NICO ROSBERG

Rimac Nevera #001 Delivered to 2016 Formula One World Champion and sustainability entrepreneur, Nico Rosberg

Just a month after the first production-ready Rimac Nevera, #000, rolled out of Rimac’s facility in Zagreb, Croatia, car #001 has been delivered to its owner – 2016 Formula One World Champion and sustainability entrepreneur Nico Rosberg. Prior to the car being sent to his home in Monaco,  Rosberg made the trip to Rimac HQ in Croatia to catch up with Mate and to see the very latest developments within the Rimac Group first-hand.

Production of the world’s first all-electric hypercar GT is now underway at Rimac’s new facility on the outskirts of Zagreb. The first year of production is already sold out. Almost every major component of the car is designed, engineered, and built at  Rimac weeks or months prior to each car being finished, and installed in the last phase of production – the vehicle assembly which takes about five weeks per car.

Showcasing the broad range of customization options available to customers, car  #000 – set to be retained by Rimac – was finished in a bright Callisto Green with  Sand Alcantara interior. For car #001, Nico has deliberately chosen a much more aggressive specification described when he first designed his car as the ‘full  Batmobile spec’.

With Stellar Black paint, polished Vertex wheels and gloss black brake calipers, it’s perhaps the most menacing personality of Nevera possible. The interior is finished in all black Alcantara, with subtle ‘Nico Rosberg’ signature on the armrest plate  marking the car 001/150. The first customer owned example of the Nevera will be based in the Principality of Monaco, Rosberg’s home, becoming the first all-electric hypercar in the sovereign state.

Nico Rosberg has been a part of the Rimac journey since he first saw the C_Two  concept – which would become Nevera – in person several years ago. He believed in Mate’s vision for the Nevera as a truly engaging and comfortable next generation hypercar, capable of crossing continents and lapping racetracks, all on electric power. He became one of the very first customers.

Rosberg said: “Ever since I first met Mate and truly understood the genius behind  Nevera, I knew I wanted car number one. For me, this car represents absolutely everything I could ever want. It showcases the very best of innovative electrification  technology, bringing it into a car designed literally from the ground-up to be not just incredibly fast – or the fastest – but really great to drive, too. I can’t wait to  see what it can do.”

Following an 11-year career in Formula One that saw him crowned World  Champion in 2016, Nico has embarked on a career as a sustainability entrepreneur and investor in green technologies. He is invested in more than twenty mobility start-ups as well as Formula E, while his all-electric Extreme E racing team – Rosberg X Racing are the Championship winners of 2021 and are leading the current season.

In 2019, he founded the Greentech Festival, a global platform for sustainable innovation and lifestyle. As of 2021, the event has been hosted in New York, London, Singapore as well as the city it was first established in – Berlin.

Mate Rimac, CEO of the Rimac Group, said, “When we first started designing the  Nevera we set out to build a car that would impress even the best drivers in the world. Nico was on that list, and it’s a great feeling to know that someone who has mastered the most focused and cutting-edge motorsport in the world gets such a thrill from the car that we’ve created. We’re all looking forward to following  Nico’s journeys with the Nevera; all of his cars are used and enjoyed, which is exactly what we encourage our owners to do. And if anyone can test the limits of what we’ve built, it’s him. We’re proud to call Nico a friend and the first member  of the rapidly expanding Rimac Nevera owner family.”

With the first customer car delivered, uniquely specified Neveras will now begin appearing on the streets of countries all over the world. Only 150 examples will ever be built, sold and maintained by Rimac Automobili’s global network of 25  dealer partners, stretching across North America, Europe, Middle East, and Asia.

Even before this first customer delivery, the Nevera has already received global acclaim for its world-leading technologies and unrivalled performance. With 1,914hp,  the Nevera is capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in 1.85 seconds, to 100mph in  4.3 seconds and can run the quarter mile in a world-record 8.582 seconds. This year alone, Nevera has been named GQ’s Hypercar of the Year, Top Gear Magazine’s Best Electric Performance Car and Robb Report’s Best Hypercar.

Taking an all gas no breaks approach on the road to TURBO, Kelow‘s latest singles “He Ain’t Mine” featuring Asian Doll, “Titanic” featuring Goonew, and “Genius” all, in their own right, have quickly become stand-out releases for the DMV-bred artist. Kelow garnered acclaim and a range of fans thanks to her definitive album TSA which was released in 2019 followed closely by TSA Deluxe in 2020. Songs like “PowerPuff Girls,” “Hammer Time,” and “The Real Deal,” showed off her ability to transcend genres and consistently innovate.

Prior to the release of TSA, Kelow delivered singles and visuals as a creative director under the name BUTTA, opening up for acts like Metro Boomin. She also built buzz with the success of her EP Amethyst Stoner and its adrenaline-fuelled tune “Finna” that became a viral hit on SoundCloud. “Finna” was later transformed into a charismatic remix featuring Lil Uzi Vert.

Kelow is in the business of making music that moves you, makes you feel good and connects people. Her upcoming project Turbo is set for release in 2022. This is just the beginning.

Top Supplements Vegans Need To Avoid Nutrition Gaps

Essential Supplements for First Time Vegans
By: Carolina Schneider, MS, RD, registered dietitian

Plant-based eating continues to grow in popularity, and for good reasons: It is beneficial for human health, more environmentally sustainable, and supportive of animal welfare. A well-balanced vegan diet – one that excludes all animal products – is associated with a lower risk for chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and some types of cancer. Some of the more immediate benefits people experience when switching to a vegan diet include increased energy levels, improved digestion, reduced joint pain and menstrual cramps, and better skin appearance.

Mind the Nutrition Gaps

Switching to a fully vegan diet requires planning and intention, and should be done with the guidance of a health professional. If not done properly, a plant-based diet may result in nutrient deficiencies, which can lead to future health complications. With the rise in vegan food options at the grocery stores and restaurants, there has also been an increase in highly processed, “junk vegan foods” that contain little to no nutritional value. Micronutrients, which include vitamins and minerals, are essential for many body processes such as immune function, energy production, bone strength and heart health.

Although these nutrients are found in wholesome (non-processed) plant foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds, some vitamins and minerals are less bioavailable – or more difficult for the body to absorb – when obtained from plant sources. Therefore, supplementation can be an effective and inexpensive way to prevent nutrient deficiencies. Here are the top supplements vegans should take to avoid nutrient gaps:

Vitamin B12: for energy

Vitamin B12 is essential for energy production, nerve cell function, DNA synthesis, and red blood cell production. Vitamin B12 also plays a role in heart health as it regulates blood levels of the amino acid homocysteine – elevated homocysteine levels are associated with an increased risk for heart disease. A vitamin B12 deficiency can cause fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, and in more severe cases, can lead to neurological issues such as numbing of fingers and toes.

Considering that the main food sources of vitamin B12 are animal products such as meat, eggs, fish, and shellfish, supplementation is required. Although some plant-based foods such as cereals and nutritional yeast are fortified with vitamin B12, they are not reliable sources. The recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for vitamin B12 is 2.4 mcg for adults, however, because the body absorbs only a small percentage of vitamin B12 from supplements, 500 mcg is recommended. Older adults should supplement with 1,000 mcg.

Aged Garlic Extract: for heart health

Aged Garlic Extract is a well-studied supplement that supports cardiovascular health. Considering that heart disease is the number-one killer in the United States, being proactive about cardiovascular health is important for everyone, regardless of their diet. The typical go-to supplement for heart health is fish oil, but since vegan diets don’t include fish, garlic supplements are your best bet! This is especially important for those with a family history of heart disease, or those consuming highly processed vegan foods such as ‘mock’ meats, frozen foods and salty snacks. These are high in saturated fats and sodium, both of which negatively impact heart health.

Aged Garlic Extract (AGE) has been shown to improve heart disease risk factors such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure and clogged arteries. The proprietary aging process to make AGE increases garlic’s antioxidant power, removes its strong odor, and concentrates its benefits. In short, the AGE is far more potent than raw garlic. In fact, you would have to eat up to 28 garlic cloves to get these same benefits, which is not realistic nor recommended as it can cause digestive discomfort. Kyolic Vegan Aged Garlic Extract is ideal for vegans because this formula is free from animal ingredients or byproducts. Many supplements contain animal ingredients such as gelatin (from animal skin and bones) and beeswax to

encapsulate the nutrients, so it’s important for those following a plant-based diet to read the supplement labels carefully. The health benefits of Kyolic AGE have been supported by more than 900 published scientific papers. It is also easy to consume, odorless, and leaves no aftertaste.

Calcium: for bones and teeth

Calcium is an essential mineral responsible for bones and teeth health. This is because calcium is a major component of bones, giving them strength and structure. It also plays an important role in muscle contraction, blood clotting and regulating normal heart rhythms and nerve function. Calcium is especially important for vegans as research has indicated plant-based eaters to have weaker bones and be at a higher risk for bone fractures.

Plant-based sources of calcium include leafy greens, legumes, nuts, seeds and fortified plant milk. Although some of these foods — such as kale — are excellent sources of calcium, you would have to eat 10 cups of kale to meet daily calcium requirements. Additionally, because vitamin D is essential for calcium absorption, those with low vitamin D levels may not retain the calcium from food.

The RDA for calcium is 1,000 mg for adults and 1,200 mg for women age 50 and older and men age 71 and older. Because calcium is best absorbed when taken in small amounts, a 600mg calcium supplement is recommended twice per day. However, most calcium supplements are made from animal sources, so vegans should look for plant-based calcium, which is usually sourced from algae, such as red marine algae.

Vitamin D: for immune support

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that supports the immune system by enhancing the function of immune cells, which help the body fight disease and infection. Vitamin D also helps the body absorb and retain calcium and phosphorus, both of which are critical for bone health. Finally, vitamin D plays a role in reducing inflammation and the risk of infection.

Plant-based foods such as fruit juices, plant milk and cereals can be fortified with vitamin D, but these are not reliable sources. For example, you would need to drink 6.5 cups of vitamin D-fortified plain milk each day to meet the minimum daily requirement. Non-food sources of vitamin D include sunlight, which the

body is able to convert into the active form of the vitamin. However, prolonged sun exposure is associated with an increased risk for skin cancer and therefore should be limited.

Vitamin D supplementation is a much more effective way to meet daily requirements when compared to foods and sunlight. In fact, it is estimated that about 40% of the U.S. population has a vitamin D deficiency. Most vitamin D supplements are inexpensive and easy to swallow because of their small size. Although the current guideline for vitamin D is 600 IU per day, a growing body of research suggests that 2,000 IU per day is beneficial for supporting the immune system.

Beyond Supplements

Those who are interested in transitioning to plant-based eating should do it with the guidance of a registered dietitian, to ensure the diet is balanced and meets all the nutritional requirements. Consuming a nutrient-dense vegan diet that includes a variety of foods is an excellent way to improve health markers and lower the risk for disease. However, supplementation can provide a baseline for those starting on their vegan journey, helping them avoid nutrient gaps and potential risks associated with a vitamin or mineral deficiency.

Ann Carrington’s artwork via Dreweatts for use by 360 Magazine

DREWEATTS × ANN CARRINGTON

Dreweatts is delighted to announce that it will be holding a charity auction in conjunction with celebrated contemporary artist Ann Carrington, to raise funds for Royal charity ‘The Queen Mother’s Clothing Guild’. For the auction, the artist has offered a unique work titled Pearly Queen of St. James’s Palace, a large-scale piece encapsulating the well-recognised image of a first-class postage stamp.  The work is in white and natural acrylic and features pearl buttons hand-sewn by the artist onto a black canvas. It sits in a Perspex box frame and is estimated to fetch £10,000-£25,000 when it goes under the hammer in a public auction at wwww.dreweatts.comfrom November 1st – 22nd, 2022.

Commenting on this unique charity auction, the Guild’s Patron since 2003, HRH Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy, said: “I am very proud to be associated with the Queen Mother’s Clothing Guild as it celebrates the great achievement of 140 years of helping those in need. The Queen Mother’s Clothing Guild is so grateful to artist Ann Carrington for creating and donating this unique piece for auction, the proceeds of which will contribute significantly to the vital work of the Charity to provide more new clothing and bedding to those in need across the UK.”

On donating the work, contemporary artist Ann Carrington said: “I am very proud to have made this special Pearly Queen artwork for the 140th anniversary of the Queen Mother’s Clothing Guild. Hand-sewn from thousands of pearl buttons, each button represents the volunteer sewers and knitters whose hand-made contributions since 1882 have enabled the charity to grow and flourish. The iconic Queen image is symbolic of the Royal Patronage received by the Guild”.

Commenting on this unique sale, Will Richards, Deputy Chairman of Dreweatts, said: “Dreweatts are honoured and proud to be supporting the Queen Mothers Clothing Guild, one the UK’s longest established charities. Ann Carrington has created the unique Pearly Queen of St. James’s Palace, to represent the fact that the Guild was founded in 1882 when the Penny Black was in circulation. The auctioning of this generous gift by this internationally renowned artist, will help raise important funds for the Guild whose work, especially now, is critical to so many.”

The artwork is one of only 23 of its’ kind made by the artist, with the first one being snapped up by Jacob Rothschild for the Rothschild collection. One of the works was commissioned by Her Majesty the Queen, with her version being produced in red and gold. It was commissioned to accompany a banner also made by Carrington for Her Majesty’s Golden Jubilee.  Other owners of works from this series include Elton John, Lulu Guinness and fashion designer Paul Smith, who all purchased them for their private collections. Carrington is also the only fine artist to hold a license from Royal Mail to produce artworks in the form of the postage stamp!

The sale offers the opportunity to bid for a unique work by the award-winning artist, as each from this series is totally unique. Every head and shoulders image of the Queen is drawn out separately, then sewn with buttons that fit that specific work, which means that all of the buttons are applied in a different way. Colours are also changed depending on the particular piece. The works in this group are all named after different areas of London that Carrington has lived or has special memories of and this particular piece carries the title of the Pearly Queen of St. James’s Palace due to its’ link to the charity.

Ann’s work has become increasingly popular in recent years, with commissions around the globe for private collections, such as; HRH, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, HRH Prince Charles, The Duke of Westminster, Gwyneth Paltrow, Issey Miyake and Gordon Ramsay, amongst others. Her work is also held in many public and company collections including: The Victoria and Albert Museum, The United Nations, The Royal College of Art, The Design Museum, London, The Thames Diamond Jubilee Foundation and The Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, The National Trust, The Commonwealth Institute, Citibank, Waldorf Astoria, W Hotels, DAKS, Dunhill, Agent Provocateur and London’s fashionable Chiltern Firehouse.

The originality of her oeuvre is in the creative use of use of abandoned every-day items which are repurposed, as well as the use of multiples of objects to create pattern and interest, which is central to her function as an artist.  She explains that “all objects are saturated with cultural meaning which, as an artist, I seek to explore, unravel and investigate. Mundane objects such as knives and forks, barbed wire, pins and paintbrushes come with their own ready-made histories and associations, which can be unravelled and analysed if rearranged, distorted or realigned to give them new meaning as sculpture”.

It is being donated by Carrington to raise funds for the Royal charity set up in 1882 by Lady Wolverton, whose friend Princess Mary Adelaide of Teck (mother of the future Queen Mary) became the Guild’s first Royal patron. In 1897 her daughter, the Duchess of York (the future Queen Mary) became the patron, having helped her mother with the charity since childhood. It has remained under Royal patronage to date, having been renamed several times, including in 1910 when Queen Mary (on becoming Queen Consort) renamed the charity ‘Queen Mary’s Needlework Guild’ and in 1914 established St James’s Palace as its’ headquarters.

The charity, which makes, sources and buys new clothing, sleeping bags, bedding and towels to give to British charities (such as babies and children in hospital, the homeless and refugees, the elderly and people in hospices and women and children in refuges), still receives, sorts and distributes the clothing and bedding at St James’s Palace today. Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother served as their patron for almost fifty years (from 1953 until 2002). It was renamed again in 2010 as The Queen Mother’s Clothing Guild, its’ title today, as a tribute to her.

Speaking from The Queen Mother’s Clothing Guild, Hadley Denny explains: “The Queen Mother’s Clothing Guild is one of the UK’s oldest charities and from its’ foundation in 1882 its’ purpose has been to support those most in need. We respond to charities across the UK for clothing and bedding items that they have difficulty sourcing or funding themselves. We know that a gift of new clothing or bedding provides warmth and comfort, helping restore dignity and self-respect. Over the year The Queen Mother’s Clothing Guild fundraises in order to source and purchase large amounts of clothing and bedding and our many supporters and volunteers also lovingly hand make thousands of hats, gloves, scarves, clothes and blankets. Every autumn, as we have done for over 100 years, we hold an event at St James’s Palace in London, where we sort, count and pack all of the clothing and bedding, ready for collection by the various charities. Distributing in autumn works well for many charities as their needs are greatest in the winter months. We hope this generous donation of a stunning work by Ann Carrington will help towards our central goal, to help as many people as possible.”

TERRORIZES THE STREETS OF NEW YORK IN ANIME-MEETS-REALITY MUSIC VIDEO  WATCH

Up next in his string of deviant from the mainstream releases, French producer turned rock emblem Tobias Dray today releases FUK IT with an equally as angsty official video. After watching fans voraciously open the pit to this song night after night on his sold-out headline tour of Europe and Canada this summer, Dray was straining at the leash to get this song out into the ether. FUK IT is now available on all DSPs stream the official video HERE.

Today’s single is nothing short of a middle finger to societal constraints. With lyrics like, If I wanna dance, I do it / If I wanna scream, I do it/ If I make a scene, I do listeners are brought into how little Dray cares if anyone has something to say about how he chooses to express himself.

In the official video directed by Martin Klapperbein, we see Dray take on the role of a disgruntled businessman who has been pushed past his brink by his boss. Trashing his office and then evolving into an anime style Joker-esque villain, he takes to the streets of New York for an overly animated, disorienting whirlwind of a breakdown. This descent into madness matches the manic energy of the track. From how the video was publicly filmed, you can tell that Dray truly doesn’t care at all what people think of him.

On the single, Dray said, “I wanted to create myself as a character who goes nuts, and is too tired from overthinking and taking care of stuff that doesn’t matter.”

Earlier this year, Dray released the cinematic Bottle of Bombay and the bass-driven world of Espada Primo. These two releases, along with today’s, are heavily influenced by his affinity for anime. This year’s releases have been met with praise from the likes of Consequence, The FADER and EUPHORIA, and he’s only getting started.

ABOUT TOBIAS DRAY

At only 25 years old, Tobias Dray already has a decade in the music industry under his belt. A well-polished producer turned recording artist, the French musician is an agitator of what the indie-electronic genre typically entails. Having lived in Paris, London, Toronto, and soon heading to New York, Dray’s music has a depth that could only be crafted by someone prone to open-minded experimentation across the globe.

Dray recognizes the role of a musician as a savvy marketer of their own brand and has built an online army of supporters, from millions of followers on TikTok, to his Spotify listenership that is quickly closing in on 1 million people monthly. His music has received early nods from Spotify, winning him coveted positions on the covers of the Lorem and Fresh Finds playlists. His most streamed track to date HMU has garnered over 11 million streams on Spotify alone. Earlier this summer, Dray set out on a sold-out headline tour of Europe and Canada in support of his latest releases. The rest of this year will see an influx of new releases as the artist continues to push the envelope.
