The Peter Ulrich Collaboration

The Peter Ulrich Collaborations “Final Reflections”; the final chapter in the well received The Painted Caravan Trilogy, will be available for streaming and purchase on all the major services starting December 3rd, 2019 with an expected single and video for the lead track “Artificial Man” set to drop in the coming weeks. As a special thanks to Collaboration fans, from September 16th until November 5th, the new album Final Reflections – along with the entire Painted Caravan Trilogy – will be available on a pre order basis at a special discounted rate through AIS Records; which is distributing Final Reflections and The Painted Caravan Trilogy under an exclusive license from City Canyons. Stayed tuned for a link for this very special discount with access to the entire Trilogy at one convenient location.

The Peter Ulrich Collaborations is a collaboration helmed by Peter Ulrich, former percussionist for the iconic Dead Can Dance, the brilliantly innovative band that music historian Ian McFarlane described as world music that “constructed soundscapes of mesmerizing grandeur and solemn beauty… with African polyrhythms, Gaelic folk, Gregorian chants, Middle-Eastern mantras and art-rock”. Ulrich met Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard, the founders and cornerstones of Dead Can Dance, in London in 1982 and joined the band on drums and percussion. After leaving DCD and after releasing a string of critically acclaimed releases as a solo artist, Peter’s next big step was The Peter Ulrich Collaboration.

The Collaboration is the brainchild of Ulrich and Trebor “Big T” Lloyd of City Canyons Productions as producer and a principal collaborator. The Collaboration mixes folk rock, world rock, art rock and psychedelic music with a world view that encompasses alternative history, fictional universes, Steampunk, and Goth, and recalls the exquisitely crafted soundscapes of Dead Can Dance. The group features songwriting by Ulrich, Lloyd, and New York songwriters Anne Husick, Sara Wendt and Kathy Sheppard among others with vocals by David Steele, Wendt, Ulrich, Jen Elliott, Shane Chapman, Stephanie Linn, Timothy Dark and other bright American and English talents. The vocalists are backed by a crackerjack band playing rock, post-rock, world and folk influenced music. After the release of two albums, thrilled New York Collaboration fans were were treated to a live performance by the band at Manhattan’s famous Webster Hall in 2015.

Reviews for the first two albums were little short of spectacular: “A rich and song-filled showcase”—RollingStone. com “Grand mix of folk and world music”—Modern Drummer “Riveting and intriguing”—Popdose “A collaboration to be cherished”—The Independent “Colorful and enjoyable record”—All Music Guide

Now following up their well received second effort Tempus Fugitives, about which Entertainment UK proclaimed “Sensuous wafting flights of ethereal fancy and finely-honed but never overstated lyrics are [Ulrich’s] forte , and after the first album in the trilogy The Painted Caravan made waves with its release as “another fine record that has been described as The Great Missing West Coast Album”, The Peter Ulrich Collaborations are delighted to be able to bring this story to a close, releasing Final Reflections as a worthy and compelling companion piece. While Final Reflections is chock full of notable songs, perhaps the most striking single, sung by the richly talented English vocalist David Steele, is Artificial Man the Collaboration’s chilling look at a dystopian society in which creatures that are part man and part machine are on the verge of rebellion against their human overlords. Here’s a preview of the Artificial Man video with lyrics.

LYRICS TO ARTIFICIAL MAN FROM “FINAL REFLECTIONS”:

INTRO

Over mortal men I tower

Fearless, full of power

But slave of my makers

Created by dark undertakings

I am their wondrous Adam

Yet I’d like to damn them

To the same empty hell where I am.

VERSE ONE

Their artificial man

It’s hollow in my chest

Where something weighty was

A heaviness now gone,

Where once sorrow touched me

A sorrow that is done

Visited once by joy

Though now there is none.

An artificial man.

VERSE TWO

Their artificial man

There’s a hole in my head

A trace of memories

Mostly unremembered

Near gone but not dead

Faint and dying embers

Edited history

Selective mystery.

An artificial man.

VERSE THREE

Their artificial man

Empty of all feeling

But remotely recalling

A time when I could feel

Before the supple limbs

Were cast in subtle steel

Before love ran through me

Like the rain through a drain

An artificial man.

OUTRO

Created by dark undertakings

I am their wondrous Adam

Yet I’d like to damn them

To the same empty hell where I am.

With The Painted Caravan Trilogy now complete, Peter Ulrich brings his

colorful Caravan home full speed ahead. All aboard for the final

exhilarating trip!

National CBD Day

Topically Applied Farm-to-Skin CBD Featuring the Brand’s Award-Winning Products CBD Essentials was founded by CBD industry expert and advocate Aryn Sieber, who consults with physicians and patients nationwide on the responsible use and medicinal benefits of cannabis. Sieber became a sought-after professional leader in the industry after using cannabis during his own battle with Stage IV cancer. CBD Essentials topically applied products are lab-formulated, third-party tested, and batch numbered to ensure quality and consistency. All CBD Essentials products feature Sieber’s award-winning flower and meet the federal requirements of the 2018 Farm Bill, which mandates that all CBD-infused products are derived from dried Cannabis Sativa L. plant material that contain less than 0.3 percent THC to be legal in the United States.

Real-world testing has shown CBD to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and to act as an antibacterial, antitumoral and antimicrobial. Studies also have shown that CBD can balance oil production in the skin. Furthermore, because the human body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) is critically responsible for the life cycle of basal skin cells, some treatments encourage the ECS with topically applied CBD in an effort to help regulate the production of healthy skin. (It is important to note that therapeutic statements for CBD products are not yet evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.) CBD is non-psychoactive. Cannabinoids are chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant that act on cannabinoid receptors in cells in the human body that alter neurotransmitter release in the brain. Ligands or bonding molecules for these receptor proteins include endocannabinoids which are naturally produced in the body.

Terpenes refer to a class of compounds found in nearly every plant species including cannabis. They have been shown to influence many biological activities—including reduction of inflammation, reduced sensitivity to pain, and reduced anxiety. Terpenes and cannabinoids share a common biochemical precursor, giving them the ability to bind with different biological substances in the body, including receptors and enzymes.

This product features organic coconut oil infused with premium CBD to reduce discomfort associated with muscle and joint inflammation. This non-greasy topically applied product helps to rejuvenate tired muscles and aching joints, enhancing recovery and relieving pain. It was formulated to be used for therapeutic and oncology massages, and has been shown help reduce inflammation associated with arthritis, fibromyalgia, tendonitis and psoriasis in hundreds of real-world test cases. Designed for all skin types, the CBD Essentials Body + Massage Oil also can improve dry skin, deeply hydrating for maximum benefit and long-lasting protection. CBD Essentials Body + Massage Oil is available in Green Tea Cucumber, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Lavender and Natural in sizes 1 oz. at a retail price of $29; and 4 oz. spray at a retail price of $90.

10 facts about Anxiety Disorder

Vinay Saranga M.D. is a psychiatrist and founder of Saranga Comprehensive Psychiatry. He offers these 10 facts about anxiety disorders:

1. There’s a difference between anxiety and an anxiety disorder:

Everybody experiences anxiety from time to time. It quite often presents itself when we are feeling scared, stressed or worried and that’s normal anxiety. People with a true anxiety disorder experience both psychological and physiological symptoms on a regular basis, and in many cases, it can be debilitating.

2. Anxiety disorders encompass a number of psychiatric conditions:

An anxiety disorder is not just someone who experiences excessive worry. A number of psychiatric conditions makeup anxiety disorders including: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

3. Anyone can develop an anxiety disorder:

Anxiety disorders are not just reserved for people who tend to worry a lot. Anyone can develop an anxiety disorder because there are a number of factors that come into play including your environment, upbringing, genetics and chemical imbalances in the brain.

4. Anxiety symptoms aren’t always obvious:

Most people think of excessive worry and stress as symptoms of anxiety. That is true, but there are also other symptoms that you may not associate with anxiety such as racing thoughts, chest pains, difficulty breathing, irritability, loss of appetite, headaches, trouble sleeping and increased heart rate.

5. Anxiety disorders can be managed:

Many anxiety disorders bring about very unpleasant body sensations. Although they can be quite scary and even uncomfortable, it is possible to learn to control them and lead a very successful and fulfilling life despite your condition.

6. Treatment should be started as soon as possible:

Like any medical condition, the sooner you can start treatment for an anxiety disorder, the better. The longer it goes without getting help, the more severe your condition can become. There are many great treatment options available including medication, therapy, alternative treatments and self-help options.

7. There’s no reason to suffer:

Millions of people have been diagnosed with anxiety disorders. But unfortunately, so many more are silently suffering. Men in particular have a tough time seeking treatment due to the fear of being labeled weak or being seen as less of a man. There is nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed about.

8. There is an upside to anxiety:

For all the negative things we hear about anxiety, there is some good that comes from it. Chances are you are more cautious, very compassionate, kind, a good listener, and think before you act. In fact, whether you realize it or not, many of the characteristics that you may not like about yourself make you more attractive to others.

9. Too much anxiety can affect your health:

In the short term, there’s nothing dangerous about the physical sensations of anxiety. However, in the long run, if left untreated, anxiety disorders can take a toll on the body and lead to high blood pressure, heart disease, GI problems and other psychiatric conditions.

10. We must continue to erase the stigma:

In recent years, anxiety and mental illness as a whole has become more accepted by society. However, it is still not on the same level as more physical illnesses. The responsibility is on all of us to erase the stigma and be more accepting of those who struggle with their mental health.

Julia Michaels Releases Intimate Video for “Body”

Grammy® Award-nominated multiplatinum singer and songwriter JULIA MICHAELS just released the video for “Body,” a deeply personal song from her latest release Inner Monologue Part 2. Watch HERE.

The video premiered on Teen Vogue yesterday alongside an as-told-to essay where MICHAELS touched on the

inspiration behind her new song and video, and her own experiences with learning to love herself. Of the video MICHAELS says, “In the video for “Body,” I came up with the idea to start in a bunch of layers, and by the end I’m completely stripped. The second verse of the song is me talking about how I cover up. I wear big, oversized sweatshirts so that I can cover my body. I do all these things to make me feel more comfortable in my own skin, but really it’s making me more uncomfortable when I take it off because I’m constantly masking myself. I wanted to show people how I am versus how I could be.”

Julia will bring the song to life on the second leg of THE INNER MONOLOGUE TOUR which kicks off October 16 in Tempe, AZ and stops coast-to-coast. Check out the full confirmed itinerary below. Tickets are on-sale now HERE.

GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer and songwriter Julia Michaels has transformed the pop music landscape not only from behind-the-scenes as one of the most in-demand songwriters, but in the spotlight as a solo artist as well. Her rapid rise can be attributed to identifiable honesty in every lyric, as exemplified in her triple-platinum selling debut single “Issues”.  In 2018, she garnered GRAMMY® Awards nominations in the categories of “Best New Artist” and “Song of the Year” for “Issues,” which amassed nearly 2 billion streams worldwide.

Continuing that success, “Issues” notably became “the top-selling debut single by an artist in 2017,” and placed as the only solo female composition on Variety’s “30 Most Consumed Songs of 2017.” As a songwriter, MICHAELS has co-written 21 titles that have charted on the Billboard Hot 100, eleven of which have hit the Top 40, including “Issues.”  Those songwriting credits include smashes like Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” Selena Gomez’s “Good for You” [feat. A$AP Rocky] & “Hands To Myself,” and Hailee Steinfeld’s “Love Myself.”  She’s alsowritten titles for Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Linkin Park, Ed Sheeran, John Legend, P!NK, Maroon 5, Jessie Ware, Janelle Monae, KeithUrban, Shawn Mendes and more.  The cumulative worldwide stream tally for songs she has co-written is 20 billion to date.

Since her debut as a solo artist, MICHAELS has built an enviable touring resume, joining artists like Maroon 5, Keith Urban, Shawn Mendes, Niall Horan, and P!NK, around the globe.

Kash Doll “Ready Set” Music Video

Kash Doll releases her music video accompanying her latest banger “Ready Set” featuring fellow Detroit rap representative Big Sean today. The record is an obvious undeniable summer smash, with its celebratory tone and energized pace driven flow.

Directed by Jesse Ray Diamond with Teyana (Spike Tee) Taylor serving as Creative Director, the video matches the songs high energy with a Motor City inspired race themed visual that is beyond smoking hot.

Watch “Ready Set”: HERE

Speaking about the song and video, Kash Doll says, “Ready Set is a motivational and aspirational song. I wanted to let people know if I can make it, despite the things I’ve been through, they can do it too. I’m a D girl so I’m determined.” The Detroit rapper is on a serious roll. She is fresh off a BET Award nomination for “Best Female Hip-Hop Artist,” touring the country with Meek Mill and just had her major music release “Kitten” featuring none other than the legendary hip-hop icon Lil Wayne. This all follows her groundbreaking mini-movie and song “Hustla” released in April.

Detroit native Kash Doll has impacted the music industry with a commanding force, dropping street-earned truths with her throwback wordplay and powerful bars. The one-two combination of spirit and sass announced her as fiery female force in 2019 after quietly amassing 30 million-plus on-demand streams, garnering the BMI Social Star Award and “Issa Wave Award” at the BET Social Awards, and inking a deal with Republic Records. An unbelievable story brought her to this point.

Losing her dad on just her first birthday, she always held down multiple jobs to support her mom and siblings. And at 18, she started investing in herself eventually opening two beauty bars and funding her own music career. She made waves on the 2014 independent debut mixtape, Keisha Vs. Kash Doll. Following 2016’s Trapped In The Dollhouse, she developed a presence as a touring force and earned coveted co-signs from Drake, Big Sean, Rick Ross, Remy Ma, and many more. The 2018 The Vault mixtape captured #1 on multiple mixtape sites as her debut single for Republic Records “Ice Me Out” and its 2 Chainz-assisted official remix clocked 18 million-plus total streams. Last year, Kash Doll also released a project solely for her fans titled Brat Mail to thank them for all their continued support.

The project garnered over 23 million global streams and features the break out single “Check.” Shortly before Brat Mail, Kash released one of her biggest singles to date, “For Everybody,” which racked up over 10 million YouTube/VEVO views independently.

She kicked off 2019 with a bang by supporting Meek Mill on tour. Outside of music, this boss runs Kash Doll Enterprises and does charity work around her hometown. Her city bestowed the “Spirit of Detroit” Award upon her.

We spent a magical weekend with a close family friend and her two kids. We got to experience a wonderful stay in one of the riverbend cabins, with a really authentic cottage-style interior design, wooden floors and walls and a gorgeous view on the Comal River. Sipping on brew, snacking on pizza and braiding each others’ hair… Couldn’t think of a better way to relax and break our busy routines. We also had fun exploring the miniature downtown area that was a walking distance to our cabin, brimming with an array of eclectic bars, restaurants and street murals.

Our team had a blast at Schlitterbahn, and we’re sure you will too. So go and make memories this summer!
