Everyone who grew up during the 90s is well acquainted with Jumanji’s story, about the boy who was dragged into the board game of the same name. The movie was a huge success and guaranteed its place in pop culture. The storyline didn’t really call for a sequel, so how was The Rock’s sequel so successful?

Welcome to the Jungle

Millennials are more prone to nostalgia than other generations. Surely, the entertainment industry is well-aware of it. It’s not a coincidence that so many titles from the 90s are making their way back to the big screens. Star Wars and Jurassic World are a few examples.

Still, there are other ways to cater to this sentiment. The gaming industry has turned nostalgia into a profitable business. The “wild” adventure has also gained versions for PS4, and even slots games, which can be found at the best WV online casinos. The haunted game board used in the original movie was sold for $87,500.

Nostalgia in Hollywood

Millennials are indeed easy prey for nostalgia baits, but the trick isn’t new in Hollywood. We can go back to 1939, when the first Wizard of Oz hit the big screens, based on a book from 1900. The same goes for Tom Sawyer: a movie released in 1930, based on a book from 1876. Nowadays, the sentiment can be summoned by the industry in different ways, not only referencing books.

Break Points

The director, Jake Kasdan, invested in a very charismatic cast, as did the original movie. Dwayne Johnson comes in place of the sorely missed Robin Williams, followed by Jack Black, Karen Gillian, and Kevin Hart. It looks like a comedy cast, and indeed there are some hilarious moments, but it’s still an adventure movie. Does it follow a direct line from the original, then? Not quite.

The movie begins one year after the story has ended, in 1996. A teenager Alex Vreeke plays Jumanji on a Playstation-like video game. Then the storyline jumps 20 years, straight into 2016. The board’s magical powers were somehow transported to a video game, where the main actors are avatars. Dwayne Johnson is Spencer’s avatar, while Jack Black plays Bethany. Kevin Hart represents Fridge in the game, while Karen Gillian plays Martha.

Although he looks completely different now, Bobby Cannavale, a veteran from the 1996 cast, still plays the villain John Hardin Van Pelt. Jack Black is the avatar of Professor Sheldon Oberon. However, his avatar is played by a teenage girl, who Black recreated to perfection, with voice, facial expressions, etc.

Game Over

Those expecting to be kicked back to their childhood days won’t be disappointed. Nor will those looking for something more original than a simple reboot. It keeps more than enough references to transport the audience back to the 90s but never lifting a foot from the present. The substitution of a board game by a video game was obvious but added a completely different dynamic to the movie.

Less obvious and quite entertaining, though, is the personality clash between the avatars and their players. Dwayne Johnson plays a shy and nervous teenage boy. Jack Black really looks like the most popular girl at school trapped in an oversized middle-aged man. Kevin Hart plays an over-excited boy, while the nerdy and not-sportive Martha gives life to a Lara Croft-like Ruby Roundhouse. “Welcome to the Jungle” is notalgia bait done right.

It’s a scary time to travel. Despite getting less media attention with each passing day, the pandemic still affects your health while on the road. Now, increased international tensions and conflict make leaving your comfort zone even more problematic. What happens if you get stranded abroad?

While you can’t avoid every snafu, there’s plenty that you can proactively do to safeguard your health and mental well-being on the road. Thinking ahead can make all the difference! Here are eight tips for safe travel as the world opens back up.

1. Have a Contingency Plan

If you’re planning to leave the country, appoint a check-in person stateside whom you touch base with at scheduled intervals. If something should happen, they’ll know to contact the correct authorities and set things in motion to find you and return you to safety.

Given the current state of the pandemic, you might have valid fears about what could happen if you got sick while overseas. Before you depart, make plans for medical repatriation if you don’t want to be treated in a hospital abroad. Such services arrange first-class travel back to your home country, ensuring your comfort and putting your mind at ease.

2. Mask Up

The Travel Security Administration (TSA) extended mask rules to March 18, 2022, but it’s impossible to say what rules will stay and go once that deadline passes. PROMINENT NATIONAL BLACK WOMEN LEADERS APPLAUD JUDGE KETANJI BROWN JACKSON ON HER HISTORIC U.S. SENATE CONFIRMATION HEARING FOR SUPREME COURT

The Black Women’s Leadership Collective, a coalition of 11 national Black women’s organizations networks and leaders, applauds Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson for her historic appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee this week. Judge Jackson demonstrated why she belongs on the United States Supreme Court, despite false, unwarranted and vitriolic Republican attacks on both her character and her nearly decade-long tenure as a federal judge.

The Black Women’s Leadership Collective — an organizing hub of national leaders who represent millions of advocates and supporters — is urging the Judiciary Committee to advance Judge Jackson’s nomination to the full Senate for confirmation as the first Black woman to serve on our nation’s highest court.

Judge Jackson’s appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee deepened the pride and joy Black women across America have felt since she was nominated by President Biden. She did us and our ancestors proud. Day after day, hour after hour, Judge Jackson’s character, integrity, deep knowledge, and respect for the Constitution were eminently clear. She cut through the noise and partisan rancor to discuss her record with such grace, transparency, and thoughtfulness that it’s no surprise the Senate previously confirmed her for three positions, including two judgeships, with bipartisan support.

Judge Jackson faced distortions of her record, attacks, hostility, and downright rudeness from Senate Republicans, who should be ashamed of their actions during these proceedings. The interruptions, barely coded dog whistles and disrespect mirrored the lived experience of Black women in America and serve as a reminder why representation matters and why Judge Jackson’s historic nomination is an inspiration. As our children watched these hearings, they saw yet another moment in Judge Jackson’s inspirational life as she faced baseless attacks with grace, strength, and incredible poise.

Grounded in core values of faith, family, and service, it’s also no surprise that Judge Jackson the has earned a wide range of endorsements, including the Fraternal Order of Police, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, former attorneys general, lawyers and retired federal judges of both parties. These endorsements prove beyond doubt that Judge Jackson is a strong supporter of law enforcement and works to protect the public from criminals.

We urge the Senate Judiciary Committee and the full Senate to vote swiftly — and overwhelmingly — approve Judge Jackson for the Supreme Court.

AeroMobil announces the second model of its revolutionary flying car, the 4-seater AM NEXT. AM NEXT leverages the ground-breaking engineering of AM4.0, the world’s first production flying car. AM4.0 is a 2-seater luxury personal vehicle – more than a supercar and a light aircraft combined, it is a new species of vehicle which will start deliveries in 2024.

The primary business model for AM NEXT, launching in 2027, is a fleet aerial ride-hailing service. AM NEXT will provide significant time-savings on regional routes in the 100-500 mile range, which are too far to drive and too short, or inconvenient, to fly. AM NEXT will provide no-hassle travel: door-to-door single-seat convenience and comfort, to work, rest, play, or just enjoy the view.

A leading global management consulting firm measured the Total Addressable Market (“TAM”) for the AeroMobil ride-hailing service as $70 billion annually just in North America. This is calculated from an extensive survey of traveler switching rates based on time, price and convenience on 660,000 routes within AM NEXT’s range.

Like AM4.0, the AM NEXT flying car has major advantages over other Advanced Air Mobility solutions. AeroMobil’s technology uses existing infrastructure (over 10,000 landing strips in the US), fits existing automotive and aviation regulation, and has significantly greater range than eVTOL craft. The reigning queens of R&B, streaming supernova Summer Walker and chart-topper SZA, announce Grammy-winning artist Cardi B will appear on a new version for their hit single, “No Love” (LVRN/Interscope Records) coming this Friday. Summer confirmed the news on Instagram, days after she hinted at a third performer by suggesting that the single artwork represented each woman’s Zodiac birth sign. Savvy fans quickly jumped on Cardi B as the leading candidate, and the two jumped on an Instagram Live to celebrate the news in front of their combined 130 million followers. In its original form, “No Love” instantly lit up charts around the world upon its debut last November. The song surged to No. 1 on Apple Music’s U.S. Top 100 chart and became the first song to dethrone Adele’s long-standing champ “Easy on Me.” Plus, though it wasn’t an official single at the time, “No Love” debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 to become Summer Walker’s highest-charting hit. The collab appears on Summer’s Still Over It, which broke the record for the album for the most one-week streams ever by a female R&B artist, with 201.1 million in its debut week, and was the first R&B album by a female act to top the Billboard 200 albums chart since 2016. Those achievements, along with 18 Hot 100 hits from the project, powered Summer to be honored with the Chartbreaker Award at Billboard’s annual Women in Music celebration earlier this month.

Primed for a massive summer, multi-award-winning Billboard chart topper Sean Paul will heat up 2022 with his eighth full-length album and Island Records debut, Scorcha, on May 27. It is available for pre-order/pre-save HERE.

Sean recently earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Reggae Album for his 7th studio album Live N Livin, which was released in 2021.
