The Royale – Supro

A new chapter in Supro history is arriving with the release of the “Royale” combo amp. The Royale 1×12 is the brands first loud clean amp and has ranges between a Class A and Class AB power mode.

The Royale was created to deliver powerful and clear clean tone with a reactive, tangible low end. With the use of a high-headroom, 50W tube amplifier paired with a powerful EG, footswitchable boost, tube-buffered effects loop and tube-driven spring reverb, the Royale provides a clear signal of all that is played through it on stage and in-studio.

The mighty amp in the Royale allows for a choice of Class A (35W) or Class AB (50W) operation. The Royale also showcases a master volume that controls sound pressure level. Class A mode produces “traditional, cathode-biased Supro sound with a bold, spongy midrange.” Class AB “delivers a grid-biased California sound with more scooped mid-range, tighter bass and faster transient response.”

Basquiat × Art Basel

Fat Joe, French Montana, Busta Rhymes, and D-Nice all hit the Triller × The Bishop Gallery physical and digital curated experience during Miami’s Art Basel for the historic first-ever live NFT auction of rare photos of Jean-Michel Basquiat, a legendary neo-expressionist artist, by photographers Alexis Adler and Al Diaz.

Our Friend Jean NFT Auction, was an exclusive event of art, music along with a live NFT auction experience. For the first time, an incredible selection of NFTs featuring rare and personal photos of Basquiat were available on the Triller marketplace, a trailblazing AI-powered global platform, with exclusive previews and purchase opportunities onsite. The Bishop Gallery chose the Triller NFT marketplace because the Triller platform has been specifically engineered to minimize the minting process’s computing costs and complexities to reduce the carbon footprint effects and provide accessibility for creators looking to monetize through NFT sales.

The photos of Basquiat being introduced to the blockchain, gave the world a chance to own a piece of the man that made the art movement of the early 80s New York City so electric. The blowout event featured performances from hip hop royalty.

Fat Joe first took the stage to perform and welcomed Stevenson A. Dunn, Jr. from The Bishop Gallery to introduce the first ever seen NFT drop, which included four rare photos of Basquiat. Next, Busta Rhymes came out to perform and lastly, French Montana performed a set while DJ D-Nice spun the entire night.

Next up after Art Basel, Triller x The Bishop Gallery in partnership with NYX Professional Makeup will present the “Our Friend, Jean-HBCU Tour,” and exhibition that will embark on a tour to eight HBCU (Historically Black Colleges/Universities) schools. The tour will kick off in early 2022 and land in eight cities, where Adler will appear to share the works from the Alexis Adler Archive, featuring works from Basquiat and potential art donations to the schools. Together, Triller, Bishop Gallery, and NYX Pm, have artistry for all that has been at the core, and strive to bring accessibility to the arts and self-expression to younger generations.

BRUNO MARTINI REMAKES BRING ME TO LIFE

Bruno Martini was still a teenager when Amy Lee’s voice conquered the world with “Fallen”, Evanescence’s first album. The hit “Bring Me to Life”, was one of the songs on the album, and marked a generation becoming one of the band’s biggest hits. Now, 18 years later, fans of the group can get a remake of the iconic song by the hands of Bruno Martini. Invited by David Hodges, former Evanescence’s member and one of the authors of “Bring Me to Life”, Bruno brings the song back to the scene with a whole new look. Listen to it here

The music video features Brazilian actress Vanessa Giácomo sharing the stage with Martini on a story filled with fiction and lights. Vanessa appears with a futuristic look inside a pyramid, matching its aesthetics with the new sound Bruno brought to the song. The music video was shot in the countryside of São Paulo.

The idea of bringing new life to the song came from David Hodges during the pandemic. The musician contacted Martini’s team, who soon accepted the challenge of working on the song that marked his teenage years. The new “Bring Me to Life” has David Hodges on the vocals, bringing a nostalgic feeling to the project. David’s voice was crafted by Bruno, who brought new contours to the track, creating a more modern sound with an electronic atmosphere.

BRUNO´S HITS

Bruno Martini is becoming one of the go-to producers in Brazil. With an extensive resume playing on some of the biggest festivals around the world, he has worked with stars such as Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Becky Hill. He was the first Brazilian artist to make work with the legendary American producer Timbaland. His numbers are impressive. He has over 1.3 billion streams on Spotify, more than 600 million views on YouTube, and Diamond, Platinum, and Gold certificates worldwide. He has worked with some of today’s biggest Brazilian acts such as Luísa Sonza, IZA, Alok, Vitor Kley, Dennis DJ, and many more.

Recently, Bruno released the song “Where’d U Go” featuring Cat Dealers. He also remixed the iconic song from Netflix hit series “La Casa de Papel”, “Bella Ciao,” invited by the actress Najwa Rimri, who plays inspector Alicia Sierra in the series. Earlier this year, Bruno released “Original,” a 17-track full album, filled with female voices, such as IZA, Becky Hill, Luísa Sonza, Mayra, Carol Biazin and ex-Now United’s Diarra Sylla. The album still brings a collab with Bruno’s longtime friend and music partner Zeeba, whose voice became famous on Bruno Martini’s worldwide hit “Hear Me Now”.

LIDS EXPANDS TO EUROPE

LEADING SPORTS RETAILER OPENING FOUR DEBUT STANDALONE STORES IN THE UK IN DECEMBER

Leading sports retailer, Lids is expanding its brick-and-mortar retail presence internationally with the opening of its first standalone stores in Europe. For its European debut, Lids will open four locations throughout the London metropolitan area: Seven Dials (now open) and The 02 Peninsula Square in London, Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex, and Churchill Square Shopping Centre Russel Place in Brighton, all opening in December.

Each store will mimic the immersive shopping experience of extensive licensed and branded merchandise Lids has long been known for. Products at each store will include a vast assortment of major U.S. league team products from MLB, NFL, and NBA, among others, as well as items from go-to brands including Adidas, New Era Cap, ’47, Mitchell & Ness, Hurley, Oakley, Local Crowns, and more. Each store will also feature Lids’ signature Custom Zones, which allows consumers the opportunity to custom embroider a hat or apparel piece of their choice in-store, including from the retailer’s numerous options of player numbers and autographs.

The expansion into the UK is strategic from Lids as the retailer looks to further expand its international footprint moving forward. “London is a natural fit for Lids. The enthusiasm for both American sports and street wear aligns with our on-field and fashion focused hat and jersey assortment. We are excited to bring our brand and product to market,” says Britten Maughan, President of Lids. Through these four retail openings, Lids is expected to create several new jobs in the London market.

The London store openings are the first of many planned from Lids heading into 2022 as the retailer looks to double down on its global footprint. “Expanding in the UK is our top priority at Lids,” says Tom Ripley, Chairman and CEO of Lids and Partner Co-Founder at Ames Watson, the parent company to Lids. “Lids has become one of the strongest retailers in North America and we’re thrilled to take this growth internationally as we look to open 100+ standalone Lids stores in new markets. There has already been great success with the London NBA store operated by Lids since its grand opening earlier this year, and we are excited to introduce standalone Lids stores to an even larger audience of British customers.”

News of this international growth follows the retailer’s exponential growth into a billion-dollar business since being acquired by Ames Watson in 2019. To date, Lids operates nearly 2,000 stores throughout the U.S. and Canada, including through its ongoing retail partnerships with Macy’s and Designer Brands. Lids also operates the newly opened National Hockey League (NHL) flagship store in New York City as well as the National Basketball Association (NBA) flagship stores in New York City and London. Lids is the world’s largest retailer specializing in the sale of officially licensed and branded headwear with over 30 million hats sold annually.

About Lids

MILLENNIUM IMAGES NEWEST PHOTOGRAPHERS

CHANEL IRVINE

We are proud to showcase the work of Chanel Irvine, a new contributor. As a documentary photographer, Chanel’s practice seeks to portray the power of human initiative, connection and contribution. Inspired by the importance of constructive, solution-based journalism, she embraces visual communication that empowers readers and subjects alike. Her stories often focus on livelihoods, environments and communities that are susceptible to change based on emerging trends, development demands and environmental pressures. Aware of the multitude of sustainability issues they face, she is particularly interested in the people and organisations who are working to make a positive environmental and social impact in their communities.

Using a retrospective lens, Chanel’s more personal work similarly reflects this tension between preservation and change. With an eye for moments she deems timeless, her observations consistently focus on scenes that are reminiscent of older, simpler times, which persist seemingly unaffected by the advancements that otherwise transform the world we live in. As a result, her photographs accentuate the “ordinary” – reasserting its importance as a photographic subject and highlighting the beauty that can constantly be rediscovered in the everyday.

ALISON McCAULEY

In ‘anywhere but here’, Alison McCauley expresses the restless feeling that has haunted her throughout her life: that the place she is in isn’t where she should be, and a conviction that the next place will be better. Taken from 2008 to the present, these images—taken in various locations around the world—are a deeply personal reflection of the artist’s emotions, photography being a cathartic means of coming to terms with her constant desire to move. As someone who has always led a semi-nomadic lifestyle, McCauley seeks to explore the idea of not belonging. Though she feels like she is supposed to belong somewhere, McCauley doesn’t want to, as she recognises that it is the wonder of this belonging that is the impetus behind her work.

Devoid of geographical and temporal reference points, the images are figuratively and literally blurred to emphasise that this is not about a location or time, but rather a state of mind. For the viewer the series takes on a narrative of its own, unfolding like a dream sequence: a body submerged in water, a flurry of balloons released into the open sky, city lights streaming through a hotel room, and fleeting scenes captured from a car window. Just as she is drawn to movement, it is these liminal spaces that the artist gravitates towards – the chaos, the stillness, and the magic in between. “The work comes from reality, but it’s a reality that’s distorted by subjectivity,” says McCauley. “It’s an expression of my state of mind during these restless off-moments.”

U2 Releases Achtung Baby 30th Anniversary Vinyl + Digital Box Set

“[Achtung Baby]… U2’s daring descent into darkness” – Robert Hilburn, LA Times

360 readers should check out both the vinyl release and the never-before seen tracks from the new 50-track digital box set that was released on December 3, 2021!

Island Records, Interscope, and UMe announced the 30th Anniversary Edition release of U2’s seminal album Achtung Baby, which will see a special Standard and Deluxe vinyl release on November 19, ahead of a 50-track digital boxset available December 3, 2021.

Thirty years ago, Bono described Achtung Baby as “the sound of four men chopping down The Joshua Tree” while Jon Pareles of the New York Times wrote that “stripped-down and defying its old formulas, U2 has given itself a fighting chance for the 1990’s”. The album won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance and became one of the most significant records of the nineties and of U2’s career.

Recorded over six months at Hansa Studio in Berlin and Windmill Lane in Dublin, Achtung Baby is U2’s seventh studio album. Produced by long-time U2 collaborators Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno with Steve Lillywhite, Achtung Baby was engineered by Flood and released on November 18, 1991. Lead by The Fly, four other singles followed: Mysterious Ways, One, Even Better Than The Real Thing, and Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses. Watch HERE.

The bonnet of the Trabant will be auctioned at Phillips, London, on December 9, as part of their New Now sale, with proceeds going to the Berlin Institute for Sound and Music.

Achtung Baby (30th Anniversary Edition) is available on Standard black vinyl and Deluxe color vinyl on November 19, with Achtung Baby (2018 Remaster) and Achtung Baby (Unter Remixes) also available digitally that day. A 50-track digital boxset – to include Uber Remixes, Unter Remixes, B-Sides with 22 tracks never-before available digitally – will be released on December 3, 2021.

U2 X-Radio, the band’s SiriusXM channel, will this month present an Achtung Baby special to include interviews with band members and album collaboration Daniel Lanois, Flood, and Anton Corbijn.

Ghostface Killah Releases NFT

Miami Art Week VIP event will feature WuTang Founder’s 1lb Gold Eagle Bracelet Now Melted into a Solid Gold Coin, Backed by NFT Video

Veteran Art Dealer Avery Andon, has launched a highly curated Art NFT platform and marketplace, ArtGrails. In an epic hip-hop power move, Andon, an artist manager and lifelong advisor to some of Hollywood’s most elite celebrities & art-collectors, has paired hip-hop legend and WuTang Clan founding member, Ghostface Killah, with world-renowned jeweler, Jason Arasheben, aka Jason of Beverly Hills

The two have melted down Ghostface Killah’s “Golden Eagle Bracelet,” an iconic piece of hip-hop history, turning the one pound 24k solid gold bracelet into a giant one pound gold coin, minted as an NFT. The original was created by jeweler to the stars, Jason Arasheben, better known as Jason of Beverly Hills, whose clients include LeBron James, Drake, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Mariah Carey, J-Lo, and more.

On November 30th, the coin and an NFT video of the bracelet being melted and minted, is available as one exclusive set (ultimately available to only one buyer) via auction on the ArtGrails platform. To kick off the launch of the platform and the beginning of Art Basel 2021, ArtGrails hosted an invite-only VIP viewing event, art show, and kick-off party on November 30th in the design district of Miami. No part of the exclusive ‘minting event’ video will be posted online by ArtGrails, leaving the auction winner the power to decide if the ultra-exclusive NFT-backed video becomes available for public viewing elsewhere.

Ghostface Killah’s solid 24k Gold Eagle Bracelet is an emblem of hip-hop history, and now, in a display that is quintessentially ‘2021’, someone other than Ghostface will be able to own the iconic WuTang member’s bling –– only in the form of a one-of-a-kind gold coin created from the melted bracelet. The coin comes with an NFT video featuring Ghostface and Jason of Beverly Hills melting the eagle bracelet and transforming it into the 1lb coin.

Arasheben has pushed the boundaries with an immutable impact on hip-hop history by eliminating one iconic piece and creating another. For the first time, his creation combines the tangible and digital world. Together, Ghostface Killah and Arasheben have taken performance art, the entire concept of ‘collectible jewelry’ and non-fungible token and smashed all barriers and preconceptions to create the one-of-a-kind set. The lucky auction winner will have the opportunity to work with Arasheben to further customize the coin in case a necklace chain or other custom mount is desired.

Avery Andon, the founder of ArtGrails, had the idea to pair Ghostface Killah with Jason of Beverly Hills for this legendary piece. He is the lead curator on the majority of the platform’s upcoming NFT drops, which feature equally compelling artists, celebrities, and collectibles. The ArtGrails’ ArtBasel event is a culmination of months of hard work by Andon, not only with the Ghostface project but also because he has had a large hand in creating and developing the technology behind ArtGrails.

“This auction features some of the most monumental custom NFTs ever created, which required a platform that provides a truly custom experience for delivering high-end art,” said Avery Andon, Founder and CEO of ArtGrails. “With NFTs en route to becoming an industry standard, ArtGrails pushes the industry forward, demonstrating that the future of fine art and collectibles goes beyond paper certificates of authenticity; therefore raising the standard for art buyers, owners, and dealers.”

The ArtBasel Miami kickoff party and VIP event on Friday, December 3rd represents a large milestone for ArtGrails. The pieces on display at the ArtBasel event will all be tangible wall pieces. The physical art will only be sold along with its accompanying NFT. It can not be resold or bought without the NFT, immutably tying the real world artwork to the blockchain ledger.

The singular 1:1 set made up of the Ghostface Killah Gold Coin and the NFT Video of the melting eagle bracelet will open for auction on ArtGrails beginning at 5:00PM EST on November 30th and will run until 5pm EST on December 5th. The coin and video will be on display in Miami for the duration of the time. The ArtGrails launch event will also showcase a pair of NFT 3D Illustrations that will be minted in limited numbers beginning on Monday, December 6th on the ArtGrails platform.

In addition to the Ghostface Killah NFTs and Coin, the event will feature other renowned NFT and contemporary artists including Cory Van Lew, Matt Gondek, Javier Martin, and Anthony James.

To learn more about ArtGrails and to participate in the online NFT auctions, please visit the ArtGrails website at ArtGrails.
