track gives another taste of Swims’ highly anticipated new album I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2), arriving January 24. Pre-order/pre-save HERE. In addition to GIVĒON, the album features collaborations with Muni Long, Coco Jones and GloRilla. It follows the massive success of Part 1, which included his global multi-platinum hits “Lose Control” and “The Door.”

About the making of “Are You Even Real,” both artists share:

“I’m in love with a perfect woman and I am so lucky that sometimes it feels too good to be true!” says Swims. “I’m so grateful to have my dear friend GIVĒON on ‘Are You Even Real’ with me! He is a once in a generation talent, I’m trying to get this man to do a whole record with me!”

“This song came together in such a natural way and it shows,” GIVĒON explains. “The music, the lyrics, Teddy, and myself. It’s one that makes you replay it over and over. Excited to finally share it with the world.”

This track arrives on the heels of Swims’ recent collaborations “Georgia Ways” with Quavo and Luke Bryan and “Somethin’ Bout A Woman” with Thomas Rhett. It also follows the first taste fans received of I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2) — “Bad Dreams,” the lead single from Part 2, which is currently climbing the charts after debuting on the Billboard Hot 100.

2024 was a record year for Swims, who celebrated the success of his multi-platinum chart-conquering hits “Lose Control” and “The Door” from his debut album, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1). Swims’ breakout single “Lose Control” catapulted his success to new heights, claiming the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and becoming the second-longest running Hot 100 Top 10 song of all time. The track has amassed over 3 billion global streams, reached #1 on five radio formats (Top 40, Hot AC, AC, R&B, and Rhythm), and was inducted into Spotify’s “Billions Club.”

The success earned him a 2025 Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist, as well as a performance at the 2024 MTV VMAs, where he received three nominations, and the 2024 Billboard Music Awards, where he received eight nominations and won two awards: Top Hot 100 Song and Top Radio Song of 2024. His impact has soared across the globe—in 2024 we saw him perform at the MTV EMAs and NRJ Awards, as well as the Los40 Awards, where he took home two trophies: Best International Artist and Best International Album of the Year.

Putting in real work for years, a quiet, yet steady grind brought Swims to the forefront of popular culture as a tried-and-true star without comparison. Teddy started to gain notoriety after posting covers online in 2019 — such as Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You” and Shania Twain’s “You’re Still The One” — gaining hundreds of millions of views, leading to his signing to Warner Records in 2020. He tirelessly honed his voice and songwriting across EPs such as Unlearning [2021], Tough Love [2022], and Sleep Is Exhausting [2022]. He showcased his sky-high range by collaborating with artists such as Thomas Rhett, Maren Morris, Meghan Trainor, X Ambassadors, ILLENIUM, Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, and b. He made a statement with I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1) in 2023, and wrapped up a prolific run by releasing a Live Version of the album alongside his band Freak Freely at the top of 2024.

Swims shows no signs of slowing down as he jumpstarts a record-breaking 2025, with the release of I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2) and his biggest global headline tour to date—including performances at Lollapalooza in Chile, Argentina and Brazil—on the horizon.
