FRIENDS Virtual Tour

Award-winning NYC Tour Company Launches F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Virtual Tour

The One Where Friends Comes to Your Apartment

Oh. My. God. Could this BE any more exciting? Just in time for the Friends 25th anniversary, On Location Tours has launched a Friends Virtual Tour, where YOU can be your own cast member alongside Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Chandler, Ross and Joey! This activity is perfect for those desperate to beat the winter (and quarantine) blues.

The Friends Virtual Tour is the latest from Georgette Blau, founder of On Location Tours, one of the world’s largest TV and movie tour companies, based in New York City.  With Covid-19 shutting down tourism, On Location Tours had to “pivot” their business model to ensure a safe experience for everyone. The Friends New York City apartment building was a famous location highlight on the NYC TV and Movie Tour. Since tour operations are “on a break” due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the virtual tour will let any Friends fan jump into second gear, and it will make their day, their week, their month, and even their year! The tour is hosted by tour guide Roseanne Almanzar, an actress and mother who has been a dedicated staff member of On Location Tours for 20 years.

Roseanne takes Friends’ fans on a 40-minute tour to 18 locations made famous by the acclaimed series. Additionally, purchasing a ticket will also grant a customer admission to the virtual Friends trivia night, which On Location Tours holds monthly.  The trivia ticket can also be purchased separate from the tour.

If customers are based in the US, they can purchase an additional add-on Friends box shipped to their home address (don’t worry, a smelly cat isn’t included). The box contains a Central Perk mug along with four other surprise keepsake items. The full package (tour, trivia, and goodie box) is $68, and the tour + trivia (no goodie box) is $29.  If you would like more information about The Friends Virtual Tour, please contact Erin Miller by email.

Oates Song Fest 7908

The legendary John Oates of Hall & Oates and his wife, Aimee, are producing a free, virtual concert aimed at fighting hunger across America: Oates Song Fest 7908. The Oates are co-hosting the event with internet sensation, Saxsquatch, and are partnering with a league of star-studded performers including Dave Grohl, Sammy Hagar, Daryl Hall, Dan+Shay, Darius Rucker, Sara Bareilles, Bob Weir, Shawn Colvin, Gavin DeGraw, Matt Nathanson, Louis York, Quinn Sullivan, Infinity Song and Jewel. Additionally, there will be guest appearances by Monica, Angie Harmon, Hayley Orrantia and more.

All donations and proceeds from the event will go to Feeding America®. Feeding America estimates that more than 50 million people may face hunger in the U.S. because of coronavirus, which is 1 in 6 people, and 1 in 4 children. During the Oates Song Fest 7908 broadcast, viewers will be able to donate via a unique QR code and at this website. Oates Song Fest 7908 is streaming on NugsTV on March 20, 2021 at 8pm ET. The link for the virtual streaming concert can be found here.

Here at 360 Magazine, we chatted with John Oates about his inspiration for creating the festival, exciting celebrity collaborations, and the new song that he wrote especially for this virtual performance.

Besides the entirety of the pandemic itself, was there any particular occurrence that originally inspired you and Aimee to produce OATES SONG FEST 7908?

We were asked to revive a show that we produced in 2010 called the 7908 Aspen Songwriters Festival (7,908 ft. being the altitude of Aspen, CO). When we realized that we couldn’t have a live audience, we pivoted to the idea of doing a virtual version with a charitable component. That’s when we reached out to FeedingAmerica and NugsTV to be our streaming partners.

How did you decide on the line-up of artists to headline this fest?

Many of the artists were actually involved in the original Aspen Festival 10 years ago and most of the others are friends, or someone who we really admire.

Where did you originally discover Saxsquatch, and why were they picked as co-host?

My wife Aimee discovered Saxsquach online and turned me on to him. We reached out on Instagram and began to come up with an idea to collaborate on a project…I can’t give it away, but we will debut a special video that we did together on the Oates Song Fest 7908 and trust me, you won’t want to miss it!

What songs are you most looking forward to performing at OATES SONG FEST 7908?

It wouldn’t be fair not to mention every artist since they have all been so gracious to donate their time and music. I will say that I’m going to end the show with a brand-new song that I wrote for this performance.

Where will you be performing during your set?

I will be performing from an empty theatre in Nashville and my set will be in the middle and end of the show.

How do you work to create an immersive concert viewing experience online while operating virtually?

We will have a very entertaining variety of diverse and multi-generational musicians and celebrities who will make special appearances throughout.

How can listeners donate to Feeding America during the concert stream?

During the broadcast of “Oates Song Fest 7908” viewers will be able to donate via a unique QR code and at this website.

Celebrities team up for philanthropic single – “PINK”

Five musical superstars have joined forces in the fight against breast cancer, releasing a new song – “PINK.” The new single features Dolly Parton, Monica, Jordin Sparks, Sara Evans and Rita Wilson – who herself is a breast cancer survivor.

This special collaboration benefits Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization. The song was produced by Victoria Shaw and co-written with Erin Kinsey and Jodi Marr. Victoria Shaw is a singer/songwriter/producer known for iconic hits like Garth Brooks’ “The River,” Ricky Martin and Christina Aguilera’s “Nobody Wants to be Lonely,” among a multitude of others with recorded songs for artists such as Faith Hill, Billy Ray Cyrus, Reba McEntire, LeAnn Rimes, Trisha Yearwood, Olivia Newton-John, and many more artists.

The song is distributed by Brighter Day Records and available digitally everywhere. PINK features legendary artists from country, pop and R&B. The moving lyrics and vocals provide listeners with hope for a future when no one loses someone they love to breast cancer and “PINK is just another color.”

Each year breast cancer kills more than 42,000 women and men in the U.S. alone. Since 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed at some point in her lifetime, nearly everyone has or will be touched by this disease, whether personally or by someone they love.

“This is such a beautiful song of hope,” said Dolly Parton. “I’m honored to join with these powerful women to help support Susan G. Komen’s life-saving work.”

“Breast cancer is a leading cause of death among African American women! My goal is to change that,” added Monica. “My life and loved ones have been directly impacted by this disease and I want us all to live in a world without breast cancer. Let’s make pink just another color.”

“As a younger woman, I know that breast cancer can still be a possibility,” said Jordin Sparks. “Through all of us working together, we can change the future so that younger generations never have to face breast cancer. This song paints a vision of when that day comes.”

“The song is not just for someone who is a survivor or going through breast cancer treatment, it is for anyone who loves someone who has been impacted by breast cancer,” added Rita Wilson. “That’s what I love about the song.”

“After performing at the Opry Goes Pink last year, I’m thrilled to be supporting Susan G. Komen again this year in a very big way,” said Sara Evans. “There is something magical that happens when women band together to have a positive impact on the world for our sisters and our daughters.”

The song is written by Erin Kinsey, Jodi Marr and Victoria Shaw, produced by Victoria Shaw, distributed by Brighter Day Records and available digitally everywhere. Listen and learn more now.

Komen noted that due to disruptions in health care services and the financial impact caused by the pandemic, Komen’s help is needed now more than ever. As breast cancer patients’ trusted partner, Komen provides support through services such as a free Breast Care Helpline, which provides emotional support in addition to guidance to national and local resources. Komen’s Treatment Assistance Program helps pay for expenses that may serve as a financial barrier to receiving the care patients need to live longer, better lives. And through a combination of research, community health programs and advocacy, Komen is working to support those affected by breast cancer today, while tirelessly searching for tomorrow’s cures.

“In a single moment, a person’s life changes forever – there is life before breast cancer, and life after,” noted Paula Schneider, CEO of Susan G. Komen and a breast cancer survivor. “We are extremely honored that these powerful women have leant their time and talents to help us advance our mission and give a moment of hope to everyone impacted by breast cancer. Together, we will save lives and get closer to a world without breast cancer.”

TYLER JACOB

East coast born and bred, Tyler Jacob is a singer/songwriter who got his start in the industry after being discovered singing on the trains of NYC.

At the age of 5 years old, Tyler Jacob started singing and performing in school plays. Tyler says that “I’ve always wanted to sing. It was a natural thing for me.” His family recalls little Tyler putting on shows in the family living room.

“I don’t come from a family of singers. I’m the only one.”

But it wasn’t until his freshmen year in high school did he realize others thought he had a gift, when he was accidentally placed in a choir class. “The choir teacher asked me to sing, so she could classify my voice.” The rest is history. After the choir teacher heard Tyler’s voice, she had him transferred to Creative Arts High School (CAHS) in Camden, New Jersey.

Tyler’s passion to sing, write and perform his own music, in English and Spanish, pushed him after he graduated from CAHS to move to the big Apple to pursue his singing career. Since then he has gone on to win numerous talent shows , performed on many stages across the US, opened up for Grammy Award winner, Brandy Norwood, and logged studio time with Carvin & Ivan (Chris Brown, Musiq Soulchild, Mario), and Andrea Martin (Leona Lewis, Monica, Mary J. Blige).

Tyler credits artists like Brandy, Eryka Badu, Lauryn Hill, Aaliyah, Jon B, Marc Anthony, Tank, Maxwell, as some of his influences.
