The trailer for snowboarder Ben Ferguson’s highly-anticipated new film, Fleeting Time debuts today. And with the trailer, the announcement of a week-long global digital premiere on Red Bull TV, Nov. 3–9, unlocking exclusive and free viewing for audiences worldwide. Fleeting Time is also embarking on a month-long tour in theaters across  North America, kicking off with the World Premiere in Bend, Oregon on October 1, 2022. Ferguson says, “I’m very excited to show Fleeting Time to everyone. After the past two years the crew and I have a movie we are proud to share with snowboarders and the rest of the world. The film is an homage to the movies I grew up watching as a kid—fast-paced snowboarding and heavy-hitting music to match. I hope our movie makes you want to  snowboard.”  

Fleeting Time, a snowboard movie from Homestead Creative, co-produced by Red Bull Media House in collaboration with Ben Ferguson, is a two-year project directed and starring Ben Ferguson and his close crew of friends, created with the goal of inspiring viewers to get out and ride. The non-stop action is paired with a playlist-worthy soundtrack curated by Ferguson,  featuring incredible snowboard action from the peaks of Alaska, to the deep snowpack of the  Rockies, to a revolutionary indoor halfpipe in Japan.  

Ferguson brought together an all-star crew of riders in Fleeting Time, including his brother Gabe  Ferguson, along with snowboarding’s biggest names: Travis Rice, Mark McMorris, Danny Davis,  Red Gerard, Hailey Langland, Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, Mikkel Bang, Brock Crouch; Japan halfpipe pros Kaishu Hirano and Raibu Katayama; Mikey Ciccarelli, Luke Winkelman, Jared Elston, Curtis  Ciszek and Austin Smith. 

During the two-year span, Ferg and crew traveled to Whistler, British Columbia; McCall, Idaho;  Jackson, Wyoming; Haines and Valdez, Alaska; Lake Tahoe, California; Japan, and at home in  Oregon at Mt. Bachelor and Mt. Hood honing in on deep powder conditions, steep peaks and massive transitions—both natural and manmade.  

Viewers can also quench their thirst for more content through the “About Time” series rolling out exclusively on Red Bull TV. This three-piece docu-series will give viewers a high-end,  intimate look into the athletes, crew and overall making of Fleeting Time. Look for the first episode to drop October 6th on RBTV.

ASKING FOR A RIDE ARRIVES JANUARY 27TH

White Reaper have announced details of their new album Asking for a Ride, which will be released January 27th on Elektra Entertainment and is available for pre-order today [album art / track listing below]. The band have also shared the new song, “Pages” which is available now on all streaming platforms and joined by a Lance Bangs directed music video – watch it HERE.

Elaborating on “Pages” and Asking for a Ride, vocalist / guitarist Tony Esposito remarked, “It seems like Pages’ could’ve easily existed on one of our earlier records, it’s just a few chords and a simple melody; but because of that, I’d say that it’s pretty unique to the rest of our new album. We can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on.”

Director Lance Bangs commented on the “Pages” video adding, “White Reaper are a joy to make things with, 5 guys that are good company in recording studios, house parties, live shows, and anywhere else you can spend time among them. We had a great experience shooting saturated color motion picture film on handheld cameras for the ‘Real Long Time‘ video for their previous album, and I wanted to get everyone together for an outdoor daylight look in one of my favorite architectural public spaces, the Keller Fountain in Portland Oregon. It was designed in the late 60s and opened to the public in 1970. It’s an enduring free space where people can spend time. We filmed on a bright, warm afternoon and conjured up a video that feels like the song: dynamic, catchy, genuine.”

Recorded and largely self-produced in Nashville with the help of close friend and engineer Jeremy Ferguson, Asking for a Ride finds the Louisville band taking a more direct and in-your-face approach, prioritizing the collection’s raw energy and its ability to translate live through ripping and nervy compositions. It’s White Reaper at their most exciting – dialing up the chrome-plated riffs and monster hooks – a welcome reminder of just how much fun rock music can be.

“We ask ourselves: Does it sound good when we play it in the room together?’ And if it does, those are the songs we want to pursue,” Esposito noted.

Guitarist Hunter Thompson concurred: “We started to recognize how we operate best as a band.”

Writer Erica Schultz and artist Edgar Salazar’s new X-23: DEADLY REGENESIS limited series begins in March

Before Laura Kinney was Wolverine, one of mutantkind’s greatest heroes, she was X-23, its deadliest assassin! This March, writer Erica Schultz and artist Edgar Salazar will return to the time when the character was at a crossroads during her journey as an X-Man in X-23: DEADLY REGENESIS! Announced earlier this month at New York Comic Con, the five-issue limited series will add surprising depth to X-23’s incredible transformation into the hero she is today. Taking place during the X-Men’s Utopia era, the story will find X-23 targeted for revenge by an iconic Marvel Comics super villain and an all-new foe with a personal vendetta against Laura that’s so extreme, they may end up becoming her new archnemesis!

Laura Kinney, A.K.A. X-23, was cloned from Logan and trained by the Facility to be a deadly assassin. Even as she tries to put that life behind her, forces will try to drag her back — and she’ll fight them tooth and claw! Beset by new enemies – as well as old favorites –  this series follows X-23 during her days as a member of the X-Men and X-Force when she walked away from the island of Utopia to find where she truly belongs. Don’t miss this all-new story in the fan-favorite saga of Laura Kinney!

“I’ve been a fan of X-23 from her first appearance in X-Men: Evolution twenty years ago. The fact that I get to play in the X-Men sandbox is its own reward, but having the opportunity to explore a character as complex and nuanced as Laura is a dream,” Schultz said. “Edgar Salazar, Mark Basso, and Drew Baumgartner have been fantastic to work with, and I really hope the fans enjoy this take on her.”

DONNA KALAJIAN LAGANI NAMED VICE PRESIDENT AND EASTERN DIRECTOR OF THE WILLIAM RANDOLPH HEARST FOUNDATION OF CALIFORNIA AND THE HEARST FOUNDATION, INC. OF NEW YORK

Hearst today announced that Donna Kalajian Lagani has been named vice president and Eastern director of the William Randolph Hearst Foundation of California and the Hearst Foundation, Inc. of New York, succeeding George B. Irish who passed away on September 13 after serving 14 years in that position. She begins her new role immediately.

The announcement was made by William Randolph Hearst III, chairman of the board of directors of Hearst, president of the William Randolph Hearst Foundation and a director of the Hearst Foundation, Inc., and Virginia Hearst Randt, president of the Hearst Foundation, Inc.

Kalajian Lagani joined the Hearst Foundations in 2019 as senior program officer after nearly 25 years at Hearst Magazines.

Separate from the corporation, the Hearst Foundations are national philanthropic resources for organizations working in the fields of culture, education, health and social services. In addition, the William Randolph Hearst Foundation operates two programs, the United States Senate Youth Program and the Journalism Awards Program. Since its inception, the Foundations have made over 22,200 grants to 6,300 organizations, totaling more than $1.4 billion in funds awarded. Paul “Dino” Dinovitz is executive director of both foundations and leads the Western operations.

“For years, Donna was a high-energy executive at Hearst Magazines,” said Hearst. “She brings the same passion for making things happen to her role in philanthropy. I know Donna will make a positive impact on people’s lives — creating the kind of opportunities that my grandfather envisioned when he started the Foundations in 1946. The entire team looks forward to working with her. Donna will sustain our mission to identify and fund outstanding nonprofits and ensure that people of all backgrounds have the chance to build healthy, productive and satisfying lives.”

Said Randt: “Donna has already made a profound impact at the Foundations and has worked tirelessly to identify the organizations who can make the most impact with our grants.”

Kalajian Lagani joined Hearst Magazines in 1995 as publisher of Cosmopolitan and was named publishing director in 1999. She added oversight of Seventeen in 2014 and of Women’s Health in 2018, following Hearst’s acquisition of Rodale. During her career at Cosmopolitan, Kalajian Lagani introduced groundbreaking initiatives, most recently through mobile and artificial intelligence technology. She developed and immortalized the “fun fearless female” mantra used by Cosmopolitan editions worldwide. During her tenure, she helped launch CosmoGIRL! and Cosmo for Latinas and was a strong force in bringing Cosmopolitan to new platforms, including Snapchat and Sirius XM Radio.

The Hearst Foundation, Inc. was founded by William Randolph Hearst in 1946. In 1949, Hearst established the California Charities Foundations, later renamed the William Randolph Hearst Foundation. Both foundations are guided by the same charitable mission, which reflects the philanthropic interests of their founder.

The two foundations are managed as one entity, sharing the same funding guidelines, leadership and staff. Staff based in New York City review all proposals from organizations located east of the Mississippi River, and staff in the San Francisco office review those from organizations west of it.

Returning with more heat, Bronx rap phenomenon Dougie B unleashes an intense and infectious new single and video entitled “Wreck” with Yagi B today via Republic Records.

On the track, incisive drill production rumbles as he launches into a raw rapid-fire flow. As the bass rattles, his storytelling begins, “Ran so fast they don’t tell him where his shoes at.Yagi B pulls up with an equally punchy cameo of his own. Together, they deliver an explosive and engaging anthem laced with thrilling lyrical mastery. The music video matches the energy as the duo and their crew mob through a New York City playground performing their signature “geeking” dance moves.

Sharing more than his music, this week Dougie B launched a new YouTube vlog series titled, “The Life Of Dougie B.” The show follows his everyday activity as he elevates his rap career while maintaining his fun personality. Watch the first episode —HERE.
