KASKADE XMAS

KASKADE’S FULL-LENGTH

CHRISTMAS ALBUM OUT TODAY

Six-time Grammy® nominated singer, songwriter and producer Kaskade today released a full-length Christmas via his own Arkade label in partnership with Sony International. The album is available to stream and download now HERE.

“I’ve always loved Christmas music dating back to my days as a child going to church with my family,” said Kaskade. “All these years later, I’ve been able to put my own collection of Holiday music together and am really excited to have it out this season. I love the challenge of taking music that I have grown up with and producing it in a way that is new and modern.”

The 13-song collection features Kaskade’s unique interpretation of holiday classics such as “Deck The Halls”, “Silent Night”, and “The First Noel”, as well as new original material and collaborations with Late Night Alumni, Erika, Debra Fotheringham, Skylar Grey, Isley, Gabrielle Current, Kayrae, Jane XØ, and Dia Frampton.

Kaskade added: “To add my imprint to classic songs is fun for me, and my die-hard fans will be familiar with the ways I make them my own.  Some of the songs are huge departures from the original style, while others stick within the main framework.  Add that to a few originals and…I am really proud of what I have created here. Christmas is fun… so is the music, and I’m here to bust up all the preconceived notions about what it should sound like. The mood of the season is about imagination, hope and love. This is for everyone, regardless of what you believe.”

Kaskade is about to wrap up  a handful of Redux tour dates. He recently announced that he will close out the year with special shows at The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, CA. This will mark his second New Year’s Eve show at the venue. Tickets for both dates are available at www.kaskademusic.com. See below for a complete list of upcoming dates.

Earlier this fall Kaskade released Redux EP 002 on his own label, Arkade. The seven-song set is now available to stream and download in its entirety HERE. Redux EP 002 is centered around Kaskade’s intimate Redux shows, an homage to the stripped down clubs and deeper House Music played from the time his career was beginning. It kicks off with the lead single “Nobody Like You“. The EP also features contributions from LöKii, Mr. Tape, and Late Night Alumni.

Following the success of Kaskade’s history making performance last summer at the Los Angeles Convention Center (which sold out in record time, was the biggest solo headlining show of his career and was attended by nearly 25,000 people), Kaskade returned to Southern California this past July to bring his fans another unforgettable experience via a massive outdoor beach party in Long Beach called Sun Soaked. The beach side three hour plus performance featured material spanning Kaskade’s career. Billboard proclaimed: “Kaskade cements west coast legacy with Sun Soaked party debut.”

Bike Messengers x The Red Bulletin

(Article Courtesy of The Red Bulletin)

Every year, bike messengers from all over the continent gather at the North American Cycle Courier Championships to compete, carouse and commiserate. This is their story.

Hunger pangs give way to an enthusiastic greeting as Nico Cabrera is among the last to arrive at a watering hole in Milwaukee’s East Side neighborhood. He’s welcomed by a cadre of misfits whose belligerence varies — one says he’s been drinking all day — each with unkempt hair. Most of the men and women haven’t seen the likes of a straight-edged razor in years. A guy wearing a Sponge Bob shirt has a mullet that looks straight out of “Boogie Nights” and another’s beard is so biblically long, there’s reason to question if it got caught in the wheels of the bicycle he rode to Good City Brewing, parked among some 200 others outside.

All are dressed like they just raided a Goodwill store, except Cabrera, who dons the onesy of an Olympic cyclist. There’s a reason for that: He just rode the 90 miles up to Milwaukee from Chicago, where he lives.

“Biking is more than just a job,” Cabrera says. “We race our bikes on the weekend or we go on long bike rides. We go bike camping. We just generally get around our daily lives on our bicycle. It’s a big deal when it’s like, ‘Hey, I’m taking the train today.’ ”

His shoulder-length hair, trim body and regular use of words like “rad” make him a better fit for a group of surfers on the left coast, though he was raised in suburban Chicago.

Cabrera is the most recognizable among the group. He’s here for the North American Cycle Courier Championships (NACCC, pronounced “Nack”), a conclave of the best messengers from around the world, who participate in a grueling, hours-long race that calls for competitors to have marathon-like athleticism and navigating knowhow. Cabrera is the NACCC’s reigning champion and is fresh off a third-place finish at the World Championships in Montreal.

Hilary Knight x The Red Bulletin

(Article Courtesy of The Red Bulletin)

Hilary Knight is leading the charge for equitable pay for U.S. women’s hockey. The fiery forward explains the importance of fighting battles for future generations.

Outside in Tampa it’s 98 degrees with nearly 100 percent humidity, but inside the Florida Hospital Center Ice hockey arena, it’s an alternate dimension. The air is crisp, with enough bite that tiny plumes of vapor appear with every exhale of breath. The entire rink reverberates as Hilary Knight slams puck after puck against the wall. You can tell she’s a pro.

At 28, Knight is arguably the best forward on the U.S. Women’s National Ice Hockey team — a team that captures the hearts of the country every four years during the Winter Olympics. But beyond her determination to score goals and earn medals, Knight has become a powerful advocate for promoting gender equality and a strong female body image.

Earlier this year, Knight made waves across the sports world when she and her fellow teammates threatened to boycott the World Championships over inequitable pay. After a funding agreement was reached with USA Hockey and the boycott was lifted, Knight scored the winning goal in overtime against bitter rivals Canada in the World Championship finals. It was a huge victory for women’s hockey, but Knight says there’s still a lot of work to be done.

ISAAC GRACIE

Following his recently released EP, Death of You & IIsaac Gracie is pleased to share his new single, “Terrified”.

STREAM AND SHARE “TERRIFIED” HERE

There would be a way to introduce Isaac Gracie that could make these early days of his music career sound golden: the 23-year-old London-raised singer-songwriter who sent the music industry into a fever with his debut track ‘Last Words’ — a song so finely-wrought, so tenderly poetic, as to mark him out as Britain’s brightest young thing. But that would be disingenuous. Because while Gracie is of course all of those things, he is also a young man in flux, a new artist in the midst of working out just who he is, what he wants, and what he’s doing. Bewildered, and at times frustrated — but sowing those frustrations into his music.

Yet the success of his recent EP, an emotive but direct and pressing spate of recordings, and now here its successor Terrified, suggests that inner turmoil might well have been shed at the last corner as Isaac tentatively strides forth. Having spent the last days of Autumn nestled neatly on the Radio 1 playlist (with the EP’s title track) and captivating audiences out on the roads of Europe and the UK, Isaac’s graph of success is cautiously, steadily heading in the direction of top right. The venues are becoming bigger, the live performances are now backed by a band to make the sound that much broader, and the confidence is starting to show.

If you’ve been following Isaac’s releases carefully, you’ll perhaps already recognise Terrified as a self-produced demo right back where it all started, on an EP of rough but hugely promising acoustic solo tracks. It was as melodious then as it is here, but the song now soars, swells, and glides. It sounds noticeably ‘big’ without sounding busy, and it’s Isaac’s economy with words that gives it the room and space to breathe.

With a debut album currently being finished and expected in the Spring of 2018 via Virgin EMI, and further live dates across the globe being added to almost weekly, Isaac Gracie could well become the household name that these songs threaten.

It might have taken him a minute or two to work out who he is, what he wants, and indeed, to work out why on earth the spotlight looks set to fall on him next year, but Isaac Gracie has found his voice, his words, and ultimately his resilience to place himself front and centre of whatever is to follow. It’s a journey worth following. Join him.
