Today, Ruel announces his forthcoming EP, Bright Lights, Red Eyes, out October 23rd via RCA Records. Written entirely in Paris, the EP is the third from the Australian artist, following last year’s Free Time, which MTV described as “an accomplished reflection of Ruel’s stated influences, contemporary touchstones, and his own, growing voice.”
Speaking on the inspiration behind the EP, Ruel says: “I want to get across that this project is another step forward in maturity for me. Free Time was a step up from Ready, and this Bright Lights, Red Eyes EP is a step up again. This project was a stream of consciousness when I was writing it at the time, and I feel like that’s the way all projects and songs are for me. They are moments in time. This project isn’t who I am right now as I wrote these songs last year, but it’s the most mature you’ve ever heard me and it was me, in that moment in time. The songs I’m writing now will be more mature again, and I love that my fans can come on this journey with me as I grow.”
Alongside the EP announcement, Ruel is also sharing the first offering from the project “as long as you care,” which arrives with a video directed by Grey Ghost (Jeremy Koren). Additionally, the artist is announcing RuelVision, a 24-hour online television network featuring unique and fun programs starring Ruel, from music and cooking, to news and lifestyle. The ambitious venture is the largest content-driven artist campaign of 2020, and a testament to Ruel’s continual drive to push creative boundaries. The network launches this Monday, September 14th, with on demand access available when you pre-orderBright Lights, Red Eyes.
Following that, Ruel has grand plans for his highly-anticipated debut album. He’s working closely with M-Phazes and THIEF (both of whom have nurtured Ruel since his debut single), ensuring that the full-length will be an organic affair. “It’s a lot more layered, I want each project to have more meaning and purpose,” Ruel says. “I want to reflect on something important in my life, and give across a message that if people are feeling the same way that I am, it’s okay.” It’s hard to believe, but Ruel’s story is just beginning – and the next chapter looks brighter than ever.
Pre-order Bright Lights, Red Eyes above and stay tuned for more from Ruel coming soon.
At a young age, Ruel’s resume reads like that of a seasoned global superstar, and the Sydney-bred, London-born vocalist is quickly becoming one of this generation’s most influential artists. With half a billion streams, over 1.4 million followers on Instagram, three sold-out world tours and five Platinum plaques under his belt, Ruel is a trailblazer who’s far exceeded the omnipresent hype and overwhelming fan frenzy that surrounds him globally. Ever since his rustic demos landed in the ears of M-Phazes back in 2015, Ruel has been impossible to ignore.
Ruel made his official debut in 2017 with “Golden Years” alongside M-Phazes, and just three months later, he became the youngest artist to ever appear on triple j’s Like A Version. His next single “Don’t Tell Me” further highlighted his rich vocals and defiant lyricism, catching the attention of Elton John who praised Ruel as “the most amazing voice that I’ve ever heard from a male singer at 14 years of age.”
Ruel was invited to perform alongside world-class talents like Khalid, also becoming the second ever Australian billed performer on Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival. Ruel also performed at the Opening Ceremony of the 2018 Commonwealth Games, streaming to 1.4 billion viewers worldwide. Also, he’s sold out 3 world tours across America, Europe and Australia in a matter of minutes.
At the tail end of 2018, Ruel also won the Breakout Artist award at the ARIAs, becoming the youngest artist to do so. He quickly re-emerged in 2019 with single “Painkiller,” which went 2x Platinum before recruiting Denzel Curry on the remix. Subsequent singles “Real Thing” and “Face To Face” also went Platinum, while Ruel spent 2019 further solidifying his live portfolio. In his hometown, he became the youngest artist to sell out the Sydney Opera House, twice.
Australian superstar artist Amy Shark has released her brand new single and video ‘Everybody Rise’, the first offering of new music since the overwhelming success of Amy’s #1 ARIA album, LOVE MONSTER, out now via Wonderlick Recording Company/Sony Music Entertainment Australia/RCA Records. Check it out HERE.
‘Everybody Rise’ is Amy at her most meticulous – storytelling with adventurous melodies and experimenting with her voice like never before. Amy’s unique ability to connect with her audience through nuanced and emotive lyrics remains strong, in this case taking the feeling of unrequited love and turning it on its head.
Produced by Joel Little (Lorde, Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes) and mixed by Serban Ghenea (The Weeknd, Ellie Goulding, Katy Perry, Halsey), ‘Everybody Rise’ is a commentary on worship culture, how we create idols on social media while losing track of the humanity right in front of us. “The whole idea of writing a song about unrequited love feels overcooked and everyone’s done it, I know,” says Amy. “But I don’t feel like anyone’s done it like this before. I wanted it to sound like all these broken hearts getting together and being like, ‘We all wonder what it’s like to be with you.”
The cinematic video for ‘Everybody Rise’ was filmed in Nashville and directed by Patrick Tohill.
Amy Shark burst into the global music scene in 2016 with her breakthrough 5 x Platinum single ‘Adore’ putting her on the map as one of Australia’s most formidable emerging songwriters. The track was Top 15 at AAA and Top 25 at Alternative. This was followed by 4 x Platinum and number one AU Airplay Chart hit, ‘I Said Hi’ and the 2019 platinum single ‘Mess Her Up’. Amy’s debut/breakthrough #1 ARIA album and Platinum-certified LOVE MONSTER was recognized in 2018 with four ARIA awards (“Album of the Year”, “Best Female Artist”, “Best Pop Release”, “Best Producer’ [Dann Hume]) and was nominated for another five. In the US, LOVE MONSTER debuted at #1 on the Heatseekers and Alternative New Artist Chart. LOVE MONSTER went on to become the highest-selling album by an Australian artist for 2018.
Amy has toured extensively throughout Australia and abroad, performing on several major US television shows including The Late Late Show with James Corden and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Though a 2020 tour is up in the air for now, Amy plans to return to North America in 2021 with her new live show.
“This single is me properly hitting my stride,” she affirms. “The next chapter will define me even more than LOVE MONSTER did.”

Listen to “Out Of Control (The Avalanches Surrender To Love Mix)” via Astralwerks HERE.
This remix of “Out Of Control” is an edit taken from a longer Surrender-inspired piece The Avalanches created that is due for release in the future.
“Out Of Control (The Avalanches Surrender To Love Mix)” is accompanied by a brand-new screen print from original Surrender artwork designer Kate Gibb using the original film from 1999. Gibb has also helped to create a truly stunning visualizer for the track alongside graphic artist Jimmy Turrell – watch it HERE.
“Out Of Control” was the third single taken from Surrender and featured vocals by New Order’s Bernard Sumner and Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie. The deluxe reissue of Surrender – featuring hours of unreleased material and a blu-ray of the band’s Glastonbury 2000 Pyramid Stage headline set – is out now HERE.
The Avalanches latest album, Wildflower, was released to critical acclaim in 2016 via Astralwerks. Pitchfork called the album “better than just about any music ever made.” “Out Of Control” is the duo’s first official remix since 2013.

Next week the 2019 FIA Formula One World Championship™ starts with the FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2019. Motorsport’s pinnacle series will take to the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 March, launching the 70th Formula 1® championship. Formula 1® attracts fans from across the world, captivated by the sport’s cutting-edge technology and its remarkable athletes in their quest for perfection. The competition’s enduring spirit, as well as its commitment to bold performance and innovation, aligns closely with Rolex’s own passion for continuous excellence. This season, Rolex marks its seventh consecutive year as a Global Partner and the Official Timepiece of Formula 1®.
In a move to improve overtaking, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and Formula 1® have introduced rules reducing aerodynamic turbulence from the front and rear wing, encouraging the cars to follow each other in close proximity. Rolex Testimonee and multiple Formula 1® race winner Mark Webber explains their impact: “The new regulations are designed to encourage drivers to get into a position to overtake. The cars should be more predictable, meaning the drivers will be more confident about creating exciting passing opportunities. There’s definitely a lot to look forward to this season and I think there will be a good fight for the championship. I hope it goes deep into the year – I really believe it will.”
The 2019 season, spanning March to December and consisting of 21 races around the world, will feature several milestones. Next month’s FORMULA 1 HEINEKEN CHINESE GRAND PRIX 2019 will be the championship’s 1,000th Grand Prix™. Since its first race in May 1950, Formula 1® has pioneered technology across the globe, showcasing legendary drivers behind the wheel of the most advanced racing cars. This May, the FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX DE MONACO 2019 celebrates 90 years since the inaugural race around the Principality’s famous streets and almost a century later the circuit still paves a virtually identical route. Rolex Testimonee and 2016 FIA Formula 1® Drivers’ World Champion Nico Rosberg highlights the importance of celebrating the sport’s past: “I’m very proud of the great heritage of Formula 1 and the small part I have played in its history. I look forward to being involved in these landmark occasions, to reflect and reminisce on the sport’s tremendous legacy and its exceptional achievements. Formula 1 continues to be one of the most technologically advanced sports in the world and these attributes – legacy, excellence and innovation – fit perfectly with Rolex.”
On 7 September 2019 at Monza (Italy), Sir Jackie Stewart, a Rolex Testimonee for more than half a century and three-time FIA Formula 1® Drivers’ World Champion, will celebrate 50 years to the day since he clinched his first championship. The Scottish legend, who marks the occasion at the same circuit where he sealed the crown in 1969, reflects on the milestone: “I’ve always felt emotion is dangerous for a racing driver, but I hope there is a little flush of it when I get to Monza this year. I’m incredibly proud, and fortunate, to have seen the sport grow in prestige as well as from a safety perspective, it’s a wonderful story. To honor the anniversary at one of the greatest race tracks in the world where I won my first championship is truly special and I look forward to a weekend full of celebrations.”
This season will feature several new driver partnerships, with only Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport and Rich Energy Haas F1® Team keeping the same line-up as in 2018. The shake-up has created added intrigue as the teams travel to Australia. “There’s nothing like going racing,” says Mark Webber. “It’s amazing how quickly the drivers will settle into their new environments, but prior to Melbourne they have had only a limited amount of testing, so the first race of the year will answer a lot of questions. Melbourne is one of the best Grands Prix of the year; the city comes to life. It is very significant for the event that Rolex has been involved for so long, united by their world-class approach and attention to detail. For me personally, and for all Australians, it makes the event extra special that such an incredible brand like Rolex is so closely associated.”
ROLEX AND MOTORSPORT
Rolex’s close ties with motor port date back to Sir Malcolm Campbell’s World Land Speed Record successes in the 1930s, when he became the first driver to break the 300mph barrier (483km/h) at the wheel of his car Bluebird. Since then, Rolex’s presence in motor racing has grown steadily, supporting iconic endurance events such as the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship. In 2013, Rolex partnered the pinnacle of motor sport, Formula 1®, having supported Rolex Testimonee Sir Jackie Stewart since 1968. The brand also has a global appreciation for classic car events steeped in elegance, beauty and tradition, including the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance®, The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, the goo and the Goodwood Revival.

“A talented artist who knows how to move you and your body with soulful grooves and real AF lyrics.” – Okayplayer
GRAMMY Award-winner Grace Weber is a star on the rise. An accomplished singer/songwriter, Weber collaborated with Chance the Rapper and Kanye West, co-writing and singing on “All We Got,” the opening track of Chance’s GRAMMY-winning Coloring Book. Her singles, “More Than Friends” and “Elated,” shot to the top of Spotify’s charts, and her performance at SXSW was compared to a “religious experience” byNylon. Beyond her flourishing success, Weber is the cofounder of The Music Lab, Inc, a non-profit organization that provides free music education, career preparation and performance programs to high-school students in her hometown of Milwaukee.
“There are many types of musicians; some look good, some move good, some are great songwriters, some are great singers. DAVIE is all of these. He has a sound that fits next to the biggest names in contemporary R&B and that can hang comfortably with the giants of the genre’s past, all the way back to his hero, James Brown.” – Ticketmaster Insider
Inspired by the passion of vintage soul and the emotional uplift of gospel, New Jersey native DAVIE cut his musical teeth singing in churches in a traveling gospel band. His vocal prowess led him to Los Angeles, where he found work singing back-up for artists like Chris Brown, Cee-Lo Green and Childish Gambino. But it wasn’t until he went back to the churches of his youth that he found the key to unlock his own path. His debut EP, Black Gospel Vol.1, is filled with both Davie’s fiery spiritual passion and the celebratory energy of contemporary R&B, making the euphoria his songs can generate palpable.
“This is Trent Reznor-level cool. BONES is doing the whole damn thing, middle fingers to the sky and in full control of their work. Rock on.” —NYLON
To hear them explain it, British duo BONES (UK) is “leading the charge of taking rock’n’roll firmly into the 31st century.” Comprised of vocalist Rosie Bones and guitarist Carmen Van Den Berg, the band has already racked up some serious cred to back up their claim. After hearing an early gig by the duo in London’s Camden Town, rock legend Jeff Beck asked Bones and Van Den Berg to collaborate—as both co-writers and players—on his 2016 album Loud Hailer. After gaining a massive following off of singles “Beautiful is Boring” and “Girls Can’t Play Guitar,” it’s easy to see why they have caught the attention and toured with the likes of: Highly Suspect, Band of Skulls, KOOKS, PVRIS, Skunk Anansie and Miyavi.
“[Melvv] has been thrilling listeners with his jazzed-up dance music for years now…continuing to cement his status as a dynamic provocateur.” – Dancing Astronaut
Melvv is the artist project of Milwaukee, WI producer/DJ Jeffrey Melvin. He started producing music at age 12 after being inspired by a video of Daft Punk’s 2007 Paris concert. Melvv is currently signed to Atlantic Records and has a new EP releasing in the fall, which he will be performing at his Lolla Set.
“Morgxn captivated fans with his infectious pop musicality that’s expertly infused with deeply personal, complex yet relatable lyrics. It’s in this honesty, vulnerability, and authenticity that morgxn’s music resonates and connects with his legion of fans.” -Ones to Watch
morgxn, at age 8, became the youngest member of the Nashville Symphony Choir, and at age 9 penned his fist song “I’ll Always Be There for You.” morgxn decamped from Nashville to Los Angeles, in order to find “space to think, breathe, and be with myself.” While at a party he was asked if he wanted to meet Stevie Nicks, who sagely told the young songwriter, “You have to keep moving. This world will walk all over you if you don’t just keep going.” This advice changed morgxn’s life and his career. His debut album inspired by loss, Vital, is filled with cascading synth-scapes and cool beats, celebrating the emotional complexities of the human condition. His breakout single, “Home,” has earned nearly 7 million Spotify streams, and even inspired a partnership with The Covenant House, a charity for young runaways.
“There are many things we can be grateful to Australia for…but topping the list must be new alt-pop queen Vera Blue, who is undoubtably on the path to world domination.” – Paper Magazine
Vera Blue is an Australian singer/songwriter who started off playing acoustic folk music before adding lush, sultry electronic elements to broaden her sound. The results are sometimes gentle, sometimes ferocious and always show-stopping, with her commanding vocals front and center. After some crucial collabs with artists like Illy and Slumberjack, she released her EP Fingertips in 2016, followed by her debut album Perennial the following year. Response to both her recorded work and live shows have been rapturous.

Mojo Nomad Central – a ground-breaking concept designed to turn the traditional hotel model on its head- will open this September on Queens Road Central in the heart of Hong Kong. The property is the second to open from theMojo Nomadbrand, Hong Kong’s first hotel concept with shared working spaces, and a member of the Ovolo Hotelsgroup.
“Following the unprecedented success of Mojo Nomad Aberdeen, on the western shore of Hong Kong Island, we’re excited to unveil a second Mojo Nomad property in Hong Kong, this time in the city’s bustling Central District,” says Girish Jhunjhnuwala, the visionary behind the Mojo Nomad concept, and founder & CEO of Ovolo Hotels. The edgy, design-driven concept draws on the hotelier’s desire to make a difference. “We are giving modern travelers access to a multi-use space where they can be productive, collaborate, seek adventure and experience new things,” continued Girish.
The first of its kind in the region, the Mojo Nomad concept combines a mix of designer rooms, from private to accommodation options for families, groups and friends, paving the way for a new type of value-driven design hospitality. Mojo Nomad’s communal spaces encourage guests to connect with new people and ideas, tapping into a thriving demographic of explorers and addressing the changing demands of the ever-evolving traveler.
The new Mojo Nomad Central offers a total of 56 guest rooms ranging from size S to XL; two of the property’s rooms will offer shared accommodations. Adhering to the brand’s commitment to integrating the latest in technology and design, each room is equipped with multiple USB and traditional plug sockets, as well as international adapters. Shared rooms are fitted with individual televisions and Bluetooth headphone capabilities, as well. A flexible-use space on the property’s second floor will offer a refreshment bar and shared kitchen with additional working and lounge areas. On the third floor, the gym offers TRX equipment, punching bags, yoga mats and more.
A two-story Mexican eatery, Te Quiero Mucho, will serve share-style plates and margaritas alongside a broad selection of artisanal tequilas. The bar, which also serves as the hotel’s reception desk, is decked out with eye-catching neon.
“Our inspirational new hotel collection is designed for those seeking a better way of living. At Mojo Nomad, guests are able to unite around common interests and enjoy a unique style of community living, which values openness and collaboration without compromise. Whether your stay be long or short, you’ll be a part of our community,” concluded Girish.
