Volbeat – “Die to Live”

VOLBEAT SECURES 8TH #1 RECORD ON THE MAINSTREAM ROCK SONGS CHART
WITH “DIE TO LIVE

BAND NOW HAS THE MOST #1s BY A EUROPEAN BAND

7th STUDIO ALBUM, REWIND, REPLAY, REBOUND, OUT NOW VIA REPUBLIC RECORDS

Volbeat’s latest single, “Die To Live,” is currently #1 on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart. The Danish band’s latest single is their 8th to reach the top of the chart, racking up more #1 songs in this format than any other European artist. The honor was previously held by U2, who’s record Volbeat tied last August when their single “Last Day Under The Sun” became their 7th number one on the chart. Find more information via Billboard here.

Tickets and information for Volbeat’s “Rewind, Replay, Rebound World Tour” are available here.

Volbeat recently debuted a new video documenting their 2019 called “Die To Live – The Year In Volbeat” which features footage from their sold-out European tour, their US summer trek on The Knottfest Roadshow, and the filming of the music video for “Die To Live (feat. Neil Fallon)” which was directed by Adam Rothlein at Ghost Atomic Pictures and taped at Futura Studio in Roslindale, MA. The song and video both feature appearances by Clutch’s Neil Fallon, as well as Raynier Jacob Jacildo and Doug Corcoran of JD McPherson’s band.

The band’s seventh studio album Rewind, Replay, Rebound is out now. For the album, Volbeat— Michael Poulsen (guitars/vocals), Rob Caggiano (guitars), Kaspar Boye Larsen (bass), and Jon Larsen (drums) —build upon the distinct, psychobilly, punk-tinged rock ‘n’ roll sound they are known for while reaching for new creative summits. “The whole point for us going into the studio, is because you still have something to prove — not just for the fans, but mostly for yourself,” says Poulsen. “We would not be able to do this record if it wasn’t for the work we have done in the past. No matter how old the band gets or how many records we do, there is always going to be that signature sound.” Rewind, Replay, Rebound is available on all formats here, including a 2 CD deluxe edition, a special deluxe edition box set, and transparent and blue colored vinyl, numbered and limited to 1,000 copies each.

Rewind, Replay, Rebound was produced by long-time collaborator Jacob Hansen and co-produced by Rob Caggiano and Michael Poulsen. This marks the first studio album with Kaspar Boye Larsen on bass. To achieve the album’s sound the band also drew upon a myriad of guests including backing vocalist Mia Maja and the Harlem Gospel Choir, who both return after appearing on 2016’s Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie. Ultimately, Volbeat has not lost their passion to create and progress. It’s that which keeps them hungry — and musically honest on the new album.

VOLBEAT emerged from Copenhagen in 2001. Since then, they’ve tirelessly clawed their way to hard rock’s upper echelon with endless touring, including opening for Metallica, Motorhead and Slipknot, and a string of six beloved full-length albums. Their 2010 album Beyond Hell/Above Heaven, which features hit singles “A Warrior’s Call” and “Heaven Nor Hell,” has received RIAA Gold Certification. 2013’s Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies, which includes the Grammy-nominated “Room 24,” bowed at #9 on the Billboard Top 200 upon release, marking the highest U.S. chart entry for a Danish act since 1997. A distinction that Volbeat topped in 2016 when Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie debuted at #4. The band also released Let’s Boogie! Live At Telia Parken, a concert film and album documenting their landmark 2017 Copenhagen show in front of 48,250 fans, the largest show a Danish band has ever performed in Denmark.

Glass Animals – Quarantine Covers

DAVE BAYLEY OF GLASS ANIMALS COVERS “HEART-SHAPED BOX” BY NIRVANA ON INSTAGRAM

WATCH HERE

Glass Animals are bringing fans ‘Quarantine Covers’ Episodes where they’re covering fan-requested songs and going through the gear used to record. While locked in his studio under quarantine, lead singer Dave Bayley of Glass Animals covered Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box” for Episode 1. Watch HERE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fL2NDcGym4) .

Glass Animals’ brand new single “Your Love (Déjà vu)” is out now and is a tantalizing first hint of what is to come from Glass Animals’ upcoming third studio album. Listen HERE

2020 already promises to be a momentous year for Glass Animals—the universally-adored British four-piece fronted by Dave Bayley with his bandmates and childhood friends, Joe Seaward, Ed Irwin-Singer and Drew Macfarlane. As well as producing both ZABA and How To Be A Human Being, Dave has produced “Your Love (Déjà vu)” and in the past worked with a number of artists outside of the band, including 6lack, Khalid, Joey Bada$$, DJ Dahi, Flume and MorMor. The tone for Glass Animals was set when they dropped bombshell release “Tokyo Drifting” feat. Denzel Curry at the close of last year and celebrated by playing a packed-out, surprise secret show in a tiny venue in Oxford.

It was an important moment for Glass Animals, their first headline show playing together since drummer Joe Seaward’s cycling accident in 2018. The success and reaction to the show fortified the band to announce an extensive but incredibly intimate run of shows around the world this spring—playing some of the spaces they played when they first started out, reminding themselves of what they have and what they nearly lost, and crucially, a big thank you to the fans who supported them throughout.

Gracie Davies – Addicted To Blue

GRACE DAVIES ANNOUNCES ‘FRIENDS WITH THE TRAGIC’ EP & SHARES ‘ADDICTED TO BLUE’

‘The lyrics are testament to a remarkable talent…add a melody of heart-tugging beauty and the result is a song that is extraordinarily beautiful’ – The Sunday Times

‘Expect big things for Grace this year’ – Daily Star

‘Raw, searching debut single’ – Music Week

‘Definitely worth the wait. Invisible shows off the 22 year old’s incredible songwriting chops’ – Spindle Magazine

‘A wonderful debut’ – Official Charts LISTEN TO/ SHARE ‘ADDICTED TO BLUE’ HERE

WATCH ‘ADDICTED TO BLUE’ VISUALIZER HERE:

Today, Grace Davies announces the release of her forthcoming ‘Friends With The Tragic’ EP.  A powerful and emotive collection of songwriting mastery, the four-track EP will include the  previously released and critically acclaimed single ‘Invisible’ alongside new banger ‘Addicted To Blue’ released through The Orchard/Sony Music.

The release of ‘Invisible’ at the beginning of 2020 marked the start of a new era in Grace’s career and cemented her reputation as a songwriter, racking up over 250K streams, landing places on influential tastemaker playlists and championed by a wealth of tastemakers including Sunday Times Culture who described her as ‘a remarkable talent’.

Smooth vocals infused with hypnotic melodies and cool Scandi pop vibes, ‘Addicted To Blue’ was recorded and produced in Sweden with producer Elias Kapari and is another beautiful track from this extraordinary talent.

Having independently released her debut EP at the age of 18, Grace Davies garnered the support of tastemakers including BBC 6 Music, became a staple fixture on BBC Radio Lancashire, as well as picking up coveted national ‘BBC Introducing’ artist support. The 23-year-old composer, pianist and singer is a songwriter who artfully documents the human condition, able to make the personal universal. With a poet’s ease, her honest lyrics come alive through her soulful, unique vocals and haunting melodies; traits that saw her ascend to the final of X Factor 2017. In a first for the programme, Grace shook up the format and confidently showcased her own songs at every stage, generating millions of streams and a top 2 iTunes chart position.

A true artist, Grace oversees every element of her music. Following extensive time in the studio writing for other artists as well as herself Grace’s unmistakable voice and fearless songwriting seems set to secure her future. Her ‘Friends With The Tragic’ EP will be released this summer.

Grace says: ““I feel like there’s something for everyone on this EP, and I was truly able to document a wide variety of happenings in my “tragique” life, as I like to call it. I’m so proud of these songs. Addicted To Blue is the bop I never realised I had. It lived as a piano ballad for over a year and I never knew which direction to take it in. I went out to Sweden to produce it with Elias Kapari and we had such a fun time with it because it was such a blank canvas, so we tried everything just for fun! I’ve always been inspired by the energy of 80’s pop production so I really wanted to bring some elements of 80’s to this track. It makes me dance around my kitchen no matter what mood I’m in. The song talks about the appreciation of a long distance relationship. My boyfriend at the time lived 3 hours away, which is far enough not to see each other often, so I wanted to touch on how amazing it is that someone can give you a reason to be sad when they leave – if that makes sense. The lyrics are so contradictory throughout – like, I’m happy when we’re together, but I also like not having you there all the time, getting on my tits! A happy medium.”

Alec Wigdahl × “Cologne”

SINGER/SONGWRITER ALEC WIGDAHL PREMIERES NEW SINGLE “COLOGNE”

Today, Minnesota-bred singer/songwriter Alec Wigdahl shares a brutally honest but infectious new single called “Cologne.” Released via Internet Money Records / 10K Projects, “Cologne” finds the 19-year-old artist taking on a more beat-driven and dynamic pop sound — a perfect backdrop to his airy vocals and romantically tortured lyrics. Check out “Cologne” HERE

Produced by Wigdahl along with Internet Money founder Taz Taylor, Nick Mira (A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Kevin Gates, Juice WRLD), and OkTanner, “Cologne” marks a major departure from the stripped-down sonic palette of Strawberry— Wigdahl’s debut EP for Internet Money Records / 10K Projects, released last December. Despite its more elaborate production, “Cologne” offers up the same raw emotion that Wigdahl has always brought to his songwriting. As Wigdahl explains, that fearless honesty ultimately serves as a vehicle for personal connection.

“I love the kind of songs that are incredibly specific to the artist’s life, but when you listen it hits you right in the chest — almost like it’s happening to you,” says Wigdahl. “In my own music, I try to be as personal and vulnerable as I possibly can, so that everyone can feel like the song was made for them. I want them to feel like I’m narrating their story at the same time that I’m narrating mine.”

Based in L.A. but originally from outside Minneapolis, Wigdahl took up songwriting at the age of 15, initially using music as a form of therapy. After teaching himself to play guitar by watching videos of his favorite musicians, he put out a self-produced EP called On My Mind his senior year of high school. Upon graduating he headed to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music, but quickly dropped out and returned home to enroll at the University of Minnesota, compelled to continue with his D.I.Y. approach to music. Those instincts proved to be right on target when the Internet Money team reached out to Wigdahl after discovering his songs on social media. By the end of last summer, Wigdahl had signed his deal with 10K Projects and soon set to work on Strawberry.

Arlissa, 360 MAGAZINE

Arlissa – Healing

Arlissa, the London-bred singer-songwriter who last year ignited major buzz with a string of critically acclaimed singles, returns with “Healing,” available today via Def Jam Recordings. “Healing” is the newest advance track from Arlissa’s hotly anticipated debut album set to arrive in 2020.  “Healing,” co-written by Ryan Williamson and Kameron Alexander, was produced by Rykeyz.

The music video for “Healing,” also out today, “was super inspired by Ayahuasca,” said Arlissa. “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. It really helps you face your demons and raise your vibration. So with that in mind, the video is all about breaking free from all that binds you; It’s about growth, and rebirth; shedding your skin and becoming the person you were always meant to be.”

Arlissa’s defiant 2019 anthem “We Won’t Move” was included as one of two original compositions on the Def Jam soundtrack for The Hate U Give, the celebrated film adaptation of the Angie Thomas book. The song garnered early buzz when Arlissa debuted it at the movie’s Toronto Film Festival premiere, followed by performances on ABC’s Good Morning America, and Wendy Williams. Arlissa went on to feature on the Ariana Grande helmed soundtrack for last year’s Charlie’s Angels and pen R3HAB and Zayn’s hit song “Flames.”

Arlissa had been piling up a string of independent hits when Brit DJ/producer Jonas Blue’s electronic remix of “Hearts Ain’t Gonna Lie” broke through in early 2018.  She debuted the acoustic version of “Hearts Ain’t Gonna Lie” on NBC’s Today Show, as Elvis Duran’s Artist of the Month. The performance sent the song into viral overdrive, virtually tripling the worldwide streams and views of the original.

QUINCHO, 360 MAGAZINE

Quin NFN – All Blues

Austin, TX rapper Quin NFN has released a new single “All Blues,” out now on 10K Projects. The single will feature on his forthcoming QUINCHO EP, out March 27. QUINCHO is the follow up to Quin’s 2019 project, 4NUN, which has over 115 million US streams and was praised by the likes of Pitchfork, Complex, XXL, Genius, and more. Stream “All Blues” and pre-order the EP HERE.

Born in 2000 and raised in an area best known as “24” (NE Austin), Quin stated rhyming at six years old. Quin turned to rappers Cassidy and Lil Wayne for lyrical inspiration and fast-flowing, clever bars, and started to release videos online, gaining more and more regional traction with every release. The Austin rap scene came with its challenges but Quin stayed consistent and in November of 2018, posted the snippet for “Talkin’ My Shit”. The clip generated a million views within days, and caught the attention of the music press,  who began to credit Quin as one of the forerunners of the Austin rap scene. In 2019, after singing to Elliot Grainge’s 10K Projects, Quin released his debut album 4NUN, which features the critically acclaimed singles “Poles” and “Talkin’ My Shit” with over 14 and 15 million Spotify streams respectively.
