LALANA EXHIBITION

The LALANA Exhibition is an entirely original and provocative art concept that is currently on display in the Miami Design District, which presents art as people have never seen- or used- before. LALANA is a design initiative that works with modern and contemporary Argentine artists to reimagine their original artworks as functional pieces bred in local techniques and noble materials. The exhibition features three textile pieces based on artworks by Roberto Aizenberg alongside a floor piece and sculptural chair by Luis Fernando Benedit

These resulting pieces have been hand-woven artisanally in silk and wool or built as prototypes from sketches, enabling new ways of engagement with the artworks which can now be used, touched, and inhabited. Designed for those curious at heart, this exhibition sets your inner child free.

Architect, designer, and visual artist, Benedit began his career in the arts in the early sixties. He explored Informalism and Neo-figurative art, and later approached the aesthetics of Pop with bright solid colors and a hint of humor. In the seventies, he explored the connection between art, science, and nature. A recurring subject in Benedit’s work is the historical and cultural identity of Argentina. Parallel to his artistic and architectural career, he designed a vast variety of interiors and every-day items, such as lamps, tables, chairs, and other furniture. Conceived as unique pieces, they frequently feature materials and elements that evoke this local imagery, from a modern and often satirical point of view.

Aizenberg studied architecture for a year before devoting himself to painting. He joined the workshops of Antonio Berni and Juan Batlle Planas, both Surrealist pioneers in the Argentine art scene at the time. Architectural structures and geometrical shapes would soon become a key element in the development of a very personal iconography, rooted in surrealism and metaphysical painting. Throughout a five-decade-long career, he worked in multiple techniques, including oil painting, drawing, collage, etching, sculpture and jewelry design. The objects represented, with sharp edges and muted colors often resemble buildings or towers, with endless rows of tiny empty windows, much like ancient monuments or abandoned cities. They are set in unlikely landscapes, where the earth is a dark and reddish hue, against huge bright skies in gradients of blue, green or yellow, which might evoke those of Aizenberg’s birthplace in Entre Ríos. Often, the central feature of these enigmatic compositions are multi-faceted shapes -resembling fans or umbrellas- suspended in space. In others, it is curvilinear figures recognizable as human. Treading a fine line between figuration and abstraction, these striking images arouse feelings of uncertainty and existential uneasiness. The impossible combination of these elements create dreamlike atmospheres, sometimes peaceful, other times nostalgic, but in all cases unsettling, like an unapproachable symbolic language.

Sally Boy New Single "Like That" Cover Art via RCA Records for use by 360 MAGAZINE

SALLY BOY – LIKE THAT

Today, rising artist Sally Boy releases his new single, “like that,” out now via Loud Robot/RCA Records. The single follows the artist to watch’s latest run of hits including “true american” and “i love u,” and is off his forthcoming EP, Music 2 Crash 2, out August 24

The chilled-out single is a low-fi release that puts Sally Boy’s melodic vocals on full display, volleying back and forth between crooning choruses and his signature fast-paced, witty lyricism. The breezy alt-pop track echoes the easy-going, summer-soaked sounds fans can expect from his latest body of work later this month.

About Sally Boy

The Philadelphia-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter hit the scene in 2020 with his debut EP EREZ, all while being a senior at USC majoring in popular music and minoring in philosophy. The EP garnered numerous accolades, including features in WonderlandFlauntAmerican SongwriterOnes to Watch, and more, in addition to earning Sally Boy a placement on Pigeons & Planes’ ‘ Best New Artists’ list. He’s also garnered Spotify support, landing on anti pop, Indie Pop, Varsity Bars, young & free, idk playlists.

Self-acceptance is at the root of Sally Boy. Erez adopted the name after writing the song “Sally Boy,” his first real solo effort outside his work with his band. It’s a dreamy conversation with his younger self set to a beautiful acoustic guitar. As a child, Erez was sometimes teased for being soft. Emotional. Feminine. The bullshit machismo that young boys absorb and inflict on others made him feel stifled and strange. Like he didn’t belong. He tried to bury that side of himself and craft a persona that felt tougher, more masculine. But it wasn’t true. By dubbing himself Sally Boy, Erez dispenses with inauthentic self-presentation. His 2021 EP, Lies I Tell Myself, captures that tone perfectly.

Lies I Tell Myself is about lightness, energy, and unabashedly being yourself. Each song on the record contains at least one line in which he tells himself some half-truth to feel better. Despite the concept behind the project, Erez didn’t force anything during the songwriting. These are simply expressions of who he is and where he’s at. Sally Boy‘s music is playful, with drums that get into your system at the molecular level, forcing you to move; the lyrics have swagger, even when dabbling in self-deprecation. It’s an amusing celebration of accepting yourself, flaws and all.

THE HOUSE OF LUCIE

An Exhibition of the IDA Winners’ Photographs at The House of Lucie, Budapest

Budapest, Hungary –  The House of Lucie in Budapest will host an exhibition of a curated selection of photographs of extraordinary winning submissions from the International Design Awards (IDA) commencing on August 17.

The International Design Awards has become one of the leading design awards globally attracting thousands of entries from around the world.  The event was launched by the Farmani Group in 2007 to recognize, celebrate and promote legendary design visionaries and to uncover emerging design talent across five disciplines – Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic, and Fashion Design.

“ The IDA has always been about seeking out truly visionary designers.   We are delighted to invite you to this beautiful selection of fourty photographs of the IDA winners showcasing extraordinary diversity and imagination across the five IDA disciplines. ”  commented Jill Grinda, VP Marketing and Business Development for the IDA.

Jury member, Dawn Garcia, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, ATOD Magazine added, “Last year as I viewed the architecture and interior design submissions, it was like a wave of optimism, hope and ingenuity.  The way designers took such a difficult moment in time and used it to create projects that brought life and innovation to the very essence of their vision was truly inspiring. This year it felt like each designer and design firm put love into their work, more so than in any other years passed. It was an honor to view each and every one. COVID may have halted a lot of things, but it birthed creativity in ways I’ve never seen.”

The exhibition commences at the House of Lucie on the 17th of August, 2022 at 18:00 where attendees will gather in support of the talented international award winners, and will then be open to the public from 12:00-18:00 on Tuesdays and Fridays until the 9th of September.

GREG PAK – PLANET HULK: WORLDBREAKER

In 2006, writer Greg Pak along with artists Carlo Pagulayan and Aaron Lopresti crafted PLANET HULK, one of the most iconic stories to ever grace the pages of Incredible Hulk, and this November, Pak will return to this storyline in PLANET HULK: WORLDBREAKER! This five-issue limited series will take place a thousand years into the future and present a shocking expansion and culmination of the mythos of Sakaar. Pak will be joined by visionary Devil’s Reign artist Manuel Garcia.

Considered a modern Marvel masterpiece, PLANET HULK told the rousing story of Hulk’s time on the alien planet Sakaar after being exiled from Earth by the Illuminati. The epic story arc had a defining impact on Hulk that’s still felt today and went on to inspire spinoffs and media adaptations. Now, the saga continues…

A thousand years from now on the planet Sakaar, a young woman with green skin searches for the legendary Green Scar to help save her brother from a group of apocalyptic cultists. But which Hulk will she find? And after all these years, is he truly the Sakaarson, who will save us all — or the Worldbreaker, who will destroy us?

“Working on Planet Hulk remains one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had in storytelling,” Pak said. “So it was a huge thrill to get the call from editor Mark Paniccia inviting me to dive back in. What makes this story feel so special is that we’re going back to Sakaar a thousand years in the future. That’s opened up doors to do some spectacular worldbuilding with mindblowing art from Manuel Garcia, Cam Smith, and Chris Sotomayor. And we’re exploring big emotional stories that pay off the huge themes of the Hulk and the Green Scar that I’ve built over many years through all my Hulk stories. In a time of change and crisis, what do we do with the power we have, and how do we handle the terrifying repercussions? A thousand years from now, who knows where those questions will take us?”

Check out the cover by original PLANET HULK artist Carlo Pagulayan and return to Sakaar when PLANET HULK: WORLDBREAKER #1 arrives in November. For more information, visit Marvel.com.

Claudia Valentina New Single "Sweat" Cover Art via U Music Group for use by 360 MAGAZINE

CLAUDIA VALENTINA – SWEAT

UK artist Claudia Valentina has just dropped the steamy video for her new single “Sweat.”  The single is from her forthcoming EP “Foreign Affair” out September 9th.

Listen to “Sweat” HERE

Made with Lost Boy, Tom Mann and Digital Farm Animals, the track sees Claudia Valentina’s sultry vocals glide across the powerful track as she gives an insight of what to expect on her upcoming EP ‘Foreign Affair’. ‘Foreign Affair’ was recorded by Claudia Valentina while she traveled back and forth between London, Guernsey, and Los Angeles with a collection of producers and co-writers from various backgrounds. The EP explores relationships/situations that young women find themselves going through. For Claudia, whenever things would get too complicated in one place, she’d simply pick up and go to another.

Speaking on the EP Claudia says “I’m fascinated with different sounds from around the world and as I’m from a small island, I longed to get out of there and discover a new world of sounds since I was young. Growing up in London and LA has allowed me to be exposed to different types of music through the people I work with.   I’m inspired by the producers I work with and their own individual sounds and I learn so much about different cultures of music through them so I like to merge all these sounds together to create something that’s unique while putting my own musical stamp on everything to tie it all together. This EP is global sounding, it encompasses everything that has touched and inspired me in my life.”
Claudia Valentina, a confident 21-year-old superstar-in-waiting, is ready to become the new dominant force on the pop landscape. Born and raised in Guernsey, a small, picturesque island between England and France, Claudia spent her formative years singing, dancing and looking for any and every opportunity that would propel her into the music industry. After scoring her first break at age 10 in a production of Billy Elliot, she convinced her mother to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music full-time. In the studio, she began to hone her craft with some of the most prolific pop producers in the business, with many of those sessions laying the groundwork for her self-titled EP, which was released in 2020. Her debut single “Seven” has amassed over 10 million streams across all platforms, with Billboard calling it a “stunning debut track” and TIME naming it one of “The Best New Songs of June 2020.”  Her single “4:15” received over 200K streams in its first week of release, with I-D proclaiming it “an absolute smash.” In addition to being selected by MTV UK as one of their Push artists for 2021, Claudia was named an artist to watch by British GQHypebae and PEOPLE.  Earlier this year, Claudia released “C’est La Vie,” the first off her new EP “Foreign Affair” coming in Sept 2022, giving us a taste of the energy and bangers to come.

Earlier this spring, BENEE dropped her latest EP Lychee to widespread critical acclaim, with UPROXX declaring, “Her music demands to be put on repeat,” and Ones To Watch proclaiming, “Lychee has introduced us to a new era of BENEE, and we are entirely here for it.” BENEE set the stage for the EP with the singles “Doesn’t Matter” and “Beach Boy.” To bring the Lychee EP to life, she worked with collaborators on both sides of the Pacific Ocean. In California, she found herself working on songs with Greg KurstinKenny Beats, and Rostam. Working back home in New Zealand, she completed more tracks with her regular collaborator Josh Fountain. As a whole, Lychee showcases BENEE’s evolution as an eloquent and artful voice for Gen-Z — pushing boundaries and fearless enough not to compromise her creativity or spirit.

BENEE’s dreamy alt-pop mixes her deeply heartfelt reflections on life in suburban Auckland, New Zealand with offbeat and often whimsical lyrical twists, all produced with a technicolor ear for cooked beats and unpredictable hooks. The 22-year-old broke through in 2020 with “Supalonely,” her global hit with 4 billion streams, and her follow-up Hey u x debut album was a vibrant musical world with guests ranging from Grimes and Lily Allen to Gus Dapperton and Muroki (another New Zealand teen BENEE has since signed to her own label, Olive). It was listed as one of Billboard’s “25 Best Pop Albums of 2020,” noting that BENEEcontemplates the woes of Gen Z with a keen ear for choruses and arrangements that oscillate between indie rock and hyperpop.” Stereogum praised its “quirky but impeccably produced pop music” and Vogue called it “13 tracks of heavenly indie-alt-pop.”

BENEE is the dreamy voice of a disaffected generation who broke through in 2020 with “Supalonely,” her irresistible, four billion streaming alt-pop banger that practically defined the pandemic experience. Twenty-two-year-old Stella Bennett mixes her deeply heartfelt reflections on life in suburban Auckland, New Zealand with offbeat and often whimsical lyrical notions, all produced with a technicolor ear for cooked beats and unpredictable hooks. A fervent online following were drawn to BENEE’s two intriguing EP releases, FIRE ON MARZZ and STELLA & STEVE, before her guest-packed, yet highly personal, Hey u x album was released at the tail end of 2020. The album was a vibrant musical world with guests ranging from Grimes and Lily Allen to Gus Dapperton and Muroki (another New Zealand teen BENEE has since signed to her own label, Olive). It was listed as one of Billboard’s “25 Best Pop Albums of 2020,” noting that BENEEcontemplates the woes of Gen Z with a keen ear for choruses and arrangements that oscillate between indie rock and hyperpop.” Stereogum praised its “quirky but impeccably produced pop music” and Vogue called it “13 tracks of heavenly indie-alt-pop.” Platinum Awards piled up around the globe, and she performed “Supalonely” — live from New Zealand — on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonEllen, and Late Night with Seth Meyers and recorded a heartfelt live version of album opener “Happen To Me” for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. A year on, BENEE returns with her 2022 Lychee EP, with her song “Doesn’t Matter” revealing the singer’s journey through the emotional clatter of 2021. BROOKS LAKE LODGE

Brooks Lake Lodge & Spa is Making News and Topping Multiple Best All-Inclusive Resort Lists at 100 Years Old

Historic Brooks Lake Lodge may be celebrating its centennial anniversary in 2022, but the exclusive Wyoming guest ranch continues to top a variety of “best of” lists, revealing that at 100 years old, the rustic-luxe Western all-inclusive getaway continues to impress the media. Recently receiving kudos as a best family-friendly resort and a best all-inclusive resort in the U.S.—plus a birthday shout-out from Cowboys & Indians magazine—the remote ranch keeps the grand tradition of the great Western lodge alive.

Brooks Lake Lodge & Spa has been known for providing unique hospitality for guests at its lakeside location near Jackson Hole, Wyoming, since 1922, when it was constructed as a stopover for travelers headed to Yellowstone National Park. Now, not even a year after earning “best all-inclusive U.S. resort” kudos from Reader’s Digest and U.S. News & World Report, the remote guest ranch hidden deep in the Shoshone National Forest boasts fresh recognition from additional travel media. It’s true the century-old lodge makes quite an impression, instantly transporting guests back to a time where the pace is a little slower and the views a lot longer—a 360-degree panorama of mountains, forest and lakes to be exact. And superb meals, outdoor adventure, nature-connected relaxation and VIP service are included in overnight stays, helping spark the recent “best of” honors.

In its new “17 Best Family-Friendly All-Inclusive Resorts in the United States” list, Trips to Discover highlights the guest ranch as a “great base for families who want to take advantage of the region’s wealth of outdoor adventures among breathtaking scenery.” As the lodge has witnessed, families love the “less tech, more trek” vibe as nature hikes and horseback riding reign supreme over iPads and screen time. New families quickly adapt to the ranch lifestyle and kids love the fishing, archery and yard games with many families making a trip to Brooks Lake Lodge an annual event – often a reunion of generations.

While Mexico and the Caribbean are famous for their luxurious all-inclusive options, “many people don’t realize that some of the best all-inclusive hotels are actually located in the United States,” writes travel website SmarterTravel, presenting its new list of “The Best All-Inclusive Resorts in the United States.” Noting Brooks Lake Lodge’s standing on the National Register of Historic Places, SmarterTravel praises the lodge experience as “luxury within seclusion” and calls out the “perfect blend of peace and adventure” – with everything from fly fishing and canoeing in summer to snowmobiling in winter as part of an amenity-filled all-inclusive stay. Adding to the amenities, it doesn’t hurt that the lodge boasts an on-site spa where guests can enjoy a deep tissue massage after a day of exploring the mountains, as well as farm-to-table meals and gourmet dinner served fireside in an expansive dining hall that also hosts a notable collection of Western art.

This year Brooks Lake Lodge opens its doors to summer season guests July 6 – September 18, 2022, while celebrating its impressive centennial birthday (and the celebration continues through winter season, which begins December 19). Congratulating the lodge on the milestone 100-year anniversary, Cowboys & Indians magazine recently praised that “The all-inclusive historic resort in Dubois, Wyoming, recalls the grand tradition of the great Western lodge.”

“It’s always so nice to be recognized for our all-inclusive resort experience,” says General Manager Matthew Tousignant. “Our 1:1 staff-to-guest ratio allows everyone to have VIP service and attention. It’s so fulfilling to see our guests arrive, take on new adventures, eat, drink, relax—and eventually return to their lives enriched by the beauty, the history, the fun and the simpler, more peaceful lifestyle we offer at Brooks Lake Lodge.”

About Brooks Lake Lodge & Spa
Brooks Lake Lodge & Spa, a 100-year-old historic guest ranch celebrating its centennial in 2022, is located in Wyoming’s Shoshone National Forest near Jackson Hole, Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Surrounded by evergreen forests next to alpine Brooks Lake, the exclusive, all-inclusive Rocky Mountain resort offers five-star service, luxury accommodations and gourmet dining. The lodge enjoys frequent media acclaim, including as a “Top All-Inclusive Family Resort in the U.S.” by Reader’s Digest, and one of the “20 Best All-Inclusive Resorts in the U.S” by U.S. News & World Report in 2021, a best place to “Lean into Winter” by Travel + Leisure in 2020 and a 2018 “Best Lake Resort” by National Geographic Traveler. MAR-A-LAGO

People For Statement on FBI Search at Mar-a-Lago

Following news that FBI agents executed a search warrant at former president Donald Trump’s Florida home, Mar-a-Lago, today, People For the American Way President Ben Jealous released the following statement:

“The search of former president Trump’s home is a very serious matter. We do not know what evidence the FBI was seeking at Mar-a-Lago, but we do know that obtaining a search warrant requires a judge to have determined there is probable cause to believe there is evidence of a crime at the location being searched, and is unprecedented in the case of a former U.S. president. We also know that the National Archives discovered months ago that the former president mishandled classified documents by removing them from the White House to his Florida home, and that there have been numerous reports of his mishandling classified material while in office. The bottom line is this: tonight’s news reaffirms that in our American democracy, no one is above the law. That includes Donald Trump, even if his behavior often suggests he believes otherwise.”
