Tate Tucker releases Debut EP ‘SHANGRI-LA’

Garnering acclaim and generating organic buzz, Los Angeles-based genre-blending rap artist Tate Tucker releases his debut Shangri-LA EP today available HERE via Harvest Records.

To celebrate the release of Shangri-LA, Tucker will play a hometown show at School Night on June 24 at Bardot. School Night is free with RSVP until 10 pm RSVP HERE. Not only will the show double as Tucker’s EP release party, but it will also be his official live LA debut.

Before announcing Shangri-LA, Tucker first shared his single Breezy, which has now cracked over 700,000 global streams. Watch the accompanying music video HERE. Shot on-location during an adventure in Bali, the visual features Tucker experiencing the country in all of its glory. The clip brings the song’s sonic and lyrical exploration to life. Vérité Unveils New Single “Gone”

Singer, songwriter Vérité unveils Gone today, her first single in two years, NYLON. Co-written and produced by singer-songwriter Madi Diaz and Konrad Snyder, the song reintroduces the musician, capturing the devastating effects of something ending. Carried by haunting crescendos and is powerhouse vocals, the track sees the singer pleading for time to stand still for a little while longer before her world turns upside down.

Vérité said about the song, Gone is about the moment before an inevitable shift. It’s the feeling of sitting still, taking in your surroundings, and burying yourself in a final scene. It’s about accepting an action as simple as getting dressed can delineate an end. Memphis rapper BlocBoy JB returns with a music video for new single Mercedes,”directed by AWGE visual artist, Hidji and premiered exclusively via The FADER. Released via Bloc Nation Records, the song was originally teased earlier this year via a Triller clip, reaching near a million views and popular demand in the comments.

For water enthusiasts and adventurers looking to expand their horizons this summer, diving with PADI® (Professional Association of Diving Instructors®), the world’s largest dive training organization, offers exhilarating experiences, scenic underwater landscapes, and up-close views of magnificent sea life. Fortunately for those of us that are lucky enough to call California home, there are a number of incredible dive sites that are a short drive or boat ride away:

1. Catalina Island (California, USA): Lots of sea life here! Aside from the expansive kelp forest, divers will find horn sharks, sea urchins, spiny lobsters, sea cucumbers, seals and more. The fish are used to divers, and will often swim right up to them.

2. La Jolla Cove (San Diego, California, USA): An easily accessible shore dive just north of San Diego, the entry is from a sandy beach and you’ll immediately pass some interesting rocky reefs on your way out to the kelp beds. Keep an eye out for playful sea lions and leopard sharks.

3. Monterey Bay (Monterey, California, USA): Many choose to shore dive here, with great opportunities to swim with sea lions at the San Carlos Beach breakwater, and towering kelp forests at Lovers Point. But don’t miss the chance to explore iconic spots such as The Pinnacles, where two rock pinnacles just 100 feet from the sea floor, surrounded by dense, fish-filled kelp forests.

4. Channel Islands National Park (California, USA): Just a short boat trip from the mainland, the beautiful rocky shorelines are home to sea lions, sea birds, whales and dolphins. Giant kelp forests underpin the islands’ marine ecosystems, and cold and nutrient-rich currents support a staggering variety of marine life.

Venturing out a bit farther, here are a few other must-see dive sites around the world.

5. The Sea of Cortez (La Paz, Mexico): This amazing destination was once baptized by Jacques Cousteau as “The Aquarium of the World,” as it has over 800 species of marine life who call it home, including the famous gray whales. This is also one of the premier dive sites in the world for schooling hammerhead sharks, which range from between six to hundreds travelling in a clockwise direction.

6. Queensland (Australia): Queensland has a reputation as a haven for divers – and for good reason. With the world’s largest coral reef system and dozens of renowned wreck sites located along its coast, there is truly no other dive destination on the planet like Queensland. The Great Barrier Reef in the north is comprised of 2,900 coral reefs, 600 continental islands, 300 coral cays and an abundance of diverse marine wildlife encounters that should be on every diver’s list of places to explore.

7. Koh Tao (Thailand): With a great island vibe, tons of activities to do and easy diving, Koh Tao, Thailand is an incredibly fun place to visit on vacation. This idyllic island is a tropical paradise with white sand beaches fringed with palm trees, rugged cliffs and stunning sunsets. Koh Tao’s underwater scenery is just as spectacular with coral encrusted rock pinnacles, vibrant reef, great shipwrecks and the opportunity to see passing pelagics including whale sharks and spotted eagle rays.

Bastille Releases Joy

Today, Bastille shared the official video for their new single, Joy. The track is from the GRAMMY-nominated, Brit-winning band’s third album, Doom Days, which will be released on June 14 by Virgin Records. On June 21, Bastille will perform in Central Park as part of ABC’s Good Morning America’s Summer Concert series.
The Joy video, which can be seen HERE, features real CCTV footage embellished by directors Brain Wash and offers a humorous look at the things people do when they think no one’s watching. From casually hooking up in office cubicles to deliberately tripping up a disruptive small child; what counts as joy for some isn’t necessarily what it means for others. The montage twists some of the more sinister clips, poking fun at the dark undertones, such as a man in an England shirt at a far-right political rally proudly waving a sign that reads “We love migrants” or a paramedic dancing giddily in his ambulance next to a cartoon medical bill for a million pounds.
Bastille frontman Dan Smith said, “This video looks at the things that bring us joy, when we think no one’s looking. Things that are done secretly, maybe compulsively, that we wouldn’t want other people to see. What seems strange and unthinkable to one person might bring pleasure to someone else. It’s fascinating that most people have a version of themselves they want to show in public – at work or online – and a version they don’t. We wanted to show it all.
The final track on Doom Days, completes Bastille’s journey through a big night out, from an Uber ride through the city streets to waking up on the kitchen floor. The healing sounds of the euphoric single see the demons of life’s hangovers dispelled by a simple phone call from someone special, giving a reminder that thereߣs still hope.
Doom Days taps into globally held anxieties, while also working on a much more intimate level, celebrating real human connections. Bastille continues to evolve sonically and push things forward, pulling instrumentation from their much-acclaimed Re-Orchestrated tour and mixing genres like gospel, house music and R&B. Lionsgate Releases Rambo Trailer

 

Today, Lionsgate unleashed a new trailer featuring Billy Ray Cyrus and Lil Nas X‘s “Old Town Road” to promote the September 20 release of “Rambo: Last Blood,” starring Sylvester Stallone. Click here to watch.  

The trailer’s release coincides with the eighth consecutive week “Old Town Road” rules the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 and boasts the second-biggest streaming week ever following the May 17 premiere of the official video .
