Which NBA players are making the most money off endorsements?

Many NBA players earn big money on court with lucrative contracts paying in the millions of dollars a year. But most court stars earn the bulk of their dollars through even more lucrative endorsement deals.

In 2020, Rookie LaMelo Ball was drafted 3rd overall by the Charlotte Hornets and inked a $35.5 million that will span four years. That salary pales into insignificance however, when you compared to his $100 million shoe deal with Puma.

The better the player, or in terms of LaMelo, the brighter their future, the bigger the level of endorsement. Add to that fierce competition amongst brands to be associated with these superstars and you have a perfect storm of dollars.

With Puma, Under Armour, Adidas, Nike, Reebok and more, battling for the public’s hard-earned money, the winners are the athletes paid to wear their brand. So, what are the biggest endorsement deals in the NBA?

The NBA’s biggest ever endorsements

Lebron James

Considered to be one of the greatest athletes to ever grace the NBA or professional sport, Lebron James is always going to be on this list. A No. 1 overall draft pick straight out of high school he became a millionaire through endorsement offers.

Aged 18, Lebron turned down $10 million from Reebok to not meet with Nike and Adidas. The footwear giant snapped him up and in 2015 rewarded him with a $1 Billion lifetime deal – thought to be the largest Nike endorsement deal in history.

Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry earns $34.9 million with Golden State Warriors but that figure is exceeded by his estimated endorsement income of $42 million. American sportswear company Under Armour used Curry as its entry into the basketball market when it signed him in 2013.

Curry has gone on to win a pair of NBA MVP awards and three NBA titles, proving a sound investment, and this season the Warriors are amongst the favorites for the playoffs according to the latest NBA playoffs odds, so he’s clearly value for money. His endorsement deal with Under Armour is the fourth-highest endorsement deal of any athlete globally, and makes him one of the highest endorsed athletes of all time.

His deal runs to 2024 and it’s believed he also retains equity in the company, potentially boosting his income even higher.

If Curry can lead his team to the Larry O’Brien Trophy for the fourth time in eight seasons, his endorsement earnings will rise even further.

Zion Williamson

After leaving Duke, Williamson signed a mega shoe and apparel deal with Nike’s Jordan Brand for a reported $13 million per year. Deals with Gatorade, 2K, Panini, and others have further boosted Williamson’s earnings to an estimated $20 million a year.

College basketball’s most outstanding player was snapped up by Nike after a bidding war with Adidas and Puma. One of the most popular NBA players on Instagram, Williamson has over 4.8 million followers on the social media platform, further enhancing his value.

Michael Jordan

No list about the NBA is complete without the name of Michael Jordan. Just because he hasn’t stepped foot on a court 2003, doesn’t mean he isn’t still a highly attractive endorsement proposition for companies.

One of the first companies in the world to realize the benefits of sponsoring athletes was Nike. They struck a unique deal with the athlete, allowing him the chance to design and create his own shoes which were called Air Jordan.

The brand became one of the most popular shoes of all time and is widely regarded as being the deal that powered Nike into a truly global brand. Despite ending his career nearly 20 years ago, Jordan earns more than $100 million a year through his Nike endorsement.

Dwayne Wade

One of the biggest basketball endorsement deals of all time was Dwayne Wade’s deal with Li-Ning, the Chinese shoe company. Wade was previously with Nike, but when his contract came up for renewal an offer of $12 million a year saw him put pen to paper.

Wade spent most of his 16-year NBA career with Miami Heat and is a 3 x NBA Champion and a 13 x NBA All-Star. He continues to work with the Chinese footwear manufacturer, despite retiring in 2019.

Kevin Durant

The Brooklyn Nets superstar, Kevin Durant knows how to make money, with multiple endorsements and investments to his name. He has a lucrative deal with Foot Locker that earns him millions of dollars every year and another with Nike.

Durant signed a $285 million deal with Nike in 2014 that runs for 10 years. The contract also allows his earning to rise even further based on profit sharing and other factors.

Saturday April 16th sees the start of the 2022 NBA playoffs, with the Conference Finals due to take place across May 17th-18th. The NBA Finals Game 1 will take place on June 2nd and game 7 is scheduled for June 19th.

Whoever comes out on top will be more than a NBA Champion, they will be prime targets for some lucrative endorsement deals.

How CBD Helps Your Overall Wellbeing

When it comes to our health and wellbeing, most of us try to do what we can to avoid issues. However, sometimes you need to do more than this – you need to be proactive and take steps to protect and maintain good health and wellbeing rather than waiting for problems to arise. The good news is that there are products, including natural solutions, that can help you to do this, and this includes the wide range of CBD products on the market these days.

More and more people have been turning to CBD products over recent years, and this is because they have proven so effective in so many ways. You can choose from all sorts of products, and they can help with all sorts of things. For instance, you can get CBD drops for anxiety or CBD gummies for sleep, to name but a few. By choosing the right product for your needs, you can improve your health and wellbeing in a variety of ways, some of which we will look at in this article.

Some of the Benefits

There are numerous benefits that come with using these products, and they can make a huge positive difference in terms of overall wellbeing. Some of the ways in which they can help are:

You Get Proper Rest

One of the key things that can have a huge impact on your overall wellbeing is the amount and quality of sleep that you get. Some people struggle to get enough proper sleep, and their live quality suffers in many ways as a result. By boosting serotonin levels, CBD can help to ensure you get proper sleep on a regular basis. In addition to this, it can help you to relax more, and this means you are less likely to struggle when it comes to switching off and unwinding. This is also important when it comes to your overall health and wellbeing.

Anxiety Is Reduced

Another way in which CBD can help to improve your overall wellbeing is by reducing the symptoms of anxiety and helping you to manage this condition. When you suffer from anxiety, it can affect all aspects of your life and wellbeing, so you should take action sooner rather than later. CBD has proven extremely effective in tackling anxiety symptoms, and this is why many people use CBD products to help them with their anxiety.

Mood Is Improved

Many people experience a low mood now and again, and some suffer more than others. If low moods affect your life, you do not just have to learn to live with it. Instead, you can turn to CBD, which helps to lift your mood by boosting serotonin levels. Again, this is something that will improve your mood and have a positive impact on your overall wellbeing and life quality, so it can make a significant difference to you.

These are some of the ways in which CBD can help to improve your overall wellbeing as well as your life quality.

What is GGPoker’s Good Game Series?

Meta: What is GGPoker’s Good Game Series and is it something that might interest you? We took a closer look at what this tournament offers here.

GGPoker is a fantastic place to go if you want to find out all you can about the world of poker. The ggpoker.co.uk blog is an extensive resource for recaps of events and which ones are coming up. Also, whether it is a chance to gain some tournament experience or just a quick and casual game, they have it all. One event that every new poker player should look out for is the Good Game Series. What is this, and will we see it coming back round in 2022? Let’s take a closer look.

What is the Good Game Series?

The Good Game Series is an annual tournament held by GG Poker. It is usually held a short while after the WSOP Online, but timings can always change and move about – since online tournaments are able to be a little more flexible than ones that need venues booking out.

What makes the Good Game Series so different from all the other tournaments that GGPoker and other operators run? The buy-ins for this particular event are deliberately kept as low as possible. They will always be under $50, but they could be as low as $10 depending on the game you play! This is a great way for even novice players to buy their way into a tournament and begin to compete to see if they like a tournament format.

What is a Buy-in?

Buy-ins are a key part of any poker game. This is the fee that you need to pay upfront to be able to play the game. How much you pay will always vary depending on the game. Some, like the Good Game Series, might have a low buy-in rate of $50 or less. Bigger, high roller games might have buy-ins in the thousands.

The buy-ins of all players are added up and create the prize pot for the game. If you see a game advertised as having a “guaranteed” jackpot, this means that it will always have a threshold regardless of whether or not the number of players and their buy-ins meets that total. So, a poker game with a guaranteed prize pot of $1M will always offer $1M, even if it does not attract enough players and buy-ins to meet this initial threshold.

Why are Low Buy-ins Important?

So, if poker sites and tournament organisers need buy-in to reach the threshold for the prize, is it worth it to hold games with low buy-ins? Yes, these are incredibly important games. For many, they might be the very first tournament that they try out.

After all, you might not want to put down a buy-in of several hundred or even a thousand if you have very little or no tournament experience. There is more of a chance of a loss here. Low buy-in games are less of a risk for their players, while also still providing some great chances to scoop up a life-changing prize. If you want to try out an online tournament for the first time – or maybe you want to try a new poker variation like Omaha – you should take a look at what a low buy-in game is able to offer.

The Good Game Series is something that many players might be interested in regardless of their own skill in poker. These are great games for those who want to get a little tournament experience, but don’t think that they are purely for beginners. The Good Game Series offers opportunities for players of all skill levels. No matter where you stand, you should be able to get a great game or two from it if you choose to buy into a few games.

Neneh Cherry Buffalo Stance Artwork via Republic Records for use by 360 Magazine

Robyn × Mapei – Buffalo Stance

Neneh Cherry graced us with “Buffalo Stance” in the late 80s, a generation-defining song about inner city life that turned music on its head. Paired with her ferocious energy and a punk attitude like no other, the genre-defying track dominated the world, reaching No.3 in the UK and the US, where it went Gold. It took the No.1 spot in Neneh’s native Sweden and The Netherlands plus Top 5 in Belgium, Canada, Finland, Greece, Norway, Switzerland and more. “Buffalo Stance” switched up the game not only in music but in culture and fashion too and we’ve not looked back since, until now via Republic Records

An artist that’s ever evolving, exploring and collaborating, Neneh hands the creative reins over to long-time friend, one of pop’s treasured musical geniuses and woman behind some of the most memorable songs of recent decades, Robyn, for a new version of her seminal track. It’s the first single from the Grammy-nominated artist since the release of her acclaimed album Honey, and is the product of one Swedish icon passing the baton on to another. In true Robyn fashion, “Buffalo Stance” has been transformed into a slinky, scandipop song—slowed down and stripped back with electronic shimmers and layered vocals. It’s an intoxicating re-imagining. Robyn also enlists polymath musician Dev Hynes to add his special touch on the production and Mapei for a fresh take of iconic rap. Listen to “Buffalo Stance” HERE.

Neneh says: “I love that I could write an essay with all the things I could say about Robyn and I love that she leaves me speechless at the same time. Her talent is soulful because she leads with her heart and spirit. She is absolutely there, ever present with honest intensity in her offerings which leave me blubbering with hairs standing erect on my arms and legs, dancing on my own, talking to myself, with a feeling that everything is going to be alright. The first time I saw Robyn live in Stockholm with my daughter Mabel (then a young struggling teenager) she only said two things that night: ‘Hej Stockholm’ and in the middle of a song shouted out ‘MABEL!’”…she stole my heart. I’ve known Robyn for 3 decades, she is my sister, my friend, my family, a creative inspiration. So to have Robyn doing her version of a new life interpretation of ‘Buffalo Stance’ is an absolute honor…and with Dev Hynes and Mapei, this is what dreams are made of!”

Robyn‘s new take on “Buffalo Stance” marks the start of an exciting new chapter for Neneh and is the first release from a forthcoming collaboration album out later this year.

Last night, Neneh Cherry received the honorary Icon Award at the NME Awards 2022, following previous winners Courtney Love and Shirley Manson, in celebration of her continual contribution to music and unmatched individuality over the past three decades. The award was presented to her by UK top 10 charting artist, BRIT Award winner and Neneh‘s daughter, Mabel, an iconic moment within itself.

Neneh Cherry has continued to define and redefine culture, style and music, releasing five studio albums, including 2018’s Broken Politics, produced by Four Tet, which was met with critical acclaim by the likes of The Guardian, Rolling Stone, The Times, Q, and Pitchfork. 2020 saw her reissue her radically influential debut album Raw Like Sushi to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

Must-See Exhibits and Installations

Keith Brammer (Die Kreuzen) leather jacket: Perhaps no other genre of music is so closely associated with the classic black leather jacket than punk rock. Keith Brammer, of Milwaukee’s hardcore punk band Die Kreuzen, has graciously lent his well-worn leather to the H-D Museum. The jacket was purchased in New York City in the 1980s and was a constant companion for Brammer throughout his touring days. Check out the Custom Culture gallery to view this piece of Milwaukee music history.

Inspiration and Recovery: Wounded Veteran Climbs the Seven Summits: In September 2009, Specialist Benjamin Breckheimer, a Cavalry Scout with the U.S. Army 2nd Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, was severely wounded during a tour in Afghanistan. His rehabilitation was difficult as he endured numerous surgeries. During this same time, the Harley-Davidson Museum regularly sent care packages–including H-D Museum™ flags dotted with well wishes–to active-duty military personnel. Breckheimer took to mountaineering during his recovery and over the summer carried the H-D Museum™ flag to the summit of Denali, the highest point in North America. With that peak reached, Breckheimer became the first and only Purple Heart recipient to reach all the Seven Summits, the highest peaks on each of the seven continents. He continues to climb, and he shares his inspiring story to encourage resiliency and support the mental health of veterans and current service members.

Revolution® Max Engine: The brand-new Revolution® Max 1250cc engine powers a new generation of Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. See the liquid-cooled, 60-degree V-Twin that delivers for the Pan America™ adventure touring model and the performance cruiser Sportster® S motorcycle. On view in the Museum lobby.

Clubs & Competition: In the early part of the 20th century, motorcycle culture was a homegrown phenomenon. It grew out of the passion of riders for their evolving sport. The camaraderie that developed around riding and attending competitive events led to the formation of motorcycle clubs that hosted destination rides, family picnics with motorcycle games and other riding competitions.

Harley Fox: Gail Anderson’s 1986 Softail® Custom motorcycle, “Harley Fox,” built by her partner Bob Burrows, took top prize at the first Ladies of Harley® (LOH) ride-in show during Daytona Beach Bike Week in 1987. With her custom bike and themed riding gear, Anderson presented a striking image that fit the growing visibility and exciting new options for women riders in the 1980s.

Alfonso Sotomayor’s 1957 Model FL: The Harley-Davidson Museum is proud to announce its collection has recently grown with the addition of a 1957 Model FL that was ridden by famed Mexican stunt rider and racer Alfonso Sotomayor Canales.

Harley-Davidson’s history in Mexico dates back to at least 1913. In the 1920s, the brand was more frequently spotted throughout Mexico City as the motorcycles proved popular with the local traffic police who would also perform stunts with their Harley-Davidson® bikes. After racing from the 1930s into the 1960s, Sotomayor launched his own stunt riding career by performing the famed “Salto de la Muerte” or Jump of Death. Learn more about Sotomayor’s feats of derring-do and Harley-Davidson’s early entry into Mexico with this new display located in the Custom Culture area.

“Off-Road Harley-Davidson”: In the decades before America paved its highways, early riders had to be prepared for all sorts of terrain: sand, clay or dirt—and wandering those makeshift byways were Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. It’s called off-road or adventure touring; back then it was just called riding. Since 1903, Harley-Davidson motorcycles proved their toughness by riding over wooded hills, through stone-choked creek beds and up mountain sides. “Off-Road Harley-Davidson” tells the history of motorcycles designed for rough roads, the people who rode them and the adventures they shared.

“Building a Milwaukee Icon: Harley-Davidson’s Juneau Avenue Factory”: A recently recovered cache of architectural drawings includes plans for the original Juneau Avenue facility. The pencil drawings, along with archival photographs, demonstrate the whirlwind pace of the company’s early growth. While building an international business—going from producing just over 1,000 motorcycles in 1909 to manufacturing 27,000 motorcycles in 1920—the company’s Milwaukee factory experienced near-constant expansion. Construction through this relatively brief period created the buildings that today, a century later, are still the proud home of Harley-Davidson.

“Building a Milwaukee Icon” provides a snapshot of Harley-Davidson’s formative years and illustrates a chapter of Milwaukee history when the city was known as the “Machine Shop to the World.”

On April 29th, BabyJake will drop an Urban Outfitters exclusive vinyl of The Sun Wakes Up Earlier Now—fans can pre-order the LP now HERE.

About BabyJake

BabyJake promises he’s “bringing back rock ‘n’ roll.” However, this isn’t your parents’ rock ‘n’ roll. It’s got all of the style, swagger, and spirit of the seventies, but it’s lit up by a fresh fire. The Florida-born and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and producer exudes enough star power to pull off a cowboy hat and flare jeans, but he’s also a byproduct of the times with a natural predilection for viral impact.
