Vaughn Hebron QxA

The Oval,” the hit BET show from Tyler Perry, will return to homes for its second season in Oct., and Vaughn Hebron is front and center.

Playing Barry, a man whose daughter was kidnapped by his ex-girlfriend, Hebron finds himself in the middle of a show about an interracial family living in the White House. Perfect on the outside but full of lies on the inside, the family brings some of the best drama to television.

Hebron was born in Baltimore and attended Pennsylvania’s Lafayette College on a Division 1 football scholarship. At Lafayette College, he joined Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and eventually graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Business and minor in Africana Studies.

He began a career in pharmaceuticals but eventually moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Early on he booked commercials, and he’ll appear in the Will Smith-led “King Richard” in 2021.

Hebron answered a few questions for 360 MAGAZINE regarding “The Oval,” the entertainment industry and his future.

360: Tell us about “The Oval” and your character and what we can look forward to in season 2.

Hebron: “The Oval” is a Tyler Perry soap, set in the White House, that centers around the First Family and their staff. Well, at least it did in the first season. The series has expanded and plunged into the personal and dramatic lives of each individual and is now a whirlwind of dramatics and juicy story lines. I play Barry Hallsen on the show, the son of the White House Head Butler. Barry is a young man in his early 20s trying to establish himself while providing for his daughter, Callie. In the first season, he faces extreme challenges in and out of the White House, namely having his daughter kidnapped by his baby mother, Ruth, who is part of a vicious cult. The first season follows his journey to finding his daughter and the many problems he creates for himself in doing so. What viewers can look forward to in the second season is Barry getting closer to finding his daughter but also getting closer to the imminent danger that surrounds her.

360: Before you became an actor, you were in pharmaceutical sales. How was the transition, and are you excited about the career change?

Hebron: The transition was a big adjustment, going from a steady, regular paycheck and working every day to not knowing when the next time I’ll be working but still getting paid for it. Basically, I had to start all over from square one and figure things out each step of the way. It was intimidating and uncertain, but it’s also been very fulfilling. It feels like I am being driven by something that I never felt in my corporate career: a new sense of purpose. The unknowingness was both scary and exciting.

360: What has been your biggest challenge thus far in the industry?

Hebron: Coming from a corporate background, I was used to a lot of structure. There were always deadlines, expectations that would be met, structured and upkept working conditions, and if there were any questions, someone there to help. There’s almost none of that in the industry. There are no set timelines on when we book jobs, no set path on how to be successful and reach a certain level in your career and no formal performance evaluations. Even asking for help could be just as bad as not asking for help. The biggest challenge for me was adjusting to this space of having to completely trust in the process and letting God take the wheel. I had to surrender to the journey and have faith that the things I was doing were going to work out the way they were meant to. I really had to believe that everything would happen for a reason. It was a complete mindset shift; a completely different life. I still struggle with it at times.

360: Where do you see your career in 5 years? 10 years?

Hebron: Well, one of the first lessons I learned in this industry is that you can’t put a timeline on things. At all. They could happen way sooner, or way later than you think, so just be open and ready when the time comes. My ultimate goal in this industry is to become an A-list storyteller. That’s the level I want to be at. However, storytelling comes in many different forms. Obviously acting is the main form of storytelling that I’m doing right now, but I’ve also written and pitched TV shows and see myself dabbing in that. I also see myself directing and producing one day as well. Additionally, I have a lot of ideas outside of the industry for my fitness and business, and of course I want to have a family one day.

360: Do you have any future projects that you’re allowed to talk about?

Hebron: Yes, I will be in the upcoming feature film “King Richard” starring Will Smith, as one of the main antagonists, hitting theaters Nov. 2021. We are working a couple other projects that are under wrap right now.

Isaac Dunbar – scorton’s creek

The video is directed by Jasper Soloff and the song, which was released last week, is written by Isaac and produced by Drew Pearson. Watch HERE. Isaac’s forthcoming EP is set to be released this spring.

E! News included Isaac in their Next-Gen of Pop article calling him an artist you need to know and he was included in Idolator’s 40 Artists To Watch In 2020. “scorton’s creek” follows Isaac’s previously released tracks “makeup drawer” which PAPER exclusively premiered the video, “isaac’s insects” where Billboard called him “the real deal”, “onion boy”  and “body” which led TIME magazine to call his voice “lovely” and stated that he has “a keen ear — and intuition — for turning pop into relatable confessions.”

About Isaac Dunbar

The 16-year-old budding artist supported girl in red on her North American and European run of show dates last fall and released his highly anticipated EP balloons don’t float here last summer. It garnered the attention of notable tastemakers like Zane LoweThe FADEROnes To Watch, and Hillydilly, which stated: “it’s only a matter of time until he gets worldwide recognition.” Hailing from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Isaac’s EP melds complex sounds and atmospheric, beat-driven production to create melodic and introspective tracks. The unique brand of distorted ballads combined with lush, multilayered dream-pop harmonies and malleable, heady synth drops creates a genre-bending EP. Isaac is looking forward to releasing his new EP under RCA Records this spring and will hit the road on his first headlining tour later this year.

HRVY – Me Because Of You

HRVY released his new single, “Me Because Of You,” and the accompanying video. The internationally renowned, Platinum-selling pop artist recorded the song in Oslo, Norway with producer Earwulf (Jason Derulo). HRVY co-wrote “Me Because Of You” with his fans in mind, crediting them for making him the artist he is today. Download / stream “Me Because Of You” HERE

The official video was helmed by filmmaker Matthias Hoene. In a nod to Hoene’s 2016 film, The Warriors Gate,  HRVY ducks into an antique shop to avoid being mugged and finds a glowing red orb that changes the direction of his life. It opens a portal to a world that, while futuristic, also evokes the joyous sense of adventure and belonging HRVY’s global travels have brought him. View “Me Because Of You” HERE.

“I’ve never felt more connected to music that I’ve created. The last couple of years have been a huge learning curve and have helped me write much more emotive songs as I’ve actually been able to experience real life events,” says HRVY. “This song is super important to me. It came from a fan’s comment on Instagram, which is mad to say that it’s now become its own song. I remember sitting on a plane on the way back from Asia and thinking of a way to represent this new music and new me. I drew a really terrible sketch on my phone of the world that me and my music lives in.“

Combined streams of HRVY’s songs now exceed one billion – with more than 250,000 streams in the U.S. alone – and he has 13 million followers across his socials. “Me Because Of You” is the follow-up to  “Million Ways.” Released in November 2019, the single amassed over one million global streams in its first week and four million video views in the first four days. Hailing “Million Ways” as “a synth-laden anthem,“ Wonderland said, “HRVY is undoubtedly one to watch.” A BBC Radio 1 Brit List artist, HRVY’s 2019 collaborations included “So Good” with Danna Paola, “I Miss Myself” with NOTD, “Don’t Need Your Love” with NCT Dream and “Younger” with Jonas Blue. His 2017 viral hit, “Personal,” has attained 12 global certifications, including Gold in the U.S. He visited over 23 countries and played to over 300,000 people last year across a European headline tour, supporting slot on The Vamps U.K. arena tour and festival performances.

How to Choose Clothes for Little Princesses

Children try to imitate adults in everything. At an early age, girls like to try on different outfits, and they want to look fashionable. The current range of products allows you choosing items that are perfect for each particular child, emphasize her personality, and form a sense of style. Every girl’s mother wants her daughter to look like a real princess. Parents need to know a lot of nuances and details in order to choose the most beautiful and convenient children’s items.

What Clothes for Girls is Considered Fashionable

The children’s fashion industry has recently been gaining tremendous momentum. In many ways, it is similar to an adult one, although, of course, dresses and skirts invariably remain favorite items of cute baby girl clothes. So, here are some modern fashion trends for girls:

  • Elegant dresses in retro style. The emphasis is on simple cut and beautiful prints.
  • Pastel and neutral colors. Such shades as khaki, burgundy are considered very fashionable this season. They not only look very stylish but also do not get too dirty.
  • Interesting prints. Drawings on clothes are very common today. Cartoon characters, flowers, unusual abstractions. It looks really very beautiful, especially if the color scheme is selected correctly.

Of course, it is important for the baby to feel comfortable in her outfit. The child’s skin is very sensitive, that’s why a kid can sometimes feel uncomfortable. Therefore, the choice of clothing for children must be approached very responsibly.

How to Choose Qualitative Clothes for a Girl

In order to buy qualitative, comfortable clothes, pay attention to the following aspects:

  • Fabric structure. Synthetics often don’t absorb sweat and cause a rash, so cotton or linen items should be bought. Synthetic materials are bad for your baby’s sensitive skin. Especially when it comes to underwear. As practice shows, clothes made from natural fabrics are much more useful for a little kid. All bodysuits, vests, romper suits and other items made from natural fabrics cause no allergies.
  • Label. A label sewn into the seam can cause allergies even on adults’ skin, so there’s nothing to say about the delicate child’s skin. Therefore, you need to buy only those items where all the information about the product is painted on fabric.
  • Comfort. Firstly, comfortable clothing fits the child, does not twist, does not constrict movements and lets your child both enjoy playing at the playground and sleep well in her bed. Secondly, comfortable clothing lets the skin breathe, as well as absorbs moisture well. You should not buy items with a bunch of buttons or laces — the simpler the clothes you can put on and take off, the better. In general, buttons and Velcro are the best fasteners to choose from.

Guided by these simple rules, it will be easy to buy good and beautiful clothes for a little girl. Don’t think that high-quality children’s clothing is expensive — it can be found at a low price. To save money without sacrificing quality, it’s suggested to shop at Trendy Toddlers. Here you can find clothes for girls for all occasions: clothing for sleeping, relaxing at home, playing sports, walking on the playground and much more.

Baby Sea Otter Reunited With Mother

Watch Video of Baby Sea Otter Reunited With its Mother in Morro Bay

Morro Bay Harbor Department Saves the Day for This Otter Family

In between cloudbursts yesterday, a baby sea otter was reunited with its mother. The baby, spotted alone by one of the community’s commercial fishermen, got assistance from the Harbor Department, the Marine Mammal Center and Mike Harris of Fish & Wildlife. The city of Morro Bay caught this video of the baby being released before swimming to its mother.

As the Harbor Department commented, “All in a day’s work.”

For the last couple years, thereߣs been an abundance of pure unadulterated cuteness going on in the seaside town due to an increase in California Sea Otter families that call Morro Bay home. Mommas and babies are everywhere eating and grooming each other as if no one is watching. But we are and we canߣt look away – they are so dang cute! Now is the perfect time to catch a glimpse of these sea creatures in their natural habitat since Morro Bay harbor is experiencing the highest count to date of these adorable critters. A survey taken last May of the Morro Bay harbor documented adult sea otters and nine pups, a significantly higher number than the typical five or fewer otters frequenting the harbor in the early 2000s.

“Large gatherings of otters throughout the harbor have attracted tourists and locals all along the waterfront to experience them in their natural habitat,” explains Jennifer Little, Executive Director of Discover Morro Bay. “You can watch along the shore or rent paddleboards and watch from a safe distance on the water as they forage for food and groom their young. They use rocks and other tools to break open crab and local food sources and are so fun to watch. We’ve seen up to 30 or 40 of them at a time floating around on their backs and enjoying life in Morro Bay.”

Just plop down a beach chair along the Morro Bay Harbor Walk and start watching – they’re everywhere and easy to find. If there isnߣt a family of otters hanging out already, they will soon appear. The southeast side of Morro Rock is a great landmark for sea otter viewing as is Coleman beach at the intersection of Embarcadero and Coleman Drive. There are also public viewing spots all along the Embarcadero for wildlife viewing in between the plethora of restaurants, boutique shops and wine bars. To get an even closer look, paddle out in a kayak or rent a boat at Bay Cruisers and Electric Boats. Visitors can also take a ride on the Lost Isle Tiki boat to see the otters and the ever-barking sea lions, which includes a quick detour to the Morro Bay natural sand spit. Kayaks can be rented at Kayak Horizons and the Kayak Shack.

Experts say what’s really driving the population increase is the abundance of food they find in the waters of Morro Bay. Sea otters are integral to the health of the Morro Bay harbor environment. When viewing otters be very careful as they are wild animals and may react poorly if approached. When viewing from the water, it’s best to stay at least five kayak lengths away at all times and enjoy them in a responsible manner.

Having Overcome Many Trials and Tribulations From Losing Her Mother at a Young Age to Being Diagnosed with a Brain Tumor and Raising A Child With Autism – Angela Shares What She Has Learned From Handling Life’s Challenges and Choosing to Move On While Staying Happy and Healthy

Being a housewife is challenging – managing a home, assisting a husband in business, and raising four children (not to mention taking care of yourself), which is the focus of the inspirational new book “Smile! Be Happy! Life Lessons From An Uncommon Housewife” by Author/Mother/Wife and Health Coach Angela LaRosa, out now via Legacy Projects.

In the books introduction, Angela states “I have wanted to write this book for a long time, but never did because I considered myself in the eyes of society to be just an ordinary woman without the fame required to appeal to the masses” continuing “But then I came to realize that this is exactly why I should do this book – because as a suburban mother of four beautiful children, a happy housewife, and someone devoted to prayer and making the world around me a more positive and loving place, I may make a difference”. And that is certainly what she has done.

In chapters from “The Basics” where she touches on topics like finding balance, prayer, faith, and common sense to “Children and Family” discussing raising a child with Autism, “Communicating Through Challenges” which addresses bullying, self expression, and more – “Smile! Be Happy!” certainly hits on topics all can relate to and learn from. Having brought hope and optimism to every aspect of her life, and with her bold and durable commitment to God, she enjoys a life of beautiful fulfillment and is now proud to share what she has learned.

About the Author:

Angela LaRosa was born in Brooklyn, New York, to loving parents who unfortunately divorced when she was quite young. This triggered a litany of tragedies and loss – first, losing the security of an intact family, and then her “Mommy” in a tragic accident, which took her life. Angela moved to Queens with her father and stepmother, along with an amazing younger brother and sister, with occasional visits from her older brother who lived far away.

As she developed into a young lady, Angela gained strength and wisdom from being exposed to many challenging situations, and she always searched for positive outcomes and solutions. For many years, she wore a smile on her face as a mask to protect herself and others from sadness. She believes this was one of her very first blessings in creating a happy life. Today, she feels her heavenly mother’s spirit constantly guiding and protecting her, along with the grace of God.

Angela currently resides on Long Island with her wonderful husband, four beautiful children, and three dogs, surrounded by a close family and amazing friends. She feels blessed and believes that she can overcome any obstacle in her way with a positive attitude, a smile, and the love and protection of God and all her angels.

Angela aims to project positivity into the world each day as she strives to help others live a happy life. She hopes that her story will encourage and inspire others to create a world of prayer, peace, and prosperity, while wearing an infectious smile.
