The historic week kicked off with the release of the band’s highly anticipated documentary Chasing Happinessavailable now exclusively via Amazon Prime Video. In support of the release, the band made several high-profile media appearances throughout the campaign, including a surprise launch on The Late Late Show With James Corden, a performance on the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, Saturday Night Live, the season finale of The Voice, MTV’s TRL and more In addition, they graced the covers of Billboard, Paper Magazine and Harper’s Bazaar’s first ever Men’s Bazaar cover.  Most recently, they performed on the Today Show Summer Concert Series- which saw record breaking crowds- and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where the band debuted their next single “Only Human.” Up next, the band will appear on NBC’s new hit show Songland, which stars GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriter, producer, and lead singer of the multi-platinum band OneRepublic, Ryan Tedder, who was a producer on the album.

Rucker Park Basketball

On Saturday, June 22, 2019, Harlem will be celebrating basketball returning to Rucker Park! Continuing in the tradition of Holcomb Rucker  – who founded the legendary Rucker Park basketball association in 1947 – and the late Greg Marius – who in 1982 extended the brand with the creation of the Entertainers Basketball Classic (EBC) – Harlem welcomes the newly formed Rucker Park Prep as the next phase of this staple Harlem institution that has greatly served New York city and its surrounding communities.

Globally known as “The Rucker” and hailed as the temple of street basketball; where legends and greats like Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Kareem Abdul Jabar, Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant have gone to earn their rites of passage.  Put through the gauntlet by basketball street legends like Earl “The GOAT” Manigault, Pee Wee Kirkland, Kareem “The Best Kept Secret” Reid, Ali Moe, “A Butta” and “Skip To My Lou”.  The Rucker is where NBA stars such as Vince Carter and Lebron James have sought street cred, and still more show up to be battle-tested.

Def Jam Recordings – the legendary record label with deep roots in Harlem’s Basketball culture – joins Rucker Park Prep as it’s official launch sponsor and the newest extension of the Rucker legacy.

Rather than “Street Ball” Rucker Park Prep is instead a 14U (and up) High School youth division that will feature the best high school players from in and around the New York tri-state area. Leading the Games will be Rucker Park Prep’s Co-Founder and Commissioner Steve Barnett, the principal authority at the Rucker who has for decades not only provided College Scholarships for hundreds of young people but has coached countless elite Basketball Players in the country. Through his efforts and commitment to youth development many of his players have achieved the highest accolades in both university basketball of which many have gone on to play in the NBA.

“Rucker Park Prep is proud to be a part of the long-standing tradition and legacy of the Rucker Park – We are so excited to have Def Jam Recordings as a launch partner for Rucker Park Prep. The entertainment industry and Rucker Parks relationship is historic stated Haqq Islam, President and CEO of Rucker Park Prep.

“We are excited and honored to join Rucker Park Prep as a presenting sponsor this summer,” said Rich Isaacson, General Manager and Executive Vice President of Def Jam Recordings. “The Rucker and Def Jam are two New York institutions that strive to enrich the cultural fabric of this city and this community. We couldn’t imagine a better opportunity to unite, inspire and empower young people through sports, music and the one-of-a-kind vibrancy that is summer in New York City.”

On the first game day -Saturday June 22nd at 3:00pm – Rucker Park Prep in conjunction with Def Jam Recording will be sponsoring a community and family day, providing free food from local Harlem vendors to all guests of the game in the park.

The game will start at 4:30pm and will feature this counties top High School teams The Patrick School vs. Upper Room. On Saturday June 29th the Patrick School will play the Country Day School.

Commissioner Steve Barnett proudly states “RPP is a Premier Showcase for High School Basketbal.”

On Saturday June 29th at 5:30pm, Rucker Park Prep will be joined in a press conference with Councilwomen Inez Dickens, Harlem Assemblyman Al Taylor,  State Senator Brian Benjamín as well as Borough Manhattan President Gail Brewer will be bestowing honors to the following:  Def Jam Recordings, The Greg Marius Family, Darold “D- Ferg” Thomas who is the father platinum Polo Ground Entertainment/Sony recording Artist and Harlem native A$AP Ferg; Adrian “A Butta” Walton, considered one of the Greatest Street Ball Players in Rucker History and The Legendary Longtime Rucker Park Coach Bob McCullagh Founder of Each One Teach One, who has both played and coached at the Rucker Games for over fifty years.

The Rucker can an also be credited with birthing stars like Stephon Marbury, Cal Ramsey, and Hall of Famer, Nate “Tiny” Archibald. Similarly, Rucker Park Prep aims to help youth in the New York tri-state area earn more access to scholarships and other opportunities for exposure.  Furthermore, the goal and objective of Rucker Park Prep is to enable students to excel in all areas of their high school experience, academically, socially as well as athletically.

“The EBC Organization and the Marius Family supports Rucker Park Prep in their mission of fostering and empowering youth in their athletic abilities in baseball” stated by Cheryl Marius and Family

Through Rucker Park Prep Foundation, Life skills workshops combined with high level basketball instruction will aid in the building of character and help instill core values such as integrity, hard work, perseverance, self-confidence, personal responsibility, leadership, respect for the game, and overall sportsmanship. Rucker Park Prep will strive to be a resource, both for students and parents, serving as a guide to help families navigate through the pitfalls and challenges that prevent student athletes from reaching their full potential. By taking a holistic approach to sports education and training, our goal is to help create the next generation of leaders inside and outside of the sports arena.

ASTON MARTIN VALKYRIE × LE MANS

Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar Brings British Fighting Spirit Back to the Front at Le Mans

Automaker to enter at least two works Valkyrie race cars in the 2020/21 FIA World Endurance Championship

On the eve of the 60th anniversary of its glorious win in the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans,

Following the announcement of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest’s decision to introduce hypercars to the top category of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), Aston Martin will field a minimum of two works Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercars, specially-developed for the 2020/21 FIA WEC season, including the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Britain has enjoyed a long romance with the Circuit de la Sarthe, indeed in 2021 it will be 100 years since an Aston Martin first raced there. But it’s nearly a quarter of a century since a British-built derivative of a road car claimed top honours at Le Mans, and invoking the pioneering spirit of the company’s founder Lionel Martin and the ingenuity of some of Britain’s best engineering minds, Aston Martin is now set to carry that mantle into the next decade with a bold attempt to win Le Mans and the world championship.

Aston Martin Valkyrie, the world’s most extreme road car and platform for this future challenger, is the combined vision of Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey, Aston Martin EVP and Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman and Aston Martin VP and Chief Special Operations Officer David King.

In line with WEC’s newly confirmed ‘hypercar’ regulations designed to allow race-prepared derivatives of the world’s fastest road cars to fight at the forefront of world sportscar racing, the Aston Martin Valkyrie race car will draw on all the radical pillars of the road car and its track-only AMR Pro variant.

The new car will feature a race-prepared version of its bespoke high-revving normally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine. Placed within a lightweight carbon fibre structure, and featuring F1 inspired aerodynamic technology, it forms a fully competitive platform capable of challenging for outright race wins.

How to get fit the right way

There’s a right way and a wrong way to get fit. This is not to say that there’s a strict blueprint for people to get fit. The way that individuals achieve their fitness goals depends on their different anatomies and what their body compositions are made of. This being said, there are a number of best practices that exist to help people to get fit.

What not to do

Be inconsistent with your training regime

Attaining physical fitness is not a one-time thing. You also don’t become fit overnight after having done a super burst of cardio and weight training.

Reaching your fitness goals takes a lot of effort, dedication and perseverance. You need to be able to train your mind to get up on a freezing cold winter morning and get to the gym when your body is screaming at you to turn over an get another hour or two’s shut-eye. Your mind is incredibly powerful and can overcome anything – especially a few whimpers that your body makes that don’t amount to much.

But, at the same time, if you know that you physically are unable to get up early and exercise, don’t! Rather opt to exercise on your way home from work. This goes as well for choosing exercises that you hate but know are ‘good’ for you. Don’t do it! The best way to motivate yourself to carry on with exercising is to make it as pleasant as possible. So make sure that you do everything in your power to ensure that you enjoy your exercise programme.

Eat whatever junk food you want

Yes, in your training routine you’ll be burning a mountain load of calories. This is especially true if you’re training with a personal trainer as he or she will be putting you through your paces.

However, this doesn’t mean that you can eat whatever junk food you want. Remember that junk food – such as deep-fried chips, hamburgers and the like – contain trans fats which are harmful to your heart health. So, no matter how much you exercise, the fats will still be sitting in your arteries waiting to cause havoc.

What to do

Set realistic fitness goals

No matter how much you push yourself to achieve your fitness goals, if they are not realistic (in other words, you can physically achieve them) you mind as well not start. If you set unrealistic goals for yourself, deep down you know that you won’t ever achieve them however you’ll keep pushing to do so because there’s a glimmer of hope in you that you’ll succeed.

This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t set lofty fitness goals. If you feel that you have it in your to achieve these, then great! If you feel that this is true then you need to make yourself accountable to achieving what you set out to.

But don’t make the fitness goals that you set for yourself out of your grasp. Although you may think that it’s forcing you to aim higher, because you’re not achieving what you set out to it will end up demotivating you and causing you to abandon the fitness lifestyle.

Eat a balanced diet

We said above that you shouldn’t eat whatever junk food you want, on a regular basis, as this could very well be detrimental to your health. You do need to eat a healthy and balanced diet to keep up your fitness levels. However, what you shouldn’t do is to deny yourself junk food entirely. This is because if you do this you may end up bingeing on foods that aren’t great for you as you’ve denied yourself these treats for so long.

Give yourself a treat day once in a while when you let yourself have that hamburger and fries, or that glass of wine. This will curb your cravings and make sure that you keep everything in check.

Getting fit is never easy but follow the tips that we’ve outlined above, and you’ll be well on your way to walking the fitness journey!

What is a hard bounce in e-mail marketing and why you should care?

In digital marketing, if an e-mail is said to have ‘bounced’ there’s a problem with it being delivered. Bounces are categorised as ‘soft’ and ‘hard’ bounces. In this article, we’ll tell you exactly what each of these means and what the implications of a hard bounce are.

What is a soft bounce?

If you see that you have an exceptionally high soft bounce rate for a particular e-mail campaign, this means that the e-mail client that you use (for example MailChimp, Constant Contact or something similar) is not able to deliver a certain portion of the e-mails.

This can be due to:

• The recipient’s mailbox is full,
• The e-mail message that you’re trying to send the recipient being too big for their e-mail servers to accept, and/or
• The recipient’s e-mail server being down so that it can’t receive the message that you’re trying to send it.

Although a soft bounce is not something that you need to be too worried about, you need to keep an eye on this rate as well as which addresses are soft bouncing. This is because if a particular e-mail address soft bounces seven times, the e-mail client will re-classify this as a hard bounce. This means that you need to correct the temporary inability to deliver mail before this problem becomes more serious.

What is a hard bounce?

A hard bounce refers to a permanent inability to deliver mail to a specific address. Reasons for such a bounce include:

• The recipient’s e-mail address no longer being in existence. This most commonly happens when a person leaves the company.
• If the domain name no longer exists the e-mail will be classified as a hard bounce. The most common cause of this is if a company closes down – so necessitating that the domain name becomes defunct – or if the domain holder no longer wishes to keep the domain.
• A hard bounce can also occur if the recipient e-mail server blocks the sending e-mail server entirely. This will happen if the e-mail is constantly flagged as spam and not good for your digital marketing efforts.

Why should you care about hard bounces?

If you display a hard bounce rate that is above industry norms, you need to be concerned about this and ensure that you rectify this problem. There are a number of reasons why this is:

Your e-mails are considered to be spam

One of the reasons why your e-mails could be being classified as hard bounces is that the recipient’s e-mail server considers these as spam. The result of this classification is that people will start to see your company as not being authoritative. Consequently, your brand name will be damaged and you’ll need to work very hard to make this right.

If you do have a problem with hard bounces, work closely with your content marketing team in order to design your e-mails:

• Look at the language that is being used and see whether or not it could be flagged as being spam.
• Scrutinise your design and the pictures you’re using. Are these associated with known spam e-mails? If so, take these out and put more appropriate pictures in your communication.

Your data capturing is poor

Another reason why your e-mails could be labelled as hard bounces is that the e-mails don’t exist. This is often as a result of the e-mails being inputted incorrectly into the system. So to avoid this happening make sure that the person inputting this information double checks their work to ensure that all information is entered correctly.

E-mail marketing remains one of the most effective ways of carrying out a digital marketing campaign. The reason for this is that this is one of the most qualified leads out there because people have given you express permission to send them information. However, you need to treat this permission with the utmost respect and ensure that you only send them information that is in line with why they signed up to your e-mail list in the first place. So to make sure that your e-mails are on point, make sure that your digital marketing and content marketing teams work closely together to turn out a product that you’re proud of. For example, there are dozens of tips to focus on and research like adding the word video to your subject line results in recipients being 19% more likely to open the email, stated by The Marketing helpline.

ROLLS-ROYCE RELEASES WRAITH EAGLE VIII SKETCHES

ROLLS-ROYCE MOTOR CARS RELEASES WRAITH EAGLE VIII SKETCHES ON THE CENTENARY OF THE FIRST NON-STOP TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT

To mark the centenary of the first non-stop transatlantic flight, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars today releases unseen design sketches of its latest Collection Car, Wraith Eagle VIII. The collection of 50 motor cars tells the epic tale of the pioneering flight of Captain John Alcock and Lieutenant Arthur Brown. The duo conquered unchartered skies to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a Vickers Vimy aircraft, powered by twin Rolls-Royce Eagle VIII engines, exactly 100 years ago.

The sketches, envisioned by the Bespoke Collective of the House of Rolls-Royce, offer a rare and intimate insight into the creative journey undertaken by Rolls-Royce designers as they worked to express an extraordinary act of courage within the palette of a Rolls-Royce motor car.

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, commented, “The unique skill of our Bespoke Design Collective sees the story of one of the most pivotal moments of the 20th century, the first non-stop transatlantic flight, told using Wraith, a motor car which speaks of power, drama and adventure. Wraith Eagle VIII is a modern masterpiece – these sketches offer an extraordinary insight into its creation.

The designs highlight the remarkable attention to detail of Rolls-Royce Bespoke craftsmanship. The starlight headliner sketch shows cloud embroidery, the halfway point coordinates and the flight path of Alcock and Brown. A further detailed sketch shows the night-time view from above, which is expertly incorporated into Wraith’s fascia, in the form of a gold, silver and copper inlay.

The sketch of the Collection Car’s clock depicts an iced background effect reminiscent of the freezing instrument panels of the adventurers, while the clock’s green night time glow is illustrated – a direct reference to the only light seen by Alcock and Brown as they crossed the Atlantic.

Wraith Eagle VIII, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ latest Collection Car will be created for discerning collectors at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, West Sussex – a Centre of Global Luxury Manufacturing Excellence.

The first non-stop transatlantic flight

Captain John Alcock and Lieutenant Arthur Brown braved uncharted skies to make the first non-stop transatlantic flight in June, 1919. Contemporaries of Sir Henry Royce, Alcock and Brown flew non-stop from St. John’s, Newfoundland to Clifden, Ireland in a modified First World War Vickers Vimy bomber aircraft. The bi-plane was powered by twin 20.3 litre, 350 bhp, Rolls-Royce Eagle VIII engines. It is from this remarkable engine that this Collection takes its name. Rolls-Royce marks the 100 year anniversary of this feat with a highly contemporary Collection that speaks to today’s adventurers, whilst honouring those who changed the course of history.

I do not know what we should most admire – their audacity, determination, skill, science, their aeroplane, their Rolls-Royce engines – or their good fortune”, commented Sir Winston Churchill, following the perilous journey that brought unfathomable advancement to 20th century society.

Alcock and Brown established a legend and gained a place alongside Sir Donald Campbell in the most select club in the world; those who push beyond previous conceptions of human endeavour to achieve seemingly impossible records on land, water and now, air. Their one binding characteristic? Rolls-Royce power.

The duo suffered every conceivable challenge an aviator could face. The Rolls-Royce Eagle VIII engines were the only components that proved indestructible. The engines propelled the aerial voyage at previously unimagined speeds, averaging 115 mph. Their peril cannot be underestimated. Their radio and navigation instruments failed almost immediately, leaving the pilots flying unaided at night through dense cloud and freezing fog for many hours, sometimes upside down. Eventually they emerged from the cloud and using Brown’s extraordinary skill as a navigator, flew by the stars to the coast of Ireland.

“For us, All This Time is the closest representation of what a Drax Project show is like. The contrast between the clean guitar and vocals to the heavy distorted saxophone is something we’ve been looking to do for a long time, just haven’t quite been able to until working with Roget. We’re sooo stoked to finally have it done,” said the band.
Drax Project’s infectious pop anthem “Woke Up Late” collaborating with multiplatinum-selling artist and Academy Award-Hailee Steinfeld, charted at #2 on New Zealand Pop Radio, #1 on iTunes in New Zealand, and #1 on Shazam in New Zealand for over 4 months with a global push. With over 85 million total streams worldwide and growing daily, the “Woke Up Late” music video features YouTube star Liza Koshy in a fun and refreshing story full of charisma and feel-good vibes.

MIB: INTERNATIONAL F/ LEXUS RC F

Men in Black: International x Lexus

By Krishan Narsinghani × Vaughn Lowery

Lexus USA introduced a sexy new fleet of luxury vehicles (the 2020 RCF and RX F Sport) in Sony Pictures’ latest release, Men in Black: International, and 360 Magazine had the opportunity to attend the world screening in Los Angeles. This classic rebirth featured actors Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth whizzing across the universe to fight off the villainous Hive. Subsequently, the duo are facing internal threats of their organization at the same time. MIB is action-packed, humorous and undoubtedly a family favorite – it sparkles!

After this film, you’ll definitely want to cop the heavily stylish RCF – not just for performance and technology – but because it’s bewitching. If looks could kill – WE DEAD!
