Climate Catastrophe

LG Williams and The Estate of LG Williams™ are pleased to present Don’t Look At That Tree, his newest monumental outdoor artwork installed at City Park in Streator, Illinois.

Don’t Look At That Tree consists of a 100-foot-high hickory tree strewn with several rolls of yellow crime scene tape. Visitors can view the artwork on June 28, 2019 and it will remain visible to the public until June 30, 2019. The artwork will be situated at the intersection of Park and Hickory streets, near the park’s entrance.

This artwork explores The Mechanism of Denial, a defense mechanism first proposed by Anna Freud which involves an individual or groups refusal to accept reality, thus blocking external events from awareness. “So far”, writes LG Williams, “our response to the challenge of our climate catastrophe exposes a fundamental failure of collective engagement and imagination.”

Navigating the Dating World in 2019

Finding a partner in life is something that nearly everyone yearns for at one time or another. In order to eventually find that partner, you have to date. However, dating isn’t always easy in the modern day. In fact, the stats show that more than half of all young peoplein the USA don’t have a partner. While some may not want one, others do and just simply haven’t had any luck or don’t want to put in the effort.

It isn’t as simple as it once was. Also, dating or trying to meet people as an adult is even more challenging than when you were in college or high school. People are busier than ever and with so many things seemingly demanding our attention, it can be harder than ever to find the time. With that in mind, this article is going to look at a couple of tips and hints about dating in 2019 and beyond.

Get Online

Just as it has changed nearly every part of our lives, technology has had a huge impact on dating as we know it. We use our phones to text people, send video messages, set up dates, flirt, and so much more. In fact, some stats show that around 40% of couples in the USA first meet online. As a result, getting online can help you get more dates than traditional methods.

Many of these people are using apps to meet each other as they have hundreds of thousands of downloads. If these apps aren’t your forte, there are plenty of online dating sites. There are dating sites based on religion, on life success, and heck, there is even a milf dating site. The point is, using online dating gives you the best chance at meeting someone you wouldn’t have met otherwise.

Work on Yourself

Before you can love someone else, you need to love yourself. It may sound incredibly cliche, but it is true. Too many times people will wait around for the perfect person to come into their lives and don’t want to put in any effort on their end. Unfortunately, that hardly ever works. Instead, you need to work on loving yourself as well as making yourself a more attractive option.

Instead of complaining you can’t get a date, work on the areas of your life that you believe are holding you back. Start hitting the gym, work on getting better at your hobbies, or even go to therapy if you feel it will help you. The sooner you can be happy and proud of who you are, the sooner others will take notice as well. Be the best version of yourself that you can be, and self-confidence will follow.

Be Open and Honest

Unfortunately, most people are not very open. We have the things we like to do, eat, and see, and really aren’t interested in anything else. If you aren’t willing to put yourself out there and try new things, you will find it more difficult to meet new people. Now, this doesn’t mean you need to go out to a huge party or join a rock-climbing club, but even simply signing up for online dating or going to an event can be a step in the right direction.

In addition to being open, it is important to always be honest. The last thing you want to do is lead anyone on or let them get the wrong idea. So while it is good to be open and try new things, always be honest about your feelings, your wants, and your boundaries.

We hope that this blog post will help you learn some helpful tips to navigate the world of dating in 2019 and beyond.

Laughing Lotus

It was 1977 when it all started for Dana as she grew up to the sounds of Donna Summers and the Beegees. “Oh how my parents loved to dance,” she said. Dana grew up and never wanted the dance party to end, so in 1987 she opened a joint in Hell’s Kitchen called Trixies, her nickname, and the place quickly became famous for the wild spirit of celebration she and her team created. Wacky and talented musical acts came in from all over the world to sing and play the spoons. They were featured on the Today Show, Good Morning America and KathyLee & Regis. Soon after the explosion on the dance scene, Trixie, the “party girl” met yoga. At the time, Dana was doing high step aerobics, taking hip hop dance classes and she rode her bicycle everywhere. “It was surprising for me to find yoga, yet all the ingredients were always there – my love for music, movement and friends. This was my opportunity for awakening,” Dana said.

During Dana’s early years of practicing yoga, it felt like yoga was one practice and her love for dancing another. They were separate. It took years of showing up in her personal practice for her to begin to listen and trust and follow her passion to integrate movement, music, the flow of the breath, and a spiritual purpose. Finding herself and her voice was a slow process, but a natural one. Sometimes the music inspired the movement and sometimes the movement inspired the music and soon new shapes emerged — Krishna, Kali, Rainbow Warrior, oh my.

With the help and collaboration of Dana’s longtime partner, Jasmine Tarkeshi, the two cofounded and opened Laughing Lotus in New York City on a rooftop playground in 1999 and Lotus Flow, our Vinyasa style of Yoga, became a signature style where dance, devotion and discipline are the three major tenets.

The practice continues to be a fresh and creative celebration with Jasmine and all of the teachers at the Lotus. There’s an incredible architecture or form to the sequencing. It’s called freedom. There’s form and there’s formlessness and the mantra at Laughing Lotus is “Move Like Yourself.”

It’s 2012 and Laughing Lotus had a Dance Hall, a disco ball, a 40-foot graffiti wall and a Glitter Bar. It’s a community center, a spiritual community that nourishes your being, helps makes the teaching practical and teaches us all valuable lessons in sharing, empathy and seva. Today in NYC, millions of breaths later, tens of thousands of chakras opened and with over one thousand teacher graduates Laughing Lotus is having a yoga festival, a lotus reunion to gather, to share, to chant to celebrate and of course to DANCE! Here we are in 2019, and Laughing Lotus has introduceded NYC’s first ever Queens and Queers: Fluid Flow class that will live on the schedule and be offered monthly. This weekly Fluid Flow is designed for LQBTQ Community and your sparkly friends. Enjoy your Glittery Loving Yoga home where you can be YOU, connect more deeply to each other and your Highest Self. Dana’s love for the LGBTQ community has harnessed a deep connection throughout the years and with this connection, comes the newest collaboration with the K-Deer family; the first non-gender focused yoga pant, “The Dana” which has launched and can be spotted on some of the biggest influencers.

360 MAGAZINE, Margot Restaurant, LA, Los Angeles, Vaughn Lowery

Margot

By Vaughn Lowery × Krishan Narsinghani × Michael Moadeb × Anthony Sovinsky

Restaurateur Rohan Talwar helms IB Hospitality and owns the illustrious West Hollywood gem, Norahs. A few months ago, he opened the doors to modish and culinary oasis, Margot – complete with exotic dishes, regional wines and special drink menu.

Margot, a Mediterranean infused restaurant composed of various seating and dine-in areas with 360 degree views of West LA, in Culver City is a diamond in the rough. The rooftop (indoor and outdoor seated venue) nests at the top of the PLATFORM (a boutique shopping experience with fashion/pop-ups, wellness and bites) and borders tons of retail, commercial and a new hotel soon erupting. The speedy Expo line train can be seen swiftly running east to west while you sip and/or dine outside and mimics the likes of some of the more prestigious eateries within Brooklyn’s Dumbo area. Similar to the train, rumors have quickly traveled throughout the city that Amazon will begin developing a new location nearby.

‘Hot like fire’ understates the atmosphere at night as the outside appears to be torched with tons of heat lamps in tow. With fresh farm-to-fork ingredients and handmade pastas (try the spaghetti), this place is a soon to be staple within the LA area. The menu constantly changes for an all-inclusive dining experience, including those with strict plant-based diets. Great for romantic dates, celebratory moments and family gatherings on ‘Sunday Funday’ largely due to their tapas as well as fresh raw seafood bar. Talk about delectable oysters. Step foot inside to find every inch of this establishment scream social media engagement wall. Note murals and tapestries all aligned in tune with a modernistic and contemporary ambiance. Service is extremely courteous, helpful and hospitable. And if that’s not enough to keep you coming back, the handcrafted cocktails will. Try their refreshening grapefruit gin and juice or a fruity frosé – worth every penny. It’s about time Culver City got what it deserved – a casual dining experience with budding professionals who seek something edgy, youthful and tasty.

Boost your metabolism before you eat, as SoulCycle is located on the second floor right underneath Margot. Or, after a zesty salad and sandwich at Margot, you may want to head down to the first level to the cozy ice cream shop with a menu of small-batch flavors, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream.

*Margot is open daily from 11am-2am at the PLATFORM: 8820 Washington Blvd #301 (310) 643-5853
