Claire Rosenkranz – Frankenstein

After generating over half-a-billion streams and topping off multiple year-end lists in 2020, singer-songwriter Claire Rosinkranz is back with a brand-new single entitled “Frankenstein” today via slowplay/Republic Records. Listen to “Frankenstein”—HERE

Another catchy bop, “Frankenstein” uses cowbell to hold down the guitar-laden beat as Claire adds her own 21st century spin to the song inspired by The Cardigans’ classic 90’s hit “Lovefool.” It’s a fun, lighthearted track that’s perfect for summer listening.

About the track, she shared, “I imagine somebody who’s been in a bunch of past relationships, and they haven’t worked out for whatever reason. The guy is just too egotistical. So, you’re fed up and actually try to Frankenstein your perfect boy together. It’s honestly innocent, carefree, and cute.”

The song heralds her forthcoming sophomore EP—due out this summer.

Sam Fischer – Simple

Fresh off the back of his duet with Demi Lovato on “What Other People Say” and his hit single “This City,” Sam Fischer releases “Simple” via RCA Records–an ode to overcoming difficulties in relationships to bring it back to simpler times. Listen HERE.

He said: “I wrote this song through one of my lower points of the last year, but it’s one of my favorite songs. Relationships have their struggles, even in normal times–and this year has been anything but normal. It’s hard to be there for someone when you’re struggling to be there for yourself. I’m grateful to be with an amazing woman who is willing to fight through the hard times to get back to the simple love that started everything.”

Sam’s debut single ‘This City’ is currently sitting on over 500 million worldwide streams and was Top 20 in the UK for 11 weeks. The track has gone double platinum in Australia, platinum in the UK and Gold in the US, New Zealand and Switzerland. He’s also had some incredible US TV performances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Late Show With James Corden.

Sam Fischer first introduced while in college featured in Alex Preston’s “Heartbeats,” gaining traction with 2018’s Not a Hobby. Touring North America with friend Lewis Capaldi, he wowed crowds with his buoyant personality and excellent lyrics. Now based in LA, he not only has received acclaim for his own work, but continues to solidify his spot as one of the hottest current writers, having worked with global pop superstars including Ciara, Lennon Stella, Louis Tomlinson, Elle King, Jessie J, Virginia To Vegas and many more.

However, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for Sam, who endured his own heartache to achieve his dreams. With the promise of a recording contract in the bag, he set off to LA only for the deal to vanish. After months spent doing small time songwriting gigs and local acapella work he finally received his break with “This City” which has been just the amazing start of an exciting new chapter in his career.

Dominique – Soulja Life Mentality

Artist, multi-platinum producer, and entrepreneur Dominique drops his new single “Soulja Life Mentality” via Win 1st Records. Dominque delivers cinematic bars blanketed by boasting beats as he gives fans a powerful preview of this forthcoming debut project True Story. “Soulja Life Mentality” is available to purchase and stream on all music platforms. Listen HERE.

“Soulja Life Mentality” pulls the curtain back on Dom’s experiences navigating as a first-generation Black Man in America and the armor that he, along with many Black men alike, must be equipped with for survival, both in metaphorical and grave literal senses.

“Soulja Life Mentality is a story of frustration that most are familiar with. You got the world on your shoulders, but you have to deal with it alone because you can’t trust too many people. You get views from a Black Man in America here that’s questioning the lack of collective identity. It’s a true story to many men out here; we not only have to be cautious of the people who are hired to keep us safe, but we also have to be wary of our own people.”

“Soulja Life Mentality” follows the success of Dominque’s recently acclaimed singles: “The Player Way” and “The Code.” All three singles will feature on his forthcoming project True Story, which will soon release.

About Dominique

After a knee injury ending his football career during his senior year of college, Dominique switched gears to being a record producer overnight. A proud Guyanese American originally from Broward County, Florida, he began crafting his signature sound that has attracted both mainstream and international superstars. He’s worked with artists such as the late Juice WRLD, T.I., Fivio Foreign, French Montana, Yo Gotti, YFN Lucci, T-Pain, Montana of 300, Maxo Cream, Burna Boy, Lil Yachty and more. Dominique has songs reaching RIAA certified Platinum and Gold, along with over 130 million streams of Spotify alone.

Chloe Flower – Tamie

Following the success of her singles “Get What U Get” and “Flower Through Concrete,” pianist, composer, and producer Chloe Flower—who stole the show with Cardi B at the 2019 Grammy Awards—has announced the release of her self-titled debut album on Sony Music Masterworks, out July 16, 2021.

The album is in three acts: I. Innocence, II. Suffering and III. Hope. It was composed, produced and recorded in the artist’s New York City apartment during the Covid-19 pandemic. It features spoken word from Deepak Chopra and an interpretation of Billie Eilish’s chart-topping hit “Bad Guy.”

In conjunction with today’s announcement, Chloe Flower is releasing her latest single, “Tamie,” from the album. Chloe dedicates the song to her dear friend of the same name and has imbued it with the beauty and resilience of their Asian identity; thus releasing it in observance of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Of the music video, Chloe notes “It’s a celebration of our Asian heritage and culture, and was shot at a classical Chinese garden. As our communities are being targeted with anti-Asian rhetoric and violence, now is the time to celebrate Asian American pride, culture and the positive impact our community has had on the world.”

Encompassing sweet melodies, hip-hop, and trap beats, Chloe Flower is a modern-day classical sensation, pushing the boundaries with her unique self-created “Popsical” genre: a blend of pop and classical. Of her album Chloe states: “I was thinking about the life cycle. You start with innocence; born with a clean state. Throughout life there is suffering which hardens you. But there’s always hope for something better.”

Stating further: “I want people to listen to the album as a whole body of work, which is why I have a prelude and a finale as well as the three acts. The ultimate goal was to make an album that inspires listeners, and makes people hopeful. It’s new, edgy and a sound that is authentic to me.  Even though my music has no lyrics, I still have something [to] say.

The quality of Chloe’s technique and modern musical viewpoint sets her apart. This is a collection that will hopefully establish the artist as a force to be reckoned with. She modernizes the genre of classical music to create something that is totally unique, different and beautiful.

About Chloe Flower

Chloe Flower is the most talked about pianist in the world following a show-stopping performance with Cardi B at the 2019 Grammy Awards. Chloe is an official Steinway Artist, composer, producer, activist, and fashion influencer who began playing piano at the age of two. Chloe Flower proudly celebrates her Asian heritage and culture and is a fierce advocate for women’s representation—particularly women of color—in the music industry. Chloe sits on the board of directors for the Liberace Foundation, and is a strong voice against human trafficking. She was honoured by the Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Activism (CAST) and has spoken at the United Nations as a music education ambassador. With the “Popsical” genre, Chloe Flower is pushing boundaries and reaching new audiences. She has collaborated with Babyface, Nas, and Swizz Beats along with producers Tommy Brown (Ariana Grande/Meghan Trainor) and Mike WiLL Made-It (Beyonce/Miley Cyrus) to name a few.

Noah Kahan – Part of Me

Vermont singer and songwriter Noah Kahan returns with his new single entitled “Part of Me” out now via Republic Records. Listen HERE.

The introspective anthem reflects a natural progression for the artist. Noah’s signature storytelling and evocative lyrics shine over upbeat guitar and production by his frequent collaborator and Grammy Award-winning producer Joel Little (Taylor Swift, Lorde, Shawn Mendes, Jonas Brothers, Khalid). The momentum of the verses crashes right into the relatable hook as he confesses, “I don’t miss you. I miss the way you made me feel.” Similar to Ed Sheeran, Kahan writes engaging lyrics over a soothing beat, and allows for a relaxing listen.

Of the song, Noah says, “‘Part of Me’ is a song about someone looking back on an almost-romance and realizing that what felt like simply a passing moment of connection between two people was actually far more significant and represented a larger loneliness within. Drifting through life and avoiding feelings for anyone or anything is something I’m far too familiar with, and sometimes one experience with somebody can open somebody’s heart and force them to be vulnerable again. ‘Part of Me’ is about the realization that a seemingly insignificant moment can be far more important that you knew.”

Noah Kahan has quietly emerged as a small town musician with a combination of vivid songwriting and powerful performances (as well as a razor-sharp sense of humor on social media). He’s racked up over half-a-billion streams across his catalogue, picked up a Gold Certification for “Hurt Somebody” (feat. Julia Michaels) and performed on television shows such as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Late Night with Seth Meyers and TODAY. His 2020 Cape Elizabeth EP garnered praise from L’Officiel, Atwood Magazine, Variance Magazine, Idolator and more. Not to mention, he’s collaborated with a slew of artists, from Chelsea Cutler to mxmtoon to Quinn XCII to Gryffin.

“Part of Me” heralds Noah Kahan’s anxiously awaited sophomore album, due for release later this year.

About Noah Kahan

Stepping out of his childhood home located on a 133-acre tree farm in Strafford, VT, which has a population of a little over 1,000, and onto stages worldwide, Noah Kahan introduced one side of himself. Since 2017, he has generated half-a-billion combined streams and views, garnered a Gold plaque for “Hurt Somebody” with Julia Michaels, and launched sold-out headline tours in North America, Europe and the UK. His 2019 full-length debut, Busyhead, attracted acclaim from Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, NYLON, Idolator, Ones To Watch and more. He performed on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Late Night With Seth Meyers and TODAY. As he breached radio airwaves and infiltrated popular playlists, he quietly penned songs at a feverish pace. Favoring storytelling, he unveiled another side of himself on 2020’s Cape Elizabeth EP [Republic Records] led by the single “A Troubled Mind.” Following widespread tastemaker praise, he capped off the year with “Pride” feat. mxmtoon and gears up for his sophomore album, set for release in 2021.

Martin Garrix × Bobo × The Edge – We Are The People

Sony Music Netherlands/RCA Records today announce the release of the official UEFA EURO 2020 song “We Are The People” from Martin Garrix, featuring Bono and The Edge. The song is accompanied by an official music video starring all three artists. The visuals work in synergy with the song and together make for an uplifting and inspiring story.

Watch the music video HERE

With the track in the making for three years, Garrix had felt from the early stages of the creative process that Bono’s vocals would make the perfect fit for “We Are the People.” His vision came to life when both Bono and his U2 bandmate The Edge agreed to feature on the song. The collaboration evolved further with Bono writing the lyrics and creating melodies and The Edge adding the leading guitar riffs, resulting in a perfect blend of the signature sounds of each artist.

Martin Garrix said: “Creating the music for one of the biggest sports events in the world together with Bono and The Edge has been an incredible experience. I’m very proud of what we did together and excited to finally share it with the world!”

“We Are The People” reminds us that a song can address challenges facing the world at a given time and present a unified response. It is a hymn sheet from which we can all sing wherever we may come from, but especially in Europe where the UEFA tournament will capture the attention of the whole world. “We Are The People” hopes to reflect the positivity, hope and determination required for any team to succeed, as well as offer a sense of togetherness which fits the theme of UEFA EURO 2020: Unity. For the first time in EURO history, the tournament is being played across the continent, which will display the overriding theme of unity throughout.

Next to the official track, Garrix has also produced the official walkout and broadcast music for the tournament. Releasing on his 25th birthday, the song is a testament to his impressive march through the ranks of the music industry so far. Every UEFA EURO Championship since 1992 has had an official song with the likes of Nelly Furtado, Simply Red, and Enrique Iglesias providing the tournament’s soundtrack in the past.

“The long wait is almost over, and we are delighted to officially unveil the official song for UEFA EURO 2020: ‘We Are The People’, which features some of the world’s most celebrated artists in Martin Garrix, Bono and The Edge,” said UEFA marketing director Guy-Laurent Epstein.

“Football and music have the power of bringing people together. They are vectors of passion and emotion and combining them will extend further the fan celebration of the tournament, as well as reaching out to new audiences. With the star-studded line-up we have pulled together to create the tournament’s official music, we are confident of doing just this.”

UEFA EURO 2020 is being held across the continent for the first time in the competition’s history, with 11 host cities in all. Amsterdam, Baku, Bucharest, Budapest, Copenhagen, Glasgow, London, Munich, Rome, Saint Petersburg and Seville will all host matches this summer with the first match kicking off at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on June 11, 2021 with Turkey facing Italy. The final will take place at Wembley Stadium, London on July, 11 2021.

ELLE Canada’s Exciting June Issue

KO Média is excited to unveil the June issue of ELLE Canada, featuring the stories of three inspiring women’s hockey players who believe equal sweat deserves equal opportunity. “A common misconception about women’s hockey is that we’re not skilled enough, but the game has changed drastically in the past 10 years and there are so many more opportunities allowing girls to work on their skills from a younger age and develop faster,” says Olympic silver medalist Brigette Lacquette, the first First Nations woman to play for Canada’s Olympic hockey team.

No stranger to discrimination, Kirby Howell-Baptiste of The Good Place and the upcoming live-action film Cruella opens up about her rise to fame and why it’s harder for Black actors to make it in London than in Hollywood–as well as what it says about a film set’s inclusivity when there’s no hair stylist who can do her hair.

In fashion, this month is all about how psychedelics are inspiring kaleidoscopic colors and botanical motifs on the runway. Meanwhile, Toronto-based designer Kathryn Bowen talks about her latest collection influenced by old competitive figure skating outfits she rediscovered while home during the pandemic (think youthful sentimentality, elevated sophistication and non-binary tailoring). And we peek behind the scenes at a Chanel runway show where Kristen Stewart was the only guest.

In accessories, we’re looking back on the history of the clog, from Holland to Hermès, and we’re featuring summer sunglasses that prove that la vie is truly en rose (or blue or purple). Plus, the new eyebrow trend everyone’s talking about (and how to do it at home); nautical-inspired styles; and a guide to the summer’s best swoon-worthy romance novels – including recommendations for what to read if you loved Bridgerton or Love Actually.

The June issue of ELLE Canada will hit stands on May 17, 2021.

Jack Savoretti × Nile Rodgers – Who’s Hurting Who

UK singer/songwriter Jack Savoretti debutted the video for his irresistible new single “Who’s Hurting Who,” a disco-fueled pop track featuring the legendary Nile Rodgers. Watch the video HERE.

In creating the video for “Who’s Hurting Who,” Savoretti worked with famed director Giorgio Testi (The Rolling Stones, The Killers, Gorillaz, The 1975, Amy Winehouse, Adele). Complete with flashy vintage sports cars and a bombshell femme fatale, the wildly colorful video follows Savoretti on an adventure through the Italian Riviera and features a cameo from Rodgers. “Nile brings groove, glamour, and chic that is everything that Europiana is,” says Savoretti of his collaborator.

“Who’s Hurting Who” is the first release from Savoretti’s forthcoming album Europiana, due out via Capitol Records on June 25 which is available to pre-order now.

Co-produced by Rodgers and Mark Ralph (Tove Lo, MARINA), “Who’s Hurting Who” arrives as a gloriously upbeat piece of soul-pop, perfectly showcasing Savoretti’s alluring vocal presence. With its dance-ready grooves, glistening guitar riffs, and lavish string arrangements, the song fully embodies the elegant escapism of Europiana, an album Savoretti describes as “the music of my childhood summers, remade for today.” But despite its undeniably fun spirit, “Who’s Hurting Who” also bears an intense emotional power. “It’s my take on the great Kris Kristofferson’s song “Nobody Wins,'” Savoretti reveals. “About behavior I’m all too familiar with, but hopefully is behind me. It’s a serious song in shiny packaging.”

The seventh full-length from Savoretti, Europiana serves as the follow-up to his gold-certified album Singing to Strangers: a 2019 release that marked his first #1 on the UK album chart and earned praise from such outlets as The Telegraph, who hailed its, “heady love songs mixing lush orchestrations with a tight, electric band.” This time around, Savoretti recorded at the famed Abbey Road Studios with leading producers like Cam Blackwood (London Grammar, Florence + the Machine), approaching the album with more confidence and imagination than ever before. “Singing to Strangers was my first album that wasn’t all about me, which I loved,” Savoretti says. “Europiana pushes that further. There are more characters and bigger concepts. I’m looking out at the world, not inwards.”
