Jacob Hopkins, 360 MAGAZINE

Jacob Hopkins

The Goldbergs (ABC)

Dragons: Rescue Riders (Netflix)

The Amazing World of Gumball (Cartoon Network)

For Jacob Hopkins, acting is the family business. Born in Los Angeles, Jacob was discovered at the age of five when he accompanied his Dad, who is an actor, to a meeting with his agent. Taken with his blue eyes and easy charm, the agent asked, “Who is this and does he want to act?” Within weeks of this encounter he was cast in his first role, as the charming and curious little boy Brian in the film, The Minis. Soon after, he booked the first of several national commercials including an ad for Kmart opposite the angelic Jaclyn Smith.

Jacob’s big break came when he landed a role on the fifth season of the popular HBO series True Blood. In the critically acclaimed show, Jacob played Alexander Drew, the youngest (looking) member of the Vampire Authority. Having turned at the age of nine, his character was an impetuous vamp who liked to taunt those around him. Jacob shared the screen with fellow Authority chancellors Christopher Meloni, Peter Mensah, and Carolyn Hennesy as well as lead actors Alexander Skarsgard and his Priest co-star Stephen Moyer.

At eighteen, he is making his mark in the voice over world. He can currently be heard on Netflix’s Dragons: Rescue Riders as Axel Finke. The show is a spin off of the fan favorite movie, How to Train Your Dragon. He also honed his comedic chops as the voice of Gumball Watterson in Cartoon Network’s animated hit The Amazing World of Gumball, one of his favorite shows. The BAFTA Award-winning series chronicles the adventures of an amusing twelve-year-old cat with a fair for misadventure, and his extraordinary suburban family, who live in constant conflict with their ordinary town. The second highest-rated cartoon on the network, Gumball has been praised for its “first-rate silliness” and “really clever spin on domestic chaos” by Variety.

Jacob is definitely no stranger to the small screen. Following his success on True Blood, he landed a recurring role on ABC’s The Goldbergs. In this hilarious comedy, Jacob plays Chad Kremp, who is a cool and preppy kid on the surface, but a geek at heart. His character becomes instant friends with Adam Goldberg (Sean Giambrone) as they share a love for all things geeky. The series also stars Jeff Garlin and Wendi McLendon-Covey. Jacob was also seen in the Lifetime Movie Missing at 17, which tells the poignant tale of the struggles a family faces when their teenage daughter goes missing. As the younger brother Andrew, Jacob plays a pivotal role in helping his parents find his missing sister. Other notable television credits include guest roles on CBS’s How I Met Your Mother as well as NBC’s About A Boy and Animal Practice.

Jacob has also ventured on to the big screen. His first feature film was Priest, where he had a small but memorable role opposite Paul Bettany and Stephen Moyer. Jacob also lent his talents to the short film The Boy Who Cried Fish, where he gave a moving performance as an autistic child. Jacob’s performance was praised by fans and critics alike, earning him a “Best Male Performer” award at the Action on Film Festival. In Just a Little Heart Attack he played the very smart son of Elizabeth Banks, who also directed the project. Most recently, he starred as the supporting lead in CBS Films Middle School: Worst Years of My Life as Miller. Jacob further showcased his acting prowess in two web series. He was cast in RCVR, which was honored as Best Drama Web Series at the 2012 International Academy of Web Television Awards and Supermoms, where he co-starred opposite Joey Lauren Adams.

Jacob’s versatility, talent and intelligence allow him to bring such wonderful characters to life. One of his fellow actors proclaims, “Jacob is one amazing and talented kid. A real pro.” He has established himself as a multidimensional actor who is sure to have a bright future in the industry. Jacob resides in Los Angeles with his parents and older brother, Gerad. He is an accomplished martial artist and enjoys Taekwondo. In his spare time, Jacob loves to play sports, read, draw, and spend time with family and friends.

Pearl Jam – “Gigaton” Debut

PEARL JAM’S CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED GIGATON DEBUTS AS #1 ROCK ALBUM

“Pearl Jam come roaring back with a superb new album.” – Associated Press

“Pearl Jam Combine Fury and Maturity on Gigaton.” – Rolling Stone

“Pearl Jam’s best in a generation.” – Paste Magazine

“Their legacy will remain set.” – Stereogum

Pearl Jam’s Gigaton has been hailed “superb”, “fascinating and ambitious”, “inspiring and engaging”, “their finest studio hour” and “Pearl Jam’s best in a generation.” The critics and fans alike have praised the bands latest release and it has now bowed at #1 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums Chart this week. Additionally, it landed in the Top 5 of the Billboard Top 200. Internationally the album debuted #1 in Italy and Austria, Top 5 in Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, Germany, Belgium, Norway, Canada, and Finland and Top 10 in the UK, Ireland, and New Zealand.

At Metacritic, Gigaton registered the group’s second highest cumulative critical score—only bested by their diamond-certified 1991 debut, Ten. Among numerous positive reactions, Associated Press exclaimed, “Pearl Jam come roaring back with superb new album.” In a four-out-of-five star review, Rolling Stone wrote, “The group has blended the miasmic angst of ‘Jeremy’ and ‘Alive’ with a sense of tenderness and even flashes of hope.” UPROXX promised, “Pearl Jam is reliable on ‘Gigaton’ at a moment when nothing else is,” and Spin christened it “Their best album since the late nineties.”

Opening up about the album, Eddie Vedder and Jeff Ament appeared on the
Bill Simmons Podcast for a marathon two-hour interview. Check it out HERE.

Speaking on their eagerness to return to the road, Vedder said:

“We’re kind of reclusive by nature. So, in some ways it feels normal to be away from people, that’s not necessarily out of my wheelhouse…but I just keep thinking that first time we’ll be in front of people, it’s even hard to imagine when or how, it’s going to be different. It’s not like we didn’t appreciate it before, it’s just even tenfold.” Regarding the seven-year creative journey to Gigaton, he revealed: “It grew on its own. It just started different, and it ended different, and everything that happened in the middle was different, and that’s what felt great about it. At some point, we had to finish. At some point, we zeroed in and thought, ‘Okay, I think we got this and now let’s nail these bits and pieces” …This last fall we really leaned in heavy and hard and gave ourselves a little bit of a deadline finally, which was cool, I thought it was very mature and grown-up of us to say, ‘Okay, now let’s actually finish! That can be the hard part’…After all of that fun, now we have to set it down in concrete.” In terms of the full sequence and final vision, he related it to a formative childhood memory:

“Certain things find their spot. It’s like a setlist. I think that’s why they maybe let me take a first crack at some of that stuff, because of the whole setlist thing. We still make records to be listened to—not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B—but we still make ‘em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that’s how we make em…In a way, it’s also like a live show, we put the songs together in a way that have a flow and an energy, the one song passes the torch to the next…Really I think a lot of comes back to keeping score when I was a little kid in baseball games…Obviously, I wasn’t good at math and didn’t go to school for acounting, but what I did do was stare at the scoreboard at Wrigley Field and I think that really helped me.” Gigaton represents Pearl Jam at the peak of progression. From moments of guitar-fueled catharsis such as “Who Ever Said” through the icy absolution of “River Cross,” the lyrics, riffs, and rhythms transmit a message of hope, culminating on Eddie Vedder’s final words, “Here and now…won’t hold us down…share the light…won’t hold us down.”

Produced by Josh Evans and Pearl Jam, Gigaton marks the band’s first studio album since GRAMMY® award-winning, Lightning Bolt, which was released on October 15, 2013. Internationally, the album is available and distributed by Universal Music Group.

Understanding The Responsibilities Of A Personal Injury Lawyer

Personal injury lawyers are civil litigators that represent clients who face injuries or economic harm due to the actions of another party. A personal injury claim can mainly help a victim avail some benefits against the negligent party; to secure the compensation of the damages that may have been caused due to the incident. Now for a victim, it is obvious to file a personal injury claim as their right. Yet, to take the claim further and avail the compensations, personal injury lawyers play an important role for the victims.

But when it comes to hiring a personal injury lawyer, the victim needs to understand the actual responsibilities that they’ll be offering in terms of the claim and its entire process. This is simply because their legal duties are pretty specific in terms of representing their clients. So, if you’re someone who’s planning to pursue a personal injury claim or know someone who would; it’s better to understand what appropriate representations you should be expecting from your lawyer.

Their Responsibilities

Explaining The Process

Going through the process of personal injury compensation is probably new to many, in comparison to the specific type of injury compensation. Other than that, the state to state differences in the personal injury law also make it uncommon for everyone to be aware of completely. That is why, when you hire a personal injury lawyer; their utmost responsibility is to explain to you the details about the process of filing a claim. Along with that, the personal injury lawyer also informs you about what you should be expecting to happen in the coming weeks or months; so that you can be completely prepared for it. If you’re in Texas, contact Austin personal injury attorney.

Giving Personal Advice

Other than explaining to you of your rights and the entire process, the personal injury lawyer will also provide you their advice according to their professional experience. This advice will mainly be based on what you should and shouldn’t do following your injury and case details. This professional advice would be another responsibility of your injury lawyer; that would benefit you to take the claim further. As an example, your injury lawyer can advise you on what medical treatment you can take to back up your medical records while ensuring the damages you’re claiming for.

Deeply Investigating

Another important responsibility of a personal injury lawyer is to deeply investigate your case and understand all the major and minor details. This would help them understand what compensation you deserve (according to them). This way, with the help of proper assessment of the medical details and injuries you’re facing, your injury lawyer would more strongly be able to handle the argument and negotiate for your settlement amount suitably. Although, when it comes to having a personal injury lawyer that would handle your case strongly and help you get better claims, it’s always recommended to go for professional help, especially in the larger cities of Los Angeles, like Pasadena. The professionals at http://usa-law.org/ believe that having a strong understanding of personal injury cases and having more experience in it; makes it far easier to achieve a better claim. Besides, the more experienced and professional personal injury lawyers you hire, the least stressful the whole process of claiming can be for you, right?

Negotiating For A Settlement

Now we mentioned how a professional personal injury lawyer would make it easier for you to go through the entire claiming process, right? But that isn’t all, as a professional personal injury lawyer also goes through the responsibility of negotiating a settlement with the at-fault party; from your side. With the help of the expert knowledge they have, the personal injury lawyers ensure that you rightly avail what you deserve; while professionally and suitably dealing with the insurance companies as well as other attorneys. As a result, personal injury lawyers tend to look at the situation a lot more than just the immediate effects that might take place, and handle it accordingly.

Representing You

Normally, personal injury cases are settled outside the court easily. Although, in cases where the settlement isn’t possible without having third-party interference; taking the case to a trial becomes important. At times like this, (which are also quite rare); it is the responsibility of your injury lawyer to represent you in the court and fight for the compensation you deserve. Yet, since such cases don’t go to the court often; it’s also important to ensure that your injury lawyer is suitable for representing you (in case if the case goes to court)!

When you hire an attorney, you don’t only increase the chances of success of your injury claim, but also secure a better compensation in comparison to what you would have received without an attorney. Yet, since not many are aware of how a personal injury lawyer serves us; it’s better to be aware of their responsibilities and look for an attorney that professionally fulfills them all.
