pineappleCITI- “Dance”

Rising hip-hop artist pineappleCITI returns with visuals to her single “Dance,” out today. Flipping the script on Dancing with The Stars, CITI’s latest video offers a clever play on the popular dance competition, adding a unique and comedic hip-hop flair. Featuring slick lyricism alongside an upbeat tempo, “Dance” blends melodic rhythms with Latin-influenced guitar and percussions, making an irresistible track that lives up to its name.

One of TIDAL’s Rising Hip-Hop cover artists this year and featured on NBA2K20, NBA2K21, and Netflix’s Sneakerheads, pineappleCITI is equal parts rapper, singer, and acclaimed songwriter. Named one of Okayplayer’s 25 Underrated Female Rappers, she has penned works for Twista and Kelly Rowland. In the same year, she celebrated the release of her viral hit “Rose Colored” and suffered a near-fatal car crash, causing her to learn how to walk again over the course of two years.

With a focus on songs that feature motivational lyricism and powerful messages, she has released a number of recent singles, including “Recognize,” “Believe,” and “Lift Me Up,” the latter of which was dedicated to the Black Lives Matter movement and victims of police brutality.

For pineappleCITI, rhymes and raps spring right from the heart as she approaches each song, project, album, and show with equal reverence for nineties East Coast storytelling and old-school Motown catharsis. Endorsed early on by The FADER, PAPER, Complex, and Billboard and streamed over 2 million times as of 2019, the New Jersey-born MC provides a simultaneously unique and universal perspective to her music.

OUT CELEBRATES ANNUAL OUT100 ISSUE

Pride Media’s Out magazine is thrilled to release the 2020 Out100 presented by Lexus. The list remains the largest annual portfolio recognizing members of the LGBTQ+ for their ground-breaking, ripple-inducing, and culture-shifting impact nationwide.

The coveted and anticipated Out100 issue features four covers including trailblazing actor Wilson Cruz, activist and BLM organizer Janaya Khan,  actor and director Joe Mantello, and artist and icon Janelle Monáe.

This year’s honorees make up one of the most diverse lists in Out magazine’s history, spanning several generations and a multitude of intersections. From 18-year-old rap sensation Kidd Kenn and 99-year old trans WWII U.S. Navy fighter pilot Robina Asti to MSNBC journalist Rachel Maddow, who in a year of political tension was a voice of reason for the LGBTQ+ community.

From fashion legend André Leon Talley, headlining musician Lizzo, comedian Wanda Sykes, actors Jeremy Pope and Cheyenne Jackson to modeling industry heavyweight Ivan Bart, the creators of Queer Eye, and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s very queer team Jamal Brown, Reggie Greer, and Karine Jean-Pierre, inclusivity and progress are the driving force behind this year’s list.

Each honoree represents not just the past but also the future. Leading into 2021, the LGBTQ+ community as a whole will undoubtedly reap the benefits of their accomplishments. This year might have brought an onslaught of challenges, but it also welcomed new opportunities to reflect on what matters to the LGBTQ+ community and what lies ahead in the fight for equality and justice.

Now more than ever, it’s vital to recognize the powerful voices leading the charge and sounding off the new vanguard of queer leaders. In a year of Pride celebrated at home instead of in the streets, community support from company partners like Lexus, Citi, Gilead, McDonald’s USA, Truly Hard Seltzer, and Stoli® Group USA, LLC has never been more important or helpful in amplifying these powerful Out100 voices moving the LGBTQ+ community forward.

“Community building has been the bedrock of the LGBTQ+ rights movement, and part of that is understanding the fact that we are not and have never been monolithic. All of us have a story and role to play in this fight. All of our experiences and lived realities are different, special, and integral in building a better world — together,” said Editor in Chief of Out, David Artavia.

“The Out100 list is a representation of this journey. For 26 years, it has stood the test of time and continues to empower the next generation of LGBTQ+ thought leaders, artists, and professionals to create a more inclusive future for all of us,” continued Artavia.

This year, Out’s nationally recognized and respected Out100 issue extends beyond the brand’s print and online properties with two exciting virtual events. On Friday, November 20, the co-founder of Black Lives Matter Canada, Janaya Khan, will moderate a dynamic “How Do We Come Back From This?” symposium on what moving out of the last four years looks like for culture, politics, the movement, and ourselves, including Emmy-winning creator of Transparent Joey Soloway, trans activist Ashlee Marie Preston, and PR strategist Kelly Bush Novak.

On Saturday, November 21, the Out100 culminates in the first-ever 2020 Out100 Virtual Honoree Induction Ceremony, live at 5 p.m. Pacific (8 p.m. Eastern) at Out.com/Out100Live, and available on all Revry live channels and on-demand at 6 p.m. Pacific (9 p.m. Eastern) at watch.revry.tv.

pineappleCITI New Acoustic Song

Rapper and songwriter pineappleCITI releases acoustic version of her song “Lift Me Up”

pineappleCITI is back with an acoustic rendition of her latest single “Lift Me Up,” out now via Red Bull Records. Teased to fans on Juneteenth with the release of its timely music video, the stripped-down version of the R&B anthem demonstrates pineappleCITI’s artistic versatility and strives to uplift listeners with its self-motivating lyrics. As with the original track, CITI reflects on her journey throughout her career.

The release also serves to provide positivity to all those who have been fighting for social justice. As pineappleCITI has been on the frontlines of the protests in her hometown of Newark, NJ, this message is especially personal.

“‘Lift Me Up’ authentically captures how I feel and how I think we all feel,” says CITI on her motivation behind the release. “This is an important time for us as a country to speak out and stand up for our rights but also to pay close attention to how all of this is affecting our mental health. We could all use a lift me up right now.”

Stream “Lift Me Up” here and watch the official video here.

Harvest Records To Release III

On July 12, Harvest Records will release BANKS‘ third album, titled simply, III. Today, Annie Mac debuted the track Look What You’re Doing To Me; ft. Francis and The Lights as the Hottest Record in the World on her BBC Radio 1 show. BANKS teamed up with co-producers BJ Burton (Bon Iver) and Francis and The Lights (the musical project of Francis Farewell Starline, who is also known for his collaborations with such artists as Kanye West and Chance the Rapper), to record the song. In addition to playing piano, Francis joins BANKS on vocals. Listen to Look What You’re Doing To Me HERE.
“Look What You’re Doing To Me is a song about love. About falling in love, being in love and how you feel when you’re high on love, says BANKS. Vibrant, scared, on fire, excited, and all the goodness in between.”
III is now available for pre-order HERE. Fans who pre-order the album in digital format will instantly receive Look What Youߣre Doing To Me; plus the single, Gimme, which has already amassed nearly 10 million streams and was hailed by TIME Magazine as a song You Need to Listen to. See below for the full track listing.
The III Tour will take BANKS across North America, the UK and Europe. The fan ticket presale for the North American leg begins today at 10:00 AM local time. The headline run will include a September 8 show at Brooklyn Steel in New York and an October 1 concert at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. See below for itinerary. Life has its extremes as documented on BANKS‘ Goddess and The Altar but there’s a lot to exalt in, in between, and that’s the story III tells. III is BANKS‘ most nuanced release yet, coming after a self-imposed period of quiet and reflection. This album is an ode to my journey, says BANKS. It documents a major growth spurt. Of self-acceptance, letting go, forgiveness, and deep love. It has been painful to realize that life is not black and white. Romanticism leads to fierce reality checks, which leads to wisdom, which leads to deeper empathy which leads to greater love. This album documents the cycle.
BANKS has amassed 1.2 billion global streams to date across all of her songs, including over 600 million cumulative streams in the U.S. alone. After the release of her breakout debut album, Goddess, she became the world’s most blogged about artist. The 2014 album included the RIAA-certified Platinum hit Beggin For Thread and the Gold single Waiting Game. The Altar, released in 2016, debuted in the Top 10 in over 30 countries on iTunes. BANKS has performed on such television shows as Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and Late Show with David Letterman. Her songs have been heard in films (Divergent, The Longest Ride) and licensed by such television shows as Grey’s Anatomy and Power.
