WHO/WHAT: On Wednesday, October 1st, the Miami Design District (MDD) will proudly kick off the 10th annual Fashion Strikes Cancerevent series, a month-long celebration dedicated to supporting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
As the preeminent breast cancer organization in the United States, BCRF’s mission serves to end breast cancer by advancing the world’s most promising research. Conceived by fashion visionary, stylist, and courageous breast cancer survivor, Angeles Almuna, Fashion Strikes Cancer was founded with a mission to offer solace and inspiration to those enduring, who have persevered, or who have sadly lost loved ones to breast cancer. This year’s events will honor Christine Handy.
Christine is an international print and runway model and the author of Walk Beside Me, a fictional depiction of her own life. She became a keynote speaker after the book was published in 2016 and is also a mentor, breast cancer advocate, public figure, social media influencer, nationally recognized humanitarian, and mother of two sons. Christine also proudly serves on the boards of three nonprofit organizations: People of Purpose, the Break Free Foundation, and the Wonder Women Initiative. Her first novel was adapted into a film, Hello Beautiful, set to be released this fall.
Throughout October, MDD will host a series of initiatives across the neighborhood in support of BCRF. The festivities begin on October 1st with a Pink Dome Lighting Ceremony featuring a special performance by Florida Grand Opera—the oldest arts institution in the state—presented in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month as part of its Wellness and Resilience Program. More than an artistic experience, this performance is a gift of healing and connection, harnessing the transformative power of the human voice to uplift, inspire, and unite communities in a shared message of hope and strength.
Additional events include the Annual Pink Yoga class on October 14th led by Angeles Almuna and Dawn Feinberg, founder of Ahana Yoga, with music by DJ Drez. The series of events culminates on October 25th with the Annual Fashion Presentation and Cocktail Reception in collaboration with a dynamic lineup of stylists and designers, including Danny Santiago, Juan Castillo, Lisu Vega, Sigal Cohen, and Valeria Krasavina.

Technology company and electric motorbike manufacturer Verge Motorcycles’ B2B unit Verge Next seeks to further the electrification of traffic and to assist the manufacturers of two-wheelers to create better and more innovative products. Licences for Verge’s seamless technology platform featuring ground-breaking technical solutions are now available worldwide. This is a combination of components and software on top of which a powerful electric moped or scooter can be built much faster and more cost-efficiently than what is currently possible.
“The Verge Next technology platform is the answer to the wishes of industry operators, but it is also a significant opportunity to move towards lower-emission mobility. We launched our Verge Next unit last spring, and we have already received dozens of contacts from businesses interested in using the devices and technology that we have developed. Indeed, partnerships have already been established with some operators, and some of our customers are telling us that they will incorporate our solutions into their upcoming models in the near future”, says Verge Motorcycles CEO and Verge Next unit lead Tuomo Lehtimäki.

The primary component of the Verge Next technology platform is the donut motor integrated into the wheel, which has garnered enormous interest among electric vehicle manufacturers and is now available for even smaller two-wheelers. 12-inch motors are available at various power ratings all the way from 2 kilowatts to 15 kilowatts, depending on the vehicle type. The maximum torque generated by the 12-inch donut motor varies between 80 and 350 newton-metres, depending on power. In addition to the motor, the platform includes a battery module for small vehicles developed by Verge, a software suite for controlling the system, and multi-functional, clear display screens.
Because all the components of the Verge Next technology platform are integrated for seamless interoperability, they form the perfect package. However, Verge Next components also work excellently as standalone components, and a manufacturer can easily incorporate a donut motor into a scooter built using traditional mechanisms.

All the details, from the exterior to the color, to the interior areas, recall and are inspired by Lamborghini’s DNA. Our Centro Stile, in operation for twenty years at Lamborghini’s historical headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, worked with the utmost care to ensure that every element was studied in meticulous detail and reflected the brand’s unmistakable style.”
From the technical perspective, the 101FT is equipped with three powerful MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, combined with three surface propellers, which make it possible to reach a top speed of 45 knots and a cruising speed of 35 knots. These performance figures are supported by a total output of 7.600 horsepower and two 35 kW generators, ensuring efficiency and reliability in every condition.
The Tecnomar for Lamborghini 101FT was presented in a scale version in an exclusive premiere during the press conference at the Monaco Yacht Show, the most prestigious showcase of the international nautical panorama. The definitive model will set sail at the end of the 2027.
