SCHLITTERBAHN WATERPARKS

Schlitterbahn New Braunfels Waterpark is the #1 Waterpark in the World for the last 19 Years.

Located on the banks of the spring fed Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas, Schlitterbahn’s flagship waterpark has 51 attractions on over 70 acres. Family-owned and operated, Schlitterbahn provides a staggering variety and miles of river rides, waterslides, and adventures from mild to wild.

Waterpark Location: 400 North Liberty Avenue, New Braunfels, Texas 78130

The Resort at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is open year-round. Guests can enjoy the family excitement and convenience of a resort and waterpark during the summer and the beauty of a Hill Country Getaway year-round. With hotel rooms, one and two bedroom suites, Riverbend Cabins, Treehaus Luxury Suites, and vacation homes, The Resort at Schlitterbahn has a wide range of accommodations for any type of vacation.
Four Adventures – One Waterpark

The Original Schlitterbahn: Home to the signature Schlitterbahn Castle, this section of the park uses springfed water from the Comal River. Nestled beneath a beautiful canopy of trees, this section of the park has eight tube chutes, seven kids’ play areas, a wave pool, and swim up bars with heated pools. On the wild side: the Down Hill Racer and the Soda Straws. On the mild side: the Raging River and the Congo River Expedition.
Surfenburg: Named for the world’s first surfing wave invented 26 years ago, the Boogie Bahn, Surfenburg is also home to the first uphill water coaster, The Dragon’s Revenge – invented 22 years ago. Also in Surfenburg: the Kristal River which circles Squirt’n Sliden, a giant kids’ play area.

Blastenhoff turns 21!: The most award-winning attraction in Schlitterbahn history, the Master Blaster, turns 21 in 2017. Using patented water injection technology, the Master Blaster starts at the top of a six story tower in Blastenhoff. (Two other rides also take off from the same tower.) Surrounding the “Blast Tower” is the Torrent Wave River – also invented 21 years ago – which combines an endless river with a wave pool for unlimited fun.

Tubenbach: Tubenbach features The Falls, the world’s longest tubing adventure. The Tubenbach area features several no-wait attractions and beaches allowing park guests to enjoy the rides without standing in line. Also, several of the Tubenbach attractions are interconnected through an innovative Transportainment® river, which allows guests to float their way throughout the Tubenbach area.

Overall, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels has four times the rides and attractions of any waterpark within 200 miles, and twice the number of attractions of any waterpark within 500 miles. Our naturally landscaped park with hundred-year-old oak, cedar, and cypress trees creates a completely different experience from the typical “hard-scaped” waterparks. We call those old school parks “cement, stairs, and slides” versus Schlitterbahn’s rivers, trees, and rides.

Green Schlitterbahn

Schlitterbahn’s commitment to the environment is long standing. From the way the original park was designed to flow among trees, to the commitment to water conservation (98% of the water is recycled through filtration), to maintaining recycling containers throughout the parks, Schlitterbahn believes in sustainability. The development team, which builds our new parks and attractions at Schlitterbahn, constantly looks for ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Premium Cabanas

Schlitterbahn has expanded the number of available cabanas to include everything from BBQ palapas to super-sized cabanas suitable for ten people to share. Luxury cabanas with mini-fridges and TVs were successfully launched summer of 2015.

Operating Hours

Schedule: Schlitterbahn New Braunfels Waterpark is open for Spring Break March 11-19, 2017 (only our Blastenhoff area), then open weekends beginning April 14, 2017 and daily beginning May 12, 2017 to August 27, 2017. The park returns to weekend operation September 2-17, 2017. Park hours vary throughout the season as does attraction availability. Online Schedule

Lodging Year Round: Schlitterbahn has a wide variety of resort accommodations open year-round. Admission to the waterpark for resort guests is included as a Splash, Sleep, Repeat Package while the waterpark is in operation.

Free Parking and Picnics: At Schlitterbahn parking is free for everyone. Schlitterbahn guests can bring a picnic from home (no glass or alcohol please). There is no charge for tubes, life vests or boogie boards.

Awards

The unique character of the park has led amusement park fans to vote Schlitterbahn New Braunfels the “World’s Best Waterpark” nineteen years in a row. The park’s six-story Master Blaster® Uphill Water Coaster has been voted the “World’s Best Waterpark Ride” repeatedly. The park also won the “World’s Best New Waterpark Ride” Award for four years for; the Dragon’s Revenge Water Coaster (2008), the Congo River Expedition, a heavily themed jungle ride (2009), and most recently The Falls, the world’s longest tubing adventure (2011).

History

Schlitterbahn, which means “slippery road” in German, was opened in 1979 by the Henry family with four water slides starting from a German-style tower. The tower was patterned after the Bergfried Guard Tower at Solms Castle in Braunfels, Germany – home of the original settlers of New Braunfels. The Henry family added the tower and the slides on a hill next to their resort, known back then as the Landa Resort. The family has continued to innovate, creating new ways to have fun with water that are imitated throughout the industry. More History

PRINCE

The Prince Estate, alongside Pantone Color Institute™, the global color authority, announced today the creation of a standardized custom color to represent and honor international icon, Prince. The (naturally) purple hue, represented by his “Love Symbol #2” was inspired by his custom-made Yamaha purple piano, which was originally scheduled to go on tour with the performer before his untimely passing at the age of 57. The color pays tribute to Prince’s indelible mark on music, art, fashion and culture. The announcement was first made on Refinery29, read here

Prince’s association with the color purple was galvanized in 1984 with the release of the film Purple Rain, along with its Academy Award-winning soundtrack featuring the eponymous song. While the spectrum of the color purple will still be used in respect to the “Purple One,” Love Symbol #2, will be the official color across the brand he left behind.

“The color purple was synonymous with who Prince was and will always be. This is an incredible way for his legacy to live on forever,” said Troy Carter, Entertainment Advisor to Prince’s Estate.

The ‘Purple One’ made a statement and challenged cultural norms through both his well-known music and personal style. In addition to the Oscar, Prince won seven Grammy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for Purple Rain. Both “Purple Rain” and “1999” were entered into the Grammy Hall of Fame, and Prince was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, the very first year he was eligible.

Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute said: “We are honored to have worked on the development of Love Symbol #2, a distinctive new purple shade created in memory of Prince, ‘the purple one.’ A musical icon known for his artistic brilliance, Love Symbol #2 is emblematic of Prince’s distinctive style. Long associated with the purple family, Love Symbol #2 enables Prince’s unique purple shade to be consistently replicated and maintain the same iconic status as the man himself.”

The Estate is in conversation with various partners about collaboration on products that incorporate the custom color.

Multi-platinum recording artist, DEV is set to release her sophomore album, I Only See You When I’m Dreamin’ (IOSYWID) September 8, which is available for pre-order now HERE! Fans who pre-order the album will receive two new songs, the sassy-sweet “All I Wanna Do,” and the female anthem “Come At Me.” This will mark DEV’s first album to be released simultaneously to retail and streaming platforms. With a crew of collaborators that include Sarah Hudson (Katy Perry, Halsey, Rita Ora), MNDR, Marko Penn and producers Sam Sumser, Ritual, Isaac Valens and Mike Mac, the album finds Dev reclaiming her bass-heavy hip-pop beats that shot her to chart stardom, but with a reinvigorated sense of singer-songwriter swagger.

“All I Wanna Do” prompts the familiar Dev-like bounce, while lyrically the track ventures into Minaj-worthy raunch, but it’s Dev’s vocals and harmonies that shine through the sass. “The balance of how bouncy it is, but with how sexy and girly the lyrics and melody are fit really well,” Dev says of the track. “Usually a lot of male driven songs will usually be like ‘I wanna F you!’ so this will be so fun to perform from my point of view.”

The additional release, “Come at Me” is somewhat of a yin to “All I Wanna Do”’s yang. Lyrically, Dev urges a “don’t-take-any-BS” attitude over a highly catchy melody.

In it’s entirety, IOSYWID, serves as ode to Dev’s past—the good, the bad, the fun and the sad. Inspired by dreams and thoughts about those who she has since lost touch with, the vibe of the album radiates a theme of self-reflection from her current perspective. Dev takes listeners on a full-circle journey from late night sexting (“Drunk Texting”) to the piano laden heartbreak of (“Alone Again”).

This full length album follows Dev’s break-out 2012 debut album, The Night the Sun Came Up, which features the platinum “In the Dark,” and landed her critical acclaim, spots on influential end-of-year lists, numerous brand syncs and commercial success. In 2013 and 2014 she released two complimenting EPs, Bittersweet July Part I and Bittersweet July Part II. 2016 saw the release and success of “#1” f/ Nef the Pharoah, which peaked at #15 on the rhythmic radio chart. With over 350M video views, a Billboard #1 hit, multi-platinum & gold certified song successes, and countless collaborations, IOSYWID promises to continue to propel Dev as the sleek, speak-sing pop pioneer of her generation.

CAPITOL RECORDS WELCOMES FELIX CARTAL TO LABEL

“Get What You Give” Remixes Out Today

Single Topped Hype Machine’s “Popular Now” Chart

“[a] feel-good adaptation of the 1998 [New Radicals] single, which seamlessly rises above traditional conventions of genre and format.” – Dancing Astronaut

Felix Cartal - GWYG Remix Artwork.jpg

Capitol Records has signed Felix Cartal in the U.S. The JUNO-nominated artist has won praise for his glistening version of the 1998 New Radicals hit, “Get What You Give,” coming on the heels of the success of such original songs as “Drifting Away,” “Falling Down” and his collaboration with Kaskade, “Fakin It.” Cartal’s official remixes of Kiiara’s “Feels,” Wafia’s “Heartburn” and Selena Gomez’s “Kill Em With Kindness” have topped The Hype Machine charts.

“Get What You Give” Remixes (Capitol Records), which includes remixes by DLMT & Vanrip, Bobby Love, Ship Wrek & Part Native and Billon, was released today. The four-track collection is available for download and streaming HERE.

Spotify streams of “Get What You Give” have surpassed eight million and the track has ranked in the top 15 of Spotify’s viral chart in five countries. It topped The Hype Machine Popular Now chart, was the #1 most-played track on SiriusXM Chill and climbed into the top five of the Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart. Beats 1’s Anna Lunoe was an early fan and everyone from Sam Feldt and R3HAB to Martin Garrix and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have supported on the DJ front. Dancing Astronaut, YOUREDM and Billboard all concurred, hailing “Get What You Give” as a “feel-good” hit.

“This song has been important to me ever since I heard it. It’s one of those songs that feels familiar the first time you hear it, the soundtrack to your life that you didn’t know you were missing,” says Felix Cartal.”At first, I was tentative to put my own take on it, do you really touch a classic? But I kept thinking about this song nearly 20 years after it came out and…I had to try. The lyrics actually seem more relevant as I get older, almost a 90’s take on The Beatles’ ‘and in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make.’ If I can showcase how important they were to me in a new format to the next generation, then I’ll feel like it was worth it.”

The Vancouver, BC native has gone from playing bass in high school punk rock bands to being nominated for a JUNO and performing at some of the world’s biggest music festivals. Never content to repeat himself, Cartal’s artistic evolution has resulted in a unique take on indie dance music, defined by beautiful vocals and driving bass. “Fakin It,” his original collaboration with Kaskade, showcased his songwriting prowess and solidified him among the biggest names of the North American electronic music scene. Cartal dropped the anthemic “Drifting Away” and the club-ready “Falling Down,” in late 2016, again topping the charts. With the release of “Get What You Give” and his remix of Galantis’ “Rich Boy,” he continues to push his sound in new directions.
