LeCrae × Jidenna × Limoblaze – Everyday

After teasing us with a little Afrobeat flavor on Andy Mineo‘s “Coming In Hot,” Afromix ft. Lecrae and Limoblaze, Reach Records films and releases “Everyday,” the latest single to be released from their Summer ’21 Playlist. Lecrae joins Nigerian American singer, Jidenna (“Classic Man”), and UK based Nigerian Afrobeat star Limoblaze, and together the three keep the party lit! “Africa is doing it big and has exploded into pop culture: the food, the fashion, the music. We wanted to bring that authentic vibe to the video so I knew we needed Limo and Jidenna together to make sure we captured it right,” shares Lecrae.

The authenticity you feel in “Everyday,” comes the vibe on the set and a dual team of film-makers, Joe Gonzales (U.S.) and Jay Affluent (Nigerian) who direct and executive produce the video together.”I went to London to hang out with my boy Limoblaze and we talked about what would make a West African party authentic so you see some Jollof Rice steaming in the pot! I got a little taste of West Africa and can’t wait to tour, hopefully this year!”

Limoblaze, who was previously featured on the Andy Mineo ft Lecrae’s “Coming In Hot Afrobeat Remix,” shares that his lyrical inspiration for the song came from a spiritual place. “Having God in my life feels like a holiday! My life experiences are a testimony of the extra mile that God gives me everyday!

The “Been About It” video features recreation of the album artwork of the most famous hip-hop albums ever released.

“Been About It is a homage to the music that raised me. An homage to the culture and the creators who paved a way for hip hop to be a global phenomenon that I get to be a part of,” shares Andy. “We’ve lost so many iconic hip-hop artists in the past few years and sadly, we wait until people die to give them their props! Lecrae and I recorded this song and a dope video to pay tribute to the artists who have impacted hip-hop and inspired us!”

His partner-in-rhyme, Lecrae adds, “Andy and I are products of Hip Hop. These are some of the albums that shaped our childhood. I especially loved remaking the Tupac album cover. He was iconic.”

Lecrae × Experian – Protect the Bag

GRAMMY AWARD WINNING ARTIST, LECRAE, TO HOST NEW PERSONAL FINANCE WEB SERIES PROTECT THE BAG, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH EXPERIAN NORTH AMERICA.

The Protect The Bag Web-Series Talks About the Basics Of Financial Health! Go from FOMO to legacy building.

Grammy Award-winning recording artist, Lecrae, has partnered with Experian North America, a leading information services company, to present Protect The Bag, a six-part web series that provides viewers with a blueprint for building a financial legacy.

The video series produced by Lecrae’s production company, 3 Strand Films, premieres Fall 2021, and guides audiences through the ins and outs of financial health. Through short sketches and the help of some high-profile special guests, Lecrae will break down the basics of financial literacy and credit education to help viewers understand how to balance their financial needs of today, with those of tomorrow.

I am on a mission to spread the word on financial education because I wasn’t educated about money and didn’t know about budgeting, Lecrae explained. I didn’t know to think about the cost of things or what to pay off first because I just didn’t have a strategy. He believes that through his unique vision, partnered with Experian’s expertise, the message of financial health and inclusion will be embraced.

Each episode will cover a key point of building a financial legacy starting with understanding money and utilizing checking and savings accounts. Other topics include budgeting, saving, protecting one’s identity, debt, and investing.

This partnership is part of Experian’s United for Financial Health, a global financial recovery initiative that helps educate and empower vulnerable consumers around their finances and minority business owners around financial health. Under this program, Lecrae previously supported the Home Preservation Grant, an Experian partnership with the NAACP to provide mortgage relief to homeowners negatively impacted by COVID-19.

Credit education isn’t always taught in homes and schools. In fact, a recent Experian survey shows almost one in three (30%) of young adults wish they learned how to build credit or improve their credit scores before entering adulthood, said Wil Lewis, chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer for Experian. We’re excited to partner with Lecrae for ‘Protect The Bag’ and see this as an innovative way to reach young consumers so they can start their financial health journey on the right foot.

Protect The Bag will premiere on Lecrae’s YouTube channel and social media platforms. Learn more at their site or follow Lecrae via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

ELHAE – SEPARATED

WATCH THE VISUAL FOR “SEPARATED” HERE

STREAM “SEPARATED” HERE

Emerging as a melodic force of nature, rare groove enthusiast, singer and lyricist, Elhae releases his music video for “Separated“ out now. A follow up to his infectious “Fun Fact“ single featuring Rick Ross, “Separated” showcases a more complex side of Elhae that his fans have yet to experience. The beautifully shot visual, directed by Loris Russier, captures the emotional dynamic between two lovers who are desperately trying to hold on to their union, but ultimately realize that they’re better off apart. The visual portrays raw imagery with emotional highs and lows as Elhae painfully sings of heartbreak and love lost. Watch it HERE.

Praised by XXL as being “the next R&B sensation that’s about to make a huge wave in the industry,” the visual encompasses all the elements of a classic period piece tied into a modern-day love story, proving that Elhae’s creativity and talent are both layered and timeless. “Choosing “Separated” as a single was a no-brainer for me. I just think it’s such a relatable song in the sense that everyone’s been there before, in that heartbroken space, that disappointed space.” Elhae continues, “It’s not an easy topic for most, but on the other side of it usually comes growth and wisdom.”

“I was really stoked to have Loris Russier direct the video. My creative director Siwoo Lee really put me on to his work and I just loved the colors he was using, the shots and angles he used to convey emotion.” Elhae continues “I knew he’d be the right guy for the job. Although it’s impossible to show a whole relationship in 3 minutes, the goal was to try to show how good things can be and then instantly not be with someone you love. The song is really emotional, and I just wanted to pair that with something just as emotional visually. I love how everything came out and excited to work on more projects with Loris in the future.”

Known for his creativity and incredible attention to detail, Elhae’s vision for the single’s cover art was inspired by the parable of Samson & Delilah, a story of man who lost his strength due to putting his trust into the wrong woman. Produced by P2J (Beyonce’s Brown Skin Girl) and co-written by Ari PenSmith (Doja Cat, Snoh Aalegra) “Separated” showcases Elhae in rare form as he boldly sings “I’m man enough to take the blame for my mistakes, it’s unfortunate you wanna try again, I can’t relate.”

In addition to XXL, Elhae has garnered glowing praise from The FaderBillboardVibeThe Source, and more. His 2016 album All Have Fallen produced hits like “Doesn’t Matter” (feat. Kehlani) and “Needs,” which has over 19M Spotify streams. 2017’s Aura II EP boasted the Ty Dolla $ign-assisted “Bang Your Line,” which adds to its 24M Spotify streams every day. Outside his solo work, Elhae has collaborated with stars like Lecrae and Eric Bellinger. Following his 2018 Coachella performance, he released his conceptual album Trouble in Paradise (2019).

About Elhae:

North Dakota-born and Georgia-raised singer, artist, and visionary ELHAE approaches R&B like a film director would, choosing every element carefully, ensuring an intricate level of cohesion, and building his own world. Since catching fire in 2015 on the independent Aura EP, he worked towards eventually architecting such a world. The follow-up All Have Fallen yielded fan favorites such as “Doesn’t Matter” [feat Kehlani] and “Needs,” which clocked 19 million-plus Spotify streams. In between, he garnered glowing praise from the likes of The FaderBillboardVibeThe Source, and more as Sprite named him among its P.O.U.R. (Purveyors of Urban Reality) program. The 2017 sequel to Aura, the Aura II EP, boasted “Drama,” “Something,” and the popular “Bang Your Line” [feat. Ty Dolla $ign]. The latter ignited 24 million Spotify streams and counting. Meanwhile, he lent his voice to high-profile collaborations with Lecrae, Eric Bellinger, and many others in addition to supporting blackbear on tour.

2018 saw him grace the stage of Coachella for the first time in front of 40,000 fans as he diligently worked on new tunes in Los Angeles, Miami, and Atlanta. Inspired by childhood favorite albums such as Kid Cudi’s Man on the Moon: The End of Day, Childish Gambino’s Because the Internet, and Kendrick Lamar’s Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City, he developed an airtight vision with a detailed plotline for his next release. In 2019, the vision unfolds over the course of his twelve-track conceptual project, Trouble In Paradise [Atlantic Records], introduced by the intoxicating first single “Hennessy.” His sound is about to blow up on the biggest canvas possible now.

Lecrae inspires DJJ youth

Lecrae inspires DJJ youth

Grammy Award-winning artist Lecrae shared his road to restoration with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) youth during a visit to the Rockdale Regional Youth Detention Center (RYDC). There, he inspired youth to reach for their dreams. Lecrae is not only a platinum-selling recording artist but also New York Times best-selling author, entrepreneur, speaker, thought leader, and philanthropist.

Youth from DJJ’s Chat and Chew Book Club at the Rockdale RYDC and female youth from the Macon Youth Development Campus (YDC) discussed life topics with Lecrae, including how he handles his success, money management, maintaining integrity in difficult situations, and the importance of self-worth.

“I am grateful Lecrae was able to spend this vital time with our youth,” said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. “It is important for youth to hear positive messages from someone they admire and respect. Lecrae’s story is truly inspirational and we will continue to provide opportunities like these to youth to show them that their past experiences do not determine their future.”

Lecrae donated copies of his book, I Am Restored: How I Lost My Religion but Found My Faith, to youth ahead of his visit to the Rockdale facility. He performed several of his hit records, including the single “Set Me Free” off his latest album, Restoration. Approximately ten female youth from the Macon YDC were able to join the Chat and Chew virtually.

“Today was incredible,” said Lecrae about his visit with DJJ youth. “They had great questions and it was very authentic. My hope for youth in these circumstances is that they understand that this is not the end of their story.”

He shared the critical role his faith plays in his everyday life, his struggles with growing up in a rough neighborhood, his experiences with incarcerated loved ones, what motivates him to be better, and how writing helped him process his emotions.

Lecrae first began visiting incarcerated youth before his first album after one of his closest friends asked him to volunteer. “Hopefully, it is a seed planted,” said Lecrae. “The work is never done and I’m just a little blip on the radar, but I feel like the staff here is continuing to do the work. I’m glad that I could support everything that they are already doing.”
