William Grant & Sons – National Chocolate Day Cocktail Recipes

  • Chocolate Julep

Ingredients: 2 parts Fistful of Bourbon, ¼ part Simple Syrup, 4 dashes Chocolate Bitters and 8 mint leaves

Method: Break mint in half and add all ingredients into a julep glass or rocks glass. Fill with crushed ice and swizzle. Top off with ice and garnish with grated chocolate and a mint bouquet

  • Spiked Chocolate Milkshake

Ingredients: 2 parts Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, 2 parts milk, 1 large scoop of chocolate ice cream and your favorite chocolate candy of choice (M&M’s or Reese’s Pieces)

Method: Blend together Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, milk, ice cream, and chocolate with a little ice until it’s a smooth thick consistency. Serve in a tall glass with a paper straw. Garnish with more of the chocolate pieces on top.

  • Select Old Fashioned

Ingredients: 2 Parts Milagro Select Añejo, ½ part agave nectar, 1 dash mole bitters, 1 dash chocolate bitters and an orange peel

Method: Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice and stir until cold. Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube and garnish with a flamed orange peel. 

  • Fistful Ice Cream Sundae

Ingredients: 1.5 parts Fistful of Bourbon, 1 cup Vanilla Ice Cream, 1 half part whole milk, Whipped Cream and a Maraschino Cherry

Method: Place pint glass in the freezer to chill for 30 minutes. Add the bourbon, ice cream, and milk to a blender. Add two ice cubes, and blend until smooth. Pour into a prepared pint glass. Add whipped cream + cherry on top. Serve immediately.

JAJA Mango Shandy

JAJA Mango Shandy via America Exposure for use by 360 Magazine
  • 1 ½ oz. JAJA Blanco
  • 1 ½ oz. mango juice
  • Mexican lager, to top

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a rocks glass with ice and a Tajín rim. Garnish with a slice of mango. 

1800 Smoky Coconut Sour

1800 Smoky Coconut Sour via America Exposure for use by 360 Magazine
  • 2 oz. 1800 Coconut 
  • ¾ oz. lemon juice
  • ¼ oz. chipotle-infused agave
  • ½ oz. coconut water
  • 8 drops Memphis BBQ bitters
  • Bar spoon of grenadine

Directions: Combine tequila, lemon juice, chipotle-infused agave, coconut water, bitters, and grenadine in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a double rocks glass with fresh ice. Garnish with an orange wheel and maraschino cherry. 

JAJA Watermelon Limeade

JAJA Watermelon Limeade via America Exposure for use by 360 Magazine
  • 1 ½ oz. JAJA Blanco
  • 2 oz. limeade
  • Watermelon spiked seltzer, to top

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a highball glass with ice and a salt rim. Garnish with a watermelon wedge. 

1800 Coconut Ginger Mint Lemonade

1800 Coconut Ginger Mint Lemonade via America Exposure for use by 360 Magazine
  • 2 oz 1800 Coconut Tequila
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • .5 oz simple syrup
  • .25 oz homemade ginger juice 
  • 3-4 piece of mint Soda water

Directions: In a highball glass, combine 1800 Coconut Tequila, fresh lemon juice, simply syrup and homemade ginger juice. Top with soda water and with mint.

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz (1/2 cup) grapefruit juice
  • 2 oz (1/4 cup) Chase Elderflower Liqueur
  • Ice cubes
  • 6 oz (3/4 cup) Cavit Prosecco
  • 2 grapefruit wedges
  • 2 edible flowers

How to mix:

Divide grapefruit juice and liqueur between 2 glasses; fill glasses with ice cubes; top with Prosecco. Garnish each serving with grapefruit wedge and an edible flower.

Tip: Edible flowers can be found in gourmet food markets in the produce section with herbs or can be ordered and purchased online.

National Whiskey Sour Day x Jameson Black Barrel

With National Whiskey Sour Day (8/25) fast approaching, a cool, refreshing Jameson Black Barrel is the perfect way to celebrate! By mixing Irish whiskey and lemon juice with egg white and your choice of bitters, the Jameson Classic Whiskey Sour is a delicious cocktail that, to this day, is still one of the most famous after-dinner cocktails around the world. Made with Jameson Black Barrel, the Jameson recipe gives an added bonus of enhanced spiciness, vanilla sweetness, and sherry fruit in what is already a very tasty cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Parts of Jameson Black Barrel
  • 1 Part of freshly-squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 Part sugar syrup
  • 1/2 Part of egg white
  • 3 Parts of your choice of bitters
  • Cherry or lemon twist for garnish

Method:

  • Fill a shaker with ice
  • Add 2 Parts Jameson Black Barrel
  • Add 1 Part freshly-squeezed lemon juice
  • Add 1/2 Part sugar syrup
  • Add 1/2 Part egg white
  • Add 3 Parts bitters
  • Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass
  • Garnish with a lemon twist

Independence Day D’USSE Cocktails

D’USSE Cognac should be top-of-mind for the Fourth of July holiday. Below is the cocktail recipe for a refreshing summer sipper that’s perfect to make this Independence Day weekend, called the D’USSE Watermelon Spritz.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 parts D’USSE VSOP
  • 0.5 part Aperol
  • 2 parts fresh watermelon juice
  • 0.5 part simple syrup
  • 0.5 part fresh lemon juice
  • 1 part Sparkling Wine

Garnish

  • ​Watermelon ball skewer & orange peel

Method

Add D’USSE, Aperol, watermelon juice, simple syrup and lemon juice into a shaker with ice.  Shake and strain into an ice filled wine glass.  Top with Sparkling Wine.  Garnish with a watermelon ball skewer and orange peel.
