Stefflon Don Wins at MOBO Awards

WINNING THE AWARD FOR BEST FEMALE ACT AT LAST NIGHT’S MOBO AWARDS, STEFFLON DON ALSO OPENED THE SHOW IN SPECTACULAR STYLE

>>>WATCH HERE<<<

Brit Awards announces first all-female Critics’ Choice shortlist Including Quality Control Music/Motown/Capitol’s Stefflon Don!

Before they were famous, Sam Smith, Florence + The Machine, and Adele were all tipped for success by the Brits’ Critics’ Choice award. This year’s line-up has just been announced and, for the first time, it’s an all-female field. Birmingham-born MC Stefflon Don is joined on the list by soul singers Jorja Smith and Mabel. The winner will be announced on 4 December, ahead of next year’s Brit Awards. Stefflon Don has already tasted chart success this year, reaching the top 10 with Hurtin’ Me, and featuring in Jax Jones’ dance smash Instruction. The Brit nominees were chosen by a panel of music industry experts – including critics, record label employees and the heads of the UK’s biggest radio stations. More than 100 artists were considered, with each voter selecting their own shortlist of five up-and-coming artists. Before they become ubiquitous, brush up on the 2018 nominees below.

STEFFLON DON

Click Below To Watch Stefflon Don freestyle on DJ Whoo Kid:

Stephanie “Stefflon Don” Allen was born in Birmingham to Jamaican parents, before moving to Rotterdam and finally, in her teens, settling in east London. You can hear echoes of her upbringing in her confident, inventive songs, which combine dancehall patois, grime verses, and honeyed R&B vocals. Earlier this year, she scored a top 10 hit with Hurtin’ Me.

Age: 25

From: London

Inspired by: Lil’ Kim, Foxy Brown, Missy Elliott and Destiny’s Child

For fans of: Nicki Minaj, Wretch 32, Drake

Did you know? Her moniker is a play on Teflon Don – the nickname of mob boss John Gotti – as well as “Steff London”.

She says: “I am so excited to be nominated for this amazing award. A big shout out to all my fans and dons for their support. 2017 has been lit and I can’t wait for 2018! Mad love to you all”

Stefflon Don

I am so excited to be nominated for this amazing award. A big shout out to all my fans and dons for their support. 2017 has been lit and I can’t wait for 2018! Mad love to you all”

Stefflon Don is a charismatic, multilingual, multitalented rapper, singer and songwriter. Speaking English, Dutch and splattering her speech with her parent’s Jamaican patois, Steff has the effortless ability to inhabit many worlds, offering a genuine, authentic global perspective through her music. Whether rap, grime, pop, bashment or bubbling, Steff sounds utterly at home. It’s perhaps why such an impressive array of artists from Charli XCX to Lil Yachty and Wretch 32 have wanted to work with the 25-year-old. One of seven siblings born in Birmingham to Jamaican parents, Steff’s family moved to Holland when she was five-years-old, where was raised in Rotterdam and enjoyed a particularly uninhibited childhood surrounded by Europeans, Turkish and Caribbean people. She had her first studio session at the age of nine and spent her teen years singing and rapping with her brothers and sisters. Steff returned to the UK when she was 14 and made an impression in 2015 with her powerful, patois-inflected version of Wretch 32‘s Six Words and her take on the Section Boy’s street smash Lock Arff.

Exhibition A × NADA Miami 2017

Exhibition A is pleased to announce its Cultural Partnership with NADA Miami 2017.

We are collaborating directly with Shara Hughes to launch a new print edition exclusive to NADA Miami 2017; a series of which will be enhanced by a hand-painted component that will draw on Hughes’ larger painting practice.

Hughes’ paintings offer glimpses into psychedelic landscapes and otherworldly portals; layered compositions that reveal as much as they conceal. Inspired by her purposeful painterly framing of her landscapes, we’ve collaborate with Hughes to release a series of fifteen painted frames to encase her new print edition, resulting in a sculptural realization of Hughes’ work.

By collaborating directly with top contemporary artists to publish limited edition artworks sold for a fraction of gallery prices, Exhibition A broadens the world of contemporary art collecting. Schlitterbahn Waterpark

by Krishan Narsinghani, Kelsey Welsh × Vaughn Lowery

Planning a family getaway? I bet you haven’t thought of adding New Braunfels, Texas to the list of possible destinations, but you really should. New Braunfels, Texas is home to one of the largest immersive theme parks in the United States. Schlitterbahn Waterpark & Resort is home to the most eclectic collection of water rides in the world. Guests dive headfirst into constant adventure as they float down one of the 51 rivers, slides and chutes that the park has to offer.

Schlitterbahn translates to “slippery road” in German, honoring the heritage of the family who started it all. Bob and Billye Henry uprooted their three children in 1966 and moved from Houston to New Braunfels to pursue Bob’s dream of owning and operating a small family business. The Henrys responded to a “for sale” ad in a local newspaper and purchased a cabin resort along the Comal River. They installed a tube slide that would dump their guests into the river. A few years after studying Floridian waterparks, the Henrys realized that they could incorporate the concept into their own resort; and voilà, Schlitterbahn was born. The flagship property was established in 1979 and has been offering both thrill seekers and sight seers ideal vacation experiences for nearly four decades. Since its founding, four additional properties have opened up: Galveston Island, Texas; South Padre Island, Texas; Corpus Christi, Texas (which included a 9-hole golf course); and Kansas City, Kansas.

Staff members of 360 Magazine were invited to get our feet wet and dive into the fun at the original New Braunfels location. Schlitterbaun Waterpark & Resort is a hotspot for family vacations, corporate outings, and friendly getaways. The park maintains a refreshing 72-degree temperature for the spring water that flows into the rides, tube slides and pools. The famous Boogie Bahn surfing simulator, which is one of the first of its kind in the world, is a favorite of pro-boarders, inexperienced newbies, and everyone in between. Over 50,000 gallons of water circulate over the ride’s foam surface, which was built to cushion the occasional gnarly wipeout, yet the water depth measures just a few inches.

Guests can take a break from water coasters, such as the award-winning Master Blaster, and enjoy the miles of scenic river that flow amidst the 100-year-old oak, cedar and cypress trees. The river serves as a water source to the park’s attractions as well as a backdrop for guests to gawk at while they slip and slide their way to an amazing vacation experience. During our visit, we found out exactly what it is about Schlitterbaun that has made it worthy of 19 consecutive, 36 overall, Amusement Today’s Golden Ticket award wins.

Calling all grill-masters; Schlitterbahn is littered with BBQ stations so that guests can whip up everything from hamburgers and hotdogs to grilled tofu and corn-on-the-cob. Those who are not quite so grill-savvy or simply don’t feel like cooking can make use of the park’s catering services or head down to one of the food stands and pick up a delicious BBQ brisket or a cheeseburger topped with flaming hot Cheetos. Guests 21-and-over can enjoy their favorite drinks by visiting one of the bars or bringing their own from home since, unlike most other theme-parks, the park is BYOB. Families can relax and enjoy their meals by taking the time to sit and snack at one of the park’s many picnic spots.

The resort accommodations and beautiful surroundings set Schlitterbaun apart from all other waterparks. It is perfect for all sorts of travelers: visitors can choose any of the seven room types or even opt for a stylish seven-room vacation home. Resort guests who choose to stay at one of the luxurious Riverbend Cabins are treated to an unbeatable view of the Canal River as well as given an Early Access pass to the Blastenhoff Section, where Master Blaster is located. Schlitterbahn has various room configuration options complete with a living space, kitchenette and stackable washer/dryer to keep the family’s clothes fresh.

360 Magazine had a blast; we didn’t want to leave! So, water you waiting for? Book your vacation and experience an aquatic adventure like no other.

•        The Lot includes a slot at the coveted 2019 ROBB Report Car of the Year Competition and a curated selection of wine from Alpha Omega, whose handcrafted wines blend the Old World’s winemaking style with New World technology.

Patrons of the 2018 Naples Winter Wine Festival will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become the owner of a very special Rolls-Royce Phantom. The three-day event, founded by the Naples Children & Education Foundation, takes place January 26-28, 2018 at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has reserved the very first standard wheelbase Phantom as the featured luxury item in what is being heralded as the Phantom ‘Ultimate Power Lot.’ As the longest existing nameplate in motoring history, Phantom has defined British luxury craftsmanship for more than 92 years. Every modern Rolls-Royce is handcrafted exclusively at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England and the all-new Rolls-Royce Phantom marks a new chapter in Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ history.

Proceeds from the Festival’s annual live auction benefit the Naples Children & Education Foundation and to round off the Lot, this special delivery, from the Home of Rolls-Royce, comes with the opportunity to participate in the 2019 ROBB Report Car of the Year event. The final component of the lot includes a curated collection of wine from Alpha Omega, a Napa Valley winery that blends the Old World’s European balanced style of winemaking with the New World’s technology to create elegant, Bordeaux-style wines. “Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is honored to leverage our position as the world’s leading luxury brand to support the children who benefit from the proceeds of this event,” says Rolls-Royce Motor Cars NA President Pedro Mota. “Our owners curate their collection of motor cars and wine alike. And there is no one item more sought after for our collectors than a one of a kind Bespoke Phantom.”

The 2019 ROBB Report Car of the Year judging event, held in Napa Valley in 2018, includes a seat on the Car of the Year judging panel plus accommodation and meals at top rated spots throughout the event. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and the ROBB Report have shared a special relationship since the title first emerged as a newsletter for successful Rolls-Royce motor car owners decades ago.

To celebrate the all-new 6.75 liter Rolls-Royce V12 engine in the Rolls-Royce Phantom, Alpha Omega has created a special 6-liter bottle of the 2014 ERA flagship wine etched with the Rolls-Royce badge. The Lot also includes a 12-month, 2-bottle Alpha Omega Wine Club membership. Since the winner will be enjoying some of the best wines that Napa Valley has to offer, they will also have the opportunity to visit Alpha Omega winery for a private vineyard tour complete with lunch and wine pairings in its cave or vineyards for six guests along with a private Library Cellar tasting experience.

Bahamas

Bahamas Release New Single “Way With Words” Today

New Album Earthtones Available January 19, 2018

On Tour Now

Check out “Way With Words” Here!

Today, Juno Award-winning Toronto singer and songwriter Bahamas—a.k.a. Afie Jurvanen—releases his new single “Way With Words” vie Brushfire/Republic Records.

Check out “Way With Words” HERE.

It heralds the arrival of his fourth full-length album, Earthtones [Brushfire/Republic Records], in stores and at all digital retailers on January 19, 2018. Pre-order it HERE.

On the song Jurvanen stated: “It was hard for me to get excited about this song. I have recorded it a few times and nothing has stuck. We started as a trio with Pino (Palladino) and James (Gadson) and I tried not playing guitar at all at first… Pino came up with this this crazy chordal thing on bass and the song started to come to life more. Added guitars from Christine Bougie and myself while we were on a break touring with The Lumineers and Felicity Williams, Robin Dann and Alanna Stuart added all the harmony parts last December.”

Merging sparse, chilled-out production, hummable guitar, and a sweeping hook, “Way With Words” is the follow-up to Bahamas’ recent single “No Wrong.Upon its arrival last month, “No Wrong” quickly racked up over half a million Spotify streams and ignited excitement among fans for the impending release of Earthtones.  Watch the music video HERE!

Most importantly, the album upholds a tradition of progression for the artist. Recorded in Los Angeles with the ultimate rhythm section—Pino Palladino [Adele, Ed Sheeran, The Who] on bass and drummer James Gadson [Herb Alpert, D’Angelo]—Earthtones represents another creative breakthrough for Bahamas as the sound becomes deeper and more dynamic than ever before.

Bahamas released his Juno Award-nominated full-length debut, Pink Strat, in 2009 followed by the 2012 fan favorite Barchords. Between supporting Wilco, The Lumineers and Jack Johnson on the road, he built an impassioned audience. 2014’s Bahamas Is Afie represented a watershed moment. Not only did it achieve the 2015 Juno Award for “Adult Alternative Album of the Year,” but he also garnered “Songwriter of the Year” for the singles “All The Time,” “Bitter Memories, and “Stronger Than That. A streaming juggernaut who averages nearly 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify, “All The Time” generated a staggering 32 million streams and counting as “Stronger Than That” cracked 9 million. Moreover, he popped up on playlists such as “Calm Down,” “Happy Folk,” “Indie Chillout,” and

many more.
