E.C.D. × PROJECT SAVAGE

E.C.D. AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN UNVEILS 150th VEHICLE, AN ULTIMATE VEHICLE CONCEPT HONORED AS MOST INNOVATIVE AND POWERFUL EVER FROM E.C.D.

E.C.D. Automotive Design (E.C.D.), known for building award-winning custom luxury vehicles, rolls out its momentous 150th truck, known as Project Savage. The eye-catching Defender 110 is an Ultimate Vehicle Concept and is celebrated as the company’s most innovative and most powerful vehicle ever built, symbolizing the evolution of the company throughout the years.

The powerhouse behind Project Savage is a Chevrolet LS3 6.2L V8 engine with performance upgrades and a custom ECU tune, boosting it to nearly 600-horsepower, making this brilliant D110 the most powerful vehicle E.C.D. has ever built. Every inch of Project Savage was hand-built to the client’s specifications at E.C.D. Automotive Design’s Rover Dome, their global headquarters located in Kissimmee, Florida.

Finished in a “Super White” full gloss paint with eggshell-black trim and a set of 20-inch six-spoke custom E.C.D. wheels give Project Savage an incredibly aggressive, yet modern look.

Awarded the most innovative vehicle ever built by E.C.D., Project Savage includes advanced systems never used on an E.C.D. vehicle before, including a wireless Warn Industries winch system that allows full use of the winch remotely within a 50-foot radius of the vehicle. Cosmetic innovations include an extended center console reaching the middle-row, providing passengers with modern luxuries such as wireless charging pads for mobile devices, rear climate controls, heated and ventilated seats, and premium sound with ten JL Audio speakers throughout the vehicle.

Project Savage is perfect for urban cruising, yet fully capable of off-road adventures. Every E.C.D. vehicle is four-wheel drive; however, Project Savage has been upgraded with front and rear-axel limited slip differentials, a two-inch lift suspension kit from Fox, and a hydro-boost braking system for premium braking power.

“Project Savage sums up the evolution of E.C.D. and what we do best. The fusion of classic and modern – that iconic, rugged look combined with modern performance and technology,” says Tom Humble, founder of E.C.D. Automotive Design.

Barthélémy Toguo Exhibition

BARTHÉLÉMY TOGUO

SECRET EVIDENCE

Opening: Friday, 21 September 2018 | 6 – 9 PM
Exhibition continues: 22 September – 30 November 2018

Robert Grunenberg Berlin
Marburger Strasse 3, 10789 Berlin

In his first-ever solo exhibition at a German gallery, this Cameroonian artist undertakes a critical examination of the today’s political climate around the world, as well as the psychological implications of the human condition. The exhibition will include historical key works dating back to 1999, as well as brand new works.

Addressing social and environmental issues, his works are fueled by his personal experiences as an African in Europe. His studies of urgent challenges such as discrimination, alienation, and cross-border relations transcend cultural distinctions. Besides installations encompassing photography, performance, and video art, he integrates enigmatic watercolors into his output that figure as poetic vessels of hope amid the social and political critique his oeuvre articulates. Like his other works, they are based on a probing engagement with cultural realities. Fraught will allegorical significance derived from indigenous myths and rituals, they inquire into the foundations of human existence and dare to envision the body’s inward psyche.

The large-format drawings on paper, many of them mounted on canvas backing, unfold fantasies of a human and vegetative metamorphosis and create a living symbiosis between man and nature. The translucent watercolors convey an expression of vigor as well as fragility, its form spreading graphically across the white and strangely cathartic paper. Proliferating entrails, as vital as they are brutal, grow out of the human body and explode physical as well as mental boundaries. Man’s existence appears grotesque and sublime at once as he is both deformed and enhanced.

Vagabond Adventure Tours

Touring Ireland in March and April means fun-filled festivals, better value flights, quieter roads, lambkins, bluebell-carpeted woodlands and 13 percent discounts on two Vagabond Small Group Tours of Ireland itineraries if booked by end October 2018.

This award-winning travel company offers two styles of culturally immersive travel.

Vagabond Adventure Tours are for active travelers who want to mix up hiking and biking and other outdoor adventures with history, culture, dining and shopping. An 8 Day Wild Irish Rover Tour departs March 10, 17, 24, 31 and April 7, 14, 21 and 28. Book a March or April date before Oct. 31, 2018, and save 13 percent.

Why wild? Because the tour, recognized by National Geographic Traveler as a Top 50 Tours of a Lifetime, is off-road as much as it’s on, relying on signature 4×4 tour vehicles to go where other sightseeing companies tend not to tread.

Why Irish? Because the tour blends pubs, people, castles and lore into the hearts of active travelers.

Why roving? Guests are never rushed traveling from the west coast of Ireland and the peninsulas of the southwest all the way up to Connemara.

Our itinerary of the southern half of Ireland keeps guests on their toes and exploring under their own steam power. In fact, they’re sometimes, after a walk or cycle, grateful for a sit down in the 4×4,” said Rob Rankin, founder and owner with Amy Rankin. “Every stone we walk over has a story to tell. Ruins and castles are, after all, about people.”

The €1,919 per person double rate (before the early booking discount) includes eight full days of touring, seven nights’ accommodation with breakfasts, services of a professional Vagabond tour guide, guided walks, entrance fees to historical and archaeological sites, demonstrations of local craftsmen at work, ferry excursion tickets and taxes. Activities require a good level of fitness for walking and cycling 2.5 hours each on undulating paths. Additional 2019 departures are weekly on Sundays through mid-October.

Driftwood Journeys of Discovery follow similar itineraries but at an intimate and in-depth looking and lingering pace, sans the physical exertion. A 6 Day Northern Island Tour offers spring departures April 7 and 21 where if guests book before Oct. 31, 2018 they save 13 percent.

“This tour brings tourists into a region that for decades was overlooked because of border issues,” said Rankin. “Basically, nobody wanted to visit Northern Ireland because of the ‘troubles’ there. This only started to change in the early 2000s really. The northwest county of Donegal, despite being in the Republic of Ireland (the ‘south’), was almost cut off from the rest of the state geographically. Thus, its tourism did not develop in the same way as in other parts of the country.” A border region deemed “very hard” up until early in the 21st century emerged with its own identity and culture, partly formed by the years of political turmoil and violence.

The per person double rate of €1,509 (before the early booking discount) includes six full days on tour, five nights’ accommodation with full Irish breakfasts, some entrance fees and relevant taxes. Additional 2019 departures are May 5, 19; June 16, 30; July 14, 28; Aug. 11, 25; Sept. 8, 22; and Oct. 6.

For all of the current specials and promotions offered by Vagabond Small Group Tours of Ireland visit online; http://vagabondtoursofireland.com/special-offers/.

Vagabond staff curate locally owned accommodations, pubs and restaurants that help serve their goal of authenticity. In the end the mission is to have guests “love Ireland as much as we do.” Transport is in a custom 4×4 Land Rover or Mercedes ‘Vagatron’ that allows access beyond where regular tour buses go.

Vagabond Small Group Tours of Ireland has been revealing the hidden treasures of Ireland through its carefully planned and executed tours since 2002.  Last year the Irish Tourism Awards singled the company out as offering Best Adventure Experience, and also in 2017 it became Ireland’s first tour operator to achieve Ecotourism Gold Level Certification

Dr. Joan Oloff x Bloomingdale Shoe Launch

World-renowned celebrity podiatric surgeon and luxury shoe designer Dr. Joan Oloff is thrilled to announce the launch of her namesake footwear brand at Bloomingdale’s.  The Joan Oloff Shoes shop-in-shop will open on September 27, 2018 at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street at 1000 Third Avenue in Manhattan.

Designed by a woman in the medical field with a keen knowledge of a woman’s needs in footwear, Joan Oloff Shoes is a fashion footwear collection that combines style, elegance and cutting edge insole design technology for women on the go.  The brand is best known for its top selling classic three inch, 9am to 9pm “go everywhere” pump, the Deborah, and the lower kitten heel version, the Callie.  These, along with additional classic styles of flats, heels, boots, booties and sandals in eye catching leopard, red suede and every day neutral shades from the Fall/Winter 2018 collections will be showcased on the recently renovated 5th floor shoe complex for several weeks before moving to other Bloomingdale’s locations across the U.S. in a traveling trunk show.  The brand will also be available online at bloomingdales.com.

Dr. Oloff will make a personal appearance during her launch event at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street on Thursday, September 27th, 2018 6:00pm – 8:00pm.  The event is open to the public, and guests are invited for champagne, lite bites, music and shopping.

The Joan Oloff patent pending insole technology is unlike that of any other brand and has already begun to disrupt the footwear industry.  Dr. Oloff’s design aims to protect a woman’s foot and body by eliminating scrunched toes and correcting misalignment of the body that leads to aching legs and back pain that is quite common among many women.  It is Dr. Oloff’s tenacity in changing industry standards that has brought light to her brand thus far and will continue to drive her.

The New York opening is a homecoming for Oloff who grew up in her grandfather’s shoe store in Brooklyn and went into the podiatric medical field wanting to make a change after witnessing many women complain about their aching feet and back pain.

“I had seen the damage caused by poorly constructed shoes to so many of my female patients over the years and thought to myself, ‘In this day and age of technology, there has to be a better way to design heels.’  The time is now for women to stop accepting the way shoes have been wrongly constructed for decades by designers who do not have their best interest in mind,” says Oloff.

She continues, “I want to let women know that it doesn’t have to be this way, and my mission is to design shoes that allow women to stand taller, more confident, and focus on being and feeling their best in their day to day lives.”

A portion of proceeds of all Joan Oloff Shoes funds ReachUP, founded by Dr. Oloff and women’s soccer icon Brandi Chastain, to support women and girls in need.

“When we elevate the lives of women and girls, we elevate society as a whole.  I wanted to create a brand for women, by women, to elevate all women!” says Oloff.

The brand has been well received at Bloomingdale’s in San Francisco and Chestnut Hill, MA.  Joan Oloff Shoes is excited to be a part of the iconic 59th Street store in New York City and will announce trunk shows at Bloomingdale’s in additional cities across the U.S. in the coming months.

New York Reality Shows

New York is an exceptional city and its essence has been immortalized in Michael Montgomery’s iconic song New York, New York. Its unmistakable skyline is recognizable in countless movies and TV shows and has become home to record-setting, rating-grabbling reality TV shows. Just like the hugely successful Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles featured previously on 360 Magazine, the following rank as the top three and most popular of their respective franchises under reality TV shows based in New York.

Say Yes to The Dress

TLC’s famous reality show, which debuted in 2007, revolves around New York’s swanky bridal salon, Kleinfeld, owned by Mara Urshel and Ronald Rothstein. The show follows soon-to-be brides in choosing their dream wedding dress. While accompanied by friends and family, they are waited on by the store’s consultants and fitters. To be featured on the show, future brides must provide countless personal details, including the fiancée’s occupation and information about the upcoming wedding for dramatic purposes.

Due to the success of the show, Kleinfeld has become a tourist hotspot with fans flocking from all over to check out the store and try on dresses despite upcoming marriage plans. In-person, the store appears quite different than on the show, with the small salon packed with 20 or so brides crowding for dresses. With only 90 minutes to choose the perfect dress, brides who aren’t even in front of the camera feel the pressure.

Million Dollar Listing New York

In its seventh season, Bravo’s popular New York real-estate reality TV program features what it truly means to sell high-priced New York City properties. Hosted by New York brokers Fredrik Eklund, Ryan Serhant and Steve Gold, the series has become a massive hit with viewers who live vicariously through the show and dream of owning a high-end New York apartment. With the wide exposure, the show has seen the hosts’ careers fast-tracked immensely. As for Ryan Serhant and Steve Gold, it has brought both fame and fortune.

Serhant was ranked 15th on The Real Deal’s top agents when the show debuted in 2012, and is now listed as number 1 for Manhattan closed deals. With Manhattan apartments getting more expensive each year, broker commissions have also soared. Yoreevo reports that New York commissions have gone up 50% in the last decade despite the increased information transparency. It’s no wonder that the show’s exposure has exponentially benefitted the trio – Steve Gold landing a job with coveted brokerage firm, Corcoran Group.

The Real Housewives of New York

p15251544_b_v8_ab

In what has been described as 10 seasons of catfights, wine swigging, and backstabbing, the Bravo show’s popularity stems from its intentional and unintentional humor. The Real Housewives of New York (RHONY) features 7 female socialites while focusing on their personal and professional lives. Originally a spin-off of The Real Housewives of Orange County, the 13th season premiered July 16. Executive producer, Andy Cohen told Vanity Fair that the show “…is stuff no one could script. It’d be considered too absurd.” This is exactly what the series feels like, absurd, with storylines that often defy belief. Although, it was RHONY’s mercurial cast and over-the-top drama which has propelled the franchise to the grand following it has today.
