Pediatric Health

NEW YORK, NY—June 24, 2019—Pediatricians seeking to address the social and economic concerns that can affect the health of their young patients must first build trusting relationships with parents and alleviate concerns that child protective services may be alerted, according to a report released today by United Hospital Fund and the nonprofit research organization Public Agenda.

“Parents bring their young children to the pediatrician up to 11 times within the first two years of life, and each of these visits offers an opportunity to identify unmet social needs and coordinate care with community-based services,” said Suzanne Brundage, director of UHF’s Children’s Health Initiative. “As screening for social determinants of health becomes more common in pediatric practices, qualitative and quantitative research can help us understand and improve how parents experience these screenings.”

Parents in four of the focus groups were recruited by community-based organizations that are part of UHF’s Partnerships for Early Childhood Development initiative, set up to help pediatric practices routinely screen young children and their families for social determinants and connect them with social services that can address those risks. The rest of the parents were recruited by professional market research facilities. Two of the eight focus groups were conducted in Spanish.

Support for the report was provided by a grant from United Hospital Fund. UHF’s Children’s Health Initiative, which commissioned and collaborated on this work, is funded in part by the William J. & Dorothy K. O’Neill Foundation and the Ira W. DeCamp Foundation.

The full report can be downloaded here.

360 magazine, Leah Van Dale (Carmella)

Leah Van Dale (Carmella)

E! Total Divas and WWE superstar, Leah Van Dale (Carmella), is well known for her fierce attitude and even fiercer physique, but there is a lot more to the fitness queen who boasts over two million followers on Instagram alone.

Leah has been involved with fitness her entire life. She has been dancing since she was three-years old and before making a name for herself in WWE, she was a cheerleader in the NFL and NBA (New England Patriots and Lakers.)

Leah earned her first success in WWE as the final pick for the 2016 draft to fill out SmackDown LIVE’s Women’s division.

From that point forward Leah’s résumé began to expand at lightning speed. She won the first-ever Women’s Money in the Bank Match (and the second), defeated Charlotte Flair to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship, and won the second-ever WrestleMania Women’s, Battle Royal. Her competitiveness is matched by her creativity, which exploded in the freewheeling sideshow of the Mixed Match Challenge, where she joined forces with R-Truth to originate an endearing seven-second dance break en route to winning the competition.

From the field to the court, to the ring, and beyond–Leah is consistently proving that there isn’t anything she can’t accomplish.

She most recently has expanded her career as a successful business woman with her new wine brand, Capo Cagna.

Capo Cagna truly aligns with who Leah is as someone who is fearless on and off camera. Loosely translating to “Boss Bitch” in Italian, Leah describes a Capo Cagna as “a strong, successful, and independent woman.” Leah focuses on inspiring women to feel strong, empowered, and unapologetically themselves.

Leah’s career is a testament to hard work, perseverance and making the most of every opportunity that comes your way.

The Best Sporting Events for Traveling to in 2020

Author: Robert Bell

Mixing sport and travel is a fantastic way to see the world. If you want to see the best action that the world has to offer, then where do you need to head to in 2020?

The following are a few of the events that you might want to see. They offer terrific sporting spectacles, as well as perhaps providing you with an incentive to visit interesting new places.

Superbowl 2020, Miami Gardens, Florida

We don’t yet know which teams will be competing in Superbowl LIV. Yet, we do know that it will be held on February 2, 2020, in the setting of Miami Gardens, Florida. This will be the sixth time that this football game is held in this stadium, but the first time in 10 years.

You can already start planning your Superbowl 2020 trip before the competing teams are decided, as tickets can now be bought online. Keen football fans will know that New England Patriots and Kansa City Chiefs are already among the favorites to win this event, according to the latest Super Bowl odds.

While you are in Florida, you can enjoy natural attractions such as Oleta River State Park, Greynolds Park, and Miramar Pineland Park. Of course, the wonderful beaches and restaurants are also pretty tempting there.

2020 Summer Olympics, Tokyo

When it comes to giant sporting events, there is nothing quite like the Summer Olympics. The 2020 event is officially known as the Games of the XXXII Olympiad and is set to be a spectacular affair.

There are going to be some interesting new events added to the Olympic roster here, including 3×3 basketball, Madison cycling, and freestyle BMX, as well as surfing and skateboarding. The Japanese authorities are building 11 new venues for the event, with the National Stadium in Tokyo being the main venue. Most of the action will take place within a few kilometers of the Olympic village.

You won’t want to miss visiting the Japanese capital without sampling some of the other amazing things to do in this city. From the panoramic views from the Tokyo Skytree observation deck to the Sensō-ji, which is the oldest temple in the city, to the Imperial Palace, this is a place where you will discover unique attractions.

Champions League Final, Istanbul

The biggest prize in European club soccer will be at stake when two teams compete in the UEFA Champions League final in Turkey. The setting will be the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, which is where Liverpool famously came back from 0-3 to dramatically win the trophy from Milan in 2005.

This stadium has a 76,761, all-seated capacity and is located on the western, European side of the city. It was built as part of Turkey’s bid for the 2008 Summer Olympics and is renowned for both its size and the intense atmosphere generated inside it.

Before or after the game, there is plenty to explore in this historic city that straddles Europe and Asia. Hagi Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace Museum are all outstanding. However, for many visitors it is wandering through the mammoth Grand Bazaar that is their lingering memory of Istanbul.

Winter X Games, Calgary

The Winter X Games will be held in Calgary from 2020 through to 2022. This extreme sports event is expected to bring some 75,000 spectators to the Canadian city each of those years. They will also be hosting shows and special events while the games are going on.

Calgary was host to the 1998 Winter Olympics and has held many sporting events since then. If you are looking for something to do away from the games, then the local zoo and Calgary Tower, with a revolving restaurant at the top, are among the big attractions.

No matter what kind of sport you like, combining it with a new travel experience will let you get an unforgettable trip.

Cool Down this Summer with Red Wine Cocktails

Pi’erre Bourne “The Life of Pi’erre 4”

One of the most innovative forces in the rap game today, Pi’erre Bourne takes his artistry to whole new heights on his long-awaited new project The Life of Pi’erre 4, out now on SossHouse/ Interscope Records. With every song written, produced, engineered, and arranged all on his own, the album again shows the uncompromising originality he’s revealed in producing Billboard Hot 100 hits like Playboi Carti’s double-platinum smash “Magnolia,” and Travis Scott’s “Watch” ft. Lil Uzi Vert and Kanye West. Praised by Complex for “redefining trap music,” the 25-year-old artist/producer now brings his creative integrity to a lo-fi yet high-energy sound that’s emotionally powerful and entirely unpredictable.

Check out Drake showing love for Pi’erre’s new project below:

Tomorrow, Pi’erre will be hosting a show live on NTS Radio at 12pm PST. Listen here: http://www.nts.live

Born in Kansas under the name Jordan Jenks, Pi’erre lived between the Carolinas and Belize during his childhood. He also spent a great deal of time in Queens, New York, where an uncle taught him to use FruityLoops and encouraged him to start making his own music while Pi’erre was still in elementary school. Pi’erre later studied music engineering at the SAE Institute in Atlanta, and soon earned significant cash by recording for local artists. After making his name as a producer, he landed an engineering job at Epic Records, where he quickly found himself in high demand among fast-rising artists like Young Nudy.

During his time at Epic, Pi’erre dedicated his off-hours to working on his own projects, dropping the first installment of his Life of Pi’erre series in September 2016. With both The Life of Pi’erre 2 and The Life of Pi’erre 3 arriving in the next few months, he left Epic at the end of that year in order to devote more time to his own music. As he continued producing for artists like Jay Critch, Big Sean, and Playboi Carti, Pi’erre moved forward with the making of The Life of Pi’erre 4, and in late 2017 scored an artist deal with Interscope Records.

Since signing with Interscope, Pi’erre has toured with the likes of Drake, Nudy, and Carti, in addition to launching SossHouse (his own Interscope imprint,) and generating buzz with recent singles like “Hacked My Instagram” and “Marie Curie.” In the midst of bringing The Life of Pi’erre 4 to life, he also teamed up with Nudy for the critically acclaimed album Sli’merre—a May 2019 release named one of the year’s best rapper/producer collaborations by Pitchfork, who hailed Pi’erre as “one of the most interesting contemporary rap producers.”

PIRELLI × TRANS AM × SVRA

PIRELLI, TRANS AM AND SVRA RENEW AGREEMENTS UNTIL 2024

Pirelli Tire North America and the Trans Am Series have renewed their partnership until the end of 2024, with the Italian tire company as presenting partner for America’s Road Racing Series.

At the same time, Pirelli has also extended its agreement with SVRA (Sportscar Vintage Racing Association) for the same period as the ‘Official Street Tire of SVRA’. SVRA, the largest vintage racing organization in the United States open to virtually any vintage or historic race car, will share a number of key dates with the Trans Am Series as part of the ‘Speed Tour’.

The recent five-year extension between Pirelli and the Trans Am Series comes off the back of the current three-year agreement that lasts until the end of this year. As a result, Pirelli will continue to be the presenting sponsor as well as official tire supplier to one of the best-known road racing championships in the United States, which is rooted in popular culture as well as motorsport.

The Trans Am Series has been thrilling fans and drivers alike since 1966, with a range of classes that include production-based entries up all the way up to the iconic 850 plus horsepower TA Class. This complements Pirelli’s road to track philosophy perfectly, in which the lessons learned on circuits are put into practice on road car tires. Pirelli will continue to supply the entire Trans Am field, including a purpose-built competition tire for the TA and TA2 classes, enabling the drivers to get the very most out of their cars while spectators enjoy a magnificent show that highlights the very best of American racing.

Ultra-high performance and competition is at the very heart of Pirelli, which celebrates more than 110 years of motorsport and recently renewed its exclusive partnership with Formula 1. In addition to supplying more than 220 car racing championships worldwide, Pirelli is one of the companies that invests most into research and development through motorsport in order for the competition product to be as closely aligned to road car tires as possible.

Consequently, Pirelli and Trans Am are currently testing 18-inch tires for the headlining TA class, which may be adopted from next season, bringing the tires used on the track even closer to those on the road. In a similar move, Pirelli is introducing 18-inch tires to F1 in 2021.

Pirelli North America Chief Executive Officer, Marco Crola, said: “We’re delighted to renew this relationship for a championship that’s at the heart of American automotive culture, with extremely close racing and very high standards of driving. As well as providing great entertainment, this agreement enables us to reinforce our links with iconic American car manufacturers, and further enhance the connection between road and track with our high-technology P Zero products. This same technology is also seen in our Pirelli Collezione tires for classic cars, which combine classic looks with modern know-how, underlining the importance of the SVRA series to our portfolio as well.”

Trans Am Series President John Clagett added: “It’s a pleasure for us to extend the partnership with Pirelli, which is an extremely popular move among drivers and teams as well. Pirelli is an iconic brand that stands for performance and style, with a commitment to competition and technical excellence that fits in perfectly with our own.”

Tony Parella, SVRA President and Chief Executive Officer, commented: “The renewal of the partnership with Pirelli is an ideal match for SVRA, given our mutual commitment to support and promote vintage racing by providing our drivers with tires that are perfectly suited to the needs of their classic cars that are still driven flat-out in close competition.”

On the road, the Pirelli Collezione range features high-technology tires for classic cars, which are specifically designed to enhance the original driving dynamics of these cars.

2019 EAT DRINK VEGAN

Written by Krishan Narsinghani × Vaughn Lowery

360 Magazine had the opportunity to cover the 2019 Eat Drink Vegan Fest in Pasadena, CA. With ample amounts of curated vendors, it was a food and drink galore that left guests feeling energized and healthy. Thirst on a ‘Saturday Funday’ was overkill.

Foodies (rather drink connoisseurs) could sample over 250 beverages including kombucha (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), smoothies, beers, wines, blended spicy margaritas, and organic spirits. Talk about quenching your pallet.

Delectable bites from buffalo chicken sandwiches made from soy beans, kimchi fries and chocolate cakes stole the show. Kids enjoyed a playground area while families sprawled across the lush yards within the Rose Bowl Stadium.

For real, an experience that conformed meat-lover tastebuds to a plant-based wonderland.
